Amazing conclusion to the series, just what I needed. It has everything you could want in a book. I would say that you should read the other books in the series first so you get the full picture. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you will feel everything. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us. Pick it up today!

Raye – Review by Ashley Westerman
First of all I will say that my new fave author for all the emotional twists and turns has finally arrived! This entire series was a suit on the edge of my seat kind of experience and it has been so well worth it! I’m really impressed by the type of friendship Melody, Imani, and Lance have in this series. I mentioned on another review that I identify with the emotions and pains and strife of going through engineering college, but this friendship is something else. I’ve never been more interested in how to keep friends like this before and thought it may happen! But enough about me! I love how the story comes together. The author takes her time and ensures we recall the actions in book 1 and 2,and she just keeps the drama coming. I don’t want to give any spoilers but you will be surprised and full of joy at how great these friends become closer through the tough times. I hope we all learn this great lesson!

The author did an amazing job setting up the scene for college, engineering at that, and reminding me of my days at my Alma mater. My fave books are those that take me away from my current world, but give me a bit of nostalgia at the same time! Reading this book I identify with Melody so much with her relationship choices and even her view on them in the first place! Before I grew up to identify with the appropriate use of terminology, I was proud to call myself a hopeless romantic! What an oxymoron! I was hooked to this book as it was so easy for me to keep the pages turning, eager to find out more about my new book bestie! I know I’m an intellectual and an engineer in a male driven workforce, but there are way too many opportunities missed to let me be ultra feminine and UBER sensitive with my feelings and choices. I know exactly how Melody felt in this book. I’m really looking forward to continuing this series!

This book was a great but emotional conclusion to the series. The book picks up a year after the events of the previous book and we get to find out where life continues to take Imani, Melody, Lance and the rest of the crew. If you’ve read the previous books, you know that the characters have very eventful lives that include times of happiness and sadness, but no matter what they continue to persevere. This book for me hit close to home with some topics and I cried, but I also smiled and laughed with the characters as they continued to make their marks on me as a reader. I would recommend this book and the entire series for anyone who enjoys stories that are eventful, yet true to life.

This book was a definite page turner and I’m so glad I continued on after book 1! Sometimes a realistic drama is exactly what I need to take my mind off the cares of life! This book is full of intense nuggets including race issues, suicide, friendship struggles and the dreaded sexual mistakes we all seem to make and so so much more! I love the main characters and I’m looking forward to finding a bit more about their escapades in book 3. I was left in a bit of a confused state reading book 2, but that’s why there’s a Trilogy!

Book 3 was emotional, heartfelt, and truly unpredictable. Melody, Imani, and Lance have weathered the storm of the start of adulthood and grown so much from book 1 to 3. They have proven life hurts, love can be cruel , and things will go far from what you wanted… but friendship can and will stand strong with the right people. Drama, angst, jealousy, and survival play a few role. I loved each book more than the last and I would not change a single thing. Each character has a special role and they played it out until the end.

This is book 3 in this series and I definitely recommend reading this series in order.
Imani, Lance and Melody still navigating each life journey and they all have been through so much!! Imani (my favorite in this series) is strong, sassy and happy. She is now married to her love but when her world comes crashing she looks for Melody and Lance…..even though there has been some ups and downs along the way.
In conclusion this series has given love, life, friendship, secrets and just a roller coaster of true emotion that seems so real.

This book was very good and I would highly recommend reading this series in order. This book is raw and dealing with what happened in book 1….a bit heartbreaking for me and took me on a roller coaster of emotions.
There is a lot in this story with Melody, Imani and Lance as they are still navigating their friendship along with college life and the future. This story has Lance still being very protective over Melody and Imani…..Melody trying to move on after Kevin and Imani still focused as ever on her college degree. Secrets, love, angst, race and friendship that is tested all tied in this story.

This book was enjoyable and seeing the friendships between Melody, Imani and Lance while trying to gauge college life had me intrigued. Melody is all about trying to find that soulmate while navigating college and a chance encounter she meets Kevin. Lance is a bit of a ladies man and football player but also protective as well and Imani is so focused on obtaining her chemical engineering degree.
This story is more focused on Melody as she navigates her relationship with Kevin and how the bond between Lance and Imani, her two closes friends come into play. Nothing is what it seems sometimes with Kevin and Melody…..and warning signs!!!
This book was enjoyable and look forward to reading book 2.

This book had such great development!! It really sucks you in. The story of three college friends and how their relationships develop and change. There was a large focus on race and contained quite a few triggering topics such as suicide, domestic violence, and kidnapping.
Though I would recommend this book as a stand alone book, I wish I would have read the first book first. I think I would have been interested from the minute I picked it up instead of having to give it a few chapters.

True Colors is exactly how I needed this series to end. If you haven’t already read the other books in the series you definitely need to start there.
Melody, Lance, and Imani are faced with new challenges. In order to navigate those challenges, they must first sort out their friendships in an attempt to save and start relationships. When one of the friends is unexpectedly faced with the loss of their spouse the three friends must lean on each other. The loss not only challenges the core group of friends, it also affects their college friends, families, and work.
True Colors highlights how important relationships are in all stages of life; especially the ‘no-matter-what’ friends.

Amazing, through and through. I only feel as though the emotional roller coaster that this series put me through was a little draining, as I would get my hopes up and felt as thought the start to this novel covered me in goosebumps and set a certain outlook for the remainder of this read. This just goes to show how powerful and apt this author is, and her writing style hits home for me, and many others it would appear.
Overall, I cried happy and sad tears, wished for the strength of these characters to float off the pages into my own soul, and snuggled up through a rainy day to finish this novel in one weekend. I have far more respect for those that have to go through discrimination and feel as though I understand different viewpoints more clearly, thanks to these three novels, especially this finale. It really did the best at closing up unanswered questions, tying up lose ends, and making the reader weep with joy. I so very much look forward to reading more of her works of art, and hope that you enjoy it as much as I did. Well done!

This author is something else. I really enjoyed the first installment of this series, really connected with Imani, Melody, and Lance, and found the way that she weaves this installment to build on the amazing foundation, and make it even greater. This group of friends has been through hell and back, and seems like they’re still in for a wild ride throughout.
Not only the drama and happenings in their own personal lives, but also through the world’s issues and beliefs. I find the writing style to be addictive, and found the story to weave a path through my mind so that even when I wasn’t reading it, it still had me whirling with thoughts. I love this series, and cannot wait to continue on this path, as it finally seems like some folks are getting their happily ever after. Highly recommend!

This is the third book in this series. I highly suggest reading the previous two books before this one to help your enhancement of the series and the characters. I have enjoyed reading this series and look forward to seeing what is next for this author. Thai is a well written story about friendship and how the past can haunt you. I enjoyed being pulled into the story by the characters from the start. They brought the story to life on each page. They kept the story engaging and hard to put down. I found this book to be fast paced which made it easy to read. It kept me turning pages fast just to see what would happen with these three characters. I enjoyed what they brought to the story and their growth is great. This is a great read that I highly recommend.

True Colors by K. R. Raye is the final installment in The Colors Trilogy. I truly had so many moments of “oh my gosh” in this book that I lost count. I mean, I had JUST started the book and I was already sad! And then there was an attack that left me with my mouth open just staring at the book. So much happened in this book between all the lives lost and the new ones coming. All of the crazy twists that these friends have experienced. I am so happy they each got their happily ever after. This was a fantastic series and I’m sad it’s over.

The Colors of Love by K. R. Raye is book two in The Colors Trilogy. Wow this one was full of sooooo many surprises, secrets and crazy happenings! And just when I thought the book was almost over, I’m only 44% of the way done?! Hello what more can happen!? Melody’s rant toward Imani was perfection. I loved every word. Between all of the friends getting their own chapter it seemed, there was so much development. It sometimes became hard to keep up but because it all ties together it does come back around. I am so rooting for Lance. He is turning into a better guy although he does still have his moments. The love this trio of friends has for one another is so obvious and I am here for it.

The Colors of Friendship by K. R. Raye is book one in The Colors Trilogy. I took a chance on this book and overall I did enjoy it. Some of this was hard to read and not necessarily because of content. There seemed to be too many parts of the story. Too many different peoples voices to read about. I wasn’t sure whose story this was supposed to be or the trio as a whole. I did like that you seemed to get the full picture if what was happening but just felt like too many voices. I really liked Imani, she was the perfect best friend. Though their friendships seemed a little weird for only knowing one another a short time, I think back to my own freshman year of college and absolutely bonded with a “random” guy on the first day and we are still friends to this day. So the story felt realistic. And shoot I wasn’t expecting that ending! What a cliffhanger! I cannot wait to read book two!

I enjoyed reading this story. This is the second book in this series which I highly suggest reading as it is just as enjoyable as this one. This is a well written story where the author used details to make the story pop and come to life. I enjoyed how I was pulled into the story from the start. The characters are connectable and have great growth throughout the story. There is great chemistry between them which makes the story easy to read. This is a fast paced story that is hard to put down. An engaging story that you don’t want to miss. There is much going on in this story but the other did a great job of keeping the story flowing. This made such a great story to read. I highly recommend this book.

Im a huge fan of this author and this series and highly recommend reading the first two books if you haven’t already started them. They will give you a better understanding of what has been going on and you get to know the amazing characters. This is the conclusion to this journey and man what a emotional journey it has been. This was a story about love in the African American community. It shows the love of friends Lance, Melody, and Imani. This book touches on a lot of sensitive subjects such as domestic violence, suicide, promiscuity, interracial dating, and even crossing unspoken lines in relationships. I feel this is a good read for young adults, especially those who are still finding their way. The story telling lends itself to be read by any gender and a wide range of ages, but is best suited for more mature audiences. I didn’t read the first book but had no trouble following along with the storyline and I’m looking forward to reading the third installment of this series to see how the story further unfolds.

The author did it again. I have never been disappointed with one of her books. This book is definitely the one with the most twist and turns and surprises out of all of the books in this series. She draws you in from the beginning and never lets you down. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and be taken by surprise.

True Colors is the third and final instalment in the Colors Trilogy by K.R. Raye. As with the other two books in this series, this is a contemporary New Adult story with romance, emotion, challenges, friendship, drama, angst, and humour. As this is the conclusion to the series, I highly recommend reading the first two books before starting on this one- as knowing what happened previously will help you to better understand the characters, and their motivations- while also providing important backstory/storyline information (etc) that will definitely enhance you reading experience of this instalment (and the series as a whole). Imani, Melody, and Lance have been through quite a lot since the beginning of the series. Together they have faced some serious challenges as they navigated their way through life. Their friendship was tested, and cracks opened up. In this book they are working at rebuilding their bonds, but it’s not quite that simple. We follow all the highs and lows and what happens makes for a great read, and is a fitting conclusion to the series… Happy Reading!

This book had me in my feelings while reading. And I love it! I was taken on an emotional journey. So many ups and downs. I felt this book spoke to me personally. Such a great way to end the series. The author knew exactly what they were doing to keep you wanting more until the end.

In this final installment of the trilogy, we see the friend group tested more as they experience the joys and sorrows of life. Imani now must cope with her own tragedy when she loses the love of her life. Melody is trying to support Imani and her fiancé, who was good friends with Marco. She calls on Lance, who is re-entering the group after a period of separation. I love how the characters are strong and independent on their own, but able to also lean on each other when life throws difficult times their way. Everyone could use an Imani, Melody, and Lance in their lives!

The Colors of Love was the first book that I have read by this author. I love that she tells a story in a way that is believable to what happens in real life. Not all the parts of the story have happy endings. Mainly follows the different relationships of a trio of friends. The group experiences a tragedy in the first few pages. Melody is left especially damaged from this event. Her best friends Imani and Lance try to love her the best they can. Lance is a college football star who is known as the campus playboy who doesn’t have long-term relationships. Melody struggles with commitment after abuse. Imani is focused on being happy, but sometimes that means making choices that were not a part of her plans. This book has a mix of different situations that young adults can experience.

Raye – Review by Barbie England
I don’t even know where to begin. This author has kept me in emotional turmoil for the last month. This trio of friends have been through so much. Some of the pain was too real. I don’t think I have been this caught up in a book in a while.
This series finale picks up right where the second one ended. Imani is in crisis after Marco’s accident, Melody is barely holding everyone together, and Lance reappears. Trevor is the loyal friend/brother to Imani until his wife puts her foot down. Melody is finally in a positive, steady long term relationship. Lance is balancing life after football, his divorce from Heather, and his ever-changing relationship with Imani. Imani is adjusting to her new normal and trying to find a way to trust Lance again. Life never slows down for this trio of friends!
Melody gets married but finds out that married life isn’t everything she thought it would be. Imani and Lance, each battle ghosts of the past to make a better future. Melody is jealous of Trevor’s growing family as she experiences fertility issues. Lance attempts to find his way back to football through broadcasting and all the pitfalls that go with being on the road. Imani experiences loss after loss. Melody sinks into depression after a tragedy, Imani almost loses Trevor’s friendship because of a premonition, Lance finally has a relationship with his one true love.
Let me just say that I laughed so hard when Erycah, Imani, and Melody all wind up in labor at the same time. When that nurse kicked Erycah out of Imani’s room, oh the tee hees!! When Lance named his son, I nearly allowed the tears to leak out but held them back. When Melody got wheeled away, I almost stopped reading. I was not ready for this book to end. I was not ready for the series to end. To the author, thank you for such an amazing journey through the lives of these three friends.

Raye – Review by M Policicchio
This book was the PERFECT ending to a wonderful trilogy. True Colors completes The Colors Trilogy and I loved every minute. I’m sad that it’s time to let these characters go. I guess it’s time to go back to book 1! This author brings to you a trio of friends throughout this series who have literally been put through the ringer. Every bad thing you could imagine to happen does, but it’s evenly balanced because it’s the same with the good. Lance, Melody, and Imani are the friends I want in my life. Completely dedicated to one another, to protect and love each other. I loved all three equally, but I felt this reading book 1 and now that I’m finishing book 3, I can say that I’ve been partial to Imani. She’s so strong, yet so stubborn. I absolutely love everything about her. My heart breaks for her at the beginning of book 3, but she rises up and perseveres and I would expect nothing less. To embrace these books and, yes I mean books, you need to understand that there’s going to be some heavy and strong themes running throughout. That could be potential trigger warnings, I don’t want that to deter you though. These books are wonderful and this author has me looking for her next book. In conclusion, if you read books 1 & 2, what are you waiting for?!? If you haven’t please get all three and dive in deep into book 1. One you won’t want to put them down. Two you will fall in love with these three main characters and their supporting cast. Finally you will have found yourself a new author to love. That will test what you can handle, but give you some enlightening perspectives on viewing life.
