I loved this book from the first word to the last. I felt like I was right there with Eliza, Heath, and Joy – tackling a mystery. A hilarious book with twists and turns and romance. What’s not to love??

I could not put the book down, hence I declare it delicious. Perfect for a day out in the sun. The author impeccably blends proper English with British colloquialisms. Spun in perfect measure with whispers of scenery and life from days of yore. Such a delightful book. My only complaint is that it had to end. I am thrilled to know this is going to be a series. Until the next book!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m a sucker for anything closely related to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, I will always read it!
Murder Most Pemberley was intriguing and I loved it! Centuries and generations later is where this story takes place. Descendents of the Darcy, Bingley and even Wickham line throughout. The author weaved a wonderful murder mystery, with a tad bit of romance.
Eliza Darcy has been invited to Pemberley, for a family reunion of sorts. Little does she know it’s going to turn into an adventure of her lifetime. She will also meet a new beau named Heath. He’s handsome, charming, and oh so delectable, but does she have time? Or is it just fun on vacation? When tragedy strikes, Eliza is determined to get to the bottom of it. Murder, disappearances, embezzlement, and oh yeah an Aunt who can’t stand her, make Eliza’s task all the more difficult.
This book is a wonderful story but always having your family’s back. Wanting to do everything in your power to protect them, even when it’s not your job.
If you’re like me and enjoy everything “Pride and Prejudice” you really need to jump into this book now. This was one of better books I’ve read playing off Jane Austen’s original novel!

Murder Most Pemberley (Eliza Darcy Mysteries Book 1)Murder Most Pemberley by Jessica Berg
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Eliza is an American headed to the UK for a family reunion of the Jane Austen variety. She has a whole list of things she would like to knock off her bucket list while there, but she is really there to fix a family issue between her father and uncle. What starts as just a mission to find out why her father was estranged from her family turns into a real whodunit when bodies start piling up.

I caught a few references to the Austen line of books with the Darcy’s and the Bennett’s but I’m not an Austen reader. That being said, this was still a really great, fun, well written book and I loved every word! Eliza is a wonderful character full of personality and drive and smarts. Heath is a perfect play against her. The wacky aunt makes every appearance enjoyable. Just…read this book. I can’t wait for the next installment!

I thoroughly enjoyed this modern tame if Pride and Prejudice. It felt like the classic book and yet at the same time felt fresh and new. The characters were a great part of this story, drawing you as the reader in. They matched perfectly with the story and made it much more interesting.
I enjoyed the mix of British and American. It was entertaining to read and kept the book feeling revived. I thought this was a great re-imagining by the the author and I am looking forward to the next book.

I absoluetly loved this book! I could not get enough and enjoyed flipping every page until it was done! It was an easy read with great characters who had nice development throughout the entire store and even though it was set in a different time there wasn’t many if any period discrepancies that took away from the focus of the book! I loved how descriptive the author was and how well readers were truly brought into the story! I look forward to reading more by this author!

Amber Waves of Grace is a story about a girl who moves back home after her fathers accident, to help with the family farm. When she moves home, she has more obstacles than keeping the farm going. Her old love that did not end well, is now the pastor of her church. While old emotions and memories are coming to the surface, she is also starting to have new feelings for her ex’s older brother.
I can’t say enough good things about this book. I really enjoyed it right from the beginning. The characters are very well developed and there is a lot more to the story than a simple love triangle. There is mystery and sabotage. Laughter and tears. I highly recommend this book and I can not wait to read more from this very talented author.

I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of this book & how much I enjoyed it. I wasn’t sure how well I would be able to relate to the farm life, however the emphasis on family loyalty, struck a chord with me and I was instantly hooked. This book had it all—sweet romance, compelling mystery, & insight to the hard choices we make when family is involved! Great read! Highly recommend. 5 stars!

Corrie Lancaster leaves the life she had built for herself and returns to the family farm after a tragic accident leaves her dad with a brain injury and unable to man the farm. It’s harvest time when Corrie returns, however she is short staffed—that is until the Tuttle brothers step up & offer to help run the farm. Luke Tuttle, was “the one” in Corrie’s mind, until he left her broken-hearted. Corrie is still angry & hurt and the way Luke ended the relationship and is having a hard time putting the past behind her. Luke’s older brother Aaron, is a rock and seems to be there every step of the way for Corrie, regardless of the circumstances. While there is no denying the attraction between the two, Corrie isn’t sure if she can put her heart in the hands of another Tuttle and trust that she won’t end up devastated once again. Excellent read! Highly recommend.

This book was great well written and full of great characters, very descriptive and overall wonderful. It’s hard being a farmer physically mentally and emotionally and this book really just gives you a great description on how farming can either come together or it can come apart. The author a does a good job and letting you know the ends and outs of farming and all that it entails. This book is full of redemption, struggle, and family drama but it all comes together and works out well. I would recommend this book to someone who enjoys romantic moments, and real-life struggles. Looking forward to reading more by this author.

As always when starting a new book, you never truly know what to expect. As with this read I wasn’t sure myself but I was not disappointed to say the least. When family falls on hard times, family helps family no matter what. Exactly what Corrie the main character does. This book was such a great read, ALL the characters were nothing short of amazing. The author gives a very detailed description of what it truly takes to own, live on and make a farm life work. Oh there’s a heartfelt romance that brews too 😉 This book, brought out all the feels for sure! Really glad I gave it a read.

Amber Waves of Grace

I almost didn’t read this book, but changed my mind for some reason.  I’m so glad I did because I really enjoyed this book.  I think the main takeaway for me from this book is how valuable family is, no matter how they come to be family.

This book had a lot happen in what seemed to be a pretty short period of time.  Injuries, conflict, suspense and love are just a few of the things that happen.

Corrie is definitely the oldest sibling of the three and it’s obvious from the beginning.   Those of us that are the oldest can spot our own.  She takes over the farm when her family needs her even though she had to leave the life she made to do it.  It may have been the best decision should could have made for herself,  not to mention her family.

If you’re looking for a sweet love story and about family and their importance in your life I would recommend you give this one a try.

So so delightful! The story and the characters are full of love, tears and just moving forward in life. The main storyline does have a few harder issues but it blends in perfectly with the story and doesn’t overshadow the true reason. I admire the strength of Corrie! She impressed the heck out of me! She is a “just do it” woman. Going back to the farm was fun for me as well. Its a reminder of all the things that can go wrong but don’t let it overshadow the good too. When she is eating that tomato from the gardern—I could taste the freshness and its a reminder of why farmers farm.

Overall this was a quick read as I struggled to put it down. All the characters from the main ones to the secondary were perfect and memorable. This is a wonderful story

I enjoyed this romance story. This is my first book by this author which I look forward to seeing what is next for them. I enjoyed how I was pulled into the story from the start by the characters. They are strong, supportive and relatable which just added to the story. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout. This is a fast paced story that was written with a lot of heart and it shines through with the characters. This is a well written story that has great chemistry and emotional parts. A story where romance could be a second chance but also forgiveness for betrayal. A story that is easy, entertaining to read and just hard to put down. The growth of the plot added to the story which had me coming back for more. I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.

This is a really heartwarming and beautifully written romance. I loved the authors writing style and the characters. Corrie is such a strong and determined character who’s love for her family and her faith in things being the way the should be keeps her moving forwards no matter the odds against her.

When she returns back to the family farm to help after her father’s accident it’s not somewhere Corrie saw herself returning too. But farming runs in her blood and even though she is overwhelmed she fits back into farm life as if she never left.
When she is left needed help the brother of her ex flame offers her help. This bring her old flame Luke back into her life, wanting to rekindle things, however with his past betrayals this isn’t possible for Corrie.

When things start to get worse with her parents marriage, the stress of the farm and the younger siblings and someone from their past out for revenge she turns to Lukes brother Aaron. But when feelings of friendship turns into attraction it just adds another complicated situation to an already complicated life.

You will fall in love with this story and characters and you will be inspired by Corrie’s determined nature to make sure she does what is right by everyone she cares for, even when things are against her.

A heartwarming contemporary romance which had me hooked from start to finish. Corrie Lancaster moves back to the family farm following her father’s accident, just in time to help with the harvest. When the farm’s hired hand quits, and with a bumper wheat crop needing harvesting, Corrie has to accept the help of Aaron Tuttle, her ex boyfriend’s older brother. Corrie soon starts to lean on Aaron for emotional support, as she’s busy with the farm and harvesting, but also looking after her younger siblings and having to watch her parents marriage crumble. Unfortunately, Corrie learns that her ex boyfriend, Luke isn’t over her, and when he apologises for the past and attempts to rekindle their romance, she must decide between the two brothers.
When everything is finally under control, a stranger arrives at the farm asking for shelter, and an old nemesis returns looking for revenge. Corrie must decide which man she loves and who’s love will restore her faith. Corrie is a likeable and relatable heroine of this novel, who brings the story together. I love the connection between her and Aaron and enjoyed seeing how their relationship developed throughout the story, especially with the complication of Luke reappearing. The storyline had me gripped and I found this book hard to put down down. It took me on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading it, and I felt immersed in farm life, as the setting was brought to life by the descriptive narrative. A real page turner, which I definitely recommend reading.

Amber Waves of Grace is a Contemporary Romance/ Inspirational story about finding your true purpose and unexpected love. There’s plenty of drama along the way to keep you glued to the pages. What a heart-warming yet heart breaking story that will have your emotions all over the place. This author is a fairly new author to me and I’m hooked and will definitely be checking out what other books she has written. Her wonderfully written story along with great characters makes it hard not to love. Corrie has returned home to help out her family out. Her father was injured in a accident and its harvest time. Corrie needs to hire some help and with not many choices she takes on her ex-boyfriend’s older brother Aaron. What will happen when certain obstacles occur and old feelings get involved? I don’t really know where the title came from, but I’m glad I read Amber Waves of Grace. It was a really good book with amazing characters. I know so much more about farming now, haha. But for real, it is a wholesome clean story. The characters all go through some pretty heavy stuff, but it is real life problems. The story was realistic and not just a fairy tale love story. I love how close the families are, and the characters all have good chemistry. I enjoyed reading the afterward acknowledgements, learning where the character inspiration came from. I’ll start off by saying that the amount of faith, despite all the things that Corrie, Aaron, Luke, Violet, and all the other amazing folks in this novel go through, is really incredible. I have never been one to really look to the higher ups, whomever they may be, to get me through the tough times, but after reading this, I can certainly see the mentality behind doing so. Truly, the writing in this novel was very well done, had a great touch of mystery, romance, and family.

I really enjoyed the character building, and found it fairly easy to relate to Corrie and her need to keep the farm afloat, as well as the struggles she went through in the past. The only thing I found difficulties with, is that the past seemed to stick right where it was, and decisions were being made based on such over and over again, which seemed a bit overdone. That being said, everything else was phenomenal, and it just proves that if you have the right people by your side, you can get through anything! I do recommend giving this a read, it will give you the tingles and make you feel as though you can overcome anything!

This was such a sweet read with great characters. Corrie has just moved home to her family farm after a tragic accident has left her dad unable to maintain the farm. To top it all off her only farmhand just quit. Corrie is beginning to somewhat resent returning home and taking over the farm. It will take a miracle for the family farm to stay afloat. She is too stubborn to admit she needs help.
Sometimes help comes in ways other than you asking for it. It starts with her former boyfriend the pastor in town, Luke, who she has a very rocky past with. It is followed by his brother Aaron who wants to help as well. Corrie reluctantly accepts their help and Aaron is quickly becoming a very key piece to the farm as well as maybe more to Corrie. Corrie is truly beginning to fall for Aaron and it seems that the feeling is reciprocated. However, would Aaron still like her if she knew about her past?
Meanwhile, a stranger from out of town comes crashing into Corries life. This pregnant woman becomes a large piece of her life. Violet is definitely becoming a part of the Lancaster (Corrie’s) family. As violet becomes more important to the family, there are mysterious fires being set to the farm. Is it somehow related to Violet? Or is it the work of a disgruntled farmhand who doesn’t want to see Corrie succeed?
I have to be completely honest, I loved this book. I was hesitant upon beginning to read this due to the fact that I am not generally a big fan of brothers who are vying for the same girl. However, the way that the author handles this is amazing. I truly developed feelings for the characters and found myself crying at multiple points as I was reading. This was such a heart warming book and I loved that there were many happily ever afters in it as well.

Fantastic book!!! I am so glad I picked up this book to read and I was hooked from page 1. This contemporary romance had such a great story and message, clean, enjoyable and I can totally relate to the characters, especially Corrie.

Corrie is hard working daughter on the Lancaster Family farm. Sun up to sun down, harvesting what she can to help save her family farm. She has past hurts…a broken heart from long ago that she is trying to forget and the heart break it ensued. When one of her farming hands quits, she is desperate to find some help. The help offered is none other than Aaron, Tuttle, who happens to the other brother of a boy Corrie dated long ago, Luke Tuttle. Sparks fly between Aaron and Corrie but with caution. While Corrie is trying to keep her family together, help out someone in need who also need and someone from the past also revenge. Will Corrie be able to manage everything on her plate and also choose between Luke, her past love or Aaron, who is there when she needs him the most?

This story is all about past hurts, new love, and forgiveness….and flowed so easily. I couldn’t put the book down. What a great read!!

As a huge fan of all things Pride and Prejudice, the moment I stumbled across this book I knew that I needed to read it! It didn’t take me very long to fall in love with Eliza, who the author did a fantastic job of turning into a modern-day mix of Agatha Christie and the lovable Elizabeth ‘Lizzy’ Bennet Darcy of the original book. I loved that the author put time and effort into the other characters, making it obvious to readers of the Pride and Prejudice book which descendants there at the reunion resemble the main characters of the original book. Due to the name of the book, I knew it would be a mystery novel, and the author blew me away with how she was able to develop the mystery while also throwing a bit of romance into the novel. Can’t wait to read the next in the series!

Amber Waves of Grace definitely caught me off guard. It starts in the middle of Corrie harvesting wheat when her hired man, George, starts causing a ruckus and quits. She ends up receiving some help from Luke and Aaron Tuttle, her neighbors who are also brothers. Corrie has a complicated and painful past with Luke and becomes attracted to Aaron even though she thinks he won’t even cast a passing glance her way.
Even though I believe EVERYONE will find this story relatable, I felt a kinship with Corrie as I am both a country girl and as stubborn as the day is long. She still has a soft spot in her heart for friends and family. There is nothing Corrie wouldn’t do to keep them safe and as a woman who tries to do it all herself, she finds that is a much bigger task than she anticipated especially upon bringing in a stranger into her home and under her wing.
I laughed, yelled, and cried reading this book and fell in love with all the characters. It hits on so many different levels of emotion that feel so raw and real. There is a good amount of drama and mystery in this book without feeling like the author is relying on it to carry the story and make it interesting. It may start out a tiny bit slower than some books, but it picks up fast and tells a beautiful story!

Corrie has her work cut out for her. After an accident leaves her father unable to carry on the daily duties of caring for and running a farm, Corrie leaves her reporter job and comes back home. She’s out on the combine daily bringing in the harvest and when it’s planting season, she’s back planting in the fields. Tragedy seems to come naturally to Corrie though, not that she’s asking for it! Whether it’s firing her farmhand, running into an old love, the drama that comes with running a business, Corrie has her fair share of excitement, and it’s not all good. However, there are several facets of this story that do bring about good. Tragedy brings good to those who look for it!! Corrie has a beautiful heart and the love she has for people is the kind of love this world needs more of!!

I LOVED this book!!!! It is definitely in my top three reads so far this year and I’m pretty sure it’s number one! What Northern raised farm girl wouldn’t love a book about a girl running a huge farm!?!?! This book was so refreshing and different from the romances I’ve been reading lately. There are so many elements of this book….love, grace, peace, forgiveness along with tragedy, shame, and pain. This book seemed so real to me and the author weaves this story so beautifully. There are “christian” elements in this book but it’s not the sole focus of the story. I will be looking for more books by this author as I really enjoyed her storytelling and the style in which she writes!
