My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in this series which is just as great as the first one and I look forward to seeing what is next for this author. I highly suggest reading the previous book in this series as well to help your enhancement of the characters and this author. Gumshoe is back in another great story with another mystery to solve. She is such a great character and I enjoy what she adds to the story. In this installment she finds herself trying to save a fifteen year old’s birthday party before it is ruined. A story that pulls you into the dark world of corruption. It has suspense and twists and turns you don’t want to miss. I enjoyed how I was pulled into the story from the start by the author’s use of details. There is great growth of the story throughout which makes it easy to read. This is an entertaining story that is fast paced and engaging. I look forward to seeing what happens with Gumshoe next. I highly recommend this book.

Gumshoe Goes to A Quinceanera is the second book in the Gumshoe Mysteries series by Laura Hawks. Having read and enjoyed several of Ms. Hawks’ books previously, there was no question that I would be passing this by when it released, as I knew it would be a fun read.
It is a YA cozy mystery, with paranormal elements, humour, banter, action, adventure, whimsy, secrets, corruption, friendship, and intrigue. The story was well woven, suspenseful, and entertaining- and even though it was a little predictable in parts and is targeted towards younger readers- I still really enjoyed it.
The characters are cleverly crafted into fully realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. The story is original, with a great pace and a smooth flow, making for an easy read.
As I have said before, Ms. Hawks always manages to intrigue me with her clever storylines, and this story was no different. I loved meeting Mia in the first book, and especially Gumshoe- who really steals the show, every time. So I was looking forward to catching up with them again and enjoyed following them along on this second adventure. Now I am forward to seeing what they get up to next.
Well worth the read!
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Laura Hawks!

This is the really cute story of Mia and her familiar, Gumshoe, and they are trying to find a murderer before Mia’s friend has her Quinceanera ruined. This story is very entertaining and Gumshoe had my giggling the whole way through. This would be a cute read-aloud for families as well as a good chapter book for readers venturing into reading on their own. It’s filled with mystery and humor and a quick read.

Another winner with this adventure for Mia & Gumshoe. Mia is trying to fulfill her promise to help Gumshoe find out what happened to his family. Along the way, another adventure involving a party. I just cannot put these books down. The last one (Gumshoe & The Mysterious Mushroom) and this one are sooo good that you want to read them in one sitting. They are entertaining. Gumshoe can only be understood by Mia. She has learned she is a witch and he is her familar. I laugh at their interactions. I have been reading this too my grandson and he has been chuckling too. He rarely laughs but he finds Gumshoe is funny. The cozies are perfect for the teen/young adult crowd. I’m an old lady and I love them too. I can’t wait for the next one.

Stalking the StalkerStalking the Stalker by Laura Hawks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stalking the Stalker was a thrilling 5 star read and book two in the Valley View Mysteries series.
I was pulled in right from the beginning with a murder in the prolugue. We then go back two weeks prior. We get drama, secrets, mystery, etc.

Tyler Channing comes to Valley View for a production, things take a twist when his stalker also shows up. An investigation starts when a body is discovered. I really loved the fact that it kept me guessing throughout the whole book on who the murdered could be. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story.

I was drawn in by Laura Hawks writing and I couldn’t stop until I was done. If your looking for a murder mystery that pulls you in this is the book for you. 1-click and get started today.

4 Stars

This is I believe my 2nd book by this author and I truly did enjoy it..It had a lot of moving parts and I got confused a couple times but was able to catch back on pretty quick. I also thought I had it all figured out like 10 times lol only to be wrong 9 of them.

Poor Louise was a complete mess LOL and her poor daughter Mackenzie, I loved her character and how she handled everything that was happening with her Mom, her Dad and just everything involved.

This was a great story and I became invested quite early and read it in one sitting. This would have been a 5 star book for me had I not lost the story a couple times but like I said I caught back up pretty quick.

I am definitely looking forward to more books from this author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give Stalking the Stalker (Valley View Mysteries Book 2) by Laura Hawks, 5 stars.

This is a great mystery whodunit that caught me by surprise in the beginning and kept surprising me the whole way through. First off, it leads with the death first. I love this concept. The author does not draw things out, making us wait. Boom, murder first. Then we go back in time leading up to the murder, then finally afterwards and the investigation. If have read mysteries like this before, some of them where not nearly as clean as this one. But the author does this so well. The victim herself wasn’t really innocent and became someone most people couldn’t even imagine. Now it comes to the suspects. The more Detective Mitchell looks into it, the higher the suspect list becomes.

A whodunnit at heart, there is also possible love blossoming along the way to make this even more intriguing. The people are great too, every one different, and many have motives. I didn’t guess who it was until the end. This is also the type of book that makes you feel torn about the victim. Yes, she was murdered, but she was doing some pretty crazy things. But was she really crazy or did something drive her to it? I believe you could sit down and argue about her for a long time. Which again, make this book all the better.

A shorter read, I finished this book in one night. If you are a fan of whodunit mysteries, this book is definitely for you. I cannot wait to read the next one.

Stalking the Stalker (Valley View Mysteries Book 2) by Laura Hawks. Ok so let me just start by saying wow what a ride. This author knows how to keep the readers guessing and on our toes. Every time I thought I’d figured out something bam a new turn! It was incredible. There’s so much this book has to offer from the mystery and suspense to the drama that unfolds for these characters. I love this authors attention to even the smallest details. The storyline is well written and paced just right, I never felt rushed or that it was lacking anything. I was honestly on the edge of my seat the entire story and I couldn’t put it down. The characters all bring something unique to move the story along. I was completely lost in the world the author created. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

Stalking the Stalker is the second book in the Valley View Mysteries series from Laura Hawks. I haven’t read the first yet and it didn’t affect my ability to enjoy this story so it would appear they are solid stand alone novels as well. I will go back eventually and check out book one while I await the release of book three.

Laura Hawks writes some cute mystery novels. I find hers to be less focus on the gritty details and scary side of mysteries and keeps things fun and light hearted even with the detailed and mysterious storyline. I liked that I was able to read a mystery and not feel heavy while doing so.

Tyler Channing is in Valley View for a production that he is set to star in. Things do not go as planned when a stalker makes themselves known to the town. Add in a body and Detective Mitchell and you have a nice set up for a murder mystery to take you away for a few hours.

This little mystery is an easy quick to read story. But don’t be fooled, it packs a powerful punch. It’s an intriguing little story with many suspects, turns, twists and surprises. Thought I had it figured then changed my mind, then changed my mind again. Romance but not the steamy kind, just very sweet and touching. But the best thing for me is the deeper story that Laura Hawks is giving us in Stalking the Stalker. Pick this one up, I think you will like it.

I loved reading this book. It pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let go until the final page. It has a mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat and wondering what will happen next. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Detective Caleb and Mackenzie. Their characters are one of the reasons that I enjoyed the story. Who killed Louise Harper? With so many suspects will the killer be caught? Read this book to find out. Many of the additional characters I enjoyed reading about. Then there are those who I didn’t know what to think of them or their intentions. The story made me feel like I was right there with the characters and following the clues with Detective Caleb. I couldn’t put the book down. It has believable characters and a wonderful storyline. I highly recommend reading it.

What a great read! Had me guessing until the end.
We follow a few people in this book, but it wasn’t confusing even without headers to say who was talking as you could figure it out with the transitions in place.
A murder has happened and no one know who exactly did it. Through the clues and evidence it points to a couple people but with more digging we find they were right under our nose the whole time. Kept me gripping my kindle to the very end.

Stalking the Stalker is the second book in the Valley View Mystery series by Laura Hawks. I have really enjoyed my time with this book. It has a great twisty whodunit quality to the mystery, with suspense, drama, intrigue, and more. The ‘stalker’ element of the story gave it an added intrigue, whilst the cleverly crafted mystery kept me guessing.
As always, Ms. Hawks drew me into her book and held my attention right through till the end. I was so caught up in the story that I read it in one sitting. I liked that it was a little different from her other books, but done with the same well-written, tight, and detailed style.
Tyler Channing came to Valley View to play his part in the stage production being held in town. Unfortunately, his psychotic stalker happens to be in town as well. But when her body is found, Detective Mitchell will need to utilize all his investigative skills if he’s to close this case. Secrets are uncovered, and several possible suspects are identified- Tanner included. So, what really happened? Whodunit? And why?
Well worth the read to find out.

Thank you, Ms. Hawks!

Stalking the Stalker by Laura Hawks is the second book in the Valley View Mysteries series. This is not my first book by Hawks and it will not be my last. It has been a little bit since I have read a “whodunnit” story. Hawks kept my attention from the first line to the last. This story is about Tyler Channing a celebrity who has a stalker. There is so much going on in Valley View, especially with the play with Tyler coming into town.. Tyler has a stalker Louise Harper who happens to be in Valley View as well. There was a murder and it happens to be Louise. Detective Mitchell has his work cut out for him with this murder. What is going to happen in the small town? Will the killer get caught? Who is the murder? Watch every corner and every detail and maybe you will find out “whodunit” before it is revealed.

Gumshoe and the Mysterious Mushrooms is the first book in the Gumshoe Mysteries Series by Laura Hawks. This teen mystery book was a good read and held me until the very end. Gumshoe And the Mysterious Mushrooms is book one in the Gumshoe Mysteries by Laura Hawks. Ok so I struggled a little with this book, but it was by no fault of the author as this book has been written perfectly. While this is not for me the younger audience are absolutely going to love it, they will also love the pace this book moves at. The book is centred around a 15-year-old girl by the name of Mia Thomas. Not only does Mia’s teacher need to speak to her parents, her father gets arrested and she makes friends with a cat named Gumshoe. If that isn’t enough, she has the knack of talking to and understanding cats. Mia and Gumshoe join forces to try and work out what on earth is going on with her family. Will they find out what is behind her fathers arrest? And what lays before them while they try and work out the issues.

He is a loud, coffee drinking, obnoxious cat that helps Mia solve mysteries! They have to careful though, because the case they’re on right now might be Mia’s last one if she doesn’t watch her back! She might be able to solve the mystery BUT being able to stay alive is going to be hard…

Gumshoe and the Mysterious Mushrooms by Laura Hawks is a great YA book. I am always looking for YA authors as they tend to write the best stories. Hawks does an exceptional job of grabbing and keeping my attention throughout the entire story. I cannot wait for the rest of the books in the series. She befriends a cat, who promptly tell her his name is Gumshoe. Gumshoe and Mia try to figure out what is happening with her family. Just watch the relationship between Gumshoe and Mia. Will they find out what is going on or will there be more problems?

Gumshoe and the Mysterious Mushrooms is the first novel in the Gumshoe Mystery series by Laura Hawks. This is my first novel by this author.

On her 15th birthday, she sets out to clear her family name after her father is arrested. Her partner is a cat named Gumshoe, who is her familiar.

This was a really good novel and very refreshing. I haven’t read much in a while so I was really enjoying this funny YA cozy mystery. Gumshoe had me laughing often while reading. He is a cat that drinks coffee and wine and tries to help Mia with the investigation. What secrets will the two uncover?

From the title, one isn’t sure what to expect but this is cute read and I am excited for the next book.
