The Woman America Loves a Latte By Holly Tierney-Bedford
5 out of 5 Stars
I rarely give 5 star reviews and this one was worthy of all five stars. This suspenseful, comedy, romance novel checks all the boxes that you want in a book. Veloura, or Vee, has had a rough go at life. It seems that life is just determined to smack her around and when she is black and blue, it smacks her around some more.
When her fiancés terrible decision making has her looking for greener pastures, she lands (kind of haphazardly) into her dream job. The problem? She has no idea what she is doing. Tierney-Bedford is a master story writer and this book is no exception. The quirky characters, suspenseful plot and drama and comedy has me turning these pages as fast as my little fingers will flick. I highly recommend this book for readers of all genres!

Turning the Tide (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 5) by Phoebe Alexander
4 out of 5 stars
Phoebe Alexander is a fantastic author. She never ceases to amaze me. This fifth installment in the Eastern Shore Swingers series takes a different turn from the previous books.
*Caution to the tender hearted, while this book does not deal with physical abuse, it does discuss emotional and verbal abuse and I can understand how that may be a trigger for some people so if that is you, please read with caution.*
This book takes us on the journey on Luke. Luke has not been physically intimate with his wife in a long, long time and to make it worse..she is emotionally and verbally abusive. Luke has lost love. Barbara is little more than a master trying to control a servant.
Luke’s friend Cap convinces him to take a trip down to The Factory, an exclusive club he owns with his friends, to try to take his mind off of his problems and to see if he can “work out” some of his frustrations.
While there Luke meets Conne, who is the spark to his dying fire. But when Barbara, Luke’s sad excuse for a wife shows up and starts to cause trouble, things turn from Hot and Steamy to Drama and Suspense in a heartbeat.
I loved this book. The banter between Connie and Luke, the new dynamic of the relationships and the new topics and subjects that Ms. Alexander addressed with some very unconventional characters. I loved this book and series!

Do not try to reach these as standalones. Read these in series order. They are incredible.

Misfortune of Song (Druid’s Brooch #5) by Christy Nicholas
4 out of 5 Stars
The attention to detail in this book is astounding. This is the fifth book in the Druid’s Brooch Series. Each book can be read as a standalone but, as a reader, I highly recommend reading a book in series order to get the most out the series. Each book focuses on a new set of characters and their journey with the Brooch.
In this book we meet Maelan and his granddaughter Orlagh, in 12th Centruy Ireland. Maelan has found himself in a predicament. He is determined to protect his granddaughter, fulfill his obligation to his Chief and try to maintain and protect his family name.
When Orlagh goes off on her own, Maelan goes after her to save her from herself…but does she really need saving? Having to choose between his Clan and his last living family member, Maelan goes on the journey of a lifetime.

Between magic, Fae, and Maelan determined to go to the ends of the world to save his granddaughter, this book is nonstop action. I loved every last page of it and I have loved each book in the series. Highly Recommended!

This third book in the Liberty Lawrence series is just as fantastic as the first two. Libby is really a magnet for trouble. She can’t seem to keep her or her shoes out of trouble. This book can be read as a standalone, but as an avid reader, I am a huge advocate for reading a series in book order to get the most out of the series, as the author intended.
Libby is going places in the workforce. She was given the job of a lifetime when she lands a position in the fashion section of the Women’s Matter, a supplement to the Chronicle, but the new fancy job comes with a terrible boss…Valerie.
After discovering that her boss has made a terrible deal with an even more terrible person, Libby is determined to get to the bottom of the scam and find out who the real Fraud is…and yet somehow…it all leads back to her boss.
This mystery is lighthearted, hilarious and highly entertaining. You will laughing and flipping the pages as fast as you can and will be shocked at the final outcome! Highly recommended.

This dystopian fantasy novel is a fantastic debut novel to this series. This story was both vibrant and enigmatic. I was hooked from the first chapter. This is very reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet of the star crossed lover’s territory, without the tragic double suicide. Very forbidden love.
Neve and Micah are both intriguing characters that are very engaging and you will easily fall into their lives, their wants and their desires. Micah is so sweet to Neve and Neve supports Micah with all of her heart and soul. The emotion between these two is so strong you can feel it through the pages.
Ms Martin did an incredible job of creating a world full of vibrancy, emotion, and passion. I am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series.

Anytime that I have a chance to read something by Lindsay Marie Miller, I jump at it, Her writing style, charaters, and stories are alwas so well thought out. Highly structured and incredibly detailed. That being said, An Appointment is no different. I try not to hold some of my favorite authors on a pedestal because even (in my opinon) the greats can fall, or have an off book, but Lindsay Marie Miller has yet to have one.

Savannah and Preston are two characters whose fire you can feel from the pages. Savannah is quick-witted, independently motivated, and hard headed. She is recovering from heartache and divorce when Preston stolls into her life and boy, does he ever stoll.

Preston is a tall glass of water. LIke Savannah, he has sworn off new relationships, but he soon realizes that is a very loney road. When he meets Savannah, he feels a kinship in his soul that he simply cannot ignore.

This Contempary Romance will set fire to your kindle and light your heart with passion and pull at those tender heart stings. a 5 star read all around and a high recommendation from me!

Age of Saints: Druid’s Brooch Series: #7 by Christy Nicholas
4 out of 5 stars

This book has a unique twist on how it presents itself to its reader. This is the 7th book in the Druid’s series. This series is essentially the same story that is told from the points of view from multiple family members in different points in history.
These books are not in chronological order, therefore they can be read standalone, however, as a reader, I feel that it is always best to read a book/series in the order the author wrote them in.
This book, and really this whole series, is heavily laced in history and fokelore is beyond breathtaking and it adds a rich element to the story that builds creates deepth.

Conall and Lainn are the main characters of this story. They are brother and sister who are on the run from a terrible step-father. Conall has inherited the brooch. He is struggling to protect Lainn from their abuse step-father. This story is an emotional rollar coaster. I am an older sibling. i related to this story on a deeper lever for the need to protect a younder sibling. The paranormal, magic and intirgue in this story makes you want to keep turning the page over and over again.

Fantasy lovers will love this book and series. History lover will appreciate the details of this series and both will love how they combine into one beautiful series!

Dickslip by Gwyn McNamee
4 out of 5 stars
Let me first say that the only reason this book is not 5 out of 5 stars is that I really, really wanted this book to be a few chapters long, and that is just me being selfish. This a laugh out loud funny, very fast paced romance comedy. If you are looking for a quick read with a lot of quips, quirks, hot steamy action scenes and hilarity thrown in, this is the book for you. Rafe is an absolutely loveable Bone Doctor, and Andy, his boss is a super-hot, super confident, BOSS woman. When all of Rafe’s man business slides out during a charity basketball game, Andy rushes in to try to save him and his show on their network. It is nice to see the woman in the position of power in this book and the male as the employee. It was a refreshing role reversal and I adore relationship Ms. McNamee built for these two. A definite read and highly recommended.

Nipslip: (A Scandalous Slip Story #2) (The Slip Series) by Gwyn McNamee
5 out of 5 Stars
First, there is rarely a book that will have me busting out laughing. Second, this book is just as funny as the first so I highly recommend you read the first book so you can enjoy the hilarity along with this book. The name of the book suggests exactly that. Nip slippage. Riley, the poor thing, experiences boob/wardrobe malfunction while on the runway during New York Fashion Week of all places and now she is without a job. Tate, who is (lucky) witness to the event is drawn to help her. The funny turn of events the two have will have you rolling and bursting with laughter. I had tears leaking out of my eyes from laughing/crying. You will not regret this book and this series.

Beaver Blunder: (A Scandalous Slip Story #3) (The Slip Series)
5 out of 5 Stars
The hilarity continues in this third installment of the Slip Series. I have loved this authors quick whit, humor and her fabulous plot and episodes that she puts her characters into. Madaline and Owen are two of my favorite characters to date. I loved every minute of this story. It absolutely will make me think twice before leaving the house without underwear…..but If i find an Owen…it just might be worth it.

This author is masterful. The humor she places in her books is cut with the romance and sincerity with her characters. It isn’t too funny that you are not wanting to take the series seriously but at the same time, you are invested in the characters and you love them and grow with them and root for them. Highly recommended!

Luke: The McKades of Texas by Kimberly Lewis
4 out of 5 Stars
This book is sassy. I love friends to lovers books, but I love it even more when one is so deeply invested in the outcome of their forever.
Karlie Kyle loves Luke McKade, has for years. But all Luke sees is his mother’s best friend’s daughter. Determined to change how he sees her, Karlie returns to her hometown, to Luke family ranch to be specific, to do an internship after college. Luke is gob smacked at how just not so little Karlie is any more.
Convincing Luke to be her summer fling isn’t as hard as Karlie thought, but convincing him to be her forever….well that is going to take nothing less than a miracle.
This is a dual POV book. The flipping viewpoints allows us to see both perspectives of the story from both dynamics. Karlie is fierce and independent and knows exactly what she wants and what she will do to get it. Luke is a typical alpha, southern male who is struggling with changing his commitment phobia ways to obtain his happily ever after.
This is easily a 4 out of 5 stars!

This sweet “coming home” story is one for the aching heart. Connor is back home for the holidays. He is honoring his mother and the memories he had with her. Coming home is his way of coming to terms with her passing and his grieving process. Along the way, he re-acquaints himself with forgotten friends and even a possible new love interest. And of course, a new tabby cat…named Tom.
This book made me cry. Not many books will make me full on ugly cry, but this one truly pulled at my heart strings. This story will break your heart into pieces, just to put it back together again. I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone. You will love this.

Broken Sand Dollar (The Sand Dollar Series Book 3) by J D Boudreaux
4 out of 5 Stars

This book is an amazing addition to the sand dollar series. Do yourself a huge favor and read the first two books. You will get a lot of those books that will build into the anticipation for this book. Alex was a very beloved character of mine and I was so hopeful for his story to continue. You become invested in the lives of these characters and are genuinely concerned for their health and well-being. Having said that, Alex is a man who is fixing himself. His past relationships have not gone well. He feels that he needs to save everyone and as you can imagine that is emotionally and physically draining. After all of the mishaps with his relationships, he moves back to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. The place he calls home.
The dialogue in this story is witty and sharp. The characters are on point and the back and forth is both hilarious and quick witted. This book is such an emotional roller coaster that you are left breathless yet excited to see what is next. You will not guess the ending to this book and if you did, then you cheated. I loved every inch of this book. Highly recommended for all readers of genres as this is not the typical romance novel.

Rules of Engagement: A Single Dad Romance (Platonically Complicated Book 3) by Mika Jolie
4 out of 5 Stars

This book is a lot more than its synopsis. At first blush it seems that it is a basic, single dad, fights for custody of his young daughter from the evil, vindictive ex-wife, needs help to show that he is the better parental choice, and in steps the sister of his best friend to save the day.
I mean, yes, that is what this story is about. But there is so much more that just that.
First, this book is told from Lucas’ point of view, which a a bit of a refreshing turn in my oh so humble opinion. Lucas has loved and lost. Loss that only ends in a bitter divorce and an even bitter custody battle.

Kate is independent, loving and driven. When she learns that Lucas needs her help and it would benefit his daughter, she jumps at the chance to help. Only to fight to keep from falling under the spell of Lucas. Kate has also felt the sting of love gone sour, and she is not eager to jump back into the pool

There is tension between Lucas and Kate, some serious tension. This book is a deep, slow burn. Sexual tension practically crackles in the air with these two. Jolie is an amazing author and knows how to craft a hot and steamy story with some serious sassy and characters of incredible quality and depth. An amazing read for anyone!

Black Bullet (The Order of the Senary) by L.D. Rose
4 out of 5 Stars

This new paranormal, romance novel is a serious one click book. The character of Jonathan Kerr, I fell into instalust with. I mean, seriously what is not to love about a hot, sexy vampire. Jonathan was bitten and died. He woke as a monster. Jon is no ordinary vampire. A trained marine, a killer by profession and now by necessity, He is trying to come to terms with what he has become.

Lawan is an interesting character. She seems both cold and hot with her emotion. She is strong, and any book with a strong female character, I am going to love instantly. Lawan is hunted by her past, both figuratively and literally. She is the last of her kind. The last of the female hybrid. All of the rest were killed in the facility when she left.

She meets up with Jon and they two of them clash. And in a big way, as in she beats him to a bloody pulp.

This author is masterful. I am not sure how many words I could use to express the artistry of the world L.D Rose created. This book is a standalone, but I would highly recommend you read the other book as it gives you a great introduction into the world of the Senary. This book has all the emotions. Passion, Lust, Fear. This Paranormal Novel will convert even the hardest of book readers. You will want to give this one a read!

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3) by Alicia Street
4 out of 5 stars
I must say that this book starts with some series heart strings. This book can be read as a stand alone but I recommend picking up the previous 2 books as this one is just as good as the first two. Raina, or Rainy, as she likes to be called, spent most of her young adult life as the peacekeeper in what can be loosely called a dysfunctional household. When she grew up to become a family law attorney, she continued in that role, and is downright appalled to realize that she has pretty much let life slip her by.
Roman had a rough start in life. A tragic house fire took his family from him and left him orphaned, marred and in the foster system. When the group home setting didn’t work out so well, he took to the streets, only to be rescued, if only briefly, by the well-meaning Rainy. He fought his way out of his terrible position and is now a plastic surgeon, who helps heal the physical scars of others, all while the scars he suffers with, both physical and emotional, eat away at him.
These two characters are a fire waiting to ignite, and when they do, they are set ablaze. The dynamic between these two is unlike any that I have read before and the author has crafted a unique dual POV that had me hooked from the first page. You will not regret this story.

This second installment of the Caught Series is the perfect addition to this series. Tallie Peters is a very strong woman. I love books where the author has not only created a strong woman, but one that is believable and relatable. Tallie is trying to make her life better after the wreck her ex-husband had created for both her and her son. She takes a job as an assistant to a Nashville music manager that she believes is going to change the world for her and her son.
Enter Tom Black. Former Pro Bull Rider. Handsome as sin and on the prowl. Or at least, was on the prowl. His life has always been a revolving door of casual hook ups from one bed to another. That is, until he meets Tallie Peters and sees what kind of life he could have with her and her son.
When Tallie’s ex-husband comes rearing back into her life and threatens to take away her son. Tom will do anything he can to protect the new love and family he has found, but can he?
I don’t grant 5 stars very often, but this one absolutely earned the full 5 stars.

4 out of 5 Stars

This new aged adult romance novel is a fun, easy paced book about growing into yourself and moving past old expectations and learning from past mistakes.
Webb and Lily and two wonderfully diverse characters who are perfect;y opposite. Webb was a wild man. A man who lived large and partied harder. He has a fortune from busting his butt to get to the top and now the party scene just isn’t as appealing as it use to be.
Lily. Her sweet soul. She is just trying to make the best of what life has given her. It hasn’t always been easy for Lily. School was difficult because of a learning disability and she is just trying to establish herself in this cruel world.
This is where Webb meets Lily. Webb’s 5 year old daughter is thrust into his life and its sink or swim time for him. Luckily, Lily is a lifeboat.
The banter between these two is hilarious. The author crafted an amazing story. I loved reading this story from cover to cover and was left breathless when it ended. A absolutely beautiful story.

When additional murders occurs, Petrosky is convinced there is a serial killer on the loose and the Ash Park Police Department is missing the connection between all of them.

This book is a continuation of a series. This is not a stand alone, and as a reader, I strongly advocate to read books in series order. This book is a whirlwind of emotion. Kyle and Juniper have been on a long journey. A long, hard journey. There are times when these two are like oil and water. Never will the two mix. The seem to clash more oven than they get along. Juniper has lost her faith and trust in Kyle. She has given her heart to him and because of this she is falling to pieces.

Kyle is a lost, broken soul. He feels that Juniper will never see anything good in him again but is he willing to try to change her mind?

This story is of love, forgiveness and heartbreak. This book is an amazing finish to this series. I read this from start to finish with no stop. I loved every minute of it and it left be breathless.

This book starts off with a bang. I was white knuckling my kindle the entire time. Emilio is the definition of space pirate, however the way he says it, he is just a runner. A runner who has now been contracted with the one of the most ruthless, deadliest drug dealers in the known region. He plans to risk everything to get what he wants. The glory, the money, the prestige. What he did not plan on risking was Toni.
Toni is running from a very complicated situation. She has had a serious case of bad luck and the only way for her to get away from it is to hop the first ship she finds and get the heck out of dodge.
Toni and Emilio find themselves stranded on his ship in the middle of nowhere with no where to go. Emilio has a deadline to meet, or he will face the wrath of the drug lord who contacted him. This mystery, suspense novel has the perfect amount of romance thrown in to appease everyone of all genres.

This book has a little bit of everything. Mystery, romance, suspense and a dash of intrigue. Harlie and Clay are two very unique characters brought together by even more unique circumstances. Harlie is a strong, independent woman who is avoiding her past and she will do anything to keep the past from finding her, so much so that she has gone to the far corners of the USA to keep the past away.
Clay is a country music superstar and he has found himself in Harlie’s next of the woods searching for his father. His father is supposed to be dead, but rumors persist that he is alive, and a murderer.
Harlie and Clay start off like oil and water. They bash heads more often than cats and dogs, but as they grow to know each other, they begin to understand why the other is the way they are and what has lead them to be this way. The banter between the two of them is hilarious and frustrating at the same time.
Will Clay find his father? Will Harlie’s past find her? This book is a must read!

Jake is taking on the mob.  Black listers, money movers, whatever you want to call them, they are evil people and worse yet, they are someone responsible for the death of his first dog during his military tour of duty.  He is going to make sure that they are ended once and for all. With all of the military training, Jake is one very affective assassin. Mr. Nolan is a masterful storyteller and this book and series is one you will not regret picking up.

Nite Fire: Chain Reaction C.L Schneider – Review by Krystal Gregory

Chain Reaction (Nite Fire, Book 2)Chain Reaction by C.L. Schneider

Nite Fire: Chain Reaction C.L Schneider
4 out of 5 stars
This book is the second book in the Nite Fire series. I high recommend reading this series in book order as there is a lot in the first book that builds into the second. This paranormal thriller continues with the main character of Dahlia Nite. Dahlia is a strong, feisty woman and she is doing everything within her power, along with the help of her partner Alex Creed, to protect the human race against from all sorts of creatures that go bump in the night.
Soon Dahlia and Alex find themselves investigating mysterious deaths in Sentinel City and the path on which the investigation takes them is both heart stopping and white knuckling.
The relationship and banter between Dahlia and Alex is both endearing and hilarious. Several times I laughed because of the quick witted sarcasm and dry humor.

High recommended for paranormal genre lovers.

Nite Fire: Flash Point by C.L. Schneider

This book is a huge match for its namesake. Flashpoint. This book moves at a fast pace and keeps you engaged as a reader. I loved this book from cover to cover. This is a supernatural shifter book and this author knows how to weave a very interesting story, with a lot of detail, a well developed plot and a ton of mysterious turns. Our main character, Dalia has found herself in an unknown place, away from her homeworld, and among humans. She left under extreme circumstances and there is no option to go back.

Lovers of Mystery, Supernatural, Shifter stories will love this story! I highly recommend this book!

The Way You Are (Carolina Connections Book 5) by Sylvie Stewart – Review by Krystal Gregory

The Way You Are (The Carolina Connections, #5)The Way You Are by Sylvie Stewart

The Way You Are (Carolina Connections Book 5) by Sylvie Stewart
4 out of 5 stars

This book is about friends, love, baseball and the love of baseball, and I loved every minute of it. Poor, sweet Brett has found himself Mayor of Friendzone on more than one occasion. But when he meets the passionate and fiery Liv, he is willing to do anything to make a permanent move out of that territory and into boyfriend land. To bad that position is already filled by a baseball playing He-Man who could easily crush Brett.

Liv tells herself that she can have Brett as a friend. I mean really, women and men can be friends and nothing come of it. At least, that is what she keeps telling herself, until she develops a crush on Brett and is not sure what do about his persistent nature.

The quick and witty banter between these two was adorable. The situations the found themselves in was equally hilarious, and the dual POV was refreshing to be continuously placed in the frame of mind of each character. I highly recommend this book.

The Mother-in-Law by Judy Moore – Review by Krystal Gregory

The Mother-in-LawThe Mother-in-Law by Judy Moore

The Mother-in-Law by Judy Moore
4 out of 5 Stars

This book is the physical manifestation of the fear every girl has when she is searching for her potential life long partner. Evil Mother-In-Law.. Victoria feels that she has got it all. Handsome man, handsome house, handsome life, or so she thinks, until she meets her mother-in-law…who is straight up evil. I mean, there is Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th Evil and then there is this woman. This book is incredibly suspenseful. As the plot thickens and the details unravel, you will find yourself flipping, (or in my case tapping) the pages faster and faster to find out what happens. When secrets of Brad and his Mother start to unfurl, Victoria starts to understand that this isn’t at all what she signed up for when she said Till death do us part.

This author created a very suspenseful and detailed story. I was drawn in from the very first chapter. I loved every last minute of it. Highly recommended.

Awakening Of A Soul Keeper: Prequel To The Soul Keeper Series by Brienne Dubh
5 out of 5 stars

This fast high action, fast paced, paranormal, fantasy romance novel will change how you want to read about vampires in the future. This book is the prequel to the series so you learn a lot about the characters and you are prepared to dive into the Soul Keeper Series if you have not already read or have started that series.

This book, while shorter, does an amazing job of building foundations of each characters and histories of each. I, myself, have not read the Soul Keeper series, however, I am happy that I started with this book. Theodora, our main female character, is strong, willful and full of fire. Lizander is hard, impassive and not at all what you think he should be by the end of the book as he grows to be someone completely unexpected. Theodora is the keeper of a vampire’s soul. Lizander is that Vampire. The interaction between the two of them is both hilarious and tense, expected yet unexpected. I HIGHLY recommend this book for lovers of paranormal, romance, and scifi fantasy.
