Scott and Zelda meet in a very strange fashion and develop an interesting relationship. Zelda doesn’t remember who she is or why she’s a ghost and Scott helps her find out what happened to her. The story is something you would never believe! An amazing page turner about a ghost and her story. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!

Faithful in Love (Cliff Walk Cousins Book 1) by Cecily K. Wolfe – Review by Kylean Sprosty

Faithful in Love (Cliff Walk Cousins, #1)Faithful in Love by Cecily K. Wolfe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A sweet historic romance between wealthy Faith and from the city Nico. As the story begins it is clear that Faith and her cousin Thomas are very close and you might expect the budding romance to be between them as Thomas is adopted. But then Nico comes to help her uncle with a project and they both seem to be very interested in one another. As events take place it becomes clear that Faith must trust in hers to make it through each occurrence. By the end of the story, she has developed quite a lot from a very naïve and innocent young lady to one who is starting to fully understand the bad and ugly that is around her.

This was a great book! As the story unfolds it’s more clear of what might happen but you can’t be for sure. Patti and Cate are great friends and their sisterhood is something to be admired. Love how Mr. Silver’s character and Sammy develop throughout the story line. Good read!

Is there a third book?! Cliff hanger!!! I am so captivated by Arabella’s story, I need to know what happens next! The trip to Ireland is not what I expected to happen, it was so much better. The storyline touches your heart when the witches see the conditions of the field workers’ families, you really feel for them. But now Arabella’s life may be in danger and you become so connected you have to know what will happen! Very good series so far, I hope there is much more to come.

Arabella discovering her powers and accepting them so quickly but having to convince those around her that her powers are good. I loved the different writing style on this story vs. most other witch stories that focus more on how society treats them rather than their own community and the development of skills. Rowena is my favorite sister, accepting and protecting Arabella at all times. Elizabeth seems to have a back story deeper than what the book leads on. Very well written, can’t wait to read the second book!

Exiled South by Harriet Cannon – Review by Kylean Sprosty

Exiled SouthExiled South by Harriet Cannon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Such an amazing story of a southern woman facing a secret family past that took place during the Civil War! Loved the diary entries from Laurette and the letters from Robert, I honestly could have read a whole book of just those two. Laurette was such an amazing, strong, brave woman for surviving what she went through and sharing what she knew. I felt a strong connection to her from the moment she was introduced to the story. I wish there would have been more to Rosalie’s story. Great book, very highly recommend.

Apocalypse Thoughts (The Pox Series Book 5) by Kendra Griffin – Review by Kylean Sprosty

Apocalypse ThoughtsApocalypse Thoughts by Kendra Griffin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kella and her brother Huck are very interesting characters for a post apocalyptic world book. As characters who never really become those end of the world trained killers, it’s refreshing to read about people that would be like they are in every day life. Jumper it’s one to keep a lot of secrets and it’s shocking to see each new one revealed. Kella’s journaling in the trail log books would be something I would look for at each stop of I were in their world. A new take on an old genre, very good!

Tally and the Angel: Book One, India by Eleanor Dixon – Review by Kylean Sprosty

Tally and the Angel : Book One IndiaTally and the Angel : Book One India by Eleanor Dixon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A sweet story about a girl and her father taking out on adventure after her mother’s death. Tally meets an angel to look over her, given to her by her mother. As Tally and her father start their journey in India she learns that the world is much different from what she has known. A great view of how we tend to make assumptions about things that are different to us and how we can help make a change. Tally begins the book as a naïve and somewhat spoiled young girl and grows to become a kind-hearted and brave hero to a whole city.

Tally and the Angel Book Two, CanadaTally and the Angel Book Two, Canada by Eleanor Dixon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Not exactly the story I thought I was getting when reading the book synopsis, but it turned out to be a great book! The villagers and their story liking with the story of the angel was a great touch. Tally is very adventurous, saving Jak and going through everything to keep her and her father together. While reading you almost forget this story takes place in modern day, with the description of the village and how they all lived. Dog sledding through the North Yukon near old gold mines, fighting off wolves, and saving a village are great adventures for a 13-year-old travelling with her father around the world. Here’s hoping for book 3!

Grace is one of the best characters I’ve read in a while! I love her sarcasm and wit, she is strong minded and completely relatable. The author wrote amazingly to bring Grace, her story, and her world to life. A true page turner, I read the whole book in two nights. One of the best crime stories I’ve read in a while!

Talk about plot twist! Aria is a very interesting character with an interesting story. I really connected with the psychological aspects of this book, the human mind is a mysterious thing. I feel that the author was able to expose just how twisted and unpredictable our minds can work. Ivy was my favorite character, someone who knew what she wanted and was willing to do what it took to get it regardless of what others thought of her. Great story! Highly recommend!!

Limbo by Laura Koerber – Review by Kylean Sprosty

LimboLimbo by Laura Koerber
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Limbo was not what I expected when I read the summary of the book. I almost expected a story about Alyse just entering Limbo and having to discover why she was there. The real story was better! Alyse and her village had to learn together how to make the most of what happened to them. Although Alyse was the lead character, my favorite was TheNakedMan. He had to learn how to be accepted, but he did so with cows. I do wish the book went into more detail of each of the characters and their backstories. This was a good, quick read!

A Spell of Rowans by Byrd Nash – Review by Kylean Sprosty

A Spell of RowansA Spell of Rowans by Byrd Nash
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Rowan siblings must now face the closet of secrets left behind after their mother’s death. Being in a small town, everyone knows everything, yet secrets and blackmail take place. Vic is a character that had to grow on me, jumping in the middle of her story I felt like I was missing pieces of what happened. Byrd Nash couldn’t have told this story better. It grabs your attention, because you just have to know what happens next, and then you learn each character’s backstory. A story full of “real” magic and romance, your just can’t be bored. Very fast paced and a great read. Highly recommend!

Another page turner! Lauren is smack dab in the middle of another mystery.  I love how Merissa Racine makes the whole story so realistic: in how Lauren follows the clues and in how she builds her story.  I could read a dozen more Crawford Mysteries (and another dozen after that)! An amazing author who writes great characters! One of my absolute new favorites.

I’m so glad this second book was written. There was so much I wanted to know after reading Love’s Refrain, this continuance all I could have asked for. The breath holding section to find out if they would find each other again kept me bound to the pages! Great addition to the first half of the story of Kat and Phillip’s love. One of the best time travel books I’ve read.

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow, #1)Come Back Tomorrow by Amy Argent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A true love story of a couple who fight all odds to be together. Tori is brave to try and help Will through one of the worst parts of his life. She could have taken him on as a patient but decided to just befriend him instead. Although I waited for the story to take a turn for the worse, what happens is unexpected. Never fully knowing what is happening on Will’s side of the story, he steals your heart just the same. Love is always something worth fighting for.

Silent Gavel (A Crawford Mystery Book 1) by Merissa Racine – Review by Kylean Sprosty

Silent Gavel (Crawford Mystery #1)Silent Gavel by Merissa Racine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story jumps you right into the middle of all the action. Lauren is an immediate suspect in her boss’s death, and must find a way to prove her innocence. A very well written mystery-thriller, as there is no indication until the very end of this “who done it”. I usually am able to follow the lead through the story and have an idea of what to expect at the end, but not in the case of the Silent Gavel. A very good read and highly recommend!

Love's Refrain (The Stardust Duet, #1)Love’s Refrain by K.G. Fletcher

Kat Monroe is forced to choose between 1947 and present day. The love of her life, or an elderly fan she’s grown close to. She fits so well between both worlds, its heart breaking to follow her through her story. Her crazy story of time travel between then and now, who she will love, and where she will be. I loved the way the author draws you into Kat’s world, as well as Phillip’s. You feel everything they go through.

Logan and her group make quick work of their investigation into the death of the person found at New School. Although they are pretty sure one of their own didn’t do it, they must convince the real detectives of his innocence. When the true killer is revealed, you’d never believe who it is, or why they did it. A wicked twist at the very end keeps you on your toes. I great read that keeps you intrigued through the end. Highly recommend!!

Decisions and Possibilities (Notebook Mysteries #2)Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The storyline was a little hard to follow at first but once I got into it I couldn’t stop reading. The story has so much going on, Emma cracking case after case; it’s almost like reading an action novel. The story captivates you, and you almost forget that you’re reading. With a new case starting almost every few chapters you are kept wanting more until the end. Each case was solved by the end of the book so there were no cliffhangers. Very good read!
