This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I have to say that I am so glad I found it. I knew from the blurb I was in for a great read but I was truly blown away with how much I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down until I reached the end so I read it in one sitting. It has everything I look for in my favorite romance stories. It’s a bit different with us getting the story from Frank’s point of view, which is a nice change. I laughed out loud more than once and was making sure my fan was close by often. The characters are complex and believable, you can’t help but connect with them. It’s well written and a must read! Can’t wait to see where the author takes readers next! Giving this story a five star review and highly recommend it.

Book 1 in the Smirk Series is a funny romantic comedy told from the male’s point of view. Set in wine country, it’s the story of two people who are similar and appreciate each other. A lovely change of pace for the rom-com.
The dialog between Frank and Mikey is laugh out loud funny. My husband got mad a couple of times because I guffawed while he was trying to sleep. I tried to disguise it as an awkward sneeze, but he saw right through me.
While this is a rom-com, it had a complexity and a sophistication about it. There are a lot of characters and they are all developed and important to moving the story along. The backdrop of the winery was a nice setting and I appreciated the nuances between the grapes and the characters. (i.e. fungus-nasty ex)
It was a quick and easy read and I flew right through it from beginning to end. This is the first time I’ve read this author and I am following so I can be sure and get the next installment of the series.

This wonderful story by Jen Luerssen is a romantic comedy. It is a book that I enjoyed reading. It hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the last page. It had me with a smile on my face and in some cases laughing out loud. Some conversations I read had me falling off the couch laughing and holding my side. The innuendos come at a fast pace in this story. I enjoyed reading about Frank and Mikey. Frank is a musician. He is not shy about that he is grumpy and seems to always fall for the wrong woman. Then he meets Mikey. Mikey is a winemaker. She is smart, strong, and independent. These two have more in common than a lot of couples. It seems more like fate than coincidence that they find each other. These two are attracted to each other and there is a connection between them. Will they keep things between them casual or will emerging feelings lead to something more? What does the future hold for Frank and Mikey? Read this book to find out. I loved the bantering back and forth that goes on between Frank, Mikey, and the other characters that you are introduced to. There is playful bantering, flirting, and even dirty talking. Steamy scenes are included in this book that will have the temperature in the room rising. This is a wonderfully written story that has some amazing and interesting characters. Recommended reading.

This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it from beginning to the end. This story took me on on a roller coaster of emotions from laughter to feeling compassion. I enjoyed the way this story is told in the pov of Frank and how he told it. I love the characters and their chemistry in this book. They are strong, creative, sassy and of course I can’t forget the steamy parts! The plot was fun and easy flowing, I read this in one sitting. I highly recommend reading this book!

Brilliant story! I loved that the book was told from Frank’s POV it made it really different to read. There were some great moments in this story and the two main characters Frank and Mikey definitely made it for me. I loved how I was crying with laughter one minute and then crying with emotion the next. The author kept me engaged the whole way through and I never wanted it to end. When I first read the blurb I already had an idea in my mind what Frank would be like but I think because of how the author decided to write this story I really understood him more. I loved the banter between the two of them and there was definitely a lot of sexual chemistry and tension between them! This is the second book that I have read by this author that I have loved and I cannot wait to read more from her again in the future. I highly recommend F*cking Frank – it is a fantastic read with brilliant characters and plenty of laugh out loud moments!

I’m F*cking Frank (yeah there’s an asterisk, worked for that kids book, didn’t it?) and this book is about me and Mikey. You’d probably rather be in Mikey’s head since she’s not as much of an asshole, but unfortunately, the author finds me more interesting.
Mikey and I were literally separated at birth, and when we get back together, it’s pretty great. She could do way better, but who am I to set her standards? I make music, she makes wine. Together we mostly argue and f*ck (jeez, even here an asterisk?), so you know, we’re perfect for each other. At least I think we are, she wants to keep it casual and like a jerk I fell in love.
She and I f*ck a lot, hopefully it’s enough for you pervs. I mean, Myself? I like a good paranormal with maybe two or three powerful demigods or shifters going at it, but you do you. Where was I? Yeah, so buy this book if you like my abs and that vee thing Mikey swoons over. You could get the ebook version or you could buy the paperback and show my abs off like nature intended.
“Hey Carol, what are you reading?” I ask.
“Um, War and Peace,” you say and I know you are lying your face off, Carol. You like romance, own that shit!
So go ahead, buy this book, read it in three hours, and move on to the next one that will be undervalued by snobs with no joy in their life.
Jen Luerssen grew up in New Jersey and then lived for 20 years in the San Francisco Bay area. She has held various jobs in her adult life. Some examples are nanny, waitress, receptionist, dispatcher, caterer, and finally teacher. She spent 10 years teaching 4th and 5th graders, until she finally felt the call to write. It’s been plaguing her thoughts and dreams for years, and those thoughts finally fought their way out.
Jen loves to read, obsessively. She has an unhealthy attachment to her Kindle and is rarely seen without it. She’ll read anything, but especially loves good smut or a post-apocalyptic young adult book.
After “retiring” from teaching, Jen sat down and wrote a book and then another and another and it was the most fun she’s ever had working. She is self-published even though she’s not sure how it works and hopes that people like her funny stories.
Jen is back in her native New Jersey and lives with her husband, daughter, and dog, enjoying suburban life.
