My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jesse (Glass City Hearts Book 3) by Desiree Lafawn was a fast pace, light hearted, fun, sweet, heart pounding read that had me hooked.

This series has to be my fav of the year. I will say that, unlike the other two before it, this book was fairly shorter. In say that, though this book is a standalone like the others, the timeline is connecting, and there are major spoilers from the other book, that and, this book gives no character background info on some major players. So I suggest you read the other two book before this one.

Because this is a short story I’m not going to get into characters. If you have been following this series, then you will recognize our main male MC, Jess. Who was the bartender that appeared in book one and two, and was Angels “boss” in book one. I’ve like him since book one, and was so happy that he gets his own story. Not only that, this one was a little more special because, unlike the other two books, were the two love interest already knew one another, Harlow and Jess were strangers, that had a fated meeting.

Now as I said this book moves fast, as does the timeline. But because of the smooth writing and excellent timing nothing felt missed. The love wasn’t a inst-love situation, and naturally grew and it was sweet as hell. I will say that this book is tame compared to the other two, with just one smut scene. It was hot, don’t get me wrong, but it was just.. so unlike the other books, that this book felt like more a novella, like a inbetween book rather than part of the main series. Even though there is some key plot points, and a super plot bomb connecting to another key character from the second book, I just felt like, there could have been more. There was lack of build up to the main climax, that as emotional as it was, it felt a little disconnecting.

I just felt like there could have been so much more done with this book, especially around Harlow. She’s a badass mom, who I felt didn’t get her story fully told. Just saying that this book, with the material given, could have been full size, and just as or even more amazing then it is now.

Overall this book was just fantastic, and I really hope there is more to come from this world. I believe there is more story to tell and more adventures to be had. This rang-tag-team could definitely get their own series, apart from this one center around the security firm. Fingers crossed….

What that said I will leave you with my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading
