Murder Most Pemberley (Eliza Darcy Mysteries Book 1)Murder Most Pemberley by Jessica Berg
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a fun book with a mix of the current Darcy clan living at Pemberley and the history of Elizabeth Bennett and her Mr. Darcy! Eliza wants to learn more about her family and why her father left England so she goes to Pemberley for a family reunion. She meets up with her cousin Joy Bingley, Jane’s relative, her goofy Aunt Iris, and a handsome Heath. All is going well until a body is found in the fountains and no one knows who the killer is. Eliza and her clan start snooping and start to find out secrets surrounding the staff, the family, and the house. I loved the characters, the setting at Pemberley, the snippets from Elizabeth’s journal, and the story line which kept me wanting to find out what was going to happen next!

Murder Most Pemberley is the first book in the Eliza Darcy Mysteries series. I always enjoy a new take on Austen’s works, and this was a fun read. This story is set in modern-day times with the ancestors of Darcy and other characters from Pride and Prejudice. Eliza is American and has skipped across the pond to meet her father’s family in England. What starts as curiosity about her family turns into a murder mystery.
I enjoyed the characters and the story. It was a fun, light-hearted read, which leaves me looking forward to the next book in the series. I look forward to reading more from this author and this series soon.

This fun murder mystery really blew me out of the water. I have read a couple of this authors books and personally she is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Every book I have read of hers has been amazing and this one is no different. The characters are well developed, realistic, and bring the story together as a whole. The mystery was just enough to keep you on the edge of your seat while reading this incredible mystery. However not only did the murder mystery help bring this book alive but its also full of nutty relatives, romance, and of course plenty of tea, this book really had it all.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this romantic cozy mystery with a Jane Austen/Pride and Prejudice twist. American Eliza Darcy travels to “Merry Old England” to attend a Darcy/Bennet family reunion. However, Eliza has an ulterior motive for going, and that is to resolve the estrangement between her father and uncle. Having arrived in England and explored the vast Pemberley estate of her ancestors, Eliza has to, “channel her inner Agatha Christie” when a dead body surfaces. Suddenly afternoon tea is replaced by murder and mayhem, especially as the body count starts rising. When clues to the murder begin to merge with her investigation into her family’s rift, she decides to let loose her “inner wannabe sleuth”, even though she promised to keep out of the official Scotland Yard investigation.
With the help from the handsome Heath Tilney, and her batty great-aunt, Eliza rushes to untangle the web of lives and secrets, and still finds time to flirt with her British heartthrob. Three murders later and the clues are running out as Eliza keeps investigating and realises that her own life is in danger. This was a great read, I loved the fact that all the characters were descendants of Elizabeth and Mr Darcy, and I loved all the Austen references dotted through the book. Eliza is a wonderful heroine and could just as easily have been in a Jane Austen novel herself. I felt immersed in the story and engaged with the characters. The storyline had me hooked and the plot twists kept me guessing, making it very hard to put this book down! I look forward to the next book in the series.

What a clever murder mystery! Eliza is heading to a family reunion in jolly ole- England, a Darcy/Bennet one. She meets Heath at the airport. Could it be fate that brought them together? I loved watching the chemistry with these two. What an entertaining tale told with a taste of snippets of Jane Austen at the beginning of each chapter. A tale of murder and romance. Eliza can’t resist helping Scotland Yard when drama happens at the reunion. I can’t blame her. Wouldn’t you like to make sure it isn’t you next? Humor, mystery, characters that will entertain you as you try to figure out who did it (No, I own’t tell you who, tsk!) The plot is smooth, twits abound, with characters galore. The older characters will have you laughing out loud as you read. This is a wonderful book. I look forward to more from this author. What a delight to read with your tea and crumpets.

Murder Most Pemberley is an interesting story. It is the first book in the series and held a lot of promise. Unfortunately some of the characters frustrated me making it difficult to connect with them which in turn, made it hard to connect with the storyline. The premise is predictable but it did have some fun qualities. For me the story didn’t flow easily it felt a little stilted at times. Sometimes less is more as there are a lot of English colloquialisms/slang/ phrases and it felt like too much. This story reads as though aimed at a younger reader as in it is a YA cozy mystery than for an older audience.

Eliza Darcy is visiting England and her relatives. She and her friends and crazy Great Aunt decide to do some super sleuthing. Whilst there they soon find themselves embroiled in murder and mayhem.

If you love Jane Austen and/or Agatha Christie then this maybe right up your alley.

I loved reading this book. It was a perfect blend of romance an mystery. I loved the Austen play on the story as well with a good mystery that was afoot. It a pleasurable read that really gave a lot, kept you intrigued, and kept you wanting to go with the characters to learn who the real culprit was!

Eliza was great all around! Loved her wit and her sense of humor that went along with the mystery that was needing to be solved. Things were very well written, visually and the story developed at a very well done pace. I was very intrigued and laughing as I read! The secrets that surfaced and as the questions were raised, I was rooting for Eliza and her potentially perfect match. The writing was perfect. Well done with its own realism. I really had fun with this book. I fell in love with this book so easily! Loved it! I loved how the author crated a true mystery, and felt we were in the times of Austen and the adventures she had written. Eliza was a commendable character. I enjoyed the character development as well!

Wonderful! It was perfect in every which way The story was very bewitching with its own spell as well. I loved it so! I highly recommend this book and author. Must read on both ends for sure! A brilliant read!

I really enjoyed this cosy romance. I loved the reference to Jane Austin and the connection the author makes. I really loved Eliza’s character. She is a determined lady and when she wants to solve something you can be sure she will solve it.
Our story is based in the English countryside while men are gentlemen and ladies are supposed to act like ladies. Eliza travels there to visit her family and to find out just what happened between them and her father. However like most families there are the nice people and also the not so nice people and some are just plain crazy.
When murders start to happen Eliza realises she needs to solve more than just the family history.
This book is a fun Cozy Mystery which will have you laughing with a sprinkle of romance and a touch of danger this book is a captivating read.

I love me a good, for lack of a better word, “smut” book. This was quite the opposite which I found rather refreshing. I’ve read some religious romance books before and they’re usually quite sweet but really dry in the romance department. Which isn’t a bad thing just not usually my thing but I like to give all books equal opportunity before I judge them. Boy am I glad I did.
Amber Waves of Grace was very sweet but not too sweet. I like that there was several “Love stories” going on in the story. My favorite was between main characters Aaron & Corrie. I loved being able to see how they would get passed the past and the age difference. I loved the growth and healing that happened between the characters. There was some suspense and mystery that made the story more interesting. All in all a great story. I absolutely loved it!

This really was a beautifully written heart-warming story and one that I thoroughly enjoyed. From the beginning to the end I felt like I was right there with the wonderful characters in this story, especially Corrie, she was just an amazing person. The author took me on an emotional roller-coaster with Corrie’s story, there were certainly some ups and downs and definitely some very emotional moments. It truly was a lovely story to read and one that I would highly recommend. This was also my first time reading a book by this author and will absolutely not be the last!

Follow Corrie as she builds a new path for herself in a changed world. Coming back home from the city and her full time job to run her family farm was the least she expected. Especially when a tragic accident occurs, changing her whole world. In Corrie’s life one accident happens after another, but does she keep the faith or collapse under pressure, like her whole world seems to do? Read and find out!

For the first fifty percent of the book, the romance made me want to throw my book across the room, but in a good frustrating way. The slow romance, Corrie’s thought process and stubborn ways made me want to jump in and start shaking her. But in the end, there is a happily ever after that brings tears to your eyes, and is well deserved for the beloved character, Corrie.

This book drove me wild, but I loved every minute of it. Fairly easy read, and being a farmer myself, I loved every intricate (AND ACCURATE) farming detail. When Corrie had to “put down” her truck and combine my heart wept for her, knowing exactly what that’s like. The storyline was amazing, between the hardships, overcoming her past, finding new love, and introducing new characters. So many funny and witty comments, and lovable characters ***cough cough*** Aaron.

I would love to see another book written about Luke and Violet, and also showing Aaron and Corrie starting their new lives.

Great book and would definitely read again… and again!

This is one of those reads that just hit home and I’m not sure how to put words to what’s going on inside of me …..

First off I just love the cover and think it’ll make a beautiful puzzle to build , frame and mount on the wall and after reading what’s between the pages it will take on a whole new meaning ….

Being a farmer myself and it being harvest season and having labour issues this read was close to home and I identified on so many levels with what was happening ….

My heart just broke for their father and the loss he experiences as a farmer and a man and all I wanted to do was climb into this book and love on theses people

There was so much to this read , it was raw , it was real , it was human ❤️

There was suspense, mystery , romance , forgiveness , grace , tragedy, resilience …. I cried hard , I laughed hard and I worked hard

These are people I want to keep to myself but at the same time I want to share their trial and tribulations ❣️📕

This book really had the heart-warming aurora going on. And that small town feel. I loved the characters and their development they had as I read through! I was swept away, and felt I was transported to the beautiful farm. The book had a lot of heart and was a wonderful sweet read all the way through!

Corrie was a wonderful character; she was strong and did what she must to make it in this thing we call life. She thought she had everything she needed. But perhaps life had other plans. Meeting someone out of the blue, a person she helped in a time of need. The chemistry between them was undeniable but soft and sweet and the same time. Aaron was a sweetie as well, and you could care he generally cared. The book was not easy flow like using a plow all the way through, there were bumps, and I mean some bumps were the type to make you question everything and knock you down. Sometimes faith and a helping hand can make you see and feel otherwise. I loved the power of the heart that was shown in this book, as well as love and trust. All goes hand in hand! And the power of family! Loved it!

Such good read, it was a quick read for me as well. I was very much in touch with the story and the characters as I read. For sure, a high recommendation from myself, and this book is for sure a must read!

This novel is so well written and relatable! We can all think of a time where our faith and futures were tested by rocky paths and murky pasts. I enjoyed the air of mystery and suspense in this book just as much as the romance and drama. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book but I wasn’t disappointed. This isn’t just a romance, while that was a large part, there was also some mystery and suspense tied in that really kept your attention while reading.

Corrie came home to take care of the farm since her father is unable to. She doesn’t expect that her farm hand to leave unexpectedly and to find herself in need of help. The last person she expects is Aaron. Corrie has so much on her plate between the farm, her siblings and her parents that she leans on Aaron for support. Just as everything seems to be going the way it should, uncertainty shows up in the form of a stranger needing shelter. What lays ahead for these characters?

I really enjoyed this book! Corrie’s character shows what you do for your family in hard times. I was on the edge of my seat and couldn’t wait to see what would happen next.

Amber Waves of Grace is a heart-warming and emotional quick read. It is a story with challenging times and lurking troubles. It is a second chance romance that will bring out all the feels. Jessica’s story telling is simplistic in its narrative and it is easy to like the characters. It is a clean romance with religious overtones and messages within.

Corrie finds she may have bit off more than she can chew but along with all the unrest, challenges, danger, just to name a few, she really starts to find herself and realise she is stronger than she thought along the way.

If you love clean romance stories you will like this book.

Set in 15th century England Love in the Roses is an engaging and intriguing tale. This book is a stand-alone historical medieval romance story. I found myself drawn in to this world and the main character and her life.

As readers we get a real feel of what life could have been like through TL’s portrayal with vivid details and her passion. The world building and the characters are well written, complex and compelling.

We take a journey back in time with knights and swords, feasts and horses. I enjoyed the banter throughout the story which gave it a more realistic feel.

Isabel’s finds she is to enter into a union with Sir William, the enemy. But not everything is as she thinks. She soon finds out there is much more to a marriage than she thought she would get.

Not my kind of book but I’ll still give it 3 stars because it’s NOT terrible. Quick and fast read for me. Has great potential and there’s a book out there for everyone. So still give it a shot and don’t judge the book based from my words. Could use more details regarding the story or even the characters. Reading about corries dad, makes me extremely sad though. Being injured after a accident and not being to do what he used too? It’s not fair and breaks my heart. But In no way am I bashing the author or even this book…but definitely different than what I’m used to reading. Im not a religious person so this is first book I’ve read that, that’s got that in it. Im not sure if the author has other books but I’ll still read them if so 🙂
