Hacker: The Mercenaries Series Book 2 by Nadine Travers is a romantic suspense story. This tale is intriguing and action-packed, steamy and thrilling. It is a sit on the edge of your seat, roller coaster ride page turner. The characters were complex and well developed and likable. It was an entertaining adventure that you don’t want to miss.

Hacker and his buddies/team have a job to keep Marie and her sister safe and alive and out of the hands of the mafia.

I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

The Tears of Boabdil by Neil MacDonald is a physiological crime story that is as thrilling as it is tantalizing. This story is intriguing and layered and gives us blurred realms of history and myth, past and present. Neil takes us undercover in a deadly world we can only imagine or perhaps we don’t.

Our MC is an undercover police officer and his world is one of lies and secrets to himself and to others. His next assignment is to infiltrate a terrorist group. He is loyal to his country but the line between the undercover operation and his real life soon merge/blur as his love for the enemies’ sister grows.

Guardians of the Garden by Theresa Pocock is a YA fantasy story. It is an interesting and original premise that started out a little slow but soon made up for it. The fast moving plot has multiple layers woven in to it with religious overtones, myth and folklore. Theresa has beautifully written and cleverly crafted a story where the world building and its characters have depth and are complex in their telling.

With magic and guardians, immortality and mystery it has something for everyone to enjoy. You won’t be disappointed and you won’t want to put it down.

Fantasy meets fairy tale as we have a brand new look and feel for the Captain and how he came to be Hook. I loved the original and unique twist Suzanna put on these stories to give us a read that is riveting and enjoyable. Neverland will never look the same again. The ending is not one you expect. I will let you discover the intricacies that Suzanna has seamlessly woven together.

It will have you so twisted around and turned inside out that you won’t know which way is up or down. Such is Meghan’s writing that it becomes all-encompassing and there are a lot of moving parts. Meghan is a master at writing psychological thrillers as evidenced by this series and the sinister plot webs she weaves so intricately and skillfully.

This dark tale sees us taking a look into the darker and deeper side of Petrosky as he once again is on the case of a killer or killers.

She is a spoilt little rich girl and a total biatch. He won’t put up with her bulls*&t and calls her on it. Have they met their match? Turns out there is more going on than meets the eye.

Strings Attached: A Braebeach Rock Romance by Loriana Cappello is a YA contemporary romance story. It is a story of young love and the hurdles that we overcome to make it work. Loriana has given us a story of real people who are real and raw and how all their insecurities and angst when faced with being apart. These young people are just starting out and not in the normal conventional ways. The story was easy to read but flowed a little slowly to me. I nearly gave up but wanted to know how it ended. I enjoyed the story and the characters all bar one who I would shamelessly slap down and then stomp on for good measure.

Ash always had a crush on Calla and now she is back in town he is not going to let her go. But he is about to be a star but is it worth the price and is he willing to pay that price?

Calla’s one chance is standing before her and now her dreams are better than the fantasy. She is about to have her trust tested and will it break her or make her stronger? Not everything you see should be believed.

This dark tale is the start of this Mafioso series that is engrossing and captivating. This compelling read will keep the pages turning and keep you awake because you need to know how it finishes. I found myself invested in the characters and fell in love with them. Sonya and Cam as a writing pair works well.

The colour of her skin doesn’t matter in the court room but her relationship with the son of the mob could see her disbarred. He has seen and done it all but the one thing that could get him disowned is the one thing he loves.

I look forward to the rest of the series.

I Still Hate You by Marie Skye was a quick, engaging read. When I saw Marie Skye had a story, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I could feel the chemistry and the tension is palpable. This steamy tale keeps you interested from start to finish. Marie’s writing is delightful, and you will fall in love with the characters who made me laugh and cry and everything in between as I journeyed along with the them.

Perrie is looking for a roommate, what she never expected was the one who responded to her ad. Will they remain friends or will they become so much more?

The books should be read in order or you are behind the eight ball on the background of the characters and the world around them. C.L.’s word building is spot on when you can vividly imagine the world in which they fight to live. Her writing is enticing and engrossing, and the characters are interesting. The urban fantasy has intrigue and action will keep you engaged throughout and take you on a journey where there are supernatural beings, demons and humans live and fight.

Dahlia Nite is brash and kickarse, loud and sassy. She is also half human half dragon. She fights to protect others. This is a vigilante you want on your side.

I recommend this book and can’t wait to see what happens next.

Vengeance (The Sundown Series Book 5) by Courtney Konstantin is a YA Sci Fi paranormal story. This dystopian post-apocalyptic tale is a dangerous and emotional journey and great addition to this series. I have said it before but I am not a zombie lover, but Courtney has made this story unique and the plot different enough to entertain me. Courtney’s story is an original twist with lots of action and danger, drama and is so very engrossing. Her superb word smithing and vivid writing style, is very descriptive and makes it seem like you have been immersed in the story and fighting to survive. I had to keep turning the pages because I needed to know what was happening next.

Max is our MC and Courtney certainly puts her through the wringer.

If you love a thrilling and intensely gripping, then this is one for you.

Third Time’s a Ghost: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance (Haunted Ever After, #3) by Carrie Pulkinen is a fun paranormal rom com mystery thriller (try saying that drunk). I am in love with this series as it is nonsensical and has just the right amount of sizzle. Carrie knows just how to draw in her audience with her fantastic writing and characters that are well developed, quirky and lovable. It’s easy to get lost in the paranormal world that she creates as she always gives us a little something extra. It is great entertainment.

Trent inherits a house from his surly ungrateful great uncle. After visiting the house he decides that he needs to say goodbye to it ASAP which brings him face to face with the temptress.

Tina agrees to help Trent sell the house but it soon it becomes apparent that the house comes with a little something more.

Unfortunately, this is the last book in this series, but I look forward to the next ghostly feel good tale from Miss Carrie.

There are many differences with the characters from those with little or without much depth, those that are complex and have a much deeper depth to them and those that is twisted beyond the realm of horrors and hell.

The story is well written and keeps you immersed in the story as the characters are transported back through time to 1692 Scotland and meet up with an old foe. It is full of intrigue and danger, magic and spies, drama and suspense and let’s not forget the prophecy. Once again Shannon’s vivid narrative makes it easy to love and easily imagine her characters and the worlds she has created.

I’ve said it before but if you love Outlander, you will love this.

Maddie is an accomplished writer where her narrative is enthralling, engaging and compelling and leave you wanting more. Maddie is a master of weaving intrigue and bringing it all together to bring us something truly masterful. Gunner is full of action and danger, drama and secrets that will have you on the edge of your seat and heart pumping. Her characters make you fall in love with them and make you feel like you are part of their lives and their families.

Gunner needs to make amens for walking away from his brothers in arms, but will they accept him back? Along the way he meets one of his rescues and maybe, just maybe they were meant to be something more for each other and a way to heal from their pasts.

I look forward to reading more of Maddie’s work and what she brings us next.

There is never a dull moment in this fast-moving drama filled with angst and emotionally heartfelt moments.

Three best friends. Two brothers who don’t always see eye to eye but are on their way to fame. One woman who has always been in their lives and loves them both and has to help them all deal with consequences.

I also thought that the story was a little all over the place and disconnected. Then there are the questionable morals and lack of conscience. The story is told in the POV of a young man. My emotions were all over the place with this one and unfortunately it didn’t tick the boxes for me.

Rebecca Remains by Jessica Aiken-Hall is a paranormal crime story. It took me a little bit to get into but once it got going it really took off. Jessica definitely takes us on a journey that is full of mystery and intrigue. It is cleverly woven together with great characters. Murder, mystery and mayhem. Ghosts, lies, and secrets and a couple of twists along the way make for a compelling read.

Everything you thought you knew has just been stomped all over. Embracing one’s self to all you can be is hard when you don’t know if it is a gift or a curse.
