I absolutely love Valkyrie’s writing style and she doesn’t disappoint with Unexpected Heroes. This is a MM, small-town romance filled with suspense. Valkyrie packs romance, suspense, angst, and spice into Jude and Elijah’s story and does it really well. I really like how she developed these characters, individually and together, as well as the plot line. This spice level in this is just right and you will not regret picking this story up.

I absolutely devoured this book! I love Katie and Drew’s story and it is so relatable on so many levels…the insecurities (on both sides), the wondering if your feelings are too soon, the apprehension and fear in a new relationship…just all of it! This book has everything you are looking for: romance, spicy time, laugh-out-loud moments, pain, regret, redemption (in a mascot suit no less) and so much more! Brady did a fantastic job writing characters so believable. This is one of the best hockey romances I’ve read in awhile…and there isn’t much hockey in it 😉

Another cute installation in the Dinapotamus series. I love the illustrations and how they look like children drew them. As always, I love how Wickstrom is able to weave science, learning, and life-lessons together so seamlessly. Pick this one up now to add to your collection! Reviewed by @meggs1717

This is the 3rd book in the Shattered Embrace series. This is another romance with a BDSM element as our main characters are part of that lifestyle. What I love about these books is that there is also danger and excitement as well as steamy chemistry. I do recommend reading these books in order as they do follow on from each other . This is Derek’s story. Derek is another DOM and Zach’s brother. He has never been one to settle down but he will protect anyone he cares for. When Justine comes into his life she makes him feel things he has never felt before. And when Justine gets injured it puts things into perspective for Derek. Could she be the girl he’s been waiting for? And in the fight against the threat to Derek’s brother will Justine have just the solution needed to protect everyone? Added into this mix as well is Jordan. Jordan and Derek have history and as much as she enjoyed being his Sub she is starting to feel like she needs something more. Will that be with Derek or will she be moving on to something new? This story is told from the point of view of all 3 characters which I love as I feel you get the complete story and understand everyone’s thoughts and feelings. I also like how the author takes the reader into the world of Dom/submissive relationships and opens the readers eyes to what it actually looks like. I have found out there is another book to read called Whispers in Wonderland which will give me a better insight into Derek’s past so while I will be going back to read that, the fact I haven’t read it doesn’t change my enjoyment of the book.
This is the last book in the series. It is a good standalone book as well. The book is about second chances. It is well written and keeps your interest throughout the book. Very good read!

This book took me by my heart and kept pulling at it from start to finish. Brooke May has grabbed my attention with Chamberlain “Predator” Lawrence (who is determined to make it as a fighter) and Katherine Carrie “K.C.” who is wanting to become a teacher. She meets Chamberlain in a local rec center where she taught little girls how to dance. They fell for each other but they live different lives. K.C. is the daughter of a Senator. Where as Chamberlain grew up without his parents and is raised by a friend’s parents. Can they make it work or does something or someone stop them? This is a big question and I hope that when you read it you will find the answer. I know that I couldn’t put this book down and I am now reading book 2 of this series. I am just as hooked to find out what happens between K.C. and Chamberlain.

Puzzleman by Christopher Alan Broadstone is an absolutely exceptional horror/thriller read. This book is dark, twisted, and at times uncomfortable, in the best was possible. This book is vivid and unique, and impossible to put down. The cover is creepy, and really sets the tone for the book. This is the first book I’ve read from this author, and I absolutely loved it, definitely recommend it!

When you pick up an Ariella Talix Historical Romance you can expect drama, trauma, intrigue, angst, strong main characters, action, suspense, love, and steam. The only thing that differs in her novels from your average romance is they usually involve three main characters, in this book it was two MMC and one FMC, Nico, Eden, and Matty. Casting Vows was no different. This is book 3 in a series, I did read book 2, but have not had a chance to read book one. The way the characters struggle with their own experiences, emotions, and traumas I love to watch them progress and grow throughout the books. I enjoy how the characters in each book stay throughout the series to come back around and support the new characters throughout their experiences, it’s not so much that you have to read them in any particular order just an added bonus if you have read previous books.
We enter back into the world of Club Shattered Embrace and oh my what a steamy world we get to see.
Derek is coming to terms with life outside of the military and has decided to delve into the Club world but when he sees Justine he has this unbelievable urge to protect her for some reason, so when she gets in the crosshairs and gets shot he decides to take her to safety in the woods where they discover the best of each other, but he also has to make the decision if he wants to take over the family business but he needs to get rid of Lucian once and for all.
Jordan is Derek’s play partner and while they are in Sub training she sees the attraction and connection between Derek and Justine but where does Jordan stand in all of this, so she has to understand what she actually wants out of the experiences.
Justine is a grad student writing her dissertation on human nature and what better way to observe is in Club Shattered Embrace but as she goes through the classes she awakens something inside of her that she was unaware of but when she is shot and is whisked away with Derek, can she keep her feelings for him hidden while she is helping him or will the Alpha in him call to her Sub.
This is the third book in the series and although the story flows well as a stand alone it is probably better for you to get the back stories about the other characters to understand some of the interaction but it is not necessary.
The chemistry from all the characters jumps off the page and have you totally engaged into the story where the sexually component and the twists and turns mould brilliantly together to give you a gripping story and well developed characters.
I love the Alpha dominance of Derek but there is also a softer side to him which melts when he is in protector mode which is just brilliant to read. Justine’s character is full of sass and determination in the end to get what she wanted which is a brilliant progression through the story.
I can’t wait to read the next instalment and other series by this wonderful author.

Casting Vows is the third book in the Hearts of Gold Series by Ariella Talix. This is another steamy historical romance, with a menage/why choose (MMF/MFM) story, set in the 1880’s Los Angeles. We are pulled into a tale of passion, angst, drama, emotion, challenges, faith, family responsibilities and obligations vs passion and love, misunderstanding, and hope. We follow Eden Godwin, Nicolo Stark-James (Nico), and Matty Remington as they face challenges, endure, tug on our heartstrings, and heat up the pages. And while the story is my favourite of the series, so far, and had all the ingredients that I normally love to find in a story- I still failed to fully connect with the characters and their story completely. And I’m still not sure why- it must be a ‘me’ thing. But if you love historical details and settings, menage/why choose, emotion, angst, and steam- then you will probably want to get your hands on a copy of this book to explore. Happy Reading…

Book 3 in the Hearts of Gold series, Casting Vows is a fantastic story. I have not read the first 2 books and honestly have no clue who is in them or what they are about but this story is wonderful. Nico, Eden and Matty are amazing together and I was rooting for Matty and Nico from the beginning. But add Eden into the mix and WOW. I read this book in one day, it was so hard to put it down for work.

Callum feels like he is the only one that cares and he is tired. The touring is getting to him as well so he turns to drugs for an escape. I accidentally started with this book, book 3, but you know what? I don’t regret it. Will I run and grab the first two?? Absolutely!! But not regrets! I loved this book. I defiantly wasn’t ready for it, but man by the time you get through chapter two or three you will be hooked! You meet Derek who is in a tug-a-war with a half-brother mob boss. He will do anything to keep what’s his safe. Weather they like it or not. And most of them don’t like it!! Then you shift and meet Justine, who is a college student working on a doctoral about Club Shattered Embrace and more so research into submission. Walking around a BDSM club for years doesn’t prepare her for this life style. Watching form the sidelines just won’t cut it. She never imagined where she’d be pushed and by whom that’s for sure!! Jordan is a long time switch with Derek, but has been finding that she wants more. Not necessarily more from Derek (although that could be great!), but definitely something more. When Derek’s half brother makes a poor attempt at taking a life he’s jumps into action. Calling in everyone, putting everyone on alert, and putting security on all those he holds dear. Although many are annoyed they listen as Derek tried to take on the mob boss (his half brother). Boy oh boy is this book something else! It’s hot and steamy, yes. But the development of the characters and the twists and turns keep you on edge. I can’t wait to read the rest!! You will NOT regret this book buy and I personally have already hooked a fellow book lover into this series!
A chapter book with a couple different stories included. Mysteries for the upper elementary aged kids. Gregory and his friend, Robes Pierre, will take you on an adventure to try to find out the “whats” of the stories inside
**The Mystery of the Missing Meteor Fields Carrots — What happens when a meteor hits a field of carrots…. **The Mystery of the Haunted Amusement Park — In Carrot World, there is something funny going on…. **The Clue in the Airwhale Art – Gregory a Carrot Ship but feels like hes always being watched.
I really enjoyed them and highly recommend for anyone to give this book a read!
This author is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Highly recommend reading this series in order. Derek, Jordan and Justine are going to pull you into their world so fully you will lose track of the outside world. Each of them had a piece of my heart by the end. This author knows how to keep readers engaged and turning the pages as quickly as possible. The characters are well developed and easy to connect with and I’m going to miss them. The storyline is well written and definitely steamy. I’m excited to see where the author takes us next with this amazing series. Four big stars and highly recommended!
The Sins of Men: An American Revolutionary War Drama By Danny J. Bradbury
This is the first historical fiction that I have read and the first book for me by Danny J. Bradbury. I would not normally read this type of book. How ever I did enjoy the book and I would recommend it to those who like historical drama fiction. There are 83 short chapters to this book which are easy to follow. Danny J. Bradbury developed his characters well. I feel there were a couple of areas of this book that didn’t need to be as drawn out as they were, but overall the book was well written. So this book is about a 10 year old boy who in an attempt to feed his brothers and sisters picks the wrong person to try and rob. Because of this he is caught and sent before the magistrate and is sent to prison for ninety days. From there he is then made to serve the military. As I previously said this is not a book I would normally read, but because of the story line, character development I am rating this book 4 stars

This is the second book in the Golden Age of Mystery Bookclub series, and since I loved the first one so much I knew I had to pick up this one as well. I’ve read a few books by this author, and they definitely have a unique writing style that I enjoy. The way they are able to craft their mysteries is wonderful! I love it when a book can keep me on my toes and guessing the entire way through, but I am always hard-pressed to find one. I found myself unable to figure out what was going to happen as the plot thickened with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. I blew through this entire book in one day! Are you ready for an intriguing and entertaining mystery that will have you yearning for more? Look no further because this one takes the cake! I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us.

Book 3 in the Shattered Embrace series is another great read from the talented Alyndra Quinn. Derek is the focus of Discovering Desire, along with Justine and Jordan. Lucian is still threatening Derek and Zachary and Derek is determined to protect his family at any cost. This book gets deeper into organized crime/mafia while still focusing on Derek as a DOM as well. Overall, it was a great read and addition to the series.
Discovering Desire (Shattered Embrace Series) by Alyndra Quinn. This is such a good series that has BDSM plus the mafia so what more could you ask for! Its best to read these books in order because the characters are all intertwined. This is Derek, Justine & Jordan’s story, they each have their own story but their stories are also deeply in each others! Derek has decided to take over the families syndicate from his half brother Lucien. This creates a enemy for Derek and his friends and family in Lucien. He will do everything in his power to get back at Derek. Justine is still observing “Shattered Embrace” and has only had one embarrassing slip and wants to participate so bad but is too scared. Jordan is moving on in other areas of her life so she wants something more permanent with Derek. Will Derek be able to keep Lucien from ending it all for him. Will Justine learn to let go and actually get what her heart desires? Will Jordan get more from Derek or will she have to walk away from him. Read this sexy, fun, dark romance to find out!
4 Stars Love Rinkside (The Playmakers Series) by G. K. Brady
Love Rinkside is part of The Playmakers Series and I absolutely loved reading it. It’s a Sports Romance that will have you turning the pages till the end. The characters are fully developed, relatable and complex, they bring the story to life. I loved how at times they had me laughing so hard it was hard to breathe. It’s a fast-paced story that is light hearted at times. Drew and Katie are great, both have life issues but one fun night and things might just be going good until a dog attack. He wants another date and she’s swore off men. Can these two have a relationship with a happy ending? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

This is a very short read and action-packed to keep the reader engaged. The author does really well incorporating the backstory of Elijah and Jude into the present story. The story does flow well and is very easy to follow from the beginning. All of the characters, even the minor ones, are very well developed.
Love Rinkside is a fun, sweet novella thats is part of the Playmakers series and such an enjoyable book to listen to. Perfect narration, the story flowed so easily and I didn’t want it to end! Drew and Katie are not looking for love in so many ways…and nothing like a Halloween costume party to start getting to know them.
Drew is all work when it comes to his IT business…focused and not looking into find a relationship. Katie sworn off men, sick of feeling used. When Drew and Katie have an interesting night at a costume party .. they decided to take a chance on a date. One date up there another things are spicy and steamy with the connections and deniable what happens when there is a little bit of bump in the road. When that develops into feelings, blurred lines … will that deter the connection between Drew and Katie… or bring them closer then they expected in so many good ways.
I definitely recommend this book to listen to. It was a great story and I look forward to listening to more of this series.

This is a very cute read and it shows that sometimes it takes a few times to try to figure things out. The illustrations are very colorful and will keep the little ones engaged. With each page there is an activity going on that the children can relate to while in class.
A Vampire in Disguise is an unexpected gem. Definitely unique in its telling. It has been a while since a book has surprised me. At first, I thought by the cover that it was a YA story but that is not the case. It’s like Grimm meets Midnight, Texas mashed together to make one intriguing mystery paranormal tale. Two of my favourite shows. There is a plethora of characters of all shapes, sizes, and ages, they are quirky, others plain odd, some stay and have a part in the story and others just disappear from the focus, but all are supernatural’s or magical beings. There are a few things that frustrated me, and I am hoping that they will be explained or shared in coming books but overall, I enjoyed this tale. Hazel follows her sister to Shadow Hollow a small town where paranormal seem to gravitate to and where they guard their secrets. It’s the place Hazel is determined to find out what happened to her sister. There is humour and wit infused along the way that made me, laugh also with a major shiver of doom to be had as you are made aware of the bad guys. What is hidden amongst the shadows of this small town?

This is a fun and entertaining story that helps to teach kids the importance of seeking help from friends. It was really interesting to see the dynamics between the two main characters. I loved what they had to teach and I loved even more how engaged my kids were with the story. Although different ages, by my children enjoyed the story. They found the adventures to be so amusing and really enjoyed the rhymes within the story. Overall, we thought this was a fun story and it is one that has been read multiple times.

This book is a great paranormal mystery story that is easy to engaged with and an enjoyable story. I connect with the characters of this book straight away and loved watching how they all interacted. They were each interesting in different ways and added to the story overall. I enjoyed how the author developed the story. I was invested in everything happening and wanted to find out what happened to the sister. The book starts of fairly slow, but builds as it goes on. I thought this lent itself to really drawing the reader in even more. This is a great start to a new series and I am looking forward to seeing what comes next.

I love this author and she is one of my favorites….Unexpected Heros is a MM Romance as Jude and Elijah try and navigate feelings, knowing that they were hurt in the past for different reasons. This story was fantastic and I love the bond of Jude and Elijah. I love a good second chance romance and this story gave me all the feels…..
Jude is trying to live each day at a time. Realing from a loss, he is alone in his thoughts…and in between his security detail jobs, he does not want to go down the deep spiral….until he ends up getting a new neighbor. Elijah is new in town, trying to start a brand new life with his son. Elijah never expected to be embraced by not only his new neighbor, Jude, but also his new job. When unsettling things start happening to Elijah…will Jude be able to save Elijah and his son when they need him the most? Will Jude be able to get past his loss and be able to move on and love again?
