The Promised Plan was my first book by this author, and it was an absolute whirlwind of emotions for me. I loved the flow of this story and the way that the characters felt incredibly real. You really go on this journey the moment you open the book. I feel like every family has their own issues and works through them accordingly, but this story tells of a beautiful redemption and strong bonds. Prepare yourself for an amazingly woven journey where the deepest parts of their faith are tested. I highly recommend picking this one up. I can’t wait to see what Sharon Hughson has in store for us next!

Holy Smokes! This author did it again! Another story that brings all the emotions and gave me chills! I am talking a tears streaming, snot flowing kind of read and I don’t cry while reading. This storyline is ..man just amazing! I loved it from the beginning all the way to the end. She really give her all to these characters and makes them pop out of the pages, become three dimensional and enact the story right in front of the reader. I have so many highlights and favorite passages

While I like Ella Mae…I loved Hank. He is a character I didn’t give much thought to in previous stories. He wasn’t too exciting and kinda did his own thing. In here I got a look into his thoughts and ideas. He has a lot going on. I LOVED when he met his idol!! How he went fan crazy and googly eyed with his big goofy grin plus the way he acted when he went to that infamous cafe in Nashville…same just in awe! His excitement was palpable! I can’t even imagine!

I really went through ALL the feels with this story. Even had chills..it is soo good! I love this one so much! I have so many passages highlighted in here! One of my favorite that I think encompasses the theme of this story.

“Family they are like a reflection of the WORST and the BEST of you”

I look forward to the next in the series….please don’t make me cry again 🙂

I’m a sucker for a good second chance romance…and this one was pretty good.

Celia and Kyle run into each other at a friend’s wedding and the 8 years that they have spent trying to get over each other melts away. Their love and attraction is felt off the pages. But, when Celia reveals a secret that she has hidden since they went their separate ways, their reunion might be short lived. Can Kyle move past a secret like this? And can he forgive her for the choice she made (without him) all those years ago?

I enjoyed these characters. There were times when I wanted to bop each of them on the head…but overall they were good. This was a pretty quick read filled with the best parts of a second chance romance…deceit, surprises, and chemistry. Overall, a good book. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.

I have spent a long time trying to decide how to review this book. This author is talented and her writing style is good but on this occasion I really struggled to connect with the characters which then effected my overall enjoyment of the book. The Blurb drew me in and the potential storyline appealed to me greatly but without that connection that I was craving it fell short for me. Now having said that it doesn’t mean that the next person to pick up this book won’t highly enjoy it so I still recommend giving it a go.

Breathless Love is the third novel in the Bennetts of Langston Falls Series. Although part of a series, this installment can easily be read as a standalone. This novel tells the story of Hank Bennett, Ella Mae Miller, and Travis Miller. Breathless love will have you laughing, cursing under your breath at certain characters and their stupid actions, and crying all in the matter of one chapter. Each character has a heart of gold in their own individualized way making all of the characters lovable and relatable. I’m not much of a country music fan but this novel had my heart strumming to the beat of a guitar! It’s been awhile since I have read a book that gave me a good “ugly cry” but this one did it for me. I highly recommend this small town, friends to lovers romance.

Underneath the Whiskey

This is a fantastic story. It looks at Benjamin who at first glance seems to have everything. However, as we all know, there is more than meets the eye. When he meets Caden he is forced to face things that he thought he had put behind him, or at least he would be able to ignore. Benjamin is such a well written character who faces situations that are like those we face in our lives – those situations where there is no easy answer and where there is no way that everyone involved can be happy. Benjamin and the story are so wrought with emotion. I definitely found myself unable to put this book down, reading as fast as I could, as I felt I was riding every emotion that Benjamin was. I definitely recommend reading this, as I can guarantee you will be unable to put it down and will be taken on an emotional journey.

A middle child with two sisters and a mother that passed away from cancer this past October, you’d probably assume I would want to steer clear of this book but I was really drawn in by the synopsis. Adult relationships are complex, especially those of mother/daughter and sibling variety and I really felt like the characters were very well written with great depth to them. I really enjoyed that the story is written in multiple perspectives and allowed for a glimpse in each character’s mind. While an emotional read, this book was truly inspirational and uplifting with several glimpses of hope and lessons that while things might not work out like you planned them, they might just work out the way they’re meant to. I really found comfort in this author’s writing style and would read more from her again.

I was drawn to this book the second I saw that this is a True Crime Memoir. I, like many others, am deep down the True Crime rabbit hole. I watch every documentary, listen to every podcast, and follow everything true crime. So it was a no brainer that I was going to read this book. But the real question was, was I going to enjoy it? More often than not, I find that many of the True Crime books fall short of what I expect. This is NOT one of those. This book kept me reading and engaged throughout every page. This book truly shows how one person can make one decision that alters the course of their life. What Toby Dorr sets out to do is show that you are not defined by that decision but how you can find redemption afterwards. This is not your typical I was a female inmate story. Nor is it the typical I made a mistake and now I’m an inmate story. Rather this is a close look at one woman, her experiences, and how she is choosing to give back to others. I definitely recommend this one! It is such a different and amazing look at one woman. So great for those who love the true crime genre.

This was a really good book! The circus aspect was very different from what I expected and nothing I’ve honestly ever read before. It was very easy for me to get immersed in this story. My one complaint is that the timelines changed pretty abruptly, so I kept losing my focus during chapters changes. There is a lot of mystery and untold things that take a while to get to the bottom of, and I’m ready to see what happens in book two for sure! This story does end on a cliffhanger, for anyone who doesn’t like that happening.

This book is such an amazingly sweet historical fiction. The kind that you have a hard time putting down, that you are disappointed when it ends. These characters are well written with such depth and believability.
Let me start by telling you that this is book 6 in the series. However, it definitely functions as a standalone. This is the first book in this series that I have read and I was not lost or confused at all. This is not the last book in this series that I will be reading though. I just ordered all of them to catch up.
This is a well written second chance romance with so much believability. There are many times when I read a second chance romance and I feel like it all is so unbelievable. However, this did not seem forced, rather I felt like I was transported back in time and it all made sense. I felt the chemistry between the characters and definitely found myself rooting for them. I definitely recommend picking up this story if you get a chance as you will not be disappointed.

Exceptionally good. the transitions between POV of Truly and Jeff caught me off guard but once I understood it flowed nicely.
The world building was moderately paced with the perfect unraveling.

If you love mystery, deities, supernatural, and strong female leads this is the book for you. Truly seems to be the unwanted child a black sheep. But she is far from that. Her memories were suppressed and only brought forth thanks to a cunningly deceptive therapist. Will truly unlock the secrets of her past? What does that mean for her future ?

Awaiting #2 to see where her journey goes.

He’s very angry at his wife and so very afraid of death that it is consuming his life. When he finally realizes that there is more to life than despair and tragedy he sets off on a journey of self awareness and finds that there is so much more to live for.He begins to open his heart to live and experiences that bring him joy. He learns that not everyone is out to get you and that some people do love unconditionally. This is such a deep, emotional read that shows you the very personal side of one man’s journey. Showing all of us that we too can dig out of that pit of despair if we really set our minds to it.

Hooooooolllllllllllllllllllyyyyy Cow. Chandler could tie me up anytime. Oh, that voice. I am in for this series, be it two or twelve books.

Can we talk about, just for one second, how this book ended? I mean, all the unanswered questions. There is so much I need to know. So much I want to know. Will she forgive him for leaving her in the silks that way? How linked are their families? How much danger are they in? Why did they go after the ex-wife? So many questions!!!

The way this author describes the way things feel, smell, taste, sound, or look is absolutely impressive. This book was a feast for the senses. When does the 2nd one come out? Tomorrow? Yesterday?

In an ever changing world, this book gives new meaning to the word family. Family is not only about who you choose to love but who loves you. It is about the family you are born with as well as the family you choose to create. This beautiful, sometimes harsh, look at a true modern family is beautiful and heartwarming and wonderful and accepting.

This story is about Dane and Mike. Although they have dedicated their lives to each other, each is searching for something more. Dane wants to bring a woman into their relationship so that they can have a family. Mike is not sure and so he reacts by cruising for men. Dane meets a woman that he feels deeply connected to but she is not interested in his version of family. Mike finds and brings a woman to the relationship. Mike falls in love with her, while Dane grows to love her. She becomes what Dane always wanted, and adds children to their life. All the while, Dane continues to develop a relationship with his deep connection. Each partner finds their own version of happiness.

The honesty between Mike and Dane, the acceptance, the love, the desire, the ability to share their partner’s dreams while not stifling their own, the understanding, is relationship goals. This author has made my list to watch, a permanent spot on the TBR List.

This is the third in the series but it can be read as a standalone. Personally I think it best to read the first two books to get some background of the people around them and the world they inhabit.

I wasn’t expecting this to be so heartfelt and affect me emotionally in the way that it did, and despite the book hangover I now have, I love how emotionally invested I was in the couple.

Angelo and Luciana’s story is a slow burn but it’s the sweetest and so worth all the tension and waiting. I love this couple so much.

The characters are lovable and feel real. As usual, I want so much more from these characters and this series.

Tally and her dad are in Japan for business where she meets the Aikawas and their son, Yoshi, and his friend Miyu. The children get to explore Japan with museums, sumo wrestling, graves, and magic drums. I want to read the previous two adventures to learn exactly how Tally got her angel, Jophiel.

An entertaining and enjoyable cozy mystery drama which had me hooked from start to finish. The likeable and relatable main character, mystery editor and amateur sleuth Taylor Browning along with her “cantankerous cat” Oscar and Cheddar had me happily turning the pages. Taylor, an honorary member of the Santa Fe Wine and Crime book club, becomes involved in the search for the club president when she goes missing. Taylor goes undercover as a delivery driver who’s involved in the Mayan Death Pepper trafficking, but when the restaurateur who uses them in his dishes disappears things get more complicated. Whilst at the book publishing office, Taylor is dealing with numerous crisis’s after an employee is fired by CEO Jessica Endicott, leaving the publisher in financial trouble. Taylor and friend Jim Wells then find themselves in jeopardy in the Pecos Wilderness, not knowing who to trust. Detective Victor Sanchez races to their rescue but they are not in his area, causing jurisdiction issues. With Taylor and Jim in danger following their interfering, Victor needs to uncover the mastermind. Set in New Mexico this fun cozy mystery had me gripped throughout, and the intriguing chile storyline flowed well, whilst the plot twists kept me guessing as to the outcome of the mystery. Both the characters and setting were brought to life by the descriptive narrative and I felt immersed in the story.

Walk Off is an adorable second chance romance between Celia and Kyle. Celia broke Kyle’s heart 8 years ago to protect his future by telling him hurtful lies. They run into each other at a wedding, neither of them expecting it. Celia decides to come clean about the lies she told and uncovered one LARGE secret. They spent the last 8 years trying to get over one another but they couldn’t do it. Back in each other’s orbit, the steam and passion com back like it was yesterday. Kyle should hate Celia but even after all this time his love for her still out weighs everything else. Overall this was a good story, the characters at points were a tad annoying, but overall wasn’t that bad. The big secret was hard for me to believe that someone would forgive so easily for, but that is a me thing, not a everyone thing.

Caught in the middle Sky tries hard not to be in the way but Damon wants her badly…

Isla Vaughn did it again to keep me coming back for more. I recommend her books to anyone.

This is book 3 in the Tally & The Angel series. I do highly recommend reading these books from book one so that you get the full story of Tally and how she comes to have an angel called Jophiel living in a necklace around her neck. This is a great read for children as the story weaves a magical adventure as Tally and her father explore the world.
In this installment we see them visiting Japan as that’s where Tally’s fathers work takes them. As Tally gets to explore the area and make new friends she also comes across a ancient curse.
What follows is a story of magical beings, Paranormal happenings, friendships. It also has some history and Japanese culture which makes the story really come alive for me. This story is full of secrets and discoveries and Jophiel and Tally with the help of her 2 new friends try to solve this ancient curse.
I have loved watching Tally’s growth in these books. I can feel her maturity grow from the first book to know and its beautiful how she comes to rely on Jophiel’s presence to keep her safe and being the curious child that she is.

Hudson is a great helper, until one day he was not. He had forgotten somebody, can you guess who? Reading this story will help other children find their self worth. This author and illustrator had worked well together. It shows in this story, and the pictures. Children could learn from this story. As could adults while reading to their children. Reading is always helpful and encourages children to love books and reading. I truly enjoyed reading this story to my grandbabies. They loved it too.

This is a GREAT take on the story of the big bad wolf and the three pigs. The pigs are great problem solvers and come up with a solution to the problem of the wolf trying to blow their houses down. It’s a good thing for the wolf – and so everyone wins in the end! Shows that if you think through the problem, there might be a better solution!

This book can be read as a stand alone- even though it is part 3 of a series. GG Collins does a great job with describing the setting – you can vividly picture New Mexico where it takes place. This is a great little mystery that made me laugh in quite a few places! I liked the main character and I liked her cats! I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy this book due to the cover – it didn’t intrigue me, but I’m glad I took the chance.

I thought the cover was adorable, and was pleasantly surprised I liked the story, because I rarely choose a book by its cover. One of the things I appreciated the most was the Santa Fe/New Mexico feel, I “travel” through books because I can’t afford actual, and GG Collins doesn’t disappoint with her description of the buildings, food, and overall culture of the Southwest.

I thought the book was a little predictable, but given the genre of cozy mystery, in my opinion, that is expected, and the dialogue and characters make it a worthwhile read. I look forward to reading the first two books in the series, although this one read very nicely as a stand alone novel.

A very cute take on The 3 Little Pigs, but in this story all the house stand against the wolf. The pigs aren’t scared, and they work together to come up with a solution to keep the wolf from trying to eat them, so they could all be happy. I like that each pig had a name, and had the knowledge to be successful in the building of each of their own houses.

Walk Off is the first book in the Ground Rule Series by Bree Kraemer. Gah!! I love Bree Kraemer’s stories so much!! She always manages to pack so much heart, soul, and emotion into her book-s and her characters are just sublime.
This second chance contemporary romance pulled me in right from the beginning and had me completely invested in the characters and their story. I couldn’t put it down and devoured it all in one sitting.
A wedding is the last place Kyle expected to see Celia. Even after eight years, everything comes rushing back. What happens when secrets are revealed?
With plenty of sizzle, secrets, lies, heartache, pain, unresolved emotions, drama, angst, chemistry, forgiveness, and hope- Kyle and Celia’s story had me burning the midnight oil so I wouldn’t go to sleep without knowing how things played out in the end.
