Decisions and Possibilities (Notebook Mysteries, #2)Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So while Emma hungers for adventure she’s a smart girl and gets herself an education and now she combines her passions , she adds a few people to her team and each of them have a talent or gift of their own that they bring to the table and they make for a dynamic crime solving team and just keep in mind all is not as it seems ….

I think a lot of Emma’s success is due to the love and support of her team , family and friends and again I’m reminded of how tough things were back i. The day and our Emma is fearless and she has heart and courage in her side .

Again we’re spoiled with yummy recipes! Thank you 🌸

Emma works in the family bakery but she’s hungry for more and for adventure but as a girl back in the 1800’s her options and rights were very limited fortunately she manages to twist her fathers “ rubber arm” to join the delivery wagons and start her adventures ….

This was a read that attracted me for various reasons . Emma’s spirit reminds of my youngest daughter who is fearless and it feels like Mulan vs Nancy Drew going back time , that’s how I described it some of the girls who asked me about what I was reading

I must just say thank you for adding the most delectable and mouthwatering recipes🤗

I’m looking forward to some more fun and adventure ❣️📕

This cozy mystery will sure delight testers of all ages. I enjoy the recipes the author adds at the end of the book so the reader can also enjoy the goodies! The German Apple cake sounds so delicious and I plan on making it for my family!

Christmas is a busy time of year for Emma’s family’s business. All the baking orders and decorating for Christmas, there’s barely any free time. When a friend asks for help, Emma cannot refuse him, especially when it involves a haunted house. Strange noises, ghost sightings, and people disappearing all make for an entertaining read. I really enjoy this series and all the recipes from the story that are included. I highly recommend it!

I thought the next installment could not possibly be better than the other books in the series, as they were very fun, great reads and boy was I wrong! This Christmas these mystery story took the cake!! I believe that this books’ storyline of having her getting ready for the holiday and having crime happen, that she did not plan for, made this story that much more fun! Crime waits for no one and while this one was still a great mystery to read, having it be a Christmas theme made it all the more enjoyable to read! I loved reading these stories and I cannot wait to read more by this wonderful author as the writing style was superb!

Wow I cannot begin to even put into words how much I truly enjoyed reading these books. The way the author wrote these books, had me feeling as thought I was on the mystery with them! This was the first book in the series, and it is a great introduction to the series and what it is all about. Reading more and more mystery genres of books have been my go-to lately and this one WAS SO GREAT! If you are looking for a great series to read about mysteries in the past, then this is the series for you!!

Can you just imagine what a second-generation German bakery must smell like? Sixteen-year-old Emma works in her family’s bakery, and the way the desserts are described makes me long for a scratch-n-sniff right there on the page. They make German Chocolate Cake, German Butter Cake with Egg Liquor, Berliner Pfannkuchen, Snickerdoodles, and more. Honestly, I had to look up a few of the desserts named in the book to get a visual. Kimberly Mullins was even nice enough to put the recipes in the back of the book!

Look at me jumping to the food. Let me tell you about this brilliantly engaging story of Emma and her escapades. Emma is very observant, and smart. She writes in her little black notebooks of all the happenings of each day. She has someone following her every move, and that is when that mystery grabbed my attention. When she is not working in the bakery, she is helping with the deliveries, and this is where another mystery begins. Let me just say that this story is full of other stories. There are mysteries (yes, plural), a bit of romance, an eighty-year-old that teaches her to throw knives to protect herself, and family secrets that come to light.

You cannot go wrong with this book! Please excuse me while I go get the second book in this series.

This is such an inspiring series for young readers. Emma is a forward-thinking young woman. She enjoys learning about engineering from her father and especially loves detailing her observations in her black notebook. This leads to Emma actually recording observations of illegal activities and getting her in the middle of some very dangerous situations. Again, an inspiring story, I highly recommend it.

Notebook Mysteries ~ Haunted Christmas is the next installment in Notebook Mysteries. I’m a huge fan of not only this author but this series. I love me a wonderfully written Historical Cozy Mystery and this author tops my list. This is a standalone and you don’t have to have read the others to enjoy this one but id highly recommend reading them as they give you a idea pf what has been going on and you get to know the characters better. Emma is once again back and this time we are prepping for the Christmas Holiday . What will happen when Emma is asked to investigate a haunted mansion? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. This is a short story that once you start reading there’s no stopping until you finish. I look forward to reading many more books by this author.

A great quick read, with a happy ending.
I am not one for mysteries but reading Haunted Christmas by Kimberly Mullins makes me want to continue reading mysteries. This was a very quick read, but I loved every minute of it. Seeing the different relationships between each character was a great addition to the story.

I loved the strong female lead, who did not need any help. How she defended herself in every situation, especially towards the end.

Being a large romance person, I would have loved to see her and Jeremy’s relationship more, but hopefully that is shown in the other books of this series.

Another favorite part of this book, is how each person or situation is given background information. So, even if you missed other books of this series, you still get to know parts of information from those previous books.

I also would love to keep reading about Emma’s past. Her past is explained a little in this book, but does not go into great detail.

I cannot wait to try the recipes at the end of the book, especially since it is apple season where I live.

Thank you Kimberly Mullins for a great read, I cannot wait to read more!

I started this series with book two, but this one was every bit as good. Emma is working in the family bakery but finds herself wanting some adventure. When one of the cases she is looking into turns serious she must decide what will happen with her family. How will she be able to keep them safe? This book is easy to read. I myself had a little difficulty getting used to the style of writing, but the story flowed well and of course the characters were great.

Mini Christmas Mystery
The Notebook Mysteries series is brilliant and is even better with this bite-sized Christmas themed novella. This book brings Emma’s crew together to solve a crime based at a haunted house. Even though this is a quick read, it is written with depth and includes suspense, action and adventure. It can be read as a stand-alone but is so much better if read within the series. I have loved every book in this series – absolutely recommend!

I have read every book in this series and I just simply can’t stop. While this book is a little shorter than the others it is still a great fast paced story with plenty of suspense and mystery to keep you interested. While I love authors series, this one has become my personal favorite purely because it’s Christmas based. The characters are amazing, the plot was intriguing and full of suspense, but overall the writing style just really blew me away. So whether your looking for a good story or a good series make sure you pick up this one today.

Emma (Notebook Mysteries, #1)Emma by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Emma is a young woman is 1881 who lives in Chicago, she has always had an analytical and logical mind, but it goes into overdrive when tragedy strikes the family during a large fire in the centre of the city ten years before. As Emma struggled to cope with the loss and even though it was over a decade ago, she still remembers what happened that night.

Nowadays she is older and working in her families bakery, she enjoys the works, even though it is hard and has some early starts, but she also is also wants more adventure in her life and so she asks to go out on the delivery wagons with the boys. Her father reluctantly agrees and she goes out with two of the ones her family trusts the most, but as she goes on the rounds and notes down her observations in her faithful notebook, she starts to notice patterns emerging, the patterns show everything from robberies to murders and eventually, she acts on these inconsistencies and makes the business owners aware of what she has discovered and then leaves it up to them to do their own investigations.

However, she can’t leave certain ones alone, especially when she gets closer than her family would like and finds that all the individual observations lead to something which endangers not only herself, but her family as well. Will Emma be able to solve the case using her skills and smarts, or will danger come in and sweep the investigation and maybe even her life away? This is a mystery with a female detective who is reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes and not afraid to get her hands dirty to solve the cases she becomes involved with, it is a story which will captivate all audiences and keep you on the edge of your seat throughout.

I also hope you are ready for a baking frenzy when you are done reading because not only does it give you the urge to bake, it provides the recipes to do so! I immediately updated my shopping list once I finished the book.

Emma is back with another mystery to solve and it is coming up to Christmas time and Emma is busy with last minute deliveries for one job and putting more hours in at the family bakery to help out with the festive orders. The weather is turning and it is bitingly cold, especially when the snow starts to fall and this makes it a lot harder for Emma to go out on her bicycle.

One one of her office days, someone asks her for a favour, when they have reports that their relatives house is haunted and it is becoming increasingly difficult to convince people to stay there. Meanwhile, while making one delivery, Emma has a deadly encounter and Emma becomes embroiled in another more hazardous than ever before.

While all the action is happening, Emma and her family are trying to plan their own festivities, meals, treats as well as time for decorating the house, so this takes Emma’s mind of the things that she can’t control, but will they be able to solve these two mysteries before anyone else gets hurt? This is another thrilling chase through the streets of 1890’s Chicago by a female detective, as she unveils the clues and solves a mystery which Charles Dickens himself would be proud of.

Her mother was tragically lost in the 1871 fire in Chicago, where she ran the family bakery. Her family continued to run it after they rebuilt. But Emma wants to do more exciting things with her life. This book has great character development. It was also a fun read. I loved having recipes that I can make at home. Notebook Mysteries ~ Haunted Christmas by Kimberly Mullins. l have loved this series and this book was no different. Its the continuing story of Emma who is well known for her skill in solving crimes. Evan has asked Emma if she will help solve the death of his father. He knows there is more to the story than what he’s being told. Now the timeline in this story is 1880’s Christmas in Chicago and with this author’s writing I felt like I was there, freezing and celebrating. This story is full of young Emma and her friends as they go to Haunted Houses and try to solve the death of Evan’s dad. Its a young adult quick read about friendship, crime, solving cases and maybe even murder. I do recommend reading the 1st books to get to know all the characters. I feel it makes the story so much more enjoyable.

Being a fan of the Notebook Mysteries series, I was very excited to have a Christmas book included to read. I highly enjoyed it. You can’t go wrong with a holiday book including a mystery in my opinion. As with all the previous stories in this series, the author did an amazing job pulling you into the story and keeping you on the edge of your seat with all the twists and turns. I personally loved that this book was set in Chicago as that is one of my favorite US cities, and I could see the city in the 1800’s based on the awesome description of the city at that time. I would love to have another mystery set in this city at during the same time frame. Highly enjoyable and recommended.

A fun holiday historical cozy mystery, with a Christmas backdrop, and plenty of interesting developments, danger, drama, friendship, clue gathering, crime & investigation, action, adventure, suspense, and some ghostly goings-on.

This was a fun quick read continuing the mysteries that Emma enjoys solving. Who doesn’t love a Christmas haunted house and the looming who done it. This mystery focused primarily on the one mystery that Ethan, Emma’s coworker at the law firm, brought to her. Was his dad murdered by a ghost, did he really commit, or was there something more sinister. Although this was just a shirt book, it continued to show Emma’s growth as she encounters her own demons.
