Unexpected Heroes by Naomi Valkyrie. This is a short story about Elijah and Jude who end up being neighbors and more. Elijah has moved to town to start over with his infant son, Griffin and get away from his crazy past. His past relationship was very abusive and having to start over and deal with that is difficult so when Elijah meets Jude and they hit it off it helps so much. Elijah is very skeptical of all the friendly people in town including his new boss and new neighbor. Jude is a grieving widow whose husbands death nearly killed him. He’s also dealing with being a recovering alcoholic so when his heart does a little pitter patter for Elijah he is very interested. They begin spending more time with each other but Elijah is so gun shy still. When Elijah’s past comes back to haunt him and Griffin he does the only thing he knows how, shuts down. Will Jude be able to keep him forming completely leaving town and the chance they have at a relationship?

I had been reading psychological thrillers over the past few weeks and was looking for a book with a different level of excitement to pass my time. Enter Taste of Honey by Julie Castle. A change of pace comprised of three SPICY novellas.
Each novella is approximately 10 chapters long and packed with entertainment from the first word. My favorite was the first story (The Gift) where we watch Penny’s character development as she begins to learn a whole new world. While each of the novellas have a damsel in distress type of undertone, the females were never hopeless and always palpable.
Overall, this was a great series paced well with tons of spice and a great variety of spicy tropes in each installment.

This is the third book in the Sparky of Bunker Hill Mystery series, and I think it’s our favorite so far! I have read all three of these with both of my kiddos although my 12-year-old is definitely the target audience with her ability to sit still through a couple hundred pages. Sparky is an incredible super-sleuth and such a wonderful character in the 1930s. The author painted such a vivid, detailed picture of Los Angeles in that time period and really made me feel like we were there experiencing it. Even though I am far from the target audience of teenagers, I found myself excited throughout this entire book. I highly recommend picking this up if you are a fan of cozy historical mysteries!

I’m not even ashamed to say that I picked up this book just for the cover alone, but I was pleased to find that the story inside was just as incredible. It starts out in Austin, Texas which is a place that is very close to my heart so I had hoped it would do that lovely town justice. This was a new author to me, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but they did an amazing job crafting a gripping, emotionally charged novel. Josie is one of the most relatable characters I have met in quite a while with raising kids and a love life that is far from perfect. It gives off ’13 Going On 30’ movie vibes and I loved every second of it. As soon as I finish this review, I am off to pick up more from this author because everything from the characters to the entertaining time-traveling story was perfect. I highly recommend this book to pretty much everyone!

This isn’t typically a genre that I look for and I hadn’t heard of this author before, but the cover and synopsis drew me in. There is a ton of action throughout this entire book which gripped me from beginning to end. I couldn’t put this book down which surprised me as I thought I would be able to read this leisurely throughout the week. The detailed and vivid imagery captured by this author was unnerving but seemed to accurately portray that period of time in history. The abuse (SA) of a minor was difficult for me especially the first one early on and took me by complete surprise. This is an intense and emotional book that seems well researched. If you enjoy historical fiction then you will likely want to pick this one up.

This is the second book in the Loves Ties Us series, and since I fell in love with the first one so quickly, there was no doubt in my mind that I was grabbing this as soon as possible. I would highly recommend that you pick up the previous book before reading this one, but I promise that it is totally worth it! The stories of Cadence and Damien are emotional, heart-wrenching, and inspiring. These characters are so well-developed that they felt real like old friends of mine. I should have cleared my entire day before picking this book up because I couldn’t put it down and got nothing else done! It is absolutely addicting; don’t say I didn’t warn you. This author proved once again why they quickly made it on to my watchlist and I already need more. If you are looking for a steamy, addictive romance then this should be the next book you pick up!

This was the first book I had read by this author, but the synopsis sounded interesting, so I took a chance and picked it up. I’m so glad I did because this was an incredible book! The amount of time and effort that was put into not only the plot, but into each character, is evident as no detail was left out. There are no holes in this story and every character feels absolutely real and relatable. It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for me, so brace yourself for the intensity. I can’t believe I had never heard of this author before, but now that I’ve found them I will be looking out for more of their work! I highly recommend giving this a chance if you love a good second chance romance with intense emotions and marvelous characters.

In a nut shell this book is the Prequel to the Blind Rebels series and it contains some extras goodies as well. I have not read the Blind Rebels series so I found the prequel part was a great introduction to both the series and this wonderful author and her talented writing which has now made me want to read the series! The “extras” while fantastically written, they didn’t have the impact on me that I am sure they would if I had read the other books. So I will come back to this once I have read the series.

This epic war drama set during the American Revolution had me gripped throughout. Young Peter Beale is being raised in poverty on the streets of Portsmouth, and is forced into crime to survive. He is then abducted by an uncaring Naval Officer and finds himself pressed into service. Once aboard the HMS Progress he learns to cope and harden himself against the constant abuse. When the ship docks in Boston, Peter escapes taking refuge with a local couple. However, his goal is to seek revenge against his abuser. As the war sweeps across the colonies Peter finds himself fighting on the side of the Americans. A fierce sea battle brings him face-to-face with his tormentor, a perfect opportunity to carry out his goal of revenge. I thoroughly enjoyed this well written and researched American Revolution historical novel. I loved the likeable Peter who from humble beginnings participated in pivotal events in history. It was an exciting read but also an emotional one, with regard to Peter’s life and the awful suffering he endured. The historical battles in particular came vividly to life through the descriptive narrative. I look forward to book two!

This is the second book in The Love That Ties Us series. This is a romance with a rockstar and if full of banter, chemistry, desire and angst as they both try to fight against the chemistry they feel. This book had me hooked right from the beginning and I couldn’t help but fall in love with Damien and Cadence. They just fit so perfectly together like a beautiful piece of music with lyrics to match.

Damien is the leader singer of a group called Rebel Rebellion. Along with his career he also has a family who relys on him and trauma from his past that stops him getting close to anyone. He doesn’t have time for women and romance and wasn’t even interested until he met Cadence.

Cadence already has a boyfriend. Her boyfriend is part of a wealthy family and so as his partner she has to ask and behave in a certain way. As time goes on she starts to feel trapped inside a world where she doesn’t belong. Desperate for a break she goes with her sister to a concert and there she meets Damien. The spark between them is instant and undeniable but why does he act like he can’t stand to be near her?

With things already stacked against them surely they stand no chance? Even though Damien knows he shouldn’t get close to her he can’t stop the pull towards her. With seemingly everything stacked against them and keeping them apart with they ever get their chance to find out just how perfect for each other they truly are?
This book was really moving, you could actually feel the couples feelings and emotions jump right off the page. I was totally invested in their story and couldn’t put it down.

This is an enjoyable and engaging romantic suspense story, which kept me happily turning the pages. The quaintness of the small town setting of Swan Harbor was brought vividly to life by the descriptive narrative. The storyline follows Jessie and Cameron as they get a second chance at love. After Cameron saves Jessie he then captured her heart. However, when Jessie left, she left Cameron broken hearted. Years later and Cameron is ready to move on after an unexpected meeting with someone new. Then Jessie returns and their chemistry is still sizzling and they can’t resist one another. However, when the threatening messages return they realise that someone in Swan Harbor wants to keep them apart. They must decide if a second chance at love is worth the risk of staying together. The storyline had me hooked because as the mystery unfolds the suspense mounted. This was a fast paced story with plenty of drama, emotion, action, suspense, and of course romance. The chemistry between Jessie and Cameron came across in the narrative and it did lead to some steamy scenes. I love a story with a guaranteed happy ending, and I recommend picking this book up today!

Unexpected Heroes is an M/M romance. I’ve read several paranormal romances by this author in the past but this story is set in the real world without any fantasy or sci-fi elements. That said, it has many of the other themes and features I’ve come to enjoy from her work such as found family and recovery.

This is an enjoyable read for romance fans who like stories with a bit of drama and action in them. Elijah and Jude both have had difficult experiences in the past that they need to come to terms with as they realise their attraction for each other. In Elijah’s case, the problems of his past aren’t quite over yet.

The pace of this story picks up a bit towards the end, after a gentler start. I felt it left me wanting more, so hopefully there will be more books that tie in with this one to explore some of the other characters!

Unexpected Heroes gets four stars from me! I’d recommend it to fans of M/M romance who like stories with loveable supporting characters and plenty of plot to keep you entertained.

The Music That Ties Us By Nicolette Terry is the second book in the Love Ties Us series. I would say this could be read as a stand-alone but I recommend reading the first book either way. I absolutely ate this book up, read it beginning to end in less than a day. It’s beautifully written, and extremely relatable throughout almost the entire book. Cadence and her story absolutely resonated with me, which is probably why I devoured it! Definitely keeping an eye out for this author from now on!

This was an enjoyable read from start to finish. This is the first book I have read by this author and I’m glad I chose to dive in. This story has drama, second chances, mystery, family, friends, small town, and great characters. Cameron and Jessie had been through so much in their lives since they were young. I couldn’t help but find myself rooting for their love to conquer all. This book goes back and forth in time to bring the story together and gives us a good understanding of how everything played out. There are also other great characters in this book that are going through their own situations. This book was a quick read for me and I was entertained throughout. I recommend this book.

This collection of cutscenes and the novella gives you a deeper, richer view into this series. The anger I felt when Becka did all the dirty things she did!! Oh my! And she stopped taking her meds!!! I might not have liked Dom, but he was right about her.

This was a great small collection! I actually like this type of thing, when authors give you the extras you can’t get on the DVD. 😂

The novella was phenomenal. Add the extras were a blast. If you love this series, you will love this bonus! However, read with caution because you just might want to unalive/hurt/ma!m Becka. I know I did.

The Sins of Men: An American Revolutionary War Drama by Danny J Bradbury is the first book in The Peter Smith Chronicles. An absorbing historical drama centering around the era of the American Revolutions occupation in Boston, Concorde, and Bunker Hill. I’m a sucker for anything history based so I grabbed this as soon as I was given the chance. This book is wonderfully written, from several POV’s that make it easy to keep yourself on track and invested. Such a moving work of historical fiction, I can’t wait to see what else is in store!

I love The Playmakers Series!! And Love Rinkside is the next book I dove into. This time it’s not the players of the team but people on the outside. People who run in the player’s circles but aren’t professional Hockey players or work for the team.
This author has a way of sucking one in. And if you’re like me and a sucker for sports romances you won’t be able to resist!
Must love dogs! If Katie finds someone like that it’s the key to her heart. However she’s on a “manhating” adventure in her life. Feeling used in dejected she decided it was time for herself. What she didn’t expect was for Nat’s brother Drew to fall right into her lap. However despite their agreement for no strings she’s falling and falling hard. What is she going to do?
Drew does things to make his sister happy. That is when he has time. So when she drug him to a mascot costume party he thought he could just do what he usually does. Sit in the corner as a loner. He wasn’t expecting the breath of fresh air Katie just happened to be. A spitfire that allows him to be himself. One problem he’s quite happy being single, however he can’t ignore the attraction. He also can’t ignore the deep feelings he’s developing. What started off as a fling is becoming much more.
They are both afraid of what’s ahead of them? Neither wants to get hurt or hurt the other, but unless they can figure out how to communicate that potentially the road they are headed down.
Do they admit how they truly feel?
Or will it be too little too late?
Again I’m a sucker for a good sports romance, and this author is a good one for that. You won’t be disappointed!!

Having just gone through gastric surgery, this book is turning out to be a great help. Reading through I have learned many ways to help myself get control of my body and mind. Which I have learned is so much more important than just weight loss. I have been through so many diet books and failed at many. This is one book that is well worth the reading. Many books out there have suggestions but none have been this helpful. The author of this book really knows her stuff. You can tell she has done her research, which I admire in an author. I hope this book helps you with your weight loss as well as your struggles to get healthy.

From Darkness into Love (Hope & Hearts from Swan Harbor Book 1) by Sophie Bartow. This is a second chance romance and my first book by this author but it will for sure not be my last. I loved it. Its full of drama, romance, grief, mystery & family. Jessie & Cameron grew up together and eventually that friendship turned to romance. Cam was with Jessie thru all kinds of ups and downs including the loss of her parents. When she decides all the tragedy is too much and leaves town to pursue her skating career it leaves Cam broken hearted. After Jessie suffers an injury she returns home for a friends wedding and sees Cam. Cam had finally moved on and tried to get over Jessie but when he sees her all those old feelings come back. Will he let Jessie back in after hurting him so badly? There are other things that do not want them together and when that mystery turns up again it may be the end of them for good. When Cam finds out the real reason Jessie left town will it make them or break them. Read this amazing second chance romance to find out!

What a great Sci-Fi series this will be! This book has the small town charm that makes you fall in love with it. Bring on the characters, the mystery, murder and drama and bam you have yourself a book that you won’t be able to put down.

Claire gets off track with a detour and ends up in small town Allenville. After sending a message to her twin Moria she comes up missing. Moria finds herself in town a few days later on the search for her sister and some answers. She doesn’t expect to discover what she will unravel after falling for a town member.

Little does she know there’s more to the town than meets the eye and it’s not just bears lurking in the woods watching. She quickly discovers the truth to this hidden town. But will she believe it? Will she stay? Will she find her sister? Grab this book and these questions are all answered with a quick read!

Taste of Honey (Taste of Honey Series) is a complete set of three short stories that are super packed with all the steamy spicy you need. There’s a story about a librarian, a journalist and even a lady stranded in Paris. The characters are all well developed and bring all the extra spice to each story. I wasn’t real sure what to expect going in but whew I was glad I dove right in. I pretty much devoured this whole book in one afternoon sitting. I highly recommend reading this complete set. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

The Queen’s Dance is the second Heart & Hand Series book. This book follows Claire, the younger sister of Anna. Though this book is part of a series, you can read it without reading book one. In this story, Claire has decided to guard her heart but soon finds love. As tragedy unfolds, Claire has to adapt and evolve to survive. If possible, I enjoyed this book more than the first. The author’s amazing world-building and well-written characters stand front and center. You experience such an array of emotions just in the book’s first quarter. I loved seeing old characters return and their growth. There is as much adventure as the first. The romance is fabulous and the dialogue is witty and has good humor. You find yourself hooked quite easily. I look forward to the third book.

Meanwhile bird is trying to tell mouse that his plan just isn’t going to work. Mouse doesn’t find out why until after his plan fails. Then bird explains and decides to help him with his next plan. Great lesson in not giving up after failing on your first attempt. Great illustrations as well.

Seriously loved this series, I can’t wait to continue into book 3. I will tell you that my heart goes out to K.C. throughout this storyline. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be treated like I didn’t really belong especially in a world that really relies on family values and yet to be hidden because I fell in love with “the wrong person”. There are moments in the story that I get rather angry with because K.C. works so hard to keep her “family” away from her daughter and yet somehow they weasel their way into her life yet without caring about how she feels. I promise you that this series is amazing and you don’t want to skip it.

There are moments in the story that I get rather angry with because K.C. works so hard to keep her “family” away from her daughter and yet somehow they weasel their way into her life yet without caring about how she feels. I promise you that this series is amazing and you don’t want to skip it.

Manageable, helpful, achievable! Gone are the days of trying diet after diet, trend after trend. To have long term results you have to make life changes. This book starts with basic knowledge and understanding of WHY our bodies work the way they do and then gives strategies to make changes necessary for long term results. It is far more than “Eat this, not that…” and “Do this, not that..”. It makes goals feel achievable and possible without any shame or negativity involved! I am so glad I found this book!

I enjoyed this book. It is part of a series about Dinopotamus and how he interacts with his friends. I love how this series shows inclusion of Dinopotamus who is different than the others. The children are not scared of Dinopotamus and they learn from him and make sure he is included in all of the activities. I recommend this book and series for children who love to read.

I couldn’t wait to get in between the pages of this one because I was such a mess after finishing book 1 ! I must admit every year she’s was worth it !

Yes I still despise the Cunningham clan ! They’re awful people 🤬😱🤮 and so much heartache could’ve been avoided if it weren’t for them , then they still have the cheek to pitch up at Katie’s home and threaten her 🤬
I don’t want to give them anymore airtime than I need to so there’s Fiona who’s an absolute gem , a mother / grandmother in the way it matters most Beth who’s a real friend , Scott still makes me laugh , he comes across as a player and tough guy but he’s like jelly really , Chamberlain owns my heart as for Katie but then we have precious little Marissa who just wins everyone over with her blue eyes and blonde curls … our little mini bit 🥰😉

I love how chamberlain never gave up , the way he saves them till they’re married , he’s a keeper that’s for sure , the way he adores his girls and loves on those that he calls family just melts my heart 🥰I love that they they roll as unit ! Oh Let’s not forget the remodel of the car … bonus points for you Predator 😉
