Shield & Shade (Ascended Guardians Book 1) by Misty Hayes – Review by Krista Vaughan

This action-packed fantasy made it almost impossible to put down! Zoey starts out with a almost crippling fear of the dark and no memories of why. Her family is loud, boisterous and overprotective. They are also telling lies and withholding truths. When the truth of the world she lives in starts to come to the surface everything is terrifying and tragic. Zoey needs to be brave and to fight for her life and the lives of her family. Zoey’s character grows from a naive little girl to a brave little warrior. Sometimes the truth is scary, but the fight is worth it. A must read!

Turning Wheels (Satan’s Devils MC #1) by Manda Mellett – Review by Krista Vaughan

I really enjoy MC novels and this one DOES NOT disappoint! Sadie it’s a resilient and strong female lead and the boys of Satan’s Devils are hot, vicious and protective. Wraith is a sexy stack of muscle and Alpha vibes. His ability to see past Sadie’s injury and the disability it causes shows just how supportive and sweet these big, bad MC guys can be with the women they love. This story is non-stop action with rival gangs, her best friend’s ex with the contact or on her, untrustworthy guys in the inner circle and a hot love story. If you love MC romance novels, you HAVE to read this!

Moonlit Kiss (A Venice Romance) (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley – Review by Krista Vaughan

I wish I could give more stars! The more I read of Amy McKinley’s works the more I love them! Lives that ended in tragedy, souls lost in time searching for each other through the power of their love bond. Trying to blend the past and the present into a new romance that will end the suffering of these lost lovers. Of course we are also in Venice! The descriptions of the beauty and character of the towns, buildings and surrounding culture take you across the world just before you are plunged back in time. The romance between Gianna and Sergio is passionate, sexy and soul deep. Pick up this story! You will be really missing a fantastic read if you don’t!

Carnival of Shadows (Black Water Magic Book 2) by Leslie Scott – Review by Krista Vaughan

I love a good paranormal story with strong characters and strong bonds between characters. This book has a unique and interesting story of Teagan the new Swamp Witch and her challenges in getting used to new and unfamiliar powers while battling a carnival of demons looking to destroy her town and kill the people. Teagan has a scary ex, and a new love interest that is just as scary. I guess the powerful women go for the dangerous guys? This was really a great escape into a battle between saving the good from evil. Definitely recommend.

Dragons by Ty Drago – Review by Krista Vaughan

This was an interesting read. Dragons totally aren’t what you think they are. Some of the engineering and space lingo was a little over my head, but the rest of the story was really interesting. Different planets and space-folk, many different atmospheres and climates. Andy has to try to figure out who is telling lies and who is telling the truth; all while trying to stay alive. If you like stories in space this is a good one for you!

MORNIN THE SUPER BIRD – FINDS A WAY TO FIGHT EXTINCTION by JULES HEARTLY – Review by Krista Vaughan

Mornin the super bird is such a wonderful character! The messages in this book are so necessary in today’s world. Getting kids involved in caring for the environment and the planet to save plants and animals from extinction! The illustrations are beautiful and Mornin is the cutest little bird! Everyone should gift their children with this book! If kids and their parents took these lessons to heart so many species could be saved from extinction! The planet needs us all to step up to take care of it. Reducing, reusing, recycling. So many other things we can do! I love that there are resources at the end of the story for kids and parents to look into helping the planet. Thank you so much for this book!

Sarah is looking for a “friend with benefits” and James is looking for a hot distraction until he’s ready to settle down. These two light up the pages with their heat. It’s refreshing to read about people who represent different lifestyles and relationship types. There is not nearly enough representation in literature of alternative lifestyles. When feelings start to delve deeper and relationships need to be reexamined hearts can be broken. I’m very much looking forward to reading the next book!

Nightfall by TK Lawyer – Review by Krista Vaughan

This more modern take on a wolf-meets-mate story is really quite entertaining. Tamara finds a “stray dog” and decides to keep him. Vets visits, dog food, collars and sleeping arrangements. These are just the “pet” hurdles they come across. How does a Wolf move from the”pet-zone” into mate territory? Josh has his work cut out for him. Tamara has been hurt before and doesn’t believe in forever. I do love that the story is realistic enough to deal with the possibility of rejection. A hot Wolf shifter, a beautiful mate, and the “stray” that brings them together. A great read!

Jolie is the Red Velvet Queen and a single mom fighting for her and her sons’ survival. Cy is a spoiled, entitled billionaire who draws the short stick to go Undercover Boss in the family theme park. Cy is more of the artsy-fart of the family. I love how he and Jolie have such an electricity between them. This hidden-identity romance is a fun trip to the theme park where there is fun and frolicking going on behind the scenes. Definitely a fun read!

Walking through her memories after returning home to care for her dying mother, Andy has a chance to reflect on her life as a young half Fae/half human. Her happy memories with her fae kin are at a direct counterpoint to the abusive treatment from her mother. This introspective trip down memory lane helps Andy to remember that she IS fae, and that her current situation isn’t permanent. Even though her fae friends are almost all gone, SHE is still fae. She still has access to the magic and wonder of being an eclipse dancer.

Dane and Mila were almost inseparable until she decided she needed more. She left to be a big time model leaving Dane behind with a broken heart. Life in the Sindicato is hard and anything soft in Dane hardened after Mila left. She keeps coming back for a sleepover when she needs it, stringing Dane along. It almost makes me happy when Dane makes her work for his trust. The men of the Sindicato live hard, but they love hard, too.

This is a wonderful adventure following Luella as she tries to makes her way to Storey, where her Grandfather says they are from. Luella meets interesting characters as she “follows the birds” while fleeing from the people who took her grandfather. I love Luella’s character! She is quirky and fun. She tries so hard to be a grown-up and to do as her Grandfather told her. She’s only 11, afterall. This would be a wonderful book for youth who like a little magic in their reading.

I have never loved a series SO much… Even though it ripped my heart and emotions apart! Luciano is still in the hospital, but he’s alive! Lexi and Lucca’s love for their children and each other help them through his time there. Just when you think they will FINALLY see happiness it is torn away from them yet again! Lexi shows just how strong she can be while Lucca tumbles into the abyss. The story twists and turns until nothing is recognizable. Have they lost their light? Will they lose each other as they try to find their way through the darkness? I am both excited and terrified for the final part of this story! I love these characters so much that I hurt with them and hope for them. Please read this series! You will not regret it!

A great story about a group of supernatural kids that aren’t like the others. Each one has something that makes them “different”. The kids band together to help each other try to work through their issues with their abilities and to solve a mystery. Someone is stealing personal items and they took Vlad’s family ring! They need to get it back before his dad finds out! Lily has a new familiar show up and Amber has a pet that isn’t what it seems. With everything going on the group becomes good friends along the way. I think this book would be an excellent choice for middle school aged kids!

Lucca is trying to keep Lexi safe. He is doing everything in his power to do so. You can FEEL his love and his desperation to keep his love safe. Michael starts to taunt her, getting close and terrifying her. They return to Tuscany living closely with friends and family under security. The fear traps them mentally, the security traps them physically and they start to break. Lucca tries so very hard to be everywhere and everything Lexi needs. A baby! The love can only grow but the need to protect overwhelms. This continuation of Lucca and Lexi’s story is full of love, obsession, desperation, and sacrifice. There is nothing they won’t do to protect their love. Their light. I can’t wait for the next book!

Claudia is a beautiful, romantic leading lady who is looking for her leading man. She hopes to find him when she returns to Hawaii. Henry is a rugged, deep-feeling stuntman on her set that has NO idea that she’s a big deal. They meet by chance before finding out they work together. Sparks fly! The electricity between these two is almost visible! Such an important story of love and trust in Paradise.

I wanted something hot and sexy to read and did this ever fit the bill! Jules is a strong, confident modern woman. Adam is a rich, successful force of nature that loves a good time. Their first kiss was electrifying and set the vibe for their passion for each other. Adam swearing off relationships to avoid hurting other people should be a BIG red flag, but Jules can’t seem to help herself. Adam keeps coming back for more, too. Such a dynamic couple and an amazing read.

Jordan starts getting little “love notes” from an unknown “admirer” (read “stalker”) after an incident at her work. Creepy…as…heck! Then Grant starts getting texts? This is a hot love story with a creepy stalker and it ends on a cliff hanger! I am totally invested and can’t wait to read the next book!
