Another sweet, wonderfully illustrated, well written Amaleigha story. This one stars the independent, creative, curious Amaleigha. She really enjoys being outdoors and investigating the changing seasons, and all the intricacies that nature, and the world have to offer but wants everyone else to be able to have the same opportunities to do so as well. Amaleigha gathers her family, and individuals throughout town and together they build a barefoot park. I really loved how the author includes directions on how to build your own barefoot park to really get the readers engaged and having fun. This is a wonderful children’s story.

This book is the perfect gift for a new parent. It includes wishes of happiness and love as a magic wand is passed from mother to mother in a stunning visual of colors and inclusivity.

This was such a sweet book about love and wishing the best for your child. The rhymes were well done and the pictures are beautiful and inclusive to women of a variety of cultures and religions.

This would definitely be a book that would be good in a child’s collection for a mother to read with them.

This book is beautiful & full of love! Amazing representation as well, which is great for my biracial children to see. One of the sweetest stories I’ve ever read, the flow is gentle, & the sentiment is deeply relatable. This has quickly joined our regular rotation & we are so happy to have discovered it!

Love the idea! I do wish it had been a bit more filled out, as it left my kids with some confusion. However, this is a fun book. Having a grandparent as a main character is lovely, & the relationship is sweet. Love the name choice of Caspian. A lot of imagination & creativity went into this original & unique little story!

My son ( he is 6) and I really enjoyed this book. It’s a great bedtime story. It made him feel special. I loved the artwork. Especially when each parent passed the magic wand to the next. I loved the diversity of the parents. I highly recommend this book.

This was a really cute book! It’s perfect for little babies and young children, and if you have just had a child be prepared for the emotions because this one will probably get you. I really enjoyed reading this one and automatically thought of my daughter, because I hold so many of the same wishes mentioned in this book in my heart for her and her future. I really liked this story and highly recommend it!

This is a beautiful story about a little girl who maybe a little different than other kids her age. She really thinks about the world around her. She is a nature lover, and an explorer. She is a dreamer with a big idea and works to make it happen, even at her age. She reminds me of my 5yo. He enjoyed this story and we can’t wait to read more in the series.

Amaleigha is a six year old who loves to help and be kind. She thinks of others and helps when and where she can. She is always having big ideas and some of those ideas turn into big plans! Her grandparents always say she will change the world with her ideas someday! Well, Amaleigha loves to read. She likes to visit her school library when ever she can. It’s a wonderful place to find new books. She loves all the different stories that she is able to read because she has them in their library. But she notices a problem with some of the selections and guess what? She gets an idea! Her community is made up of people who come from different countries and they don’t have much for them to read in their own languages. She couldn’t imagine not being able to read some of the wonderful stories that she’s been able to read, just because it wasn’t in her language. Well Amaleigha comes up with a plan! She takes her plan to some of her family and friends for help. Some of the community member even get involved! Read this super cute book to see how she solves this problem in her community. And how she is going to change the world one big idea at a time! I read this book with my seven year old and she loved it! We have read a couple of them from this author and she has liked every one so far. She was the perfect age for them, but I really think that younger kids would enjoy them as well, with a little help with the bigger words.

I really like this series of children books. I think this book is an inspiration for those kids who are always thinking and having big ideas. It offers them some validation and encouragement to move forward with their ideas if at all possible. I recommend this book to anyone who has children that are always thinking and coming up with ideas.

With the help of her family, friends, and even the community those plans are put into actions! They open something that will change their community for the better. Read the book to find out what her big idea was and how with help, she makes the world better one big idea at a time! This was such a cute story. I read it with my 7 year old, but younger kids would defiantly love this book too!

My heart melted and I shed tears when reading this book. I am so glad I read it alone before sharing it with my little ones because my momma heart exploded. This author took the hopes and dreams that parents share for their children and put them all into one beautiful display of love. The illustrations bring the story to life, as the magic wand is passed from parent to parent, making wishes for each child. It is a symbol of unity, reminding us that we are one world, and we all want nothing but the best for those we love so dearly.

I really thought that this was such a sweet book. I would recommend it for any new parent. I think that even though it is supposed to be geared towards a baby etc that it would suit even for a parent to an older child. I myself think that it would be a great gift for a mother to give her daughter as she is about to have her first child. The poems are very sentimental and sweet. I really was quite moved by this book. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful collection of wishes for our babies. It was truly heartwarming to read and gives you a warm fuzzy feeling. The illustrations were beautiful and really pulled the collection together. I loved how the magic wand was passed on from parent to parent and baby to baby throughout. I wish that I had this collection when my (now grown) sons were babies. This is a must for any parent, soon-to-be- parent, or even grandparent, aunt, or uncle to add to their library. I highly recommend!

Here is another great read and experimental story for your children. Her love for all things nature was a joy to read. Amaleighas way of bringing others out to explore, would encourage all children and adults to want to see it for themselves. I love this author’s children’s books. She writes with children and adults in mind. Her story is fast paced and as well as easy to follow. I recommend this book for all parents to read and explore with their children.

I really love the simplicity and sing-songy nature of this book. It’s a great book for parents to read to their kids at bedtime. It would make a fantastic baby shower gift. The illustrations were magical and I loved the imagery of the passing of the wand throughout the book. Great book that definitely gets you right in the feels with all of the things we wish for our children.

This was a short but cute read. The grownups around her always talk about how caring and thoughtful Amaleigha is. She can be seen making a card for someone or planning a surprise.

Amaleigha also loved to read and visit the school library. She notices that there are not a lot of books for people who speak a different language. So sets her plan into action so that students who speak a different language would have more books to choose from.

Reading this just shows you what can happen when word gets around. So many people wanted to help and raise money in order to purchase books.

Not long after that, the community opened the bilingual free library.

I loved this story and how the community came together to help out with this goal.

I hope to read more Amaleigha stories.

My son and I really enjoyed Amaleigha and the Big Idea. Before we even got to Page 2, he stopped me and said “there are so many words and I didn’t expect that. I visioned all the stuff without it being in the pictures.” Despite being 6 years old and not knowing the right words, he it not wrong. There are a lot of words for a children’s book- so this is more of a parent or teacher read story. Not so much a beginning reader, but it was a great story. The idea was a big idea for anyone, let alone a 5 year old. But it was a good idea and cute. I love the resources at the end, in case you and your child want to create their own version. The illustrations were bright and cute. We have another of her stories on our TBR list.

A sweet story to share with loved ones, especially young ones. This is a nice book to read to your children to enjoy quiet and quality time. A nice way to instill love and to show our children how special that they are. There are nice illustrations to go with the thoughtful words. Another cute story by Lois Wickstrom. My 5yo son and I love her books. There were a lot of unexpected surprises in here. You definitely get to use your imagination and take a quick little adventure with the main character Caspian. We both loved it.
