Only This Tuesday: A Copper Mills Novella
By: Melissa Keir
5 out of 5 stars

The novella Only This Tuesday is a wonderful romance story. It has the amazing characters of Tuesday Benson and Blake Rodgers who I loved reading about. Tuesday is a patient, kind, and caring person. She has come to Copper Mills to escape her past. She operates the food truck Tuesday’s Tacos. She is also one that enjoys giving young people opportunities and that is why she offers a job to a local youth in town. She then finds herself in an unexpected situation. Blake is the mayor of Copper Mills. He loves the small town and does everything he can to make sure that it is a wonderful place to live. He also has ideas that keep the tourist trade growing. When he first meets Tuesday there is an instant attraction that forms. He finds himself thinking of her constantly. Tuesday guards her heart. She, however, can’t stop thinking about Blake. While she normally keeps her heart hidden there seems to be a small crack in the wall she has around it. Will this couple act on their feelings for one another and become more than friends? Will any relationship that they have survive bigotry, gossip, and an ex-girlfriend? Will they find happiness and an HEA? Read this story to find out. This is a wonderfully written book that once I started reading I didn’t want to put down. There are additional characters that you are introduced to who work and own businesses in the town. I enjoyed reading about their part in the story and also how they interact with Tuesday and Blake. This is a book would highly recommend reading.

The story Embattled Hearts (Military Romantic Suspense) (Lost and Found Book 1) by J.M. Madden is an amazing story that I loved reading. It had me hooked from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. It has mystery, suspense, and romance. These three things make it a book that kept me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. I loved reading about the characters of John Palmer and Shannon Murphy. John is a man that is adapting to his life after he returns home injured. He believes himself to be a broken man. He has found himself attracted to Shannon the new office manager at the Lost ‘N’ Found Investigative Services. As his attraction to her grows stronger will he overcome his self-doubts and start a relationship with her? Shannon is a woman who is beautiful, strong, and independent. With some of the strange occurrences that have been happening she finds herself looking to John for help. Shannon also feels an attraction towards John if only she can get past his grumpy exterior. John is in protection mode when it comes to Shannon and vows to not let anything happen to her. With the danger escalating will they find out who it is that is targeting Shannon? The story Little Heaven: A Novel by Nick Cutter is a horror/supernatural book. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final chapter. It is a book that had me on the edge of my seat and chills running up and down my spine. The story is one of what happens when Ellen Bellhaven hires three mercenaries to take her to Little Heaven. She wants to check on her nephew as she suspects that he has been taken there against his will. It is a compound where those who live there could be regarded as a religious cult. What happens when they get there will have you turning pages wondering what is going to happen next. What is the truth behind what is going on at Little Heaven? Why does the compound start to feel wrong to those who live there? Are there outside forces at work and if so, what do they want? How will it all end and who will survive? Read this story to find out. The main characters in this novel are not model citizens. Trust between them at times is lacking or non-existent. As the story progresses, I grew to understand and enjoy reading about them. There are also many additional characters that are interesting and intriguing. I enjoyed reading how they fit into the story and their interactions with the main characters. Danger is one thing that is a constant in Little Heaven and escape may not be possible as the routes out are cut off. The story has moments of suspense that had me telling myself to breathe. If you love the horror/supernatural genre this is a book you do not want to miss out on. Highly recommended.

People get up, go to work, school, wherever they are to be. Then the gunshots ring out and nothing is ever the same. This book tells the story of a group of survivors that find each other and band together. I enjoyed how the story told each person’s actions on the morning it all started and before they all met. This story does a wonderful job in making you feel the emotions of the characters and how hard some of the choices that they must make really are. The story The Killmores by Martha Sweeney is a thrilling mystery/espionage book. It is a story that hooks you in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until the final page. This is a sequel that is a page-turner. In order to fully understand all that goes on, it would be best to read the first book. This story had me constantly on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next and who was going to survive. This book has action and danger with each chapter that you read. Laurie and Aiden are larger than life characters. Laurie is a strong, stubborn woman with a sense of humor. She also is a bit paranoid that there are those watching and following her. Those fears become based in reality when a nightmare unfolds for this couple. Aiden is a man that is trying to help Laurie cope with the demons that haunt her. He is protective of her. He also is one that professes her love for her. As the nightmare that has become their life unfolds will Aiden be able to save Laurie? Will this couple get a happy ending, or will things end in tragedy? Read this book to find out. There are many characters that are brought forward from the first book and also new ones that are introduced. I loved the bantering that goes back and forth between Laurie and Aiden. I have to laugh at how contrary Laurie always is. I believe that she just loves to say the opposite of what Aiden does because she wants to. This story has characters that help this couple and are loyal and those that have their own agenda. Find out who wins in the end. This is a suspenseful story that is amazing to read. Highly recommended.

Once Upon a Romance (A Dream Come True Book 1)
By: Alex Bailey
5 out of 5 stars

The story Once Upon a Romance (A Dream Come True Book 1) by Alex Bailey is a book that I absolutely loved reading. The story caught my interest from the moment that I read that it involved a famous theme park. It hooked me in from the very beginning of the book and the “magic” of both the theme park and the holidays took over so I couldn’t put it down until I had read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Sophie and her niece Ariel. From the moment that Sophie learns of Ariel’s wish to honor her mother’s memory by going to the one place that her mother loved so much, she knew that she must make that wish come true. Even if it meant reliving past, sometimes painful, memories. She says she will find a way to get through it for Ariel. Ariel is a young girl who although has lost her mother she is loved and supported by family. I found Ariel to be someone who takes notice of details in life and seems to be able to understand things beyond her years. When they run into a kind, friendly, and charming stranger who offers his knowledge about the theme park Sophie feels relief. Could her attitude regarding the vacation to the theme park be changing? Sophie has a boyfriend who is reliable and stable. Her heart belongs to him, doesn’t it? What does the future hold for Sophie? Will she find herself guided by the magic all around her? Will that “magic” help the charming stranger win over Sophie’s heart? Read this book to find out. This is a heartwarming story that I found myself thinking about even after I had finished the book. I love the attention to detail that the author gives. I felt like I was right there with Sophie and Ariel seeing what they did. It is also a book that had my emotions going up and down all throughout. This is a wonderfully written story that I would highly recommend reading.

The story Getting the Goods by Elizabeth Perry is a new adult/romantic comedy book. This is a story that hooked me in from the first chapter and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. It is a book that had me with a smile on my face more times than not and almost falling off the couch laughing. Not only is the story hilarious it also has two main characters that I loved reading about. She has a plan: find a hot man, get a hotel room, and go from there. What she doesn’t plan on is getting caught as a thief and the situations that happen after. He is a man that doesn’t believe that he will ever be in a relationship. She is a strong, stubborn, and determined woman. While the two of them are attracted to each other when these two are together they annoy each other most of the time. This story includes the main characters bantering back and forth with each other and sarcasm can be found in many of these conversations. Will she finally get what she was seeking from him in the first place? What does the future hold for them? Read this book to find out. There are some steamy scenes in this story that will make the temperature in the room rise. This story also has additional characters that you are introduced to. The story Degrees of Control (A Prestian Series Book 3) by Via Mari is a contemporary romance book. It is a story that hooks you in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put down until I had read the final page. I have loved this series since reading the first book. One of the reasons is the amazing characters of Chase Prestian and Katarina Mellers. In this story, Katarina deals with her issues of trust and of information regarding actions that have been taken in which she doesn’t feel right about. After turning down Chase’s marriage proposal she soon finds herself having to pretend that she has accepted in order to draw out the man who has put her and others in danger. You can feel the conflict that Katarina has as she knows that she still loves Chase, however, doesn’t know how to reconcile that with her personal convictions of right and wrong. Chase is always looking out for Katarina and her safety. He is still fiercely protective of her. He is also not willing to give up on the feelings of love that he has for Katarina. How much danger are they really in? Read this story to find out. With each story that I read, I only grow to love Chase and Katarina more. They are a couple that I believe are meant for each other. Their steamy romance makes the temperature in the room rise. Don’t miss out on this next part of their story. Highly recommended book and series.

Caught in Make-Believe (The Caught Series Book 3)
By: Sharleen Scott
5 out of 5 stars

The story Caught in Make-Believe (The Caught Series Book 3) by Sharleen Scott is a romantic suspense book. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. It is a book with enough mystery and suspense that I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I loved reading about the characters of Jace Colton and Samantha Dylan. Samantha is the manager of the local bakery and a woman who has not been lucky in relationships. The way her last one ended has her contemplating not starting another. Then she meets Jace. Jace is an investigative journalist who five years ago was on the edge of a story that would be big if and when it broke. Tragedy and threats drove him to disappear. He is now back in Angel Beach, Oregon and has found himself attracted to Samantha. She knows that his stay is most likely temporary. He doesn’t want to put her in danger. Both Jace and Samantha’s attraction to each other leads them into a relationship. Their feelings for each other are strong and there is a passion between them. When odd events start happening is it because of Jace’s past and if so, how much danger is this couple in? What does the future hold for both Jace and Samantha? Will they get a chance at an HEA? Read this book to find out. I found myself growing to love both Jace and Samantha with each chapter that I read. They are a couple that is meant to be together and I was always rooting for them. As I grew up in a small town, I loved that this book was set in one. Most of the additional characters know each other, and the community seems to be tight knit. It gives you a warm feeling just like you have come home. I also enjoyed the bantering back and forth that goes on between Jace and Samantha. This is a wonderfully written story with some amazing characters. Highly recommended reading.

5 out of 5 stars

The story The First Backwards Christmas by Brooke Williams is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It is a holiday romance story. It grabbed my attention from the very beginning and I found myself not wanting to put the story down until I had finished the last page. The book does at times move quickly, however, I felt the spirit and joy of Christmas throughout. I loved reading about the characters of Jack Furst ad Joyce Nicholson. I liked that I the story had me feeling what the characters do when they are happy, sad, or worried. There are surprises and parts that will warm your heart. Can the city of South Pole, Alaska be saved from becoming a ghost town? Will Joyce have to leave South Pole because of her job and in the process leave Jack behind as well? What will happen when a town embraces an unusual idea in order to save itself? Read this book to find out. I found myself growing to love Jack and Joyce with every chapter that I read. That they have an attraction and strong feelings for one another is undeniable. When reading you can look forward to getting that warm feel-good feeling and it stayed with me even after I had finished the book. Highly recommended reading.

It is a story that has action, suspense, and mystery all rolled into a book that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. It is a page-turning novel. I loved reading about the characters of Thomas Brown and Helena Grayse. Thomas is a man that can only see the world in black and white. That is until he meets Helena. Helena is a woman who has suffered at the hands of others. She has strength and she is a survivor. Even so, if she is cornered or feels uncomfortable with a situation she feels the need to run. The story My Tragic Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel (My Life Series Book 2) by Necie Navone is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It hooked me in just like the first one and I found myself not wanting to put the book down until I had read the final page. It is the continuing story of the Princess of the Canzano Family. She is a strong girl who has had to grow up all too soon. Her life is controlled by her father, the Capo. What she wears, the friends that she has, and who she will marry. While there is much that is kept from her, she has her ways of finding out the information that she wants or needs to have. There are those in her life that she keeps at arm’s length and then those who she is close to. I enjoyed reading about those that are closest to her and the playful banter and interactions that go on between them. This story does include heartache. It also shows how well the Princess has taken to her training. She is someone who can take control of a situation and give orders that can save lives, take them, or both. The Princess also has her private moments where sometimes her emotions overwhelm her. This, the continuing story of the Princess of the Canzano family is one that has scenes of action and danger. She also has a secret that she keeps even from those she cares for the most. Her life has gone from bearable to tragic in a Family that she wants no part of. I have grown to love her character with each chapter and book that I read, and I can’t wait to read the next story. My emotions were going up and down the entire time that I read this book and I found myself empathizing with the Princess. I don’t believe that I could live in the same situation that she finds herself in. This is a series that I believe should be read in order to fully understand what is going on. Wonderfully written with amazing characters this is a book I would highly recommend reading.

It features a group of women who are just like family and would do anything for each other. I loved reading about the character of Greer. She is a woman who is deeply affected by the loss of a team member. She is intelligent, strong, and independent. She is one that looks for all solutions to problems or issues that arise. F*cking Frank (Smirk Series) By Jen Luerssen – Review by Laura Furuta

F*cking Frank (Smirk Series Book 1)F*cking Frank by Jen Luerssen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 out of 5 stars

This wonderful story by Jen Luerssen is a romantic comedy. It is a book that I enjoyed reading. It hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the last page. It had me with a smile on my face and in some cases laughing out loud. Some conversations I read had me falling off the couch laughing and holding my side. The innuendos come at a fast pace in this story. I enjoyed reading about Frank and Mikey. Frank is a musician. He is not shy about that he is grumpy and seems to always fall for the wrong woman. Then he meets Mikey. Mikey is a winemaker. She is smart, strong, and independent. These two have more in common than a lot of couples. It seems more like fate than coincidence that they find each other. These two are attracted to each other and there is a connection between them. Will they keep things between them casual or will emerging feelings lead to something more? What does the future hold for Frank and Mikey? Read this book to find out. I loved the bantering back and forth that goes on between Frank, Mikey, and the other characters that you are introduced to. There is playful bantering, flirting, and even dirty talking. Steamy scenes are included in this book that will have the temperature in the room rising. This is a wonderfully written story that has some amazing and interesting characters. Recommended reading.

The story Isabella’s Painting: A Notorious Art Heist Mystery (Karina Cardinal Mystery Book 1) by Ellen Butler is a book that I loved reading. It hooks you in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. It is a story that includes suspense and mystery. It had me turning pages in order to find out what was going to happen next in both the plot and to the characters. I loved reading about the character of Karina Cardinal. She is a lawyer who is independent and intelligent. Some would also call her a lobbyist on Capitol Hill, however, she would cringe at such a label. She runs into a mystery when at her boyfriend’s parent’s home for a holiday party. What happens next has Karina’s investigative skills and a bit of paranoia working overtime. Is the painting that she has seen one that was stolen so many years ago? Why does her boyfriend’s father have the stolen masterpiece? Now that she has started an investigation into the painting how much danger is she in? Read this book to find out. There are times when this story had me on the edge of my seat. Trying to put together the clues that Karina uncovers is like trying to put together a puzzle to find the truth. The other character that I enjoyed reading about in this story is Mike Finnegan. He is an old friend of Karina’s and works for the FBI. This is a wonderfully written story with some amazing characters. Highly recommended.

DANGEROUS GROUND: Tina and Chase’s Story (Under Ground Book 5)

The story DANGEROUS GROUND: Tina and Chase’s Story (Under Ground Book 5) by Alice Rachel is a book I truly enjoyed reading. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the last page. I just had to know how everything works out. The book has times when I was turning pages to find out what happens next in the storyline and to the characters. I loved reading about Chase and Tina. Chase is a man that is part of what is called the lower class and with that comes a lot of difficulties in his life. The biggest one is when the Sterilization Law goes into effect. He is concerned for himself, however, more so for his girlfriend Mariana. Chase is a character that I felt empathy for with the situations that he found himself in. The raw emotions that I felt when reading about him had me either angry or with tears in my eyes. He is someone what you would like to put your arms around and comfort. Tina starts out with one point of view on life and as the story progresses she begins to change and see things differently. The world that Chase and Tina live in is one where there is always prejudice and class stereotypes. I found myself angry at the cruel treatment that some received while others had life easy. Tina and Chase interact with other characters in the story and I enjoyed reading about them. The story does discuss and contain issues that may be triggers for some and the story would be recommended for a mature audience. I found this book to be wonderfully written that includes some amazing characters. Highly recommended.

By: A.M. Myers
5 out of 5 stars

The story It Ends Tonight (Bayou Devils MC Book 4) by A.M. Myers is a romantic suspense book. It is the next story in a series that I have loved since I read the first book. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and that I didn’t want to put down until I had finished the last page. I loved reading about the characters of Lucas Smith and Quinn Dawson. Lucas is in the Bayou Devils MC club. They are like family to him. Lucas also has a brother and sometimes his actions are harder to figure out than the others. Lucas is very caring almost to a fault. He believes that he can protect the bond he and his brother have. Quinn is a woman who is beautiful, strong, and independent. Little does she realize how deep her feelings for him will run. A truck brings these two together and they soon find themselves attracted to each other. They can’t stop thinking of one another and Lucas is determined that he will look out for Quinn. While these two both have a past and secrets they also have never felt the way they do for each other. Little by little Quinn is losing pieces of her heart of Lucas. What will happen to them when and or if an unexpected revelation is made? Will they lose each other or will the love that they feel pull them together? Will they get their chance at an HEA? Read this book to find out. Both Quinn and Lucas are characters that I grew to love more and more with each chapter that I read. You know that they are meant to be together and I had my fingers and toes crossed that their relationship would last. I enjoyed the bantering back and forth between Quinn and Lucas as well as their interactions with the other characters in the story. Some of these characters are brought forward from other books in the series and I enjoyed reading about what they are doing now. This is an amazing story that has wonderful characters and had me at times turning pages. Highly recommended reading.
