Book Review: The Sound of Silence Author: Dakota Willink FIVE STARS
Dakota Willink is a wonderful romantic suspense writer. This book is no exception. This book has a trigger warning in the beginning and I highly recommend that anyone with these triggers avoid this book. However anyone who is a suspense lover will devour this book like I did. I picked this up and started reading and just couldn’t put it down. The Sound of Silence is a gripping story about a woman who is lead to believe that the man she has fallen in love with is someone he truly isn’t. On her wedding night she meets a stranger and they chatted for a while. Then three years later, Well no spoilers but you will just have to read the book and find out how their paths cross again and what happens. KLH
Book Review: No Rest for the Wicked Author: Naomi Valkyrie FOUR STARS I am not usually a Paranormal reader but the story line in the description of this book really intrigued me. I picked it up and read it all in one evening. It kept me well entertained and involved. Meeting the different characters and how they all blended and melded into the story line. Yes there is a romance blossoming in this, however that was not the focus of the story. You will meet a couple demons, a few witches a fallen angel or 2. Some kind of water creature and a shape shifter just to name a few. Very good story and I would love to read more from Ms. Valkyrie. KLH

Bonds That Beckon (Daughters of Anubis #1) by Kelli Kimble
This is the first book I’ve read by Kimble. I will definitely be on the lookout for more.
Iris doesn’t fit in and isn’t comfortable in her new town. She doesn’t have any friends and isn’t making any. She meets Mr. Anu and he helps in more ways than one. The quote I chose for Iris is: “Mr. Anu has been nothing but kind to me. And it’s not as if we’ll be sitting around like regular houseguests. He has plenty of work to do around the farm and no hands except for me. Daddy and I can help outside, and Mother can make meals and clean and properly stock his pantry.”
Jacob is someone who can relate to Iris. He doesn’t fit in and when his sister tells him about Mr. Anu he doesn’t believe. Things make him see light once he meets Iris. The quote I chose for Jacob is: “I can’t tell you. But it’s gonna be great.”

This is a YA/College Romance. The main characters are older college students and there is lots of parties and sex in this book. While Jordan is a basketball player and a player on and off the courts, Tess is his total opposite. She is quiet and reserved. Can Jordan manage to put his playing days aside and become a one woman man? This is book one in a duet. I am looking forward to book 2.

Book Review: A Merry Texan Christmas (The Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge #3) Author: Nicole Flockton FOUR STARS Just as sweet and good as book 2. This book follows Maggie Watson as she decorates the town’s windows for Christmas. She is a wonderful scene creator and she is hoping to bring Christmas cheer to the entire town. However Trey Prentice is back in town and he has bought the book store. His Christmas display is right up there with something you might see in New York City. Back from playing professional baseball, Trey is looking to make a name for himself in his home town of Sweet Ridge and hopefully make it a home again. Can Trey and Maggie get along well enough to put into motion the plan the Mayor has? Read this and find out. Wonderful addition to the Prentice Brothers series.

Book Review: Wendigo Forest Author: C.A. King Four Stars Wendigo Forest is a YA Paranormal story by C.A. King and is everything you would want in a short story. It is full of fantasy and myths that are well written and fast paced. You will be brought along on the adventures that Clara experiences and discovers. Thank you Ms. King for well developed characters who become realistic the deeper you get in the book. My only complaint is that it would have been amazing if it had been longer so that we could have gotten even more in depth and close to the Fawns. KLH
Book Review: The Magic of Christmas Author: Christi Barth FIVE STARS Very cute Christmas story. Co-workers and rivals are sent on a job to create a campaign to save an amusement park. The winner of the campaign will become a new account manager. Who will make the best impression on the head of the company? Rowan or Jeremy? Will they finally make amends and become friends, or more? Will going to this Christmas land amusement park make them come to terms with the secrets and feeling they have been hiding concerning their jobs and their own personal lives? This book is really good. Quick read and will keep you engaged. KLH

She has been protected and coddled since she was a little girl and now, what happens now. Ace has been hired to increase the security and help protect the naive Malerie. Book Review: Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic and Daily Conjurings Author: Maria DeBlassie FOUR STARS A very different read for me. I am more of a story type person and this book was more of a self help type book. It is full of short quick reads to help you slow down and not overlook the small things in life. Maria DeBlassie is a new to me author and I did enjoy this as it is so totally different from my usual. There are so many different things to take away from this book. You can pick it up and just skip around to whatever suits your needs at the time or you can read it cover to cover. You don’t have to worry about missing anything as each short section is different. Book Review: I’ll See You Again (Reigning Hearts Book Four) Author: KG Fletcher Five Stars This emotional roller coaster will have you feeling the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Love and loss and all things in between. Love at first sight and Rock Star Romance combined with small town romance, it has it all. Reid and Nicky are adorable and their love is timeless. Book Review: Old and New ( A MacLellan Sisters Trilogy) Book 1 Author: Lucinda Race FIVE STARS A story of finding love when you aren’t even looking for it. After a wedding dress is passed down to her, can Jamie resist the temptation of trying it on? This story follows Jamie and her two sisters through a remarkable time in their lives. Single and very independent and career driven, Jamie has decided she will not marry and will not lose her independence. But does life hold something different for her? This book is really good. I totally enjoyed this first book in the series and I cannot wait to see what Ms. Race has in story for us in the second book of this trilogy. KLH

Book Review: Love Song Author: KG Fletcher FIVE STARS Talk about book hangover. The sequence of events in this Rock and Roll Romance Suspense will keep you turning the pages. What KG Fletcher does in this story is draw you in and make you a part of this story. You are now the new best friend of Casey and you are there watching and wishing you could just stop these events but alas. You are only on the outside looking in. Parts of this story were predictable but at the same time you are hoping that your gut is wrong. This story is fantastic and Sam is a SUPER man. He is wonderful in all the right ways and his love for Casey is eternal. Great story. Really emotional! KLH

Book Review: Falling for the Texan Author: Nicole Flockton Four Stars Sweet romance. This is the first book by Nicole Flockton that I have picked up and it will not be the last. A quick read, Ms. Flockton pulls you in and keeps you until the very end. Big city business woman is assigned a job in small town Texas and she is not too happy about it for a few different reasons. The last several chapters of this book when everything is coming to a quick end are definately my favorite moments. I really enjoyed the characters and the depth to them. Ms. Flockton really got you to understand who they were and what was on their minds. KLH

Book Review: Shooting Star Author : Xana Jordan FIVE STARS Xana Jordan draws you into the Rock Star/Manager relationship world. I think there could have been more drama in this book from the beginning to the middle, but the love story this book contains is wonderful. There are a few sexual encounters that leave you wanting even more. Over all a very good book. It does end with somewhat of a cliff hanger and you wonder what comes of Aria and Aiden as well as River and Levi. There are no hints of future books with these characters but HOPEFULLY Ms. Jordan doesn’t leave us wondering for too long. Ms. Jordan is a new to me author but you can believe I will be reading more. She pulls you into the small town setting and really gets you familiar with the people and makes you feel like you are in the story watching the whole thing unravel in front of your eyes. Matt and Erica really were cute with all of their awkwardness and flirting. Really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more. KLH
