My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This us a fantastic series from start to finish, with each and every book juat getting better and better. The first time I read a book by this author I honestly didn’t think she could live up to the hype I had seen. I am so pleased to say that not only was I wrong but her work completely blew me away. And this series is the perfect example of why. It is engaging, complex, intense and has some amazing characters. With each of these books I haven’t been able to put them down, needing to finish then all in one sitting. This author is now one of those that I will buy without even looking at the book description. I wokke urge everyone to try her work today!

As a fan of the show supernatural this book really appealed too me. I thought the concept was interesting and quickly became engrossed in what was happening. I thought the characters were all great. Each had their part to play and it felt like they all contributed to the overall story development.

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation #0.5)Night Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is officially my first 5 star book of the year and the moment I saw this authors name I was in no doubt that it was going be! As usually the author has completely nailed it when it comes to incredible writing, amazing characters and a simply unputdownable book. I was hooked from the moment I started reading, just captivated by the story. I was right to leave myself enough time to finish the book in one sitting because I could not tear myself away from what was happening.
If you haven’t yet discovered the author or this series then I would urge you to change that today. It is absolutely fantastic and this author is easily one of my favourites.

This book has so much more to it than infiest expected it would. I started this book expecting a enjoyable second chance romance but found that it was much more emotionally charged than I anticipated. I connected quickly and easily with the characters, becoming invested in their journey. When I read the blurb I expected the story to go a certain way but the author managed to keep it interesting. The characters have a strong chemistry and really draw you in to what is going on. This is a great book and I really enjoyed each and every page.

What a great book to start 2023 with. This was entertaining from the start but had much more depth to it than I was expecting. And I think that enemy came down to the characters. Their stories had detail and an emotional connection that to don’t always get from a book like this.
The author has done a great job at writing this book. It is engaging, fun, emotional and such an enjoyable book. I can’t wait to read more of this authors books and more books like this in the year to come.

Ladybugs for Loretta (Loretta's Insects)Ladybugs for Loretta by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story is so fitting for my life at the moment. My daughter has just discovered bugs and is in the naturally curious phase and this book really seemed to hit on that. We both loved learning new things about ladybugs and it really sparked my daughters imagination. Loretta was just the perfect character for this story and the author really brought her to life.
This author just seems to get better with every book we read and she is really solidifying herself as a family favourite. This is definitely going to be a book that is read multiple times and I can’t want to see what we pick up next.

What a great follow up to Book one this is. I thought the author did a great job of bringing us back into the life of this character and I found her just as interesting to read about this time. The book was quite fast paced but knew exactly How to hold my attention. Everything was well thought out and I really enjoyed watching the connection between Elinor and the Duke grow. As the second book in the series it gives my high expectations for what is still to come.

This book was an instant hit with both of my kids even though they are 3 years apart. The rhymes and the story fully engaged my daughter. She was listening as I read and quickly picked out her favourites.
My son loves the pictures. He identified the pirates straight away and kept trying to turn the pages to look at more. For me this was a genuinely fun book to read. I didn’t mind reading this multiple times because the kids enjoyed it so much. I am pleased to see if it’s a series.

This author has such a knack for creating exciting and detailed stories. As with the first book I was pulled straight into this one. It was such a fast paced story ans I really enjoyed the characters that were within the pages. The story line was well thought and it really felt like it took me on a journey.
This is only the second book in the series and it is truly a great addition. I am really looking forward to where it will go next.

This is a lovely second chance romance that has some really festive cheer to it. This book, for me, was all about the characters. They were so easy to connect either, really engaging and heartwarming. You could tell right from their first interaction that their connection was still their.
This author is still a relatively new author to me but if this is the standard of her books then I am excited to read more!!

This is a brilliant historical romance all about second chances at love. I was drawn to the character Bella straight away and thought she was one of those characters that carries the book. I loved watching her develop as the story progressed and seeing her connection to Thomas.
The author really connects the story to the reader. The book has a bit of everything and it matches the strength of the characters. This was an easy book to read because I enjoyed it so much. I am looking forward to seeing what else is to come from this series.

This was a short and engaging story designed to make children think about the world around them. Although the themes of the story were probably slightly beyond my little ones this book certainly got my eldest interest in libraries. And while she may not have understood everything she loved looking through the images.
This is only the second book by this author that we have read but it was just as enjoyable as the first book. It is one we could all sit down and read together and I am looking forward to us all being able to discover more of her work in the future.

Well I have this say this is yet another hit by an author that is very much a family favourite in our household. Although this one probably wasn’t one of the biggest hits from the author I still found myself reading it multiple times over numerous days.
This was a fun and cute story and, as usual, the characters were just great to get to know. This author really does know how to engage her readers. Our whole family is already excited to get outer hands on the next book of hers.

The author has managed to pack so much into this one book and I enjoyed every moment of it. Every element of this book is my favourite kind of romance story and the mix of everything, for me, just made it even better. I found the characters to b well thought out. they had such different lifestyles and yet has instant chemistry and just seemed to click.
Although the author seems to have thrown loads at this book it is all managed so well. Everything ties in and adds to the story and I found it all really enjoyable. This is a great book and I am looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Taming Beckett (The Playmakers Series Hockey Romances Book 1) by G.K. Brady – Review by Kerry Baker

Taming Beckett (The Playmakers, #1)Taming Beckett by G.K. Brady
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is an enjoyable, slow build romance that focuses on the journey of the characters. I was a little hesitant when starting this book as I knew that Paige was already married and I tend to find cheating storylines unnecessary. I didn’t need to worry though as the author didn’t take that route and I found myself engaging with the book and the characters.
I really do enjoy a sports romance and this one was no different. This book is all about the characters and the situations they find themselves in. It was great to watch their development over time and to see which way their journey took them. The book was fairly slowed paced but worked well for the story the author was trying to create. This is a thoroughly enjoyable book and I am looking forward to reading the next in the series.

This is a fantastic and detailed story that draws you in and makes you feel like you are right there with the characters. The author has created imagery so strong that you can vividly imagine what is happening. As the final book in the trilogy this book really ends on a high. This is easily my favourite book out of all of them and I didn’t want it to end.
I loved the Greek mythology element to this. It made it so much easier to engage with the book as there was a lot of information that I was already aware of. I really enjoyed going on Evan’s journey with him. He was easy to relate to, despite being a 12-year old boy. This is a fantastic series that I have loved from start to finish.

I found myself constantly changing my mind about everything in this book. The author weaves such a tale and the characters add so much more to it. This book is a brilliant continuation from the first book in the series. It really hits the ground running, picking up two years after the events I’m book one. I work highly recommend reading these in order so you can get the full amount of detail.
As with the first, this book is well written and indepth. So much happens across the span of the book and it was just as easy to become invested in these characters as it was before. I really enjoyed seeing the direction the author took the book in and I can’t wait to see where it concludes.

This is a quick and fun small town romance that I found to be entertaining from Page 1. I lived the characters in this book. They were charming and fiesty and just great to read about. The main characters had a great chemistry. They seemed to be so different from each other but worked really well.
As the first book I have read by this order I thought this was a great introduction. It was short an easy to read but gave the perfect insight into her writing style. And overall great book.

I decided to read this book based on the title, expecting it to be some mystery to unravel. This book was nothing at all like I expected it would be but it is so much better. I was captivated by the story and the way it unfolded. The author really created something that is interesting and attention
grabbing. I really enjoyed watching how things developed.

This is such a sweet and fun story with an adorable character right at its core. I read this book with my daughter and I could see how much she engaged with the main character. Her inquisitive nature and how much she loved to explore really appealed to my daughter and her own nature.
I think I really connected with this character too as she is so close in age to my daughter. I found myself comparing them as we read through the book – which we did more that once! The whole story was fun and entertaining. This was a great read and I am already looking forward to when we read it again.

I enjoyed this first book in this series and I was glad to see this book met my expectations. I enjoyed the characters in this book. It was nice to see their development and watch them reconnect after so many years.
The book itself was a little well written and exactly in the style I have come to expect from this author. It was a steady pace, a little slow at times, but with an engaging story overall. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

This book is a brilliant continuation of the story and a great way to conclude the series. I read the books a little out of order, reading this one first before going back to read the others. I would recommend reading them in order as I think you will get more enjoyment out of reading them however, I still thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I loved the characters in this story and how it was told from more than one perspective. I think that added so much to the book and created a better story. I thought the storyline was really interesting. It was easy to engage with, even if you started with this book, and exciting from start to finish. I really enjoyed reading this story and look forward to more of this authors work.
