Just One More Egg is a beautiful children’s story and great for all ages as well. This author never disappoints. The story talks about the love of a mama warbler for an egg that was not her own and how even when the egg hatched and caused a bit more work for the mama she still loved and appreciated it just as much as her own eggs that eventually hatched.
As an educator this book has a lot hidden within it. I enjoyed that even though the mama warbler knew the egg/baby was not hers she still cared for it like her own and that she understood it was different but treated it the same. Children can benefit from reading this great example of how we can all be a bit different but in the end should be treated just the same no matter what the circumstances.
I would highly recommend this book to any educator or parent looking for a well written and illustrated story for their class or own child.

In this beautifully illustrated children’s story, we learn about treating others with love and kindness no matter how different from us they are. I love the science introduced and the reality of the story for children to learn.

Mama Warbler is a tiny bird sitting on a clutch of eggs, they are small and she loves them all, but one day a cuckoo pushes her out of her nest and lays an egg of its own, it is larger and Mama Warbler’s neighbour comments on how large the egg is, but Mama Warbler just sees it as one more egg.
When the cuckoo chick hatches, it is large, noisy and hungry all the time, again Mama Warblers neighbour again comments on this and again Mama Warbler just says it is one more chick, but will she be able to raise this large, hungry chick and love it like it is one of her own when her own eggs hatch? This is a story based on scientific fact with beautiful illustrations and a lesson we all can learn from, a wonderful short read.

What a sweet book. I love the story here, even though someone is different, they are still loved and are equal to everyone else. The mama warbler didn’t care that the cuckoo egg wasn’t hers, she was going to treat it as though it was. The art is beautiful as well.

Moby is a little girl who wants to excel in school but also has trouble in school. She sometimes gets made fun of and prefers to sit in the back of class to not draw attention to herself.
A day before her birthday, Moby’s Dad has to leave again because he is a Marine. She can’t open the gift until the next day. When she does open up, she sees a flute and she loves it.
Unfortunately, no matter how many times Moby blows into the flute, it does not make any sound. So she gives up.
A year later, on her next birthday, Moby is excited to receive a gift from her day. The special day passes and no presents from her dad arrives. This causes her to look for the flute.
Still doesn’t make a sound. She looks into the flute and notices a note from her dad in it. She tried again and this time, she can make sound with the flute.
Because of her attempting to try again, she was able to play the flute. She applies this to school work.
This was such a cute story. I loved learning about Moby and the important lesson here about putting in hard work and effort. It really is an important lesson for kids

Moby’s dad is a Marine and is deploying right before her birthday. He leaves her a present, a bamboo flute, to open after he’s gone. The flute won’t play and she is really disappointed but after a while she gives up and forgets about it. When she talks to her dad he encourages her to keep trying. She discovers the problem with the flute and this leads to her continuing to try in other areas, which is unusual for Moby because she has a habit of giving up on any kind of effort forward.
This is a cute book that opens up the opportunity to discuss many life lessons with your child or students. There are additional talking points and activities included in the back of the book. The illustrations are beautiful and are done by the author.

Super cute read! I could see using this in my classroom. I like the classic feel of the story particularly the illustrations. I could see this as a resource in a science unit about food chains. I really enjoy books by this author and find them useful and enjoyable.

This book was a refreshing story of how to live and grow through tough times in your life. Moby gets a gift from her dad and it’s a flute that she cannot play. She ends up distraught and finally discovers the problem later on in the story. This is a really nice story and nice illustrations for children to enjoy with their parents during reading time!

This author has done it again. She has created a book that not only my daughter enjoyed but one that I also enjoyed reading with her. The book was engaging and fun and based on one of my favourite fairytales. It tells such an important story but on a level that the intended audience will easily understand.
This author is quickly becoming a firm favourite in our household and I can’t wait to read more.

Moby’s father, a US Marine, leaves her a birthday gift before leaving for military deployment for a year. When Moby opens her gift and discovers it is a flute, she is a bit disappointed because it was not what she was hoping for. Moby is even more disappointed when she tries to play the flute and discovers that it is broken. She puts it to the side and instead tries to focus on school where she wants to make friends and get on honor roll.
However, no matter how hard Moby studies her grades are not good enough to get on honor roll. Feeling discouraged by how things do not seem to be working out for her, Moby picks up the flute and decides to give it another try. When Moby discovers the reason why the flute did not work for her before is because her father had left her a note in it, she begins to understand why her father gave her the flute as a gift. She decides to practice playing music on it and through her playing the flute she learns valuable lessons about hard work, patience, and perseverance.
This was a beautifully written book that teaches some valuable lessons about the importance of never giving up and believing in yourself. The illustrations were extraordinary and exquisitely done. A heartwarming read about self-confidence, courage, and how you should never give up on your dreams. A must read for all ages!

My 7-year-old son and I enjoyed this book. It taught him the same things I’ve always preached about hard work, determination, patience and my son loved how it all came together in the end to work out in Moby’s favor! He and my 2-year-old son also enjoyed the pictures. Parents, this book, is worth the read!

This books tells me everything happens for a reason. And blessings sometimes comes in disguises. The mama Warbler accepts the cuckoo like her own and faces backlash. Cuckoo ends up protecting the other babies from a cat that was trying to eat them. The mama Warbler takes it in stride of feeding her own and the cuckoo. Short sweet book. I loved it.

I loved this book! It’s a cute story I enjoyed sharing with my son. Mama Warbler taught us how far a mother’s love extends to those around her. We also learned how the cuckoo bird lays its eggs. I recommend this book for young children, parents, and educators.

This was such a cute and engaging story. The images of the illustrations were just as wonderful as the story went as well! I very much enjoyed how the story went, I think all Mamas feel the same, it does not matter where your child comes from, they are yours. I also found the lesson valuable not to judge another by appearance as sometimes the trust you do not have can prove you wrong. As with this story with the neighbor! I found the story cute and insightful. A book that is sure to be cherished and enjoyed!

Moby plays the flute was a very inspirational story – perfect for a kid who seems to be struggling with a task. Moby does not realize how important playing the flute is and the life lessons it will teach her. However, it takes her over a year to realize how important it is to stick with something and to keep trying, no matter what!

This was hands down one of the best children’s books I have read in a very long time. It includes facts within the storyline and makes the lesson of sharing/caring fun to read! Every mom will go out of her way for her own children, but what if someone just dumped a child with you? How would you feel? How would you react? This story shows how Mama Warbler handles this situation with grace and teaches her neighbor how to be grateful for every situation – even when it means doing twice the amount of work.

Mama Warbler is carefully protecting her egg when a cuckoo decides to lay an egg in her nest. Deciding to care for the egg, she is met with questions about her reasoning only to be praised when something unexpected happens.
Really well done for this book. The story talks about different types of birds as well as the elements the birds have to go to to protect their young.

When a cuckoo lays an egg in a warbler’s nest, Mama Warbler isn’t sure what to do! Her friend suggests she get rid of the egg, but she is determined to take care of it! Mama Warbler takes care of the baby cuckoo, treating it like she would her own. One day, when Mama Warbler is in danger, the baby cuckoo repays her kindness.
This story was beautifully written with scientific details, while still being fun and relatable. Kids are able to learn a valuable lesson on how to treat others with kindness and accept everyone, even if they are different. My kids loved the colorful illustrations in this story! The pictures brought the story to life and connected everything together! I can not wait to read more by this author.

This book was fun to read with my girls! It was a great read but filled with lessons also. Patience, hard work, dedication, and remembering things will always get better. I have grown to love the bond a good book brings by reading it to my children. This one has a great storyline and illustrations.

Moby Plays the Flute is a cute kids book, with a big message. At first, I thought the book was leading toward Moby having a learning disability, or perhaps ADHD. As she was struggling, I wanted to reach out and give her a hug- her mom is not mentioned, and her dad is a deployed Marine. It saddened me that she was struggling for a full year before everything clicking and her turn around. However, my 6 year old didn’t catch on to any of that- he was just happy she learned how to play the flute and found her “hidden” gift. The artwork is wonderful, very vibrant colors and how expressive Moby is. Her facial expression and posture changes as the story progresses, and it lets us know how she is feeling. Moby has quite the fashion sense, and I love how all the colors pop. The author very clearly spelled out the meaning of the book at the end, and the importance of self love and self confidence. I love the summary of the messages at the end, along with the interactive suggestions. This book would be great for an elementary school teacher to read in class, and build a lesson around.

Moby Plays the Flute by Eeha Bhatt. This is such a sweet book and the pictures are beautiful. Its the story of a little girl named Moby and her father is in the military. When he has to go away for a year he gifts her a flute for her birthday. When she tries to play the flute she realizes you can’t just play it automatically you have to learn. As she struggles and learns to play the instrument she learns that hard work and regular practice pays off. This is a great book to give as a gift for kids of all ages. My nephews that are 4 and 7 loved it!

This is such a heartwarming story! As a flute player myself, I can say that this book hit all the right notes with me! The main character develops perseverance throughout the tale. She learns an incredible lesson- that sometimes, a closer look is required. She also learns the value of hard work.
