Key to Tirumfall (The Tirumfall Trilogy Book 3) by J Drew Brumbaugh – Review by Liz Vrchota

Key to Tirumfall (Tirumfall Trilogy #3)Key to Tirumfall by J. Drew Brumbaugh
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was anxious to see how this trilogy would come to a conclusion so as soon as I saw it was available I devoured it quickly. Key to Tirumfall is definitely one you will want to read after the first two books in the set or you will be crazy lost. The story builds and builds so the best is to read them that way. Normally I don’t love fantasy novels but this one has some mega inclusive characters that will suck you in and immerse you in the magical land they are traversing.

In Key to Tirumfall we find Isabella as she discovers what she has always believed about herself is and has always been a lie. She will embark on an adventure to find out the secrets and try to open the tower at Tirumfall. Will she find what she is looking for? Can they survive the magic that dwells within the tower? There is a lot going on and this book reads like an emotional roller coaster you won’t want to get off. I was pleased with how it concluded and look forward to seeing what we will get next from Brumbaugh.

This is my first book by author Lynn Stevens, it is a well written young adult romance. Cami, a teenager with big dreams for moving to the big city and making a name for herself, finds herself getting an opportunity to have a chance to make a name for herself when a big name comes to her hometown. However at the same time she is faced with some hard decisions. I think you will enjoy this book. I highly recommend this.

Being book 2 in a series, and my having not read book 1, I have to say I was not at all disappointed! I loved this book so much! Each book can be read as a standalone but I will be going back and reading the first, and looking for anything else this author writes. This was my very first Lynn Stevens book and I’m here for ALL of the rest of them. Wow.

Cami was such a sweet character and Dylan was perfection. I’m always all about character development and Lynn hit that out of the park with Just One Song. It’s got some light angst, some emotional moments, and has it’s sad spots but overall it’s an easy read and highly suggested!

When your dreams become reality, are they really what you expected?

Cami is hoping to graduate from High school and the escape to the big city to pursue her career in music but one day a music legend comes to perform and her life gets turn upside down when he asks her to be one of his backing singers.

Hank is a music legend and is coming to perform in a small town. Cami is excited to be part of this spectacular and is hoping to learn from the great rock legend but there’s one probably he is not a nice person. Cami is then drawn to his son Dylan who has taken her under his wing, the chemistry is in abundance but can his manic life add love into the mix, you will have to read to find out.

This is the first story I have read in this series and by this author, it works well as a stand alone but I would love to read the first book in this series to get the groundwork for the story and characters involved.

The story is one of first chances, what ifs, angst and inevitable characters who want to ruin everything. The story is well written and develops into a beautiful story which I could not put down, the two main characters compliment each other brilliantly and you are willing them to have a happily ever after story.

I recommend this book, it’s an easy read with a great storyline. I can’t wait to read the first installment and the next in the series.

This is the first book I have read from this author and she now has a new fan. I love a good rockstar romance but she exceeded all my expectations. This is the second book of the Just One series. I read this book as a stand alone but after reading this story I have to go back and read the first one as well. Once I started this book I could put it down until the end. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just One Song is the 2nd book in the Just One series by Lynn Stevens. Each book can be read as a standalone and contains one complete story. I had not read the first book in this series Just One Summer and did not feel that I was missing any important information. This is the first time that I have read any of this author’s work and I’m glad I chose to take a chance on a new author to me as I really enjoyed this book very much.
Hero of the book is Dylan Walker, son of famous singer Hank Walker and our heroine is Cami Harris who has been chosen as one of the back-up singers for his dad’s band for the summer.
I really enjoyed reading Cami and Dylan’s story. I loved watching their friendship grow and then them struggling with their growing feelings for each other. Both are great characters who are very believable and likeable, unlike Dylan’s father Hank who is a very nasty character. I always say that one of the things that makes a good author for me, is the ability to make me really hate the bad guy and believe me, I HATED Hank.
It’s also very much a coming of age story for Cami. Her dream is to become a singer but that would mean moving away and with things being so difficult at home, she’s very confused as to how she can live her dream but also give her family the support they need. She’s an amazing character just wants to do the right thing for everyone around her. I really enjoyed reading her story.

Lynn Stevens is from a series and wow now I must read the first book! Lynn has done a fantastic job drawing me into the pages and keeping me in the flow of her writing. She does a fabulous job with her character build-up and making the story easy to read. I was so into following Cami’s character throughout the pages that are filled with romance and emotions like many young adult books do. But not all are able to keep you engaged and wanting to read more. I look forward to reading the first book in the series as well as this one again 🙂

Just One Song was a really enjoyable read. I haven’t read anything by this author previously and I enjoyed her writing style. The pace and flow of the story was great and I really like the characters. They were relatable and I connected with them easily. I really liked Cami, she seemed like a genuinely nice person, she had a lovely relationship with her family and I really liked her together with Dylan, I definitely didn’t guess what he was holding back! They were so sweet together and I was definitely rooting them the whole way through.
Although this is the second book in the series it’s easily read as a standalone – I would definitely love to read the first book now and I look forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

Just One Song by Lynn Stevens was a great 5 star read.

Cami knows that the only way she can ever leave Branson is to try out as a backup singer for a legendary rocker and hope she gets noticed. I was just as nervous as Cami during her tryouts, and all I have to say is I didn’t like Hank from the start. He was not so nice to Cami.

Cami ends up landing the part due to Hank’s son Dylan being persistent. As the story moves forward Dylan and Cami start to connect. He is super sweet with her and her family. There is something that Dylan is keeping from Cami, what will happen if Cami learns the truth?

Overall I really enjoyed this read. I really liked Cami and her family was great. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. If you are looking for a great romance read this is the book for you. 5 stars!

Just One Song by Lynn Stevens is such a sweet romance. The dramatics, the story line and the characters were all perfect. Cami, is such a sweet girl, I don’t think there was one time throughout this story that I didn’t like her. Her relationship with her family is wonderful to read, and the way she loves her dad and is willing to give up her dreams and life to help her mom is so beautiful and sad. The relationship Cami had with her friends Miranda and Iris was just terrible. At first I was really loving the two best friends and then one misunderstanding and she loses the two people she needs the most when going through issues with her dad’s health and her rough ride singing backup for Hank. Her best friends were no good for her in my opinion, she deserves better. I really thought from reading the blurb that Dylan was going to be a super jerk but I liked his character a lot, and I really liked how he came to be in love with Cami. Their story is sweet even when she is treated like crap from Dylan’s father. The ending is one that you would see on a classic hallmark movie and left me satisfied. I definitely recommend this book.

Just One Song by Lynn Stevens is book two of the Just One series. This book can be read as a standalone. This book has everything – drama, secrets, angst and so many emotions. I couldn’t put it down.

Cami is determined to follow her dreams where ever that takes her. When she gets a job for the summer as a backup singer for a rock legend, she knows this is her foot in the door! This experience gives her more time in her hometown while being able to learn the ropes for her own career. She never expected to meet Dylan though. Cami and Dylan grow close while Dylan helps Cami learn about the music industry. Soon though, there’s a lot of pressure on their relationship and it feels like Dylan is holding something back. In the end, Cami has a choice to make, will she leave Branson or is home where she needs to be? Find out!

This was such a good book! You could really feel Cami struggle to know what the right decision was. The characters were great and I didn’t want their story to end!

I am a complete sucker for these opposite attract love stories which are enemies-to-lovers stories. The love story in the middle of the small success story as she navigates through the music industry. I love where the story leads between the two, Cami and Dylan, and what makes their story enduring. I love how the author finds a balance of a dance in a beautiful love song for these two.

I really enjoyed the story. This is a first time author for me and I’m glad I took the chance. The story is compelling and I was eager to see what would happen next. The characters make you fall for them completely. I was immersed in their lives and trying to figure out how this could end well for them all. Even though we get this story from one character’s perspective, I felt for each of the others as their stories unfolded….well except maybe Hank. Cami is the star of the story. She is a singer but what impressed me more are her songwriting skills. She introduces me to a lot of people but I think my favs (besides Dylan) are Crystal and Heath. They each add a lot to the story but don’t overtake it.

Overall this is a read that I couldn’t put down until it was done. It flows nicely and doesn’t get bogged down. I loved the characters and the story. I see that this is book two in the series. I am almost intrigued enough to go get book one and see what it’s about.

A wonderfully heartwarming YA romance and although book two in a series it can happily be read as a standalone story. Local girl Cami Harris is ready to leave her hometown of Branson behind and experience big city living. Cami’s dream is to become a musical superstar so when a huge opportunity arises for her to sing as a backup singer for Southern rock legend Hank Walker at her local theatre, Mountain View over the summer she jumps at the chance. Unfortunately it turns out that the rock god is also a jerk, but his son Dylan definitely is not a jerk and he offers to take Cami under his wing. Whilst teaching Cami about the music industry Dylan and Cami grow closer and although they can’t deny their mutual attraction Cami feels that Dylan is holding something back from her. During one summer Cami must learn and navigate the rock-n-roll lifestyle as well as falling in love, and dealing with family drama. Although at the start of the summer Cami was desperate to leave Branson behind her by the end she is wondering if home is actually where she needs to be.
I loved the storyline and it had enough drama and mystery, in regards to Dylan’s secret, in it to keep me hooked. However, it was the characters that kept me turning the pages as I had to find out what was going to happen to them. Cami and Dylan are both very likeable characters and also very relatable which made me feel invested in their story and in their potential relationship.

Just One Song is the second book in the Just One series by Lynn Stevens. This is such a sweet, young adult romance- with angst, secrets, drama, and emotion. As it is the first book that I have read by Lynn Stevens, I really wasn’t sure of what to expect going into the story. So I was intrigued by what I might find.
This is a story about following your dreams, making plans, and staying true to yourself. But woven amongst that is a lovely romance with a bit of drama and angst thrown in to keep things interesting.
Cami has plans of leaving her hometown behind as soon as she graduates and follow her dreams to the bright lights of the big city where she hopes to make her musical ambitions a reality. But things take an interesting turn when a music legend turns up in her town for a performance, and Cami is chosen as one of his backup singer. This is the opportunity she’s been looking for- and she’s determined to learn as much as she can from the experience, and then utilise that to help launch her own career. But what she wasn’t expecting was to meet Dylan, the rock legends son. The two form a close bond, but issues soon arise which puts pressure on their blossoming relationship. Things get quite complicated- leaving Cami with a choice to make.
So, will the bright lights of the big city lure her away? You will definitely have to read the story to find out!

Thank you, Lynn Stevens!

Just One Song (Just One… #2) by Lynn Stevens

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. It can be read as a stand alone, but it is a part of Just One Series. Stevens has really done an amazing job.

Cameron, Cam, is trying out for her biggest dream. When she’s told that she got it, but it wasn’t by the choice of a person leading the show. Things at home get tough and the show is cancelled. The quote I chose for Cam is: “You’re crazy. I mean, you’re this gorgeous rock god. You’re so far out of my league, it’s not funny. But I’m so glad you chose me.”

Dylan, a rock star’s son, comes to Brandon because he wants to spend time with his dad. He falls for someone, but things don’t last. When he gets a call saying that there’s a band who needs him he jumps at the chance. The quote I chose for Dylan is: “I love you, Cam. Let’s make beautiful music together.”

Highly recommended for romance lovers.

Cami and Dylan and such loveable characters. They each have their flaws and yet they both just seem to work together so well. You can feel the emotions between them and the connection that they share. The author has done a great job of making them relatable and engaging.
The overall story is enjoyable as well. It was a fairly easy book to read but one of those you could easily get lost in for a few hours. 5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Just One Song (Just One… Book 2) by Lynn Stevens. It is a story that once I started reading it, I was hooked. I loved reading about the characters of Cami and Dylan. Cami is a young woman who knows what she wants. She wants to sing and be the next musical sensation. She believes she will only gain from an experience in working with the amazing performer Hank Walker. She soon finds herself attracted to Hank’s son Dylan as he helps her with her dreams. Dylan is a young man that finds Cami very attractive. Something is holding him back. Read this story to find out what happens to Cami and Dylan. This is an emotional story that had my emotions going up and down like a rollercoaster. There are conflicted emotions, hurt feelings, and a relationship that is trying to be born. There are also additional characters introduced. They each have their part to play in the story and I enjoyed reading about their interactions with Dylan and Cami. The author does an amazing job of making both the storyline and the characters come alive on the pages. Don’t miss out on an entertaining story that you won’t want to stop reading until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.
