Holiday Hunks-St. Nick's Christmas Wish (Hot Hunks Steamy Romance Collection Book 7)Holiday Hunks-St. Nick’s Christmas Wish by Tamara Ferguson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holiday Hunks-St. Nick’s Christmas Wish (Hot Hunks Steamy Romance Collection Book 7) by Tamara Ferguson is a favourite of mine and I am in love with the wounded warriors and Crystal Rock series. As well as being a sweet romance there is another plot in the background that is mysterious and intriguing. This beautiful Christmas romance is multi layered and the characters are relatable and loveable. One kiss in a holiday destination is all it takes for the heart to want what it wants, and Nick and Emma are drawn to one another and sparks fly but will they see each other again?
I love Tamara’s books because she writes with such heart and I always look forward to more.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Frontman by Lawrence Parlier is a tale of life and death all twisty and behind the scenes of being a rock star. Lawrence has done an excellent job of keeping us on the edge of the seat trying to work out what is going on and did something sinister happen? Lawrence is a new author to me, and I really enjoyed this web of threads that he has put into this mystery suspense thriller. The plot is clever and will keep you guessing and engrossed.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Into the Lion’s Den: (A Christian Cozy Mystery) (Reverend Margot Quade Cozy Mysteries Book 1) by Sarah Biglow is a quick and easy cozy murder mystery read. It is a simple mystery with a good storyline, and enough suspense to keep you interested and will keep you guessing. It is definitely different from the other cozy mysteries, where faith and mystery are blended neatly. The story is very succinct, and Sarah pulls it all together nicely.

A friendly dinner invitation, a snowstorm and a murder see Reverend Margot putting all the pieces together in this “who-done-it” style story.

Brandi did good with this story and her writing style has the ability to transport you right into the story. The plot is gripping, and the characters are deep, complex and relatable. The world she has envisioned is complex and believable and beautifully woven. It has all the ingredients and magic to make for a great read. There is suspense and heartache, fun and humour, action and adventure, second chance and romance. I absolutely loved it. I am now anxiously waiting for the book.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Traveler: Chimera Revolution (The Book of Eleanor 2) by Shannon Nemechek is a time travel fantasy and another great addition in this series. It is fast pace and takes up where the first one left off, so it’s a no brainer that you should read it first. The story is well written and keeps you glued to the pages as you are transported back to 1779 Savannah. It is full of intrigue and danger, magic and time travel, drama and suspense and let’s not forget a prophecy. I was well and truly hooked as I turned page after page and before I knew it, it was over. Shannon’s vivid narrative makes it easy to love and easily imagine her characters and the worlds she has created.

The Widow: A Dark Romantic Fantasy by Naomi Valkryie & Rebecca E. McEwen is a quick read. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Divided Twin (The Divided Series Book 2) by Mary Billiter and Kyle Thomas is a compelling and dark story that may cause triggers as it deals with mental health issues, abuse and suicide. The story has many, many emotions, it is frustrating, heartfelt and heart breaking. I found it hard at times having had a mental health problem myself. Mary gives us realistic look at a mental disorder and an insight into the mind of someone who has schizophrenia and how it affects themselves and those around them. I had trouble settling into the story as the back and forth between characters was a little confusing at times, but this could be because I was a little unsettled reading it. It is a fictional story but written from experience and input from Kyle who has first-hand knowledge.

Virtually Gone (High-Tech Crime Solvers #6)Virtually Gone by Jacquie Biggar
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Virtually Gone: A Mended Souls Novel (High-Tech Crime Solvers Book 6) by Jacquie Biggar is a mystery suspense story. It is a fast paced tale with danger and drama and whilst I enjoyed the story it felt a little lacking in some places. I was a little confused to start with but I was able to settle into the characters better once learning their back stories. This is an interesting story and Jacquie threw a few spanners into the works to keep us guessing.

Julie, a reporter, is like a dog with a bone when she gets going on a story and will not walk away even if it means putting herself in a killer’s line of sight. At times it becomes all too personal.

Detective Matthew Roy and his partner are on the chase to catch a serial rapist and unfortunately the horrific past has risen again to torment him.

Fall (The Ragnarök Prophesies, #2)Fall by A.K. Morgen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fall: The Ragnarök Prophesies: #2 by A.K. Morgen is a paranormal fantasy, coupled with Norse mythology. This book takes off right where the last one, Fade left off and it moves at a much slower pace. It focuses on the mythology more and the thoughts and emotions that the characters are working through, sometimes a little too much. In this story we get more backstory in to Ari and Dace’s past lives and AK gives us some side plots that keep you on your toes.
In true AK fashion she leaves us hanging for the next instalment.

Love Comes in the Mourning by Erin Bevan is an emotional contemporary second chance romance that hits you right in the feels. You will go through the gambit of tears to laughter. The characters are intriguing and well developed and it did take a little bit to settle in with them but once they both took a step back, they felt so much more relatable and quite lovable.

John and Lesley are two of the most unlikely people to fall in love. Him a widow and her a divorcee and from two different worlds. Not only do we have their love story there is another story in the background that shares a sordid and sad tale.

Tompkin’s School: For The Extraordinarily Talented (A Supernatural Academy Trilogy Book 1) by Tabi Slick is a YA paranormal adventure story that is unique, original and interesting. Irresistible Weddings (Irresistible Romance Book 4) Anthology – Review by Jenni Bishop

IRRESISTIBLE WEDDINGS (Irresistible Romance Book 4)IRRESISTIBLE WEDDINGS by Tamara Ferguson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

IRRESISTIBLE WEDDINGS (Irresistible Romance Book 4) Anthology is a collection of romance stories by some of the best authors around. Anthologies are great because you have all the books in a one stop shop and you get to read stories from your favourite authors and find new ones at the same time, nine in all. What could be better? Each story is unique and will leave you believing in love.

TWO HEARTS’ ALLIANCE by Tamara Ferguson –
Tamara is always a favourite and I have yet to read a story I have not fallen in love with and the sexy men and equally strong women. It is another wonderful story in her family of books centred around Wounded Warriors and Crystal Rock, the most magical place when it comes to love and HEA. I can’t say enough about Tamara’s stories to do them justice, so you need to crab your copies and find out for yourself.

ETERNAL by Natalie Ann –
Natalie gives us a sweet story where the characters believe love is not for them and they are ok with their lives. The characters are strong and realistic and may have just found their perfect match. It’s a hard road as we travel along the trail to find love.

WEDDING AT FIREHOUSE RANCH by Suzanne Jenkins –
Even though he was not looking for love a vivacious and shapely woman may just change all that. The problem was she is not considered the norm and they both must overcome the snickers and inconsiderate words. But she is everything he loves in a woman. I love that Suzanne gave us a story where a good-looking man knew what he wanted, and size did not matter.

ALL MY LOVING by Cynthia Cooke –
Naomi is looking to let lose at her best friend’s wedding and let lose she does with an unexpected result. With her walls firmly in place after being hurt she is not sure she can let them down but to get what she wants she needs to let him see her; the no bars hold, her. A great read.

MAKE ME BURN by Alicia Street –
Alicia has given us a brother’s best friend and little sister is off limits story. Not only that but due to lies and deceit he was threatened to stay away. But Jinx knows what she wants, and she is going to find the truth even if it’s not what she wants to hear. This is one of my favourites in this collection.

PLAYING WITH THE BRIDESMAID by Stephanie Queen –
Natalie has found the one man who sets her on fire, but he has been warned off her, but she is not about to let that, and his age stop her from getting what she wants. Stephanie gives us an older quarter back for Boston’s footy team, Max and a sexy red head who turns his head, but he is shy after his divorce and his age, but he is also hiding a secret. The heart wants what the heart wants. This is a fun, hot and sexy read.

BETWEEN BABIES AND GIRLFRIENDS by Mona Risk –
Dr Brian Dutton finds himself raising abandoned twin babies. However, even though girlfriend wants to marry him, she won’t help him with the babies. The Dr is lovable, the girlfriend not so much, I wanted to shake her. What he needs is someone who love him for him and knows what is right for him. I love the hilarious Carla who comes in and takes care of everything. Thank god for HEA’s. This is another favourite of mine in the collection.

THE RIGHT GROOM by Jen Talty –
Jen gives us a fun and sweet second chance story where Spencer and Echo who were supposed to be together forever lose their way away from each other. But fate seems to have other ideas and the sparks fly once again. Could there be too much water under the bridge though?

WEDDING KNOT by Patrice Wilton –
This is a funny romantic story that is full of drama and a beautiful island. When two friends develop feelings for one another what happens to the other person they have decided was the one? Patrice has given us a story that is fun and will have you laughing. It is fast paced and will leave you wanting more. This is a definite favourite.

Martimus (Feisty Lawyers Book 5) by Seelie Kay is my favourite from the series. It is a great story and the plot is good. The characters are strong and out to right wrongs. As always with Seelie’s stories I get lost in the action and thrills and become engrossed in the journey. She has a way of keeping one step ahead, just when you think you know what direction the story is going, you couldn’t be more wrong.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Equalizer: Foxxy’s Tipping Point (Foxxy: The Equalizer Book 1) by Allyson Abbott is a quick and enjoyable read. I had actually read this story before but was remiss in leaving a review. I enjoy all Allyson’s books and this story is well written and the plot flowed smoothly. It is also a very emotive story that gives you as much headache as it does joy. The characters are well developed and I fell in love with their easy banter and their plots for revenge and justice had me laughing. It is a tale of starting over after living a life where there was not an option of getting out, no matter how hard you dream. But when fate steps in all it takes is one look and anything is possible under the right circumstances.

Foxxy is used to her life but her dream is to get out. When a chance encounter changes her life she can hardly believe it but before she goes there is one thing she needs to do. Just how sweet is revenge and justice?

Being Lost (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #1)Being Lost by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Being Lost: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1 by Manda Mellett is another fantastic book in this new spin off series of the Satan’s Devils MC. And like wind therapy this book is great to settle back and get lost in. Manda is my go to girl for MC books and I am always amazed how she keeps track of all the characters and always makes these alpha men swoon worthy. This book, like the others, has hair raising and on the edge of the seat moments but when this band of brothers come together you know you are in safe hands. It was nice to see the characters were a little older than the norm as well.

Lost is the Prez of the club and a great in shape silver fox who still has the moves but he is content with life but still has doubts about his leadership. That is until he sees Patsy, now all he wants is someone to wrap in his arms and share his life with. But in true biker style nothing is ever that easy.

Patsy has unknowingly been singled out and her life in danger, now she must put her trust in the men of the MC to keep her safe.

This is one series that is timeless and could go on forever and if it does I will be right there with them.

Dead Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles #3)Dead Magic by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dead Magic: (The Sanctuary Chronicles #3) by India Kells is a fantastic paranormal romance and great addition to the series. India weaves a magical tale of two wonderful characters and an unlikely pairing finding love through magic and mayhem with many magical beings, Witches, Vampires, Werewolves, Dragons and more. There is a lot going on in the story that kept me engrossed. I got lost in it and couldn’t put it down reading it in one sitting! I suggest reading all the books in order as the characters from the other books are all in it.

Violet is a witch who will do nothing to stop the evil and help those who she loves. She is fiery and finds herself with an attractions that should not be. When her world is turned upside down she loses herself from what she was to what she is becoming. She is terrified and hurt and the one person she should hate is the one person who she needs.

Finn is a very, very old Vampire who has had enough of the life he leads and has decided to disappear. There is one witch who has caught his attention but he knows it can never be, that is until he feels the horror and pain she is in. It is a race against time to find her and help her. Will they both survive?

Book 4 can’t come quick enough.

The Matchmaker and The Marine: A Second Chance Small-Town RomanceThe Matchmaker and The Marine: A Second Chance Small-Town Romance by Lucinda Race
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Matchmaker and The Marine: A Second Chance Small-Town Romance by Lucinda Race is a lovely second chance romance. It is well written and the characters are easy to fall in love with. They are each flawed and scared and both learning to get on with life after heartbreak and tragedy. If only they could set it aside and learn to trust again and take a step back and see what is right in front of their faces. It is a sweet and easy read to get lost in and makes for a nice afternoon reading.

Ashes To Ashes Boxset (books 1-3) by Rowena Holloway – Review by Jenni Bishop

Ashes To Ashes Boxset (books 1-3)Ashes To Ashes Boxset by Rowena Holloway
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ashes to Ashes boxed set is a group of Psychological suspense thrillers that will keep you on the edge of your set and heart pumping. What could be better than having them all there so you don’t have to wait, because you won’t want to.

Bad Things Happen: Gripping Psychological Suspense (Ashes to Ashes Book 1) by Rowena Holloway is full of dark secrets and fraught with danger. This psychological thriller will have you on the edge of your seat while the suspense keeps you on your toes. The story often goes back in time but does so little by little just giving you a hint of a little bit more until the whole truth is revealed and boy does it have some twists. Charlotte Ashe is a weather girl working in London. When a hint of a story is thrown her way, little did she know that it would come with deadly consequences, secrets and lies, painful truths and so many cover ups that she would never be the same. With so many players uncovering the truth from the lies, before it’s too late may just be her undoing.

Less You Know: gripping suspense (Ashes to Ashes Book 2) is the second book in the series and you really need to read Bad Things Happen, the first book in the series as it lays the groundwork for this book. Less You Know is a psychological thriller that is dangerous, full of secrets and suspense and is full of many twists and turns that you don’t know what is going to happen, even when you think you do. Rowena’s skillful writing takes you on a gripping journey where you don’t know who is who and what is what. Charlotte Ashe once again finds herself in the thick of things when her friend is missing. Investigating is in her blood but at what cost. The closer she gets, the more she finds out and the more danger she is in, shows just how much she doesn’t know who her friend is and the many secrets she holds.

From The Ashes (Ashes to Ashes #3) is the third book in the Ashes to Ashes series. I recommend reading the previous books before this one. This story starts off with a bang. It’s intense right from the beginning and you just can’t stop reading. Part of what makes this book so suspenseful is the back and forth of the timeline. It keeps the answers just out of reach and creates the drive to keep focused so you can figure it all out. I won’t get into details, because I don’t want to give away any of the plot turns. Suffice it to say, this book is spectacularly suspenseful, marvelously mysterious, and a dangerously delicious read.

Eagle of the Empire (Relic Hunters) by Martin Ferguson – Review by Jenni Bishop

Eagle of the Empire (Relic Hunters, #1)Eagle of the Empire by Martin Ferguson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Eagle of the Empire (Relic Hunters #1) by Martin Ferguson is a YA adventure story that reminds me of the Librarian movies and tv series and Indiana Jones. I really enjoyed this book as I love the thrills and mystery of history, putting a puzzle together and going to extremes to find what you are after. I enjoyed the characters and felt like I was journeying along with them due to Martins world building. It is fast paced and gets the heart pumping and before I knew it, it was finished, and I didn’t notice because I was so engrossed in it. Even though this is a YA story I am sure that anyone of any age from YA and up will enjoy it.

Adam is thrown into a world he didn’t know existed and wondered how in the world his brother had gotten them into the mess he finds himself in. Unbeknownst to him he has been training for this his whole young life and will stop at nothing to find the treasure that will lead him to his brother.

I look forward to the next book.

Heart of Malice (Alice Worth Book 1) by Lisa Edmonds – Review by Jenni Bishop

Heart of Malice (Alice Worth, #1)Heart of Malice by Lisa Edmonds
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Heart of Malice (Alice Worth #1) by Lisa Edmonds is an Urban Fantasy paranormal story that has it all. Magic, Witches, vampires, werewolves and much more. Lisa’s world building is well done and with so many creatures her imagination could go wild, which I so look forward to. Our feisty heroine is a PI and is well written and she is sassy and strong, clever and a powerful survivor. I absolutely love the ghost witch, Malcolm who has become her new PI partner in crime. The plot is interesting and is fast-paced and brings us a mysterious magical journey.

This is a great start to the series and have great expectations for the next book.

Love Gaia: The Diary Directive by TL Clark – Review by Jenni Bishop

Love Gaia: The Diary DirectiveLove Gaia: The Diary Directive by T.L. Clark
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Love Gaia: The Diary Directive by TL Clark is a unique and original story that could almost be seen as something that could one day happen in our world. This thought provoking dystopian tale is a little eerie and daunting. To read what could be if power got in to the wrong hands or someone gets trigger happy.

The diaries of Dr Rachel were bitter sweet and was so easy to imagine what they were going through, the struggle, the loss, the heartbreak and heartache. But we also see the legacy that Rachel and others left behind and a new world order has come to pass because those before them were thrown into chaos and the unknown.

This is one story that will stay with me for a while.

Boundaries (Scope of Practice Book 1) by Jessica Aiken-Hall – Review by Jenni Bishop

Boundaries (Scope of Practice Book 1)Boundaries by Jessica Aiken-Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Boundaries (Scope of Practice Book 1) by Jessica Aiken-Hall is a heavy read but an intriguing crime read. It touches on hideous crimes that were committed on these characters and what that does to them. It is a very emotive and suspenseful story where events eventuate that you did not see coming. It shows just how far someone is willing to go to right wrongs even they did not see coming. Is revenge as sweet as it sounds?

Overworked and underpaid Valerie is told she is to run a support group that deals with people and trauma. Trauma she can deal with people not so much. Little did she realise but she finds herself becoming more immense in the group and boundaries are thrown out the window.

I have seen a sneak peak of the next book in the series and can’t wait to get my hands on it.
