My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story kind of took me by surprise as to just how much I enjoyed it. Now listen I mean that in all the best ways because I read a lot of books and I’m always on the lookout for ones that will stick with me and take me by surprise. This author did that and so much more in my opinion. The characters and storyline are so realistic I just sank right into their world and I was so sad to say see you later to these great characters. From start to finish I was completely hooked and the outside world meant nothing to me! The storyline will have you turning the pages as fast as possible to see what will happen! Five big stars and highly recommended! I can’t wait to read more!

Falling Home (Buckeye Falls Book 1) by Libby Kay – Review by Sandra

Falling HomeFalling Home by Libby Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Falling Home is about a woman, named Ginny, who returns to her small hometown to take care of her father while he is recovering from a pending surgery. She returns to a lot of people who are excited to have her back in town, including her ex-husband Max.

This was an adorable story about getting a second chance with someone that you miss and wish you never would have lost. It is set in the perfect, small town environment. The cherry on top is the time of the year. I am a sucker for Christmas romances. I really enjoyed the writing style from the author and the story is adorable. I’m not going to ruin the ending for you. If you want to know if Max and Ginny worked things you, you’ll need to pick up the story yourself.

Delicious Death (Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries #2)Delicious Death by Byrd Nash
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I came across this book first and started reading it before realizing that this was book 2 in a series. From there I had to find book one just to read to see how my thoughts might be swayed and the impact it has on understanding the second book. Even though I did it backwards I was still able to follow the storyline and the author does a wonderful job with looping you in.

Elinor, our female medium, is a witty, take no prisoners type of person and definitely not one to let society tell her what she must do. So when she gets an invite to a royal feast she must accept after all she also loves to eat. Throw in an attempted murder, a ghost stalking her favorite chef, and the romantic tension between Elinor and Duke Tristan you have a witty masterpiece that anyone would fall in love with. Who will solve this dastardly royal murder attempt or will they end up in the crosshairs of the perpetrator?

This was a witty, humorous paranormal mystery read that will keep you flipping pages just to find out what happens next. Now onto downloading the others in this series so I can see what happens next.

Talisman (The Talisman Series Book 1) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

OMG!!!! This book had me on pins and needles the entire time. I am normally not one for romance but the chemistry from Rowan and Alyssa was just OMG!!!! I am in love with these characters and I can’t wait to read Book Two, Warrior. I have never wanted to learn more about the background of characters then I do with this book. There is a war and its raging inside everyone, Do Alyssa and Rowan win? You need to read it to find out. I promise you, you will not regret reading this book. I know I don’t regret it at all.

Shake, rattle and roll!
This brilliant picture story book is the second book in the Invisible Wand Series. Caspian is back, bringing his cousin, grandpa and of course his trusty wand. What are they going to do when there is an earthquake?
This engaging story has terrific illustrations and has embedded educational aspects. Aged for 4-8 year olds it would make a fun addition to any class or home library.

This medical suspense romance story was a well written one, and i liked that the main overall story was believable and interesting. The chemistry between the main characters was off the charts even if they were in middle of a hectic and dangerous time. I enjoyed this story and I am looking forward to more by this author in the future.
Happy Reading!

Brilliant!
This is book 3 in the Fear Inc series and it was amazing. The storyline was engaging and the characters were easily relatable. Even though this can be read as stand-alone, I loved seeing characters from the previous books and knowing their story. There is romance, witty banter, a deep brotherhood, best friend’s sister angst, and a bit of steam. Highly recommend.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is another successful addition to a series that is clearly shaping up to be amazing. I am always blown away by how easily I get into one of these books, the storyline and the characters. The author weaves the two together in such an effortless way that I cannot help but be drawn in.
This book picks up where the previous one leaves off so I would recommend reading them in order. However, this can be read as a standalone without too much being missed. Via Mari has easily become one of my go to authors and this book is a great example of why. It is so easy to read her books as it feels like the pages turn themselves. This is an amazing story and I cannot wait for the next!

Talisman (The Talisman Series Book 1) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Naomi McDonald

Talisman: The Talisman SeriesTalisman: The Talisman Series by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I liked the idea of this story more than the story itself.

The story started out alright, but once the two main characters meet up the second time, it felt like they barely even had a connection on Alyssa’s end of things and they were already jumping in bed. It also felt like Rowan was pressuring Alyssa. An example without being spoilery – Rowan goes to get some extra clothes. Alyssa comments on him looking like he’s moving into her house and he blows it off. Then, he moves his clothes into her dresser and closet without telling her. But he’s expecting her to trust him, even though he’s pulling shady stuff. I didn’t like that vibe at all.

I did enjoy the mythological aspects of the story and the attention to detail.

All-in-all, it wasn’t the read I was hoping for, but it was entertaining.

Talisman (The Talisman Series Book 1) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Jenni Bishop

Talisman: The Talisman SeriesTalisman: The Talisman Series by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 stars
Tam DeRudder Jackson is a Paranormal Fantasy romance writer and a new author to me, so I was excited to get started. Talisman is the first book in the Talisman series and there is a lot going on. There is Celtic mythology, druids, gods and goddesses, supernatural abilities, magic, a curse, revenge, and good vs evil. It is written in multiple POV which makes the story that much broader.
It is a unique modern day paranormal tale set in Montana. The story and colourful characters are interesting and the premise is good but the even flow of the story was missing. The story starts out well but there is a lot of over details throughout the whole book which kind of made me skim over a lot it. The ending was interesting but there are a few things that didn’t mesh throughout. I also wish there was more action.
Alyssa is a shy woman and has no idea about what is out in the world and who they really are but one night changes all that. She really was a little naïve and had a lot of catching up to do and not be so accepting of things.
Rowan is a warrior and doesn’t have much time left to find his Talisman. However, she has no idea about his world or the supernatural in general. Unfortunately time is against them. Will all be lost? Rowan was a little frustrating at times and I just wanted him to calm down a bit.
As this is the first book in the series I am going to continue to read more books and hope that this is just first book teething issues.

Well, well, well a ghost story with suspense. Elinor Chalamet a crime fighting medium. She is not only independent but plays a strong role in this case. While things seem to be quiet around her, life gets boring. Getting an invitation from the King Guenard, she chooses to visit the King and the great cook off. Taking her friend Dr. Charlotte LaRue with her on the adventure. But things change quite quickly. Murder and mayhem keep this story going with its twists and turns. This is a new author for me. But I am very pleased I gave her a chance. Her fantasy ghost story with its action and suspense held my interest and was fun to read. I am looking forward to what happens next for Elinor.

Handle With Care (Chase Care Book 1)Handle With Care by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Handle With Care is the first book in the Chase Care series, which is a spin-off from the Chase Security series which is one of my favourite series. I was so glad to jump back into the Chase world and this certainly did not disappoint. Far, far from it!
When reviewing a book like this, I realise that I give to many 5 star ratings. By this I mean that this book is so good that I feel that it deserves more than the 5 stars I’m allowed to give it.
At over 500 pages, this is not a short read, but in all honesty I could have read another 500 pages of this story. I was totally engrossed in this book and hated having to put it down to go back to the ‘real’ world.
Hunter and Selma are 2 fascinating characters among a large cast of characters, many of whom I loved and others I hated. Hunter and Selma’s story is so much more than a romance story. This story has soooo much drama. It really is edge of your seat, heart in your mouth reading as characters lives are hanging on by the thinnest of threads.
This is a book that I know I will read again and I can’t wait for more in this series.

Last year Caspian received a Magic Wand from his grandfather. It could speed up and slow down time. In this story, his cousin Belinda asks for a Magic Wand because she wants to be able to do the same. It is pretty cool to speed up time through things you might not like so much and slow down time to enjoy the things you love. Speeding up time through an earthquake, getting out of the house safely, and running fast are just some of the things Belinda does in her adventure.
As always, Lois Wickman’s books are a great read for children!

Talisman (The Talisman Series Book 1) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Talisman: The Talisman SeriesTalisman: The Talisman Series by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Talisman is the exciting first book in the Talisman series of Celtic Urban Fantasy Romance. It utilises the soulmate trope – every warrior has to find his talisman between the age of 21 and 28 or face dire consequences. Rowan, the warrior in this book, is 3 months from his 28th birthday so the pressure is on.
This is a captivating story, with plenty of world-building drawing on Celtic history, culture and mythology. There’s lots of action, as Rowan and Alyssa face supernatural forces determined to keep them apart. There’s also plenty of research scenes as Alyssa works on her masters thesis and tries to learn more about her family history!
This is the perfect read for when you’re staying warm with a snow storm outside, would definitely recommend it! Although don’t feel like you have to wait for snow to enjoy it. Talisman gets five stars from me and if you enjoy urban and Celtic fantasy I’m sure you’ll love it!

Abi is an everyday woman. Finn is Hollywood royalty. They had never met, until it was time to get married!

The blurb I read seemed a bit unrealistic, but I am so glad I read this book! At the beginning, Abi appreciates Finn’s beauty, but…that’s about it. There aren’t a lot of desirable qualities to start with, but you keep seeing him in between all the attitude. By the end, I was rooting hard for Finn and Abi and really loved how deep and well written they are.

Great characters, fun world building…read this book!

This book was fantastic. I loved the ferocity of Emelia. She is not one mafia princess that I would mess with. Best book of the series so far!!!

Emelia knew she was in danger when her father told her and her brother to flee. When she was found Emelia thought it was the end. Little did she know it was just the beginning.

Dominic was a vicious soldier and knew what he needed to do. Dominic thought he was lucky to capture the two youngest DeRosa children. He knew his Don would be pleased, they would have the edge. But things never go to plan. Not only that, a strange protective instinct when it comes to Emelia has blossomed. Dominic will do what he has to do to save his family but will that cost him his new obsession, Emelia?

I loved the action, the banter, the tenderness Dom shows, the cunning Emelia possesses and all of it. Emelia is badass!!! I absolutely despise what happened to Leo. My heart ached for Emelia. I can’t wait for the wedding!! Totally loving this series!!

An entertaining romance built around a Celtic myth! I fell in love with this tale of Rowan and Alyssa. He must break a curse and needs her. Oh, the adventures that include all the figures you would expect: the druids, fairies, bairds, etc. This story is so well-written and planned out. I was glued to it from the beginning. I am a big fan of anything that feels like time-travel. Romance makes it even better. I could feel the chemistry between these two. All the characters were done well and just all tied in to the story in such a way to entertain. My husband kept wanting to know what I was reading because I kept smiling as I read. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series as this is book !.

Though she’s a voracious reader of all genres of romance, her favorite genres to write are paranormal and contemporary. When she’s not writing or reading, she’s probably traveling or skiing or dancing at a rock concert.

There is a big twist that forces them to flee. As they spend more time together their connection grows. The author does a great job with her writing. Delicious Death (Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries #2)Delicious Death by Byrd Nash
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I enjoyed Delicious Death. I think I may have enjoyed it more than book 1 in this series. The author brings us back to Alenbonne and into Madame Chalamet’s life. This time it seems to be a bigger adventure and a bigger mystery.
The resident Ghost Talker has been invited to The Winter Revels by the king. This season’s competition is among 6 chefs across the land. Of course Madame Chalamet feels Duke Archambeau is behind it. But what happens when all the fun and games turns serious. Someone poisoned the King and with all these people in the same place from high society as well as common, anyone could’ve done it.
Together and apart the Duke and Madame start an investigation to get to the bottom of it. Despite everything the push and pull between them, they make a great team. It could also be that the author is showing more chemistry between them within the writing.
I look forward to continuing on into this series!

Ghost Talker(Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries Book1) by Byrd Nash – Review by Beverly Finnie

Ghost Talker (Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries #1)Ghost Talker by Byrd Nash
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ghost Talker was interesting. I struggled to get into it at first but the author wrote an interesting mystery with a supernatural element. I’m a sucker for the supernatural, books of fiction in this genre have always intrigued me. Ghost Talker was no different.
Madame Chalamet has been brought into an investigation that lands her in house arrest. All because of what the spirit revealed to her. Revealing who he was and what relations said person has, Duke Archambeau felt he needed to keep a close eye on her. Despite being present in the morgue of the spirit talking he still had his doubts about Madame Chalamet’s profession.
Forced to work together to solve the murder and keep the peace treaty signing in order, the Duke and Madame find as much as they frustrate one another they also entertain as well.
The mystery the author lays before you is different because ghosts are helping to lead the investigation. But that different element makes it stand out. Keeps the book in the reader’s mind even after they are done. Makes one look forward to more books in this series. As well as what could develop between the Madame and Duke.
