This was an excellent second-chance romance book. Brynn and Levi get their chance to see if they can rekindle the love they missed out on when they were younger. Of course, there are a few problems to tackle. Loved the characters. They each had little parts of them that I could relate to. I loved the hockey theme. I grew up in Denver and went to some DU games. There was nothing like some college hockey. The plot was excellent for me as an older reader that has had a few chances at love. I love the series and will be looking forward to reading more. Hit the click button and read it. You will love it too.

This was such a good feeling type of book, I had a lot of fun reading it, and enjoyed how things progressed and took place. The two main characters had their pasts, and their presents. What they needed though was their future. Perhaps it was right there staring them in the eye, and they both just had to embrace it?
This was actually a first time author read for me in all honesty, but I really enjoyed the descriptive senses for my sensory the author had used. It was like an art masterpiece, no spot or feeling went unlooked at, or in this case felt. It was beautiful and had the emotions associated as well. The story was a masterpiece being painted as the story went on, I could not help but love Gina and Bryce, They were two souls you really wanted to find their own happiness, and be to basically be happy. Loved them!
Something that I enjoyed in this book that is a bit different from other romance books I have read and enjoyed, was the fact that the characters had scars that were so vivid you could feel them for yourself. They were there, they hid them, yes, but when they surfaced, they were impacting. You felt every hardship, pain, and tear in those words written on the papers. It was real and powerful
This author is really amazing with her writing, and I could not put this one down at all. It was a book I just wanted to spend all day reading and well enjoying to say the least. Do not pass up this author or this amazing series, both are a very high and strong recommendation from me for sure. I will defiantly be reading more by this wonderful author, as well as the prior books in the series and new ones to come.

OMG when you get an Amy McKinley book you know what you are getting, full of action and drama with a twist of thriller deep. The characters are always rich and well developed and that is no different with these wonderful people in Marco and Elena. The story flows through and engulfs you with the drama of Elena’s situation and the determination of Marco to protect her to the bitter end.
The secondary characters also add depth and dimension to the story and will have you gripped until the end. The author always creates these strong female character who can hold their own with their male counter parts and Elena is no exception. It breaks your heart that Marco has had loved this woman for a long time but because of the loyalty to his family he has watch from a far and not pursued his happiness until the day she comes back into his life, to see the struggle he has with his feelings gives this dangerous man a soft side and seeps into your soul.
I can’t wait for the next instalment in this gripping series.

This was a really emotional and at times funny romance. It is third book in the Band of Sisters series. The author does a great job with these characters. She takes the devastating accident that happens to Gina and really shows you how this effects a person even after the fact. Gina has been through so much and still fights everyday however she is still a strong woman who speaks her mind which is what I enjoy. Her strength is inspiring.
Bryce wants to get to know Gina. He didn’t know he was looking for someone until he met her but her attitude towards him makes him wonder if the attraction is mutual. He also gets the feeling that she is hiding something from him. Something that stops her from giving herself to him completely but he can’t understand what it is or what he needs to do to get her to share that thing with him.
This story is definately a rollercoaster of emotions. The things the couple go through keeps you wondering if their relationship with ever succeed. There are places where you feel like begging Gina to tell him just so they can move forward together but you also feel the fear that Gina has of being rejected. It is a beautiful story about when you find the one you need to fight no matter the barriers that you need to overcome and Gina needs to learn to let her guard down and let someone into her life.
This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites yet by her. I enjoy being pulled into the story from the beginning of the story by the characters. They are connectable and brought much to the story. This is a story about Gina and Bryce. They both have a past and in need of healing. One of them just may have more secrets hidden than the other. I enjoyed how engaging they kept the story as well as made it hard to put down. Their chemistry is great, strong and I really enjoyed watching their growth throughout. The author’s use of details made the story feel realistic and wanted to know what happened next. This is a great second chance story that you will have to read to find out what fate has in store for this couple. I highly recommend this book.
I really enjoyed this book with a passion of my own! I am a big sports fan, and hockey is one of the things that fuel my soul truly. I couldn’t help but love how this story went about as well as the characters, they were real and brought the story to life, it was very enjoyable from start to finish!
For me, I had a strong love affair for cheering for Brynn and Levi. They struck out and lost the game with each other in the past, but you could see old feelings die hard within each other. I loved how Levi was written, hockey orientated, but yet he had walls that were crumbling down when near Brynn. And same with Brynn, things were not dead for either, they both had to realize what they had, wasn’t truly gone.
I loved how the author wrote this, there were hardships and emotions within these pages, ad you really felt for both these characters and their surrounding elements. The story was a good paced read and it was very realistic. And it made my heart cry, smile, sizzle with excitement, and even gasp time to time. I loved this one and I will certainly recommend this book again and again!
The author wrote a free spirited book and brought to life with amazing characters as well. I enjoyed their writing style, and how the story went, not too fast, and certainly not slow. Just right. Highly recommend this awesome story/book and of course such a talented author as this one!

This is a second chance romance story that I enjoyed from beginning to end. This is a well written story about what happens when your true love leaves but then what happens when they decide to come back. Will things be the same? Will fate step in and this couple get a second chance at love? I enjoyed being pulled into the story by the characters. They are relatable, kept the story engaging and truly brought the story to life. Their chemistry is great throughout the story as well as their growth. They made the story easy and entertaining to read. Brynn and Levi are great characters that brought the story to life. You have steamy characters and a hockey sports romance story, what more could you ask for. I really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend this book.

I absolutely loved reading the story of Levi Fawkes, Captain of the Astoria Bay Thunder and Brynn Mackintosh, a very talented photographer. They were each others first loves over 10 years ago and neither really left that love behind them, even when life took them in different directions. By a total fluke a radio competition sees them meeting again and then a work opportunity for Brynn sees them working together where it becomes very obvious their off the charts chemistry is still there. Levi wonders if they can recapture what was lost to them years ago, while at the same time Brynn wants to run scared fearing if it didn’t work it truly would break her this time. This is a fantastic start to what I believe is going to be such a fun steamy series filled with wonderful characters that I just can’t wait to read more about. Bring on book 2 I say!!

I will say this, the lives of Maggie and her suitor Will continue to be challenged in book 2 of this series. I was in awe of the pure love shown by Maggie as she saved her love from certain death! Being from the 20th century helped her a lot in this case, and she’s lucky no one knows of this. With all of the turmoil that is Will’s accused crimes of being with her, Will still charges on fighting tooth and nail every step of the way to secure his love for Maggie. This second book in the series will definitely keep you entertained with the antics of her new family, along with those of her own. I’m one again excited to see the next book in the series and how the saga ends for these two in love. Now on to book three!

This book was incredible! I was in shock just from the prologue! From time travel to violent raids, to the unfair treatment of women and scandalous men, this book has it all! It would not be the masterpiece it is without including love, heartbreak, deceit, and the suspense of this original story. This is the first book I’ve read by the author. The Bear at Midnight is the first book in the Orkneyinga Murders Series I’ve read. I will be looking for the others in the series.
Ketil is helping Thorfinn and with the murders he’s being accused. He thinks of ways he can clear not only his name, but someone else’s name. The quote I chose for Ketil is: “No one very convincing, that I can think of. His hird are mostly old or out of condition: as far as I know, no one has been hovering and waiting for him to die.”
Sigrid is not the only one being accused of the several murders happening. She’s also not the only one trying to clear her name. After Einar’s death things crumble. The quote I chose for Sigrid is: “It’s a shame Einar had no sons.”
I do love discovering new authors and getting to sink a new series. This story was a fine one. It had all toe goodness, a little naughtiness, and a lot of sexiness. Chemistry and charisma were but a couple of traits that these characters possessed. The sexual connection was brow raising and breath shortening. A true witty delight it was to read and get to know these stubborn but oh so lovable cast. I mean, who doesn’t love a good, steamy story with sin and second chances. And being about sport is just about perfect for me. It sang to me. Intelligently written and exciting to read, Power Play will crank the motor and leave you 100% satisfied. 4 stars.

Luca and Aly were such a sweet couple. The chemistry and connection they shared could not be ignored, and on Luca’s end would not be denied.
Luca lost his innocence as a young child being neglected and moved foster home to foster home, but being taken in by Rossi family was that light in the dark for him. Luca was immensely loyal, and as the heir to the Rossi family he was also ruthless and cold when needed. Knowing each other since they were kids there was a great deal of history with Luca and Aly. Luca was always protective and possessive of Aly, and he always knew when she needed him. However Luca being a Rossi and Aly a Mancini they were sworn enemies, and truly a Romeo and Juliet in the making. When Luca takes Aly as his own on her arranged wedding day its a declaration of war for the families. As the story unfolds there are many twists that were not foreseen along with a great deal of drama, romance, and betrayal. This story was a good one, and a great way to start the series. I am eager for what’s next.

Finally Elena and Marco!! This is the fourth book and while you can jump in here, you will miss the lead up to these two characters. A lot of background is covered in previous books. So the Mafia is tough and the Mafia sons are even tougher, but these Mafia daughters are no joke. They have not just seen the danger, but lived it. You immediately know when they are strapping weapons to their thigh that things have gotten out of hand before and they learned to be prepared. We know Elena’s name. She was often referred to in the other books but now we get to know her. She was definitely my favorite. Danger, secrets, and loyalties collide. I could not put this book down!

This was the firs book I have read from this author. I usually don’t read this type of book, but I thought I would read it because I do enjoy reading mafia books. And this book did not disappoint. It was very well written and kept me interested the whole way thou that I finished it in a day. I was captivated by the story line and the characters in the book that I couldn’t stop reading it. The chemistry between Aly and Luca was intense and even thou they’re families are sworn enemies they still didn’t care and wanted to be together. This book was dark, action-packed, tragic, steamy, on your edge of your seat read. I really hope that there will be more books to this story.

This was a really good book. This was a quick, steamy and violent book. This is an enemies to lovers, mafia romance. This book was enthralling and entertaining and had a good storyline. However I had a bit of a hard time getting into it because at times it seemed like the timeline would get messed up, or wouldn’t be made clear, and I just felt like there could have been some more filler scenes and information to make it easier to digest. I overall really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next installment. Just be warned this is a dark romance, with explicit scenes and violence.
I don’t know how to feel about this book. It wasn’t the best but it wasn’t the worst. The plot was good but it was all steam not much build or burn. Now I have never DNF’d a book and I am determined not to ….this almost got it. Maybe because I’m a mood reader the characters didn’t catch me but I enjoyed the story itself. This was a love hate type of book and the fact it’s a series had me determined to finish and again I just don’t know how to feel. It just seemed a bit chaotic. This gave great tension but I lost my place a lot trying to figure out if I missed something. Warning it’s third person. That is not for me. I would recommend this for smut, for good story no. This fell flat for me. I am sorry, I am going to reread this soon maybe I just wasn’t in the mood.
Sinful Vow is the first book in the Dark Mafia Sins series. I have read book 2, and didn’t even realize this was from the same series until the very end. So clearly, I like this series, and now I want to read them all. They don’t have to be read in order, and can be enjoyed as stand alone. I was back and forth on if I wanted to read this book- I didn’t like the idea of Luca “stealing” Aly, but I love reading Mafia romance books. I am glad I took the chance, because it wasn’t as gruesome and awful of an event as it sounds. I really liked the development of the characters, and their relationship. I don’t want to give things away, but there is more to the story than the brief description lets on. While Luca is a mobster, killer, criminal, etc, he is also kind of sweet. Aly is strong and I love the life she built for herself. Highly recommend this book (and series) and can’t wait to get the next book in my hands.

Amy McKinley is one of the true greats I swear. Every book I find of hers is always my new fave! The story of Marco and Elena is wild, exciting, scary, and hot hot hot! While it took me a long while to get into this one, Michele Sims did deliver with good character building and great attention to detail. I believe that I would have grasped this book a little better had I read the previous books in the Moore Family Saga, although the information states it can be read as a standalone. I just felt like I was missing some crucial information when I read Face the Fire. I did enjoy the elements included that involved the ups and downs of managing various artists in the music business. It seems like a business that very few are truly cut out for. Couple those ups and downs with the paranormal aspect in the lives of Miles and Bella and you have a pretty entertaining book. Although this was not a favorite of mine, it was still a good story and I look forward to reading more from Michele Sims.

Marco is the boss of his family and Elena has been in hiding. They have known one another most of their lives but she was promised to someone else. Thankfully things happen to change that and wow.
I know these characters are Crime bosses and Mafia Princesses bit I absolutely love each and every one of them.

What an introduction to this series. The sparks started the moment they met and worked their way up into a very hot and volatile relationship.
I have had some nights recently it was hard to sleep so I decided to read, huge mistake. Instead of helping my quiet down enough to sleep I got sucked in and had a hard time putting it down.
There was something intriguing about Luca from the very beginning and the more I learned about him the more intrigued I was.
I have had the pleasure of reading this author before and look forward to getting caught up on this series.

This book has romantic suspense as well as sports. The author does a good job of mixing these two and makes a great sports romance.

I loved this story. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is my first book from this author and I can’t wait to read the rest of her books.
This author has quickly become one of my favorite authors. This mafia romance series has quickly become one of my favorite series and I simply can’t wait for out author to give us more. This story was filled with drama, angst, enemies to lovers, and so much more that I devoured it in one sitting. Luca is the perfect leading man with his hight, brilliant blue eyes, and his sexy smile. While Aly is smart and strong, and while she is the illegitimate child of the Mancini family she is still watched and protected by her father. What happens when these two enemies become lovers? You’ll have to read this story to find out for yourself.
Getting out of a failed marriage, Brynn throws a dart at the map and ends up in Astoria Bay to make a new start. Putting her photography first for a change she barely makes the rent, but refuses to go back to her family in shame. Winning tickets to the town’s NHL team gives Brynn a chance to immerse herself in some local community. She gets called down to make a charity shot during half time where she was flustered and hits the captain in the balls with the stick. Levi is the captain of the Astoria Bay NHL team. His media profiles give away nothing personal. Brynn and Levi both feel as if they know each other from another time, could it be? This was a great second chance romance. There were steamy scenes and laugh out lout scenes. Looking forward to meeting more of the team in the upcoming stories.
