The Crown of Stones: Magic-Price by C. L. Schneider – Review by Jessica Phillips
Magic-Price by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I really enjoyed reading this one. Between the characters, the use of magic and the world in which it transported me to… I can’t decide what I enjoyed more.
But I am leaning more toward the amazing world building of this story… it felt real.
Ian Troy, a Shinree, addicted to his magic he is born to fight in a longstanding war, and goes against orders and uses the Crown of Stone to end the war. It comes with a huge price tag and destroyed lives.
He casts himself into exile for 10 years and even though he refrains from using magic, he turns to wine to help with that addiction.
I enjoyed his character and his development over the course of the book. Excided to get book 2 to continue with this tale.
