When I started reading this book, I expected a fairly exciting read with a focus on the romantic story. What ai actually got felt like so much more. The story is fast paced, action packed and a brilliant read right from the word go. It was so well developed and the author got the pace of the story just right. I loved reading about these characters. Their connection was instant and really carried them through everything going on. The plot was full of twists and turns at every stage, which really made the book so much more exciting. As the first book in a series, this shows such potential and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next ones.

The Round Box is the second fun children’s book in the Grandma’s Closet series. Grandma has some exciting and unusual things in her boxes in her closet. I remember sneaking into the cupboard when young to play dress up with the things in my Nan’s closet and this book brings back those memories. Lois writes stories that stir the imagination in young and old. When reading to my grandsons I love the way their little minds work as they add their own spin on things. Carrie opens another box in her grandma’s closet and discovered a wonderous had that helped her feel not so sad that she was missing her grandma. Grab a copy and read to loved ones as they will enjoy the adventure along with Carrie.
4.5 stars Be aware that this story could cause triggers. It contains a violent assault. Good Enough is Nicole Craig’s debut book and the first book in the romantic suspense series Deadman’s Tribe. This is one author to look out for. I see good things for her. It is great start to what promises to be a great series. I do love me some good alpha sexy military-security Navy SEAL men stories. Nicole seamlessly weaved a fast-paced twisty plot and multiple storylines that leaves you breathless right the way through. The story flowed effortlessly and seamlessly show casing just how good this author is at telling a great story. Good Enough is filled with intrigue, danger, tension and suspense that jumps from the page leaving me engrossed with every twist and turn. I loved the fully developed, complex and well written strong characters, the alpha men of the Deadman team, the loyalty, the comradery and banter and the strong heroine often had me laughing. The story is engaging is at times heartfelt, heartbreaking and heartwarming. I am not giving away any spoilers I want you to discover Nicole’s work in all its glory for yourselves. I can’t wait to read the next book; I am addicted to the Deadman’s Tribe!

This is book 1 in the Deadman’s Tribe series and also the author’s debut novel. This was a amazing read. I was gripped from the beginning and it didn’t let me go. The author does an amazing job with the story, the twists and turns really made this a story I couldn’t stop reading and the characters were so well developed I couldn’t help but be dragged into their story. The main characters were well matched. Our leading male was everything I love in a leading man, strong, protective, determined to protect no matter the cost and what I also loved is that our leading lady is just as determined and can take care of herself. She is certainly not someone who will wait for a man to come and save her which only makes her more appealing to our leading man.
Kai Serrano is a Hollywood director who needs the assistance of a Navy SEAL for her film to make it as real as possible. When she meets Waters the spark between them starts from the first meeting but she is too busy to be distracted by a man even one that takes her breath away.
Waters feels the connection too but he isn’t pleased when he is put forward as the candidate to assist her but something isn’t right and Waters and his boss both sense it. When filming starts things start to happen. Accidents on set happen more than they should, things go missing and to top it all Kai’s brother gets kidnapped. Waters feels that Kai is in danger but from what or who is the problem. Now he has to use all his expertise to protect her even though she can’t see the danger around her. Can they work together to solve the mystery of who wants her and why without losing themselves to the chemistry and fire between them?
This is a fast paced, action packed suspense romance that I couldn’t put down. I am really looking forward to seeing what the author has in store for us next.

This is the first book in the Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns series. The fact that the blurb describes this as a mix between GOT, LOTR and Pride and Prejudice had me wanting to read this immediately. Some of my top favourites combined, I had very high hopes! This book did not disappoint. There were great characters and a plot I thoroughly enjoyed. The pairing of Amelia and Dane was great, their interactions and concept behind their relationship was interesting and engaging. Other character, Cora for example, were also brilliant and I hope to see more of all of them throughout the series! The world building was creative and in depth. I enjoyed the setting of the magical academy and how it was set up nicely for future novels. I loved this world, the plot, the author’s writing style and the characters. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series!

The Uncrowned King by Ayla Marie is the second book in The Blood Prince Trilogy. Definitely read these books in order as they are not stand alone. I do not want to give to much away. But this book picks up where the first left off. Following Leo and his siblings as they navigate the new world of Illena that they now find themselves in. This book is full to the brim with action and intrigue and you will not want to put it down. 5 out of 5 stars!

Sweet Dreams by Claire (Capture the Light Series) by Nanette Littlestone. This is such a sweet contemporary romance. Its the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone! Its the story of Claire who has grown up in her parents bakery. She is older now and ready to branch out on her own but her mother won’t let her. Claire feels like her mom & dad’s bakery is just plain and she wants to branch out on her own with new and different stuff. She is also dealing with local resident Brigid’s wedding and her demands. In the meantime she also meets Finn who is Brigid’s sister and they have wild chemistry. The more time Claire spends with Finn the more they come to care about each other. Claire wants to be more adventuresome and live her life the way she wants but she also feels tied to her parents. With Finn only being in town for the wedding what will become of his relationship with Claire? Such a fun romance to start out the new year!

The Blood Prince by Ayla Marie is the first book of two. The first half of the book is told from Leo’s perspective. He is a mercenary and extremely dangerous. His parents are past and he does everything he can to protect his siblings. When one of his siblings turns out to have the same powers that make him so dangerous, they must flee to live. This story is so immersive and incredible. Their story is all about persevering through difficult times. I highly recommend this story and look forward to seeing what else this author does in the future. 4 out of 5 stars.

I enjoyed reading this suspenseful story. This is not my first book by this author and this is a series that I enjoy reading. This is the sixth book in the series which is just as great as the previous books. I highly suggest reading the previous books as well, it will help your enhancement of this author’s writing skills and the characters. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. I enjoyed how the author used details to pull me into the character’s lives. They are connectable and keep the story engaging. There is great growth throughout the story which just adds to the story’s entertainment. The twist and turns had me turning pages fast just to see what would happen next. This is a fast paced story that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book and this series.

What a fun book! This is part of the Grandma’s Closet series. Carrie is looking for something fun to do and can’t find anyone to do it with. She remembers the boxes that Grandma left. It’s amazing what a round box marked with Fascinator can do for your imagination. I find the way that the author highlights the action words to point out the movements. Carrie is having fun just looking for fun. The way the author also points out the adjectives like different and unusual shows that using your imagination is okay. Being creative is a good thing. This is a wonderful book and my family always looks forward to new ones from this author. Reading and fun go together so well.
The Round Box is the second book in the Grandma’s Closet’ series by Lois Wickstrom. It is an interesting, illustrated children’s storybook- with a bit of adventure, a touch of drama, a little whimsy, and plenty of imagination. Grandma has some interesting things stored in the closet. What does Carrie find this time? Carrie opens the FASCINATOR box- and finds a special hat that looks like a boat. What happens makes for a cute read. As with the first book in the series- I loved the cover illustration, but was disappointed to find that the interior illustrations are not of the same type/style. The inner illustrations, although quite whimsical in a naïve style- weren’t quite as ‘interesting’ or appealing to me- and I don’t feel that they draw or hold your attention like the cover picture does. The cover picture made me want to find out what happens and captured my imagination- but the inside pictures were a bit lacking- in my opinion. Good Enough is the first book in The Deadman’s Tribe and debut novel by Nicole Craig. I was immediately hooked by the blurb of this book, not realising that it was the author’s debut novel. I had already let my ‘one-click’ finger loose and snapped up a copy before I realised that this was the author’s first book. That made me even more curious to see what she could do. So I found a comfy spot, coffee in hand, and set off on the ’adventure’. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by what I found- engrossed in the story right from the get-go, I wasn’t even halfway through when I decided that I would definitely be keeping a close eye on Ms. Craig and will pounce on anything else she releases. This proved to be a cleverly woven story with a multilayered storyline. Ms. Craig crafted a superb romantic suspense with a protective alpha-type MC, a strong & sassy FMC, a security/military element, with plenty of dramatic developments, twists & turns, chemistry, sparks, connection, danger, violence, tension, intrigue, intensity, mystery, secrets, action, humour, emotion, and more. I loved how well-developed the characters were, and how they were masterfully constructed into fully-realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. I loved the cheeky, funny banter, quips, and the team/character’s camaraderie. Getting an alternating, duel POV added depth and intrigue to the story, and I loved being privy to the characters inner dialogue- it really added an extra element of interest to the whole story. This first book has definitely given me a taste for more, and I can’t wait to find out more about the tribe as the series progresses. If you love protective alpha-types, a military/security team vibe, romantic suspense with an engrossing storyline, chemistry, and sparks- then you will definitely want to grab a copy of this to explore… Bring on ‘Bad Enough’ (Book #2 – which is TB’s story). I have to be up front and say I am not usually a short story reader, for some reason I often have trouble connecting properly in a short storyline so I sometimes wonder if that impacts my reading experience. This author however, presents the reader with a real mix of stories with hot shifter alphas and fated mates that I did enjoy. None are what you might typically expect and I love that. Don’t go into reading this with any preconceived ideas, simply start reading and enjoy this fun and unusual collection of stories.

A Heart So Savage is the duet that goes with A King So Savage, the question is where did we leave off? I actually liked this book better than the first one. Both are very dark but have breaks of light in them. This one definitely has a bit more light. The author pretty much picks up where the previous book left off. Ava’s brother has decided not to pay, sealing her fate. She now belongs to Kingston completely, mind, body, and soul. Which doesn’t sit well with her. He’s a monster that flirts with pleasure and pain. Yet she is confused because she enjoys it. Will she stay or find a way out? Kingston makes it his mission to keep Ava safe. And even though he’s not safe, she’s safest with him. Now that he has his prize, he knows that his brother as well as Ava’s will stop at nothing to destroy him. They don’t care that Ava will be a casualty in their wake. One problem he needs to remain the vicious beast of his reputation, but Ava’s changing him. Will his attraction and affection for her be his downfall? As stated at the beginning this is book 2 of a duet. You need to read book 1 first, you will be sorely disappointed if you don’t. I don’t usually like books that have these types of dark themes but these two were pretty good. The author made sure of that.

Sweet Dreams by Claire: A Small Town Feel-Good Delicious Irish Romance (Capture the Light, Book 2)
This was a sweet and enjoyable introduction to Ms. Littlestone and her writing. I got lost in the story and had to be reminded to put it down.
Claire made the Mama in me want to hold and encourage her to follow all of her dreams. She has such an amazing talent in the kitchen and I hated to see her talents stiffled. Thankfully she has her Grandmother there for support and love and to guide her where she needs to be.
Finn is in a similar situation as Claire with having his dreams dismissed by his parent. He meets Claire while there for his sister’s wedding.
They have fun, get in trouble and fall for one another. He is so good for her, he grounds her and helps her let loose and heal.
This can be read as a standalone, but there is information and details in the first book that would be helpful to know. I will go back to read the first one and keep and eye out any new books.

Both of these books kept me glued to the pages and I had a hard time putting them down. This author never fails to amaze me with her writing style and ability to pull me into the stories. Bryanna and Damien’s story. Damien works for an elite security team and he is tasked to find Bryanna. Damien had no idea that he would feel so strongly toward her when he found her. Bryanna would do anything to keep her family safe. She wants to trust Damien but doesn’t know if she can. This is a must read to find out what happens. Dereck and Layla’s story. When Dereck was asked to do a favor he definitely wasn’t prepared to encounter a feisty woman. Layla doesn’t trust anyone and she will do anything to save her sister and friend. The chemistry between these is undeniable. I don’t want to give anything away so I’m just going to say this is a must read. Both of these stories have great characters, suspense, romance, danger and more. I highly recommend reading this.

The Uncrowned King is the second book in The Blood Prince Series by Ayla Marie and it is just as exciting and emotional as the first! This book continues where the first left off and finds Leo and his family in Arkezo, the home of his father and other blood relatives. Leo, Cael, and the others are trying to navigate a new city, lots of new information regarding Leo’s lineage and the history between the different people, as well as dealing with more loss. At times, I almost felt overwhelmed with emotion myself. There are just as many twists and turns in this story as the first and it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book! Ayla Marie’s world building is spectacular! The sights, sounds, and smells of the city permeate off the page to transport the reader into the story. Not to give too much away, but it seems as though Leo’s story will continue and I am anxiously awaiting when it does!

5/5 stars This is book 2 in this series and it’s a great continuation of the series. Just as detailed and action packed as the first one. Where some series fall off after the first book, I can tell this series will just keep getting better.

5/5 stars This is book one in this series and it set the tone. The world building is phenomenal and the characters have so much depth. The storyline is very solid and intriguing. There’s a lot of action in this book that keeps you interested!

Ayla Marie is a new author for me, and definitely one I will read again! The Blood Prince is the first of two books focused on Leo and his family. There is so much more emotion in this book than I was suspecting. Leo’s bond with his siblings is so pure and they are all so protective of one another; it’s amazing to feel through the pages of a book. The characters are so realistically flawed and believable that I couldn’t help but feel connected to them somehow. This young adult fantasy was not a quick read, but rather, one to curl up with and immerse yourself in. The world building of Ayla Marie is as fantastical as the content of the story! I found myself walking through the woods with the Hael family, wandering the filthy streets of Somereil, and exploring the wonder of the city of Wate. There were so many twists to this adventure that I was kept on my toes throughout the entirety of the book. I cannot wait to read the next book!

Wow. And I do mean wow. This story did not leave anything out. Every detail is perfectly placed to bring you into the scenes. You’ll feel for Ava but then you’ll feel for Kingston but lord the heat will bring you to your knees. I can’t wait to read the second in this series. Will Ava be King’s or will her brother save her? What can she do to rid of herself of this life?

In this second installment in the series, we learn so much more about Kingston and his childhood. The contract is signed and Ava belongs to him now but will she be ruined? Or will she teach her modern day Beast to love? I enjoyed this story as much as the first. It is very sexual though so beware if you aren’t into stories like that.
