When reading the other books.in the series I somehow managed to overlook this one so decided it was time to finally add it in. Although I never felt like I was missing something, I am really glad I did because it is such a great story. It was nice seeing an earlier version of Jake and Cody and seeing how their characters had developed.over time. They are juat as engaging now as they were then.
The story itself is fast paced and exciting. So much seems to happen in these books and I am always engrossed in this story. This is a fantastic book and the whole series is worth a read!

It feels like it has been such a long time since I read one of these books and this one has to be the best so far. It was so easy to reconnect with the characters and become engaged with the story. This book is just as exciting and fast paced of the rest of the series. It is action packed right from the word go.
One of my favourite things about this series is the connection between Jake and Cody. It is lovely to see how much they both rely on each other, not just one way or the other. With each book, their relationship grows stronger. This author has created a strong and lasting series and I hope there will be many more books to come.

Mission Target (Jake Wolfe, # 7)Mission Target by Mark Nolan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jake and Cody rule. There are just no two ways about it. They are classy and fun.

So much has happened since my last Jake and Cody thrill ride. Cody has puppies!! No surprise that they are super smart and helpers, just like Cody. Okay, I digress.

While enjoying some time off in the Florida Keys, Jake is contacted by his Secret Service contact about needing Jake for a job. It is during this job that Jake finds out about a new weapon being used against citizens of the US, a new drug that is deadly and being used to taint the drug supply. This new lethal combination is causing havoc throughout the drug trade, even in-fight within the cartels.

Jake and Cody have been tasked with taking down as many of the traffickers that they can find to stop or at least stem the tide of this new drug entering the US. As Jake and Cody do their thing, it paints a large bullseye on not only them but friends and family. Jake and Cody must work within the law to keep everyone safe, especially themselves.

The action in this book does not stop. Whether it is guns blazing or Jake and Cody saving senior citizens from bullies on the beach, Jake and Cody are in constant motion. The author does not fail to entertain or keep you guessing. There are a few surprises sprinkled throughout.

Here is to Jake and Cody saving the world (or at least some part of it) again and again!!! Fantastic read.

Mission Target
By: Mark Nolan

Once again, Mark Nolan knocks it out of the park with this Jake Wolfe book. Jake and Cody are at it again and they are trying to stop a deadly drug that is spreading like wildfire. However, this assignment is not going to be what it seems and we are taken on a well crafted roller coaster ride as Jake and Cody work to finish the assignment and stay alive. This is perhaps the best Jake Wolfe book yet and I hope that there is more to come. I definitely recommend reading this book and the rest of the series!

Mission Target (Jake Wolfe, # 7)Mission Target by Mark Nolan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mission Target is book seven in the Jake Wolfe Thriller series. I do recommend reading the previous books in the series just to get better character development but it can also be a standalone. Jake and Cody are back at it again, with more adventures, action, danger, and violence. Mission Target deals with drugs, and the aftermath of them. Jake and Cody must try to find the source of the drug war to end it before more people are affected, or killed. That is, until Jake becomes a target himself. If there is ever a person that can attract all the danger, it is Jake. This one is full of twists and turns and when you think you got it figured out, more information is released. I liked this one more than the previous ones but still way too unbelievable for me to get fully immersed into the story. I absolutely LOVE Cody and his intelligence and loyalty, so if there are any more adventures planned for Jake and Cody, I will definitely read them. Overall I would say this series is a solid 4 star, for me, but don’t allow that to deter you as it is a fun storyline with a lot in each book.

Get ready to hang on for this one. Once again Jake and Cody are out to protect the innocents and get rid of the evils of the world. While Cody is the Dog he plays a big part in this story. Don’t get me wrong, I fell in love with Jake, Cody just brings the story together. This is a match not to be messed with. The action packed events will keep you reading. I do recommend you start the series from the beginning. You don’t have to but you would be missing a lot more adventure. The story is an unforgettable and action packed page turner. The story is well written and keeps the reader engaged. This author brings so much to his series. I am looking forward to book 8.

Mission Target (Jake Wolfe Thrillers Book 7) by Mark Nolan – Review by Angela Shirley

Mission Target (Jake Wolfe, # 7)Mission Target by Mark Nolan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jake is on another covert mission, this time trying to help stop a deadly drug ending up on the streets but when he discovers a beautiful girl on a beach and with similar resemblance to Sarah his girlfriend the case deepens and become dangerous for not just Jake but his friend and family.

As more and more is discovered and they are reaching the top of the tree can Jake keep himself, Cody his dog and everyone from the crosshairs of the gang. you will have to read to find out.

This is a great series and although I have read a few books and not all it does detract from story, these books can be read as stand alone and are well written and the story is developed brilliantly. The twists and turns have you on the end of whatever you are sitting on and will have you guessing till the end.

The character of Jake seems rough and ready but in the story you see the loyalty he shows not only to his partner, Cody his K-9 dog but to all the important people in his life and appreciates the struggles most people have. I always love a flawed hero and Jake is that with his PTSD from the marines playing a part in his daily struggles. Sarah was a great counter to Jake’s character and the love they show for each other was there on the page.

This is full of twists and turns and offers a sight into the underworld of drugs and gangs but I could not put the story down. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series and will go back and read the ones I haven’t, I forgot what a great thriller these books are.

I adore books with military heroes. And, what a treat to read this so close to Veterans Day! This could be a great stand-alone book, but I really enjoyed spending time with my favorite retired war dog. I adore dogs, too. Classic good versus evil book that will leave you feeling good about the future of humanity.

Mission Target is the seventh book in this incredible series. I enjoyed the canine soldier aspect of this novel. Cody is truly an amazing character! There is an exciting balance of serious and deadly situations with plenty of action, a little romance, and a hero who is true to his duty to America. While I don’t understand the call of duty for our hero, I appreciate seeing through Jake’s eyes what makes him feel that obligation. There is plenty of action, mystery and danger to keep you on the edge of your seat. The books in this series do good on their own, but it’s interesting to see these characters develop as each story progresses. I’ve read other books by this author and each one is an exciting thriller!

Mission Target is the newest addition (Book #7) to the Jake Wolfe series by Mark Nolan. It is another incredibly clever, intensely gripping, and suspenseful read. Mr. Nolan has come up with yet more heart-pounding situations for Jake and Cody to deal with – weaving a riveting adventure with a complex, multi-layered storyline that’s packed full of action, danger, tension, drama, intrigue, humour, mystery, murder, crime and investigation, covert ops, military/agency/police procedure, assassins, banter, secrets, corruption, greed, violence, a deadly drug, a dangerous international drug network with sinister intent, excitement, twists, high-sea escapades, and much more.
We once again we team up with former marine turned lawyer and covert operative Jake Wolfe, and his trusty companion, Cody, the highly intelligent, and loyal ex-war dog- who really is the smartest dog you’ll ever meet. Following along as all the excitement unfolds. When a deadly drug starts leaving bodies in its wake, Jake’s mission becomes cutting the head off the snake, stop the supply, trace the source, and eliminate the threat. This proves to be a bit more complicated when he becomes a target himself. Add a deranged serial killer, corruption, greed, danger, and high stakes- and the story becomes quite the adrenaline-fuelled ride.
It is a fast-paced story with lots of twists and surprising developments. This is such an absorbing read, I ended up reading it in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down.
This series just gets better and more addictive with each new release. I know I keep saying this, but I really can’t get enough of this series- and I don’t think I’ll ever tire of joining Jake and Cody on one of their exciting ‘adventures’- so I really hope there are plenty more stories still to come.
The next book can’t come soon enough for me!

Thank you, Mark Nolan!

It’s been a while since I read a book by this author and I have missed Jake and Cody so I thought I would grab this book and remind myself why I love this series so much and as expected it didn’t disappoint. I was straight back into the action with Jake! He is such a great character to read about. The story is action from the very beginning and it doesn’t stop the whole way through. There is so much going on in this book I didn’t have time to put it down and read it all in one sitting. Mission Target (Jake Wolfe, # 7)Mission Target by Mark Nolan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

While this is a good book I just didn’t love it as much as the previous stories. I hate to say this but it really seemed like non stop action(usually a good thing right?). He literally ends one and gets a call to go to another location for another assignment. I mean very little down time to spend time relaxing. There are too many govt agencies initials and explanations thrown at us for every little thing. I ended up just skimming those. Last issue was the girls. I am sure he is a hottie and has that great dog but not every woman he comes in contact with is after him(sexually) especially after stating he has a girlfriend and they know her. What Agent Green did..just weird…possible future stalker.
Anyhow I enjoyed seeing all the characters and meeting new ones. We get to see a whole gambit of people from Mafia to secret service. Watching Cody “work” and figure things out plus Jake..he is one smart cookie.
As always I look forward to reading these stories. This one really took us on a journey from the first incident to the last. The author did a good job winding it all together.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. This is the seventh book in this series which is just as great as the previous books in this series. I enjoy this author’s writing skills and attention to details to make the story realistic. This is a story that is well written and hard to put down. Jake is back in another mystery that turns into a race against time. When he tries to leave his past behind but he finds himself thrown back into it. I enjoyed his character and all that he brings to the story. He kept me turning pages fast just to see what would happen next. I enjoyed watching the growth of the plot throughout that made the story easy and entertaining to read. This is a fast paced story that I really enjoyed. This is one of my favorites yet. Mission Target (Jake Wolfe Thrillers)Mission Target by Mark Nolan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely love this series. I am so glad there is more Jake and Cody my favourite pair. Mission Target is the seventh epic tale in the Jake Wolfe series and not to be missed. You really do need to read he books in order to appreciate this pair and understand everything that has happened to bring the characters where they are today.
Mark is a master at cleverly weaving together a thrilling story that never leaves you wanting. He is a dynamic storyteller, and he packs a punch with his vivid vision and portrayal of fully developed characters and never-ending action.
This gripping tale is a rollercoaster of a ride with lots of twists and turns you don’t see coming. It is a suspenseful thriller that is so engrossing that the end is upon you before you know it. As much as there is action galore and lots of suspense and tension that is palpable, it is also fun and humorous, and I was laughing out loud.
The characters are well developed, fully realised and definitely flawed. Jake and his best friend Cody crack me up they are completely unique characters. Whenever these two are on a case there is mayhem and madness. The story is told in the third person POV of several characters. Telling a story this way I love as it makes the story even more dynamic and make them so much more real.
Jake a covert operative will do everything in his power to keep the enemy winning but this time he maybe way out of his wheelhouse as he faces an enemy like no other.
This fast-paced read is completely enthralling, and I read it in one sitting because it is so good that you don’t want to waste a minute in finding out what is going on.
With threats, a twisted maze of crimes, secrets, lies, and murders and a life-or-death battle and a ruthless global criminal organization Mark caters to every thriller lover.

Mission Target (Jake Wolfe, # 7)Mission Target by Mark Nolan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mission Target is the seventh in the Jack Wolfe Thrillers series, although each book can be enjoyed as a standalone. Jack, and his highly trained dog Cody, have been called on to help eliminate a vast terror threat facing the US. Jack also faces personal threats that put those he loves in danger.

Jack and Cody are a great team, taking care of each other and combining their skills to great effect. I also really like Sarah, Jack’s partner, who can keep a cool head in a crisis and shares Jack’s affection for animals. This is really a great series for readers who love animals and thrillers!

There’s plenty of detail around each action scene or stunt that takes place. I’m a particular fan of the ones where we find out afterwards important details that made things work out, a reminder of the careful planning going on behind the scenes (and Jack’s tendency to throw that out the window and improvise!).

I’ve enjoyed other Jack Wolfe books I’ve read before and this continues the trend of gripping, intriguing thrillers with plenty of humour and lightness for balance. It gets five stars from me!
