I am so glad I gave this book a chance. It was exactly what I needed! Werewolves, fae, dragons, arranged marriage etc. This book has it all. And it kept me hooked from the start. I just couldn’t put it down. It is written in first person point of view and I think that was perfect for this book. I really enjoyed how we got to know each character better as the book went on, just like in real life. If you want a book that’s going to suck you in then this is it!

This is a collection of short stories featuring shifters. I liked the premise of most of the collection and could see that there was potential had some of them been more developed but I felt that the shortness minimised the impact they could have had. There is one that gets quick dark, I’m not opposed to dark or triggering content, but this may not be for everyone so if that is the case, this may not be the right book for you. Some of the shorts appear rushed and end abruptly and the characters aren’t as developed as I usually prefer but this being said I still enjoyed reading this collection. I can certainly see the potential and the directions these could take with a little more fleshing out and the plots themselves are interesting. Overall an interesting collection, with great potential.
This is the 6th book in the Tom Grant Series. This book was enjoyable as a standalone however I feel if I read them from the beginning I would get even more enjoyment out of the characters and the story. This is a crime thriller. Filled with dangers, twists and turns, hidden agendas and a feeling of not knowing who you can trust. After leaving his position in the agency Tom is dragged back against his will when his ex partner has 2 woman turn up on his door. Both of them are victims of the human trafficking ring and there is a 3rd woman who holds information on the human trafficking ring that is in danger. Now it is a race against time to save the other woman and stop the boss of the human trafficking ring before she can harm anyone else.
This is a fast paced gripping story that I couldn’t put down. I am looking forward to going back in the series and reading from the beginning as this type of series is definately what I enjoy reading.

I’ve been on a wolf kick lately so the title alone piqued my interest. Then I noticed the stunning artwork on the book cover and I was sold.
The author is new to me so I was excited to start this fantasy series. Especially since it revolves around different paranormal shifter groups in addition to humans: dragons, werewolves, and fae.
We watch the different groups converge upon the illustrious Bastion Academy. When different strong willed groups are placed in close quarters with each other, the expected chaos ensues. So you find just about every aspect popping up throughout the storyline which makes for a very addictive reading experience. All the drama, adventure, romance and bit of camaraderie sprinkled through this book.
I loved how the author built up the drama and suspense between the different characters, as well as developing a brilliant new world that readers will learn more about throughout this book series. I cannot wait to read the next book. I believe readers across all genres and generations can find themselves enjoying this book.

The Human Mating Site Box Set 1 is novella’s 1-4 in this 13 novella series and quite fun to read. If you like sizzling romance, drama, supportive friendships, flirting and a woman on a journey on self discovery and each novella builds on that journey for Bella. I highly recommend reading this series.
When Bella’s marriage heads down the drain all because of her husband “Mr. Wimp”, Bella turns to her best friends and learns it is ok to start a new chapter in her life. Once the lies and deceit come to a head, Bella finally becomes the person she lost along the way. When Bella meets “Mr. Smooth” aka Liam , she learns she has been missing out on so much when it comes to not only learning to love herself, but also what she has been missing when it comes to pleasure…..Liam can only offer fun and Bella is not looking for anything more. The Uncrowned King was SOO INCREDIBLE! I finished the Blood Prince and immediately dove into the Uncrowned King, and it only got better. I could not stop reading. The world building is just as great in the 2nd as the first, the characters are just as loveable or hateable. The hateable ones? Yeah. REALLY hate them. So much passion and emotion in this book, I was literally in tears at the end. I cannot wait for the next one! Great job by Ayla Marie! Will definitely be on the lookout for more from her!

I LOVED the Blood Prince by Ayla Marie! The majority of the book is from Leo’s POV as he struggles to keep his family safe in a world where none of them are wanted or allowed to be. The very first chapter hooks you in and is a page turner. The world building is great and the characters pull you in. I dove into the second book literally as soon as I finished the first. Cannot wait for the next! 10/10, would definitely recommend and will be reading it again!

I had previous read Mr. Wimp, but was more than happy to re read it all over again in order in the box set for the first 4 books. I can’t which I liked best so far, it might be Mr. Heartless at the end. I can’t figure out what Bella and Liam are thinking, the chemistry between them is so off the charts, they would be so good together. But, I like that Bella is out there finding herself again after her marriage to Joel. Of course you have to kiss a few toads first, and Bella is put through it with some of these men. The ending of this set has me dying for the next book! I can’t wait to see where Bella’s journey leads her or rather who her journey leads her to. I think I’m still going to hold out for her and Liam working out permanently but, then again, who is this Nathan character that seems familiar?

Hope For A New World (Gaia’s Voice Series) is a Sci-Fi Fantasy that is told in many different POV with multiple characters. I honestly didn’t know what to expect going in but I was intrigued by the cover and the blurb caught my attention. I had a hard time connecting with the characters and just felt like it bounced around to much. I really wanted to like this story but just didn’t. I’m hoping the next book will capture for me what this on one lacked. I will say I found this book to be very interesting and some of the information was new to me. This author is fairly new to me and even though this book didn’t make the cut im still looking forward to what the rest of this series turns out to be. If you like Sci-Fi Fantasy then id recommend reading this book.

I love the playlist at the beginning of the book. I also love that each chapter has a quote at theme beginning. Book 2 was even more entertaining than the first. There’s always the fear that King will go back on his word but seeing how much he really does care about her and does his best to protect her is endearing. He’s changing for the better. The cruelty of Kings brothers was intense and I felt Ava’s fear. So trigger warning to anyone who has trauma around violence.

Shifter Shorts by T.K. Lawyer is a bit of a nibble platter of bite-sized morsels of tempting tasty treats. Having read and enjoyed several of Ms. Lawyer’s stories in the past few years, I thought I knew what to expect… but she surprised me (in a good way). This is a collection of six short paranormal romance stories bundled into one. The collection of stories are all shifter romance and range from friends to lovers, to darker more dangerous tones, sprinkled with some sweetness, a little sexiness, some spice, a touch of creepy tension, intriguing developments, gargoyles, wolves, cats, sharks, and hellhounds- just to name a few. ‘Gargoyle Mine’ was definitely my favourite- but I was surprised by the shark shifter story- ‘Haven’ as I had not read another shark-shifter story before, and wasn’t sure I would like it- but Ms. Lawyer has given me a taste for something new. While I did enjoy the collection, I felt like I wanted more. There were times I felt like the story was rushed, or abrupt. I think these stories are ones I would like to read longer, meatier versions of- as there are a lot of intriguing possibilities here. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Lawyer does next. I really enjoy the Winemakers Series and this short additional story is no different. The Scent of Snow brings one of my favorite characters in this series back to front and center. I love the storyline and the stories this author tells. The character development is wonderful to behold. Pedro is back and unfortunately he still feels broken. Having redeemed himself in some light, he still feels broken and unworthy in other light. Which is killing him because it means he’s disappointing his wife Anne. All Anne desires is her husband’s child, however he refuses to grant her that wish. But he won’t tell her why, just keeps telling her she’s young and they have plenty of time. It’s Christmas and Pedro and Anne are hosting her family and close friend. As well as Cris, Pedro’s brother, should be returning home as well. Will Pedro ever feel healed/whole? Will Anne ever get the child she desires? It’s hard not to keep writing but I don’t want to spoil everything. Like I said this book is significantly shorter than the others. So there’s only so much one can say without spoiling it. I will say this, you can read this story on its own; however I suggest you at least read Pedro and Anne’s story first. This is just an addition to that original story.

This book is a bit different from the other books that I have read by this author. I would age it at probably a second or third grade level as it is a chapter book. I read this with my son who also enjoys this author. This story stayed interesting while still utilizing the underlying lessons this author is so famous for. This book is a well written fantasy world with great characters.

The conclusion of this series comes to us in the form of this novella. Pedro and Anne have been married for a couple of years now and it’s coming upon the Christmas season. Anne’s family is coming to visit and Pedro is just overjoyed at their arrival (insert mass sarcasm here). Things have been going well for Anne and Pedro except for one thing….Pedro is refusing to give Anne the one thing she wants most. As the family starts to arrive, Pedro receives some unexpected news that will cause a shift in his demeanor and have Anne wondering what could possibly be up with him. Can Christmas be saved and the bridge that is gulfing this couple be mended?
It’s another great historical read and one that still has me a little leery of Pedro. He’s been growing on me since first meeting him in The True Purpose of Vines but I’m still not completely won over by him yet. I’m hoping his and Anne’s story is not done yet and that they will make cameo appearances in future books.
This book can be read as a standalone. I would encourage you to read the entire series in order though so you have a good history of Pedro!

Nessie and the Living Stone was a really cute read. I read it to my girls before bed time and they really enjoyed it! My oldest is having a hard time with sharing and being selfish and was really able to spot that in Craig since we’ve been working with her on it. All three girls were able to see difference in attitudes between Craig and Linda in how nice he was towards her at the end. A fun story and good way for kiddos to learn these lessons!

Hope For A New World (Gaia’s Voice Series) by Renee W Peek. This is a sci -fi, fantasy novel which is not my favorite genre but I really enjoyed this book. It tackles the topic of the environment and the place we all play in the destruction of it. Its the story of Maddison Bear’s Heart who has just become a environmental lawyer and its at the perfect time. The Hopi people believe the Earth is ending as we know it and they need Maddison to speak to Gaia, Mother Earth. They find out there is another plant willing to take them but they have to leave some behind. Along with selfish wants of others the people on the spaceship are in danger. Just like in the real world there are snakes that will take you down along the way, the same is said for this spaceship. Will Maddison be able to help them get the message they need to Gaia and will Gaia take heed to save the place they love. This is a book you need to pay attention to because there are a lot of moving parts and if you don’t pay attention you might get lost but invest in it because it is such a great story!

My kiddos and I absolutely love this author, and I never hesitate to pick their books up! This was a wonderful chapter book about Nessie, the Loch Ness monster. One of our characters, Craig, is determined to catch Nessie while his little mischievous sister Linda is throwing his plans off at each turn. Will Craig eventually get his wish, or will he find something that changes his mind? I feel like this author did a great job of captivating readers! This is the first chapter book I’ve picked up by them, but we still enjoyed it just as much as their picture books. Both of my kids, ages 8 and 12, really liked reading this as they love all animals. It sparked a nice conversation between us about nature and wildlife. I highly recommend sharing this with the younger ones in your life!

3 stars There is a *content warning*. I love anything paranormal, and I have read several of TK’s books and enjoyed them, so it was a no brainer when I saw this book was out. Shifter Shorts is collection of 6 short stories full of sexy shifters and their fated mates but the road to love is never straight forward. The stories are so short that some feel like they are over before they begin. This book may not be for everyone or should I say some of the stories may not be for everyone. What I like about T.K. Lawyer’s stories are that they are a little different and this is full of that. There are fighting couples, some wimpy and some undecided heroines that I wanted to shake, some had characters that I liked and others I didn’t, some that I wanted a bit more erotic and some a bit more love, some flow better than others and some don’t, some are dark and others darker, and all had danger of some kind. It is TK’s fresh take on characters that are sexy and stubborn shifter Alphas, but not your typical shifter types, there are gargoyles, hellhounds, cats, sharks and more that would do anything for the love of a good woman. They are whimsical short shot tales as I like to call them or bite sized tales that were intriguing enough to keep me reading. I like reading something a little different and that’s what these tales are. All in all, you should give this collection a go as you may be missing out on some good stories. Step out of your comfort zone and give it a try.
4.5 stars Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns is a fun YA fantasy romance series. Wolf is an enemies to lover’s tale and the first book in that series. RC Reigh is a new author to me and one that I will continue to read her work. 7 Sovereigns, 7 couples and each get their own stories. It is set in the medieval enchanted magical Academy, Bastion where mayhem runs rife, and rivals come together to learn but can they be trusted. It’s not a place that is all fun and games. This unique and magical world that RC has created has something for everyone, fated mates, werewolves and dragon shifters, Fae, Princesses, Witches, Necromancers, villains, magic, competitions, quests, and arranged marriages. It is vividly rich in detail making it so easy to imagine this unique world that RC has created. The story is told in multiple POV which I love because we get to learn so much more about the characters. It’s my favourite way to have a story told. The storyline is well written and is as interesting as it is intriguing just as the characters are. Join Dane the strong alpha wolf shifter and Amelia a headstrong princess who navigate their way through their rocky arranged courting and hopefully find all they never knew they truly wanted. There are several twisty plots along with treason, secrets, lies, angst, tension, suspense, romance, violence and danger, that keep you glued to the pages as we follow along on their exciting journey. It’s not just YA’s that will enjoy this book but anyone who loves a good fantasy tale. I can’t wait to read more of the seven kingdoms. Bring on the next book, Dragons.

5 stars Human Mating Site Box Set 1 is 4 fab Rom Com’s altogether. They are the first 4 Novellas in a 13-part novella series the Human Mating Site. They are extremely quick reads packed full of sexy fun. It is a great series but with only a few pages in each book I flew through them and read them in one sitting. I was sad to see them end because I was enjoying them so much and I want more. They need to be longer. Mr. Wimp is the first book in the box set. Who doesn’t love a good story where the MC loves to read and loves her hot and steamy books and wants to play out her fantasies? It is the story of Bella as she navigates the online dating world once again as her cheating, low life husband Mr. Wimp blames her for their woes when it is all his fault. Revenge is sweet. Throw in some amazing and loving friends, some hand holding, dancing, and lots of wine, flirting, some great and liberating sex, some alpha hot and sexy men and some witty banter that will have you laughing out loud then you have yourself a super spicy tale. I am sure there are lots of women out there that can relate to this story.
Bella’s search for Mr. Right continues in Mr. Smooth the second book in the Human Mating site series. The anti is upped along with the spice. I just wish there was a little bit more into the sex scenes. Online dating has never been so fun. It is a quick, fun and sexy read. Liam is one man to show you what you have been missing out on. Have a few fantasies, he’s your man. He knows how to burn up the sheets and Bella is just the woman to let him, but he wants her to see just how beautiful and desired she is first. Insert sigh……….. I mean what a man right, even if he is a player. Things may just get a little messy when there are two men involved. Damn cliff hangers….
Mr. Player is the third instalment in the Human Mating Site novella series and the last book in this box set. I love and am addicted to this series! but I wish that the stories where longer than just sound bites. Ok they are a bit long but aaaarghhhhhhh. Sadly, Bella is moving on from Liam. Jack may be dubbed Mr Player, but he is all about himself in the bedroom. He seems to be good at saying the right things but when they get down to business, he doesn’t look so good on paper. When Bella and her girls decide on a holiday, she runs into someone that may be too good to be true. Let the fun continue. But not before another cliff hanger.
Bring on Mr. Kinky! “What a man, what a man, what a mighty fine man.” The steam and spice hot up as Jensen shows Bella there is more to pleasure if it is done in a safe setting. When she gets a taste of BDSM she learns a bit more about herself. The break she had with her friends, some alcohol and a few romps with Mr Kinky is just what she needed. This is probably my favourite book so far in the series. Gaahhhhh! Cliffhangers! Anywho who is behind the door? As I said before there are 13 novellas all together in the Human Mating Site series and I can’t wait to get stuck into them all.

This is a cute book for elementary age kids. The art work is beautiful, and the story is definitely creative. Craig and Linda are on vacation with their parents to Loch Ness. While their parents are focused on work and business, Craig and Linda are focused on finding Nessie. The children believe that they see her following an earthquake, and they want to find her again. The magic woven throughout the story by Wickstrom, as only she can do, makes this a read that is great for children, but is also fun for the adults reading along with them.

4.5 stars Giovanna has constantly surprised me with her historical romance series The Winemakers. The Scent of Snow can be read as a standalone, but you really should read the other books before it. This lovely 1870’s Victorian story The Scent of Snow is set at a the most magical time of year, Christmas in Portugal. As with the other books in the series this book is steeped in history, traditions and cultures and the love of winemaking. Giovanna’s writing is passionate and rich in historical detail, descriptions, and world building, that captures your heart. It is told in dual POV as we learn more about who they are.
Pedro and Anne’s story continues as characters from previous books all come together to celebrate Christmas. It is fun and magical full of hope, dreams, wants, needs, drama, compassion and passion, tenderness, love, lots of emotions, sugar and spice, chemistry and romance. But what Anne wants Pedro is not sure he can give her. So where does that leave them you ask. Well pick up the book and have a read of this beautifully written story.

This is the first set of books following Bella’s life after her husband decides he doesn’t want to be with her anymore. Personally Mr Smooth and Mr Kinky were my favorites. Bella was stuck in a marriage for so many years and now she’s free to rest the waters and see what’s out there. Her mind of blown by the types of guys around and the ones who are willing to worship her body. I love how she gets to go out there and experience all life has to offer her as a newly single woman. She’s not looking for anything long term just a few casual hookups. I almost hope at the end she ends up with Mr Smooth because he is infact Smooth haha

This book is a must read for parents who have small children and are getting them their first dog. It gives tips on training dogs and entertaining them. My son really enjoyed this book as well so that’s a win for my family.

This book goes through all of the different ways that CJ and Lora can play safely and happily with their furry friends, from hunting for treats, walks which are full of new sights, smells and friends all the way to doggy sports and being tactile.
This is a must read for all families who are either thinking of owning a dog, or already have one so that they can teach children how to play safely and join in the excitement which Porter and Midge experience in their own journeys to perfect playtimes.

Craig and Linda are brother and sister, and they are on a family holiday to Loch Ness, far away from their bustling home city of Birmingham, but the one thing they haven’t yet done is see the Loch Ness Monster, or Nessie for short and they are going home in a couple of days.
So far, they have gone down to the lakeside, but they haven’t seen anything and just get shouted at by the coast guard instead, not to mention that their parents have the owner of where they are staying watching their every move, until one day that changes, and the two children find Nessie!
The only thing is that Craig feels like Linda is slowing him down, but she won’t let him go on this adventure by himself, especially when they meet a mermaid who leads them into a Viking pirate trap, however, they manage to escape and find Nessie’s Grotto, but this is where Craig finds out that he must make a decision, save Nessie’s Grotto and possibly risk his own life in the process, or save himself and let the Loch Ness Monster become just another myth, but what will he choose?
This is a whirlwind adventure beneath the waters where myth and reality combine to create an unexplored land, all while teaching some good moral lessons all at the same time, a book well worth reading for all ages.
