When I first started to read this book I went into it expecting a simple age gap romance but it truly is so much more. Filled with many twists and turns along the way and characters that will have you re-evaluating them constantly this really is an intriguing read.

The Sins of Men is an American Revolution War drama. The main character, Peter, starts as a 10 year old boy that is an alley rat stealing for his family. Unfortunately for him he is caught and thrown in prison. Peter is then selected for duty on a Navy ship heading for the Americas. This book is set during the American Revolution and has key points in history that are a great tie in. There is so much growth for Peter in this book that it blew me away. I’ve never read a historical drama before but this defiantly will not be my last. If you want a truly gripping tale that will leave you wanting more this book is for you.

I have read a couple other books by this author, and it is just as incredible if not more so! There are three novellas within these pages, and I loved each one. I can’t even pick a favorite because they were that entertaining. Each story contains the steamiest of scenes and generally have themes of BDSM. The author wastes no time diving into the excitement and never slowed down at any point. There are no lulls in any of the stories at all. The characters are well developed, and I loved each of them for different reasons. It’s difficult to pick a favorite couple, but I think Penelope and Victor/Vlad stole my attention more than the others. This book is definitely packed with spice, so grab a fan now because you’ll need it! I can’t wait to pick up more by this author as they’ve quickly become a favorite to follow. If you enjoy steamy stories with engaging plots and wonderful characters, this is absolutely for you!

The author does a good job in keeping the setting and the era as it is portrayed in history. From the beginning there is a lot of action to keep the reader engaged. The main character, Peter, is very well portrayed as a young boy to his adult years. I recommend reading this book, I couldn’t put the book down, I had to know what would happen next. It’s very easy to comprehend and I love how the author incorporates each character’s perspective throughout the novel.

This was a fun read! Lexi’s book club is meeting again and this time they are discussing the way that Josephine Tey handled mysteries. Lexi gets a call from her long lost sister who soon shows up on her doorstep under mysterious circumstances. The next day, Lexi finds a dead guy in her backyard and her sister is packing up and getting away as quickly as possible. Lexi is sure her sister has nothing to do with the guy in her backyard but does she really know her sister?
There are several plot twists, secrets, lots of deception and more in this great read!

The Sins of Men: An American Revolutionary War Drama, by Danny J. Bradbury, is a tale weaved of historical fiction where we meet of a young boy named Peter. Peter is living in poverty as a young boy, and if his life wasn’t hard enough already, he makes a decision out of desperation to help his family and his young little life suddenly becomes darker and hopeless. At ten years old, he is thrown into prison and has to struggle to survive and stay safe. Then he is forced to join the war to fight against the French and the hopelessness settles in. But when he finally escapes the shadows that shackle him, he finds some purpose again.
While there were definitely many parts of this story that made my heart shatter for Peter, his ability to dig deep and find courage and resilience within himself during the harshest of times really captured the strength of the human spirit passionate to live, wanting to find a purpose to keep going. This story was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. This story had just the right amount of intricate detail and clearly knows this era well. The characters were not all good, or likeable but they were perfect in their roles to tell this tale.

This is the 3rd book in the Sparky of Bunker Hill series. I have loved these books from the start when we first mean Sparky and her friends. This is a murder mystery series sent in the 1930s, which the author attention to detail really brings this era to life. You can’t help but fall in love with the main character Sparky. She is an 11 Year old kid, who at times acts beyond her years. But she also has a way of viewing the world from a child’s perspective and that leads to trouble being her second name. This story is full of twists and turns as well as banter and laughter. In this story Sparky’s friend and boss Bookie is framed for a murder that happened at the old tourist attraction of Monkey Island. Sparky knows that her boss is a criminal but he isn’t a murderer. So she now needs to find a way to prove his innocence. With so many twists and turns will she ever get to the proof she needs? To make matters worse Sparky returning to school doesn’t go well so she is placed in an internship with no other that Officer Mug and Detective Bernie. Could this help Sparky get to the truth and find the proof she needs to prove Bookie’s innocence? Sparky is one determined child who will stop at nothing to prove her friends innocence. No matter what obstacles she faces or how hopeless things seem she never gives up until she gets to the truth. I can’t wait for her next adventure.

Drew and Katie meet at a Halloween costume party. They bond over their quirky costumes. Their chemistry is immediate even with the barrier of their costumes. It isn’t until later in the evening that their true identities are found out. What follows is a quick and steamy read. The angst level is perfect for this novella. I thought the characters were well written and enjoyed their banter. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my first book by G. K. Brady and will definitely be going back to read the other Playmakers books.

K.C. Cunningham is the daughter of a man who has a high standing in society and his trophy wife, and she has a sister, they all are entitled and cut from the same cloth, well apart from K.C. that is, she does not look or act like them at all. Chamberlain “The Predator” Lawrence is a man on a mission, he trains hard to achieve his ambitions and has a body to prove his determination, as well as looks which have every girl swooning over him. K. C. is nineteen and all she wants is to live her life free from their control, but up until now, she has never had the courage to defy them, that is until she meets a man.
One day K.C. is at the local gym and has just finished a class when as she leaves, she bumps into a wall of muscle and he takes her breath away, but she also does the same to him, especially when his friend comes up behind her and startles her so much that she throws him to the floor! After leaving in a rush of embarrassment, K.C. returns the next day to find him there again, but she is too shy to say anything, so when he finally comes over first, his demanding nature immediately sets her teeth on edge, however, when a less authoritarian side comes out, she agrees to go for lunch with him.
This is where a passionate flame ignites and consumes them both over the next few months, however, nothing is smooth sailing and K.C.’s family take offence to him, but they are not the only outside force wishing to keep them apart, but is there love worth fighting for, or will heartbreak and deception tear them apart before they have even really begun? This is a steamy romance with intrigue and an emotional rollercoaster which will hook you in and keep you enthralled throughout, as two opposites collide in an inferno of passion.

Master Bistrita is the eleventh book in the Masters of the Consulate series by Sylvia Black. It is another dark paranormal romance with fated mates, vampires, shifters, witches, magic, rogues, pure bloods, politics, agendas, dramatic developments, BDSM, age gap, supernatural elements, secrets, lies, powerful foes, unexpected allies, danger, tension, intrigue, chemistry, sizzle, action, and more. This is Master Bistrita and Chara’s story- which is a dark, tense, romantic suspense-that not only tells their story, but also helps build onto the bridging story which has been developing over the course of the series. Again, as with the rest of the series, this is told from a duel POV- which helps deliver a fuller perspective- while building a bigger picture of developments. There is a lot going on here, and a large ‘cast’ of characters- delivering a fast-paced read that’s descriptive and detailed. The next is instalment — “Master Slobozia” (Book #12) releases in October, and I’m curious to see where we go from here. Happy Reading…

“How many times will you risk your heart for love?”
From Darkness Into Love is the first book in the Hope & Hearts From Swan Harbor series by Sophie Bartow. It is an angsty and emotional small town contemporary romance- with suspense, intrigue, mystery, drama, danger, heartache, pain, loss, 2nd chances, chemistry, steam, family, friendship, and the healing power of love. This might have been my first read by Ms. Bartow, but it certainly won’t be the last. Happy Reading…

The Predator Part Two is the second book in The Predator Series by Brooke May– and continues Katie and Chamberlain’s story we started in Part One. It is a passionate contemporary, second chance, sports romance, where opposites attract- bringing angst, emotion, angst, secrets, lies, suspense, drama, chemistry, and lots of sizzle. Chamberlain and KC are from two different worlds, but the heart wants what the heart wants- and as we discovered in Part One- these two have quite a journey and story to tell. As this continues what we started in Part One, I highly recommend reading the first book before starting on this one, as otherwise you will be missing the start of their story and all the important details contained there. Ms. May never ceases to deliver an engrossing and heart-strumming story that toys with my emotions – resulting in an engaging story that I can easily connect with, while getting completely invested in the characters and the outcome of their tale. Highly recommended- especially if you like MMA romances with sizzling chemistry. The Series Consists of: -The Predator Part One (Book #1) – Katie and Chamberlain’s Story. -The Predator Part Two (Book #2) – Katie and Chamberlain’s Story. -Wildfire Knockout (Book #3) – Beth and Scott’s Story. -Back In the Ring (Book #4) – Bijou and Noah’s story. No One Could See the Flea Tricia Gardella is an illustrated children’s picturebook with a cute story that my grandchildren thought was fun. The illustrations are bright, colourful, and engaging- which made the ‘adventure’ come to life. What happens when Shank, the dog, gets an itch? We join in as his owner, Jack, tries everything that he, and his friends, can come up with to rid Shank of his fleas. What ensues turns into a bit of a crazy romp… Looking forward to more stories from Tricia Gardella. Highly recommended. Happy Reading!

Now that Chamberlain has found the one that got away he doesn’t want to let her go again. They have so many things and people against them that it seems impossible for them to get a happily ever after. K.C. and Chamberlain couldn’t be more different but as the saying goes, opposites attract. K.C. grew up in a prominent family as the daughter of a senator. Everything was dictated for her from how she walked and talked to the man she would marry. Chamberlain on the other hand grew up poor. The only thong in the world he wants is to be a fighter and he would not deviate from that path. He just never anticipated meeting K.C. and falling in love. Their relationship was as fast as it was furious and it eventually ended up with K.C. getting her heart broken. Now they have come face to face again but she isn’t ready to forgive. Will Chamberlain get K.C. to listen? I can’t wait to start book 2 to see the outcome of K.C. and Chamberlain’s story. I have read several books by this author, but this is my absolute FAVORITE so far. The intense emotions, the drama, the steam! I was absolutely stunned to find how many pages were actually in this book because I devoured the entire story in a day. Needless to say, I got nothing else done that day. The characters are very well developed and relatable. Katie/K.C. and Chamberlain have so much chemistry that it’s hard to contain within the confines of these pages! The spice between them is magnificently done, and the plot definitely doesn’t rely on the steamy scenes to keep the story going. A couple of the characters made me yell out of frustration as well. If you enjoy contemporary romances with a solid plot and wonderfully spicy scenes sprinkled in, get your hands on this book. I am on pins and needles waiting to pick up the next book because I need more!

Just when you believe two twere destined to be together so much can tear them apart. Trying to pick up the pieces and put them back together again bit by bit…this story of Jamie and Blakely was just that….
Jamie and Blakely grew up together and became inseparable since Blakely was the new girl in town. Jamie and his circle of friends welcomed Blakely as one of their own. When Jamie and Blakely develop this love for each other, they feel nothing can tear them apart. When Jamie leaves for the military, he lets Blakely know he will not be coming back home. Having to pick up the pieces of a broken heart, Blakely moves on with her life one day at a time. Fighting his inner demons, Jamie tries to stay distant….but when hidden truths come out including past hurts between Jamie and Blakely……will Blakely and Jamie be able to move forward and make amends…..

Naomi Valkyrie never fails to write a story that keeps you hooked from the first page. I have read quite a few by her and I have loved every single one. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I like stories that are told from multiple characters point of view. You get to know each character more. You get to know how they each think instead of just one side. This is a second chance love story. Both characters feel quite defeated after a loss. Both feel the need to start fresh. But can they move on from their past to find love again? When their past comes calling, will they get past it?
Red is the second book in the Modern-Day Fairy Tale series by M.K. Harkins. It follows Lily and George as they navigate life, love, and crazy women intent on ruining lives. Marilee, Fannetta, and Zuriel – fairy godmothers and guardian angel – band together to help. The book was well written and captivating. I didn’t read the first book but would highly encourage others to as it really sets up this book. I plan to go back and read it while I eagerly await the third!

The Predator: Part One (The Predator Series Book 1)
I was hooked from the very beginning and I’m so ready to get started on part 2 of Chamberlain and K.C.’s story
I have read several books by Ms. May over the last few years so I knew her style and what to expect, but this book exceeded my expectations.
There were some very sweet moments and some hot moments and each one kept me wanting more of this sweet couple.
As someone who doesn’t have a good relationship with my Mom, my heart broke for K.C with each interaction with her family. I wish I had been able to find a Fiona in my life. She stepped up when everyone else failed K.C.
Chamberlain knew what he wanted to do with his life and was going to do everything possible to make it happen, didn’t expect to fall in love along the way and thankfully that didn’t derail his plans.
If you’re on the ropes about reading this book hopefully my review will help sway you.

Chamberlain is in Denver for one of his fights. Has she come to see his fight? Where has she been for the past few years? Are two questions burning into his thoughts. Over the time that has passed Katie is still the only girl that he wants in his life. Going back in time KC was sent to live with her aunt after she refused to abort the child she was carrying. KC met Beth when her water broke in the supermarket, Beth stayed with KC throughout her labour and delivery staying when her aunt and partner arrived. Since that day they have not spent a day apart.
Beth and KC took Marissa who is now nearly four to play in the kids’ pool only to find our there was a private party happening. They had to beg the manager to allow them to use the pool. Much to Katie’s dismay Chamberlain is at this party and they bump into each other. Even worse as Beth and Katie are leaving, they once again bump into Chamberlain. Marissa looks at Chamberlain and asks if he is her daddy. Katie did not foresee what this day would bring to her. KC backs down and allows Chamberlain meet Marissa and loves immediately. He says she is the perfect mixture of his grandma; his mom and his KC. KC decides to take a chance with the only man she will ever love and as a family Chamberlain, KC and Marissa leave Denver as a family. Although KC is happy being back with Chamberlain, she dearly misses Beth. Chamberlain will do anything to have KC happy so he hires Beth to be part of his staff, KC is happy that she will get to see Beth again every day. Being around KC and Chamberlain every day Beth realises she will also have to be around Scott for whom she has no time. There is a lot happening in this book and I can guarantee that if you have read part one and loved it you will also love part two. This is most definitely another 5-star read. I absolutely love this series.

An enjoyable and engaging MMF historical romance. I was transported back to Los Angeles in the 1880’s by the descriptive narrative and the historical details. Nicolo Stark-James is ready to love with his whole heart, but discovers that some despicable people want to ruin it. Meanwhile, Matty Remington longs to feel safe rather than trapped. As a man of strong faith he’s trying to reconcile his love for God with his personal desires. Eden Godwin could be the one to hold all three of them together, if only her future was her own. She must decide between love and saving her family from ruin. The storyline kept me happily turning the pages. I loved the three main characters, Nicolo, Matty and Eden and felt invested in their story. The chemistry between the three of them sizzled off the page and led to some steamy MMF scenes. Another entertaining story in the ‘Hearts of Gold’ series.

The Predator: Part Two is just as good as the first book if not better. No, it’s definitely better. It did not disappoint!! It picks up where book one left off so best be reading that one first troops. I now have any questions from the first book answered. Chamberlain wants what’s his and make no mistake Katie is his. He had lost a part of himself when she was gone. OMG heartbroken, tears, longing, pain and that was just me. It will hit you in all the feels then some. But there is some laughter. As I said with the first book this book has just as many intensely complex intertwined complex threads woven into a heartbreakingly beautiful story. I absolutely love the characters that are fully realise and believable. Sexy, steamy, and sizzling. Brooke’s narrative is spot on. Girl knows how to weave a tale and I have enjoyed each and every one I have read to date. She has become one of my fav authors. I am off to read Wildfire Knockout (The Predator #3).

This is the second book in this series in which I enjoyed just as much as the first one. This is an author that I enjoy reading and their ability to pull me into the character’s world with ease. I enjoy their attention to details that make their characters pop and bring the story to life. I highly suggest reading the first book before this one to help with the enjoyment of this author and where the character’s have been before this. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. A second chance romance story where the characters are connectable and engaging. They had me turning pages fast. A fast paced story that kept me turning pages to the end. You don’t want to miss what happens with Chamberlain and K.C. for sure. I highly recommend this book.

This is the third book in this series which is just as great as the previous two books. This is a series that keeps getting better and better with each book. I enjoy this author’s ability to pull me into the character’s world with ease and have me turning pages fast. This is a well written story that is fast paced and engaging. A story of second chances, past loves and tough challenges. Three people who need each other to face family challenges, faith in God and a future that is left in another’s hands to decide. I enjoyed these characters and what they brought to the story. They are connectable and made the story easy to read. An entertaining story that takes place in the 1880’s and one you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book.
