I have not read a psychological thriller like this in a very long time! Complex at its best! This story is detailed and intricate, and every chapter draws you in further making you not want to miss a single word. This author has taken us deep inside each characters mind, and its a very wild ride. You question every person, every motive, what’s real and what’s not, and what’s fueling everything that’s lead to this path for each character encountered. This book was soo great, and one that will leave you deep in thought as well as completely speechless…

Black Canvas by Laura Rossi. This book was so amazing. I started it and didn’t want to put it down. Its my favorite genre so I was excited to read it and was not disappointed at all. Its the story of Dr. Aria De Luca forensic psychiatrist who helps the local police department. She has taken a sabbatical from work due to the death of one of her patients to suicide and her own divorce. Mattias who is her artistic neighbor seems to always be there for her but he has his own secrets. Her main goal in her work is to help women who have been treated to the worst kinds of people and once her new patient comes in and she starts to delve into her life she begins to think that maybe their is a gang of men preying on these young women. The deeper she digs into the secrets, lies and mysteries of this group the more dangerous it becomes. I thought I had this book figured out about 1/2 way thru but boy was I wrong. If you like dark, psychological thrillers you have come to the right place, just be prepared to not put it down once you start. One of the best books I’ve read in a long time!

Great psychological thrillers are more than just fun reads, they can be mind-bending and incredible journeys! The most trying jobs are the ones that test you not only physically but mentally, as Aria soon learns, when she discovers the monsters under her patients’ beds aren’t all fiction. If you decide to read this book, be prepared to take a trip down the metaphorical rabbit hole. I love how the beginning of the novel sets up the rest of the story so well, and once you really start getting into the book, the twist and turns never stop coming. When a story keeps you on that rollercoaster, sometimes you get an ending that’s just meh…not in this book!

Wow! This is an original psychological masterpiece – it gets inside your skull and worms around until you are completely hooked. Aria De Luca is a forensic psychiatrist seeking to help women who have been subjected to the worst of humanity. At the start of this book, she is back in action for the first time since the difficult loss of a patient to suicide. As she starts unravelling what happened to her new patient, whose memory has been damaged due to trauma, she realizes that these abusers may be part of an organized group targeting young, pretty women. The case sets off something in Aria, who becomes obsessed with getting deeper into the case. As Aria spirals down into the seedy world, her psyche starts to fissure. Trying to figure this one out as you turn the pages faster and faster will have you staying up til the wee hours to get to the bottom of it!

“Aren’t we all a little crazy?”. If you’ve never thought this before, you will after reading this book. I was instantly intrigued from reading the synopsis, but didn’t quite know what to expect. Whatever preconceived notions I had of this book fell way short of how amazing it actually was. I am extremely stingey with my 5 star ratings, but this deserved it!

If you are looking for an intense, mysterious, mind-warping thriller- this is the book for you! I gulped this story down from page one and spent too many “one more chapter” debates before bed. However, even if I wasn’t reading it before bed, it was consuming my thoughts with the intricacies of the storyline. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this book since I finished it. Highly recommend this book, it has a huge impact.

Wow!! This psychological thriller was simply phenomenal!! This book had me sitting on the edge of my seat the whole way through, I had zero idea of how this story would play out, which made it so incredibly entertaining!! I was so captivated by this storyline that I ended up reading it in one sitting as I got so caught up in the story forgetting about real life.
This author wrote such a twisted tale, one that was intense, captivating, complex, and so spine tingling. I haven’t read a book like this one in so long, one that gave me all the feels! Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about this one, I loved it so much and would absolutely recommend it to everyone!

Wow I really don’t know where to start with this book. It is definately an amazing psychological Thriller which will keep you gripped from start to finish. The author does such an amazing job with the characters and the story tells and there are so many twists and turns that you even find yourself questioning your own sanity. With so many stories you never know who is telling the truth and which stories are lies. The author does an amazing job at building so many smoke screens into this book that when you think you have a handle on it something changes your views and ideas all over again.
Aria is a psychologist. After losing one of her patients she is struggling to come to terms with it, feeling like it was her fault and that she missed something. Added to this confusion the stress of a divorcee from her cheating husband and Aria has a lot to deal with. When the police call her in to speak to a young woman found injured on the streets Aria realises this is something big and very dangerous. As she finds herself getting more dragged into her new case she also relives her old case and her patient that died. Could the two cases be linked in some way? As we delve deeper into her patients minds and also see a side to Aria coming out. A side that has demons and holds secrets of their own. Through the steps Aria learns how freeing it is when we sometimes wear a mask that is different to the mask we wear everyday.

I love a book that does a good twisted psychological thriller, but this author literally took that and blew me away and then twisted me around a few more times! I was totally hooked and immersed in the writing and the story and what it gave to me as a reader! Holy crud this was so freaking good! Seriously!!
The book, I found everything really ties in the more you get into it! You get the basics when you first start if your like me you get a bunch of questions and wonder when you first start reading to what is and what came to be sort of thing. I got hooked rather quickly with this book I would say, the thrill of the read was certainly there, and shock and twists literally kept popping up at every turn! Loved this book!
I found often as I read through, I knew the truth of things to say the least, but shortly after I was wrong. This was a constant consistency through out the book for sure. I loved that fine detail. The author did a great engaging psychological book that truly was capable of twisting the reader’s mind, literally every blink of my eyes, I felt shocked and impressed with the writing. The story and the truth as it begins to unfold really keeps you at the edge of the seat. You really need to read this to see what I am talking about and untangle the web yourself! You will not be disappointed, I assure you that!
The book was mesmerizing in all the details it held. The writing was absolutely perfect, and was amazing book of its genre! I could not get enough of this story and its unraveling. Seriously, amazing book. I do with all my soul highly recommend this must read1 Its a book surely not to be missed out on!

What a thrilling read! I love suspenseful stories and this one had me holding my breath while my heart raced! Unpredictable twists and turns had me guessing right until the very last page. Some stories are easy to predict but not this one. This is the dark kind of story that leaves you pondering long after the book has closed. I found myself questioning not only the book but myself and others around me as well. There are very few books that have shaken me the way this one did. Everyone should read this book!

This book was such an awesome read, even if you aren’t regularly a psychological thriller fan. It is dark, it is beautiful, it is about the different parts of ourselves and who we want to be. There are many moments when it feels obvious what has happened, but you get more nuances and details and find yourself at a loss for guessing the story, over and over.
Control makes people do crazy things – sometimes to seek control, sometimes to let go of it. Aria’s story is so wonderfully woven that you won’t stop thinking about it after you’ve completed the book. This book is about the different parts of her and the occurrences that have led to the telling of her story. The author filled this book with so many excellent zigs and zags, I didn’t want to put it down.

This is officially one of the best books I ever read! It is hard to review this genre because anything can give you a clue of what’s going to happen. This was a slow suspended challenging read in the best way. Every page brings questions and you have no idea what is real. Once you finish you still may question reality. Aria is questioning herself, mentally physically emotionally. What is wrong with me? What type of person am I? What is my purpose? Everything you thought you know, you don’t. This author is masterful in creating the idea that you are living through this protagonist. This read is unforgettable, this will have you going back and forth thinking you missed something. The ending is a hit to the gut. Prepare yourself for one of the best reads in this genre. Standing ovation on this I am still amazed.

I have never read anything by this author, but I have to admit that the cover of this book and its title had me very intrigued from the beginning. This book has so much to offer its thought provoking, dark, tense, and twisted. This story is such an intricately woven story, that you’ll never see what’s coming next. Full of secrets, mind games, deception and more, there are so many twists and turns might feel a little crazy by the end. This author gives us not only a fantastic story by fantastic characters to go along with it. Their lives all connected by dark things including manipulation and more. While physiological thrillers are not normally my thing this one was fantastic and I highly recommend.

Black Canvas by Laura Rossi. Well, that was completely unexpected read- in a really great way! This is a completely mindboggling and gripping psychological thriller that had me ensnared pretty much from the beginning. As I had not read any of this author’s work before, I really wasn’t expecting such a cleverly woven story- so colour me impressed! It was a little slow to get going, but soon took off and I had to strap in for one heck of a mind-bending ride. The story is quite original, beautifully dark, complex, tense, intriguing, unpredictable, and entirely unforgettable. I would love to go into detail here- but the story is so cleverly stitched together that I think you should dive in and let the author, and her twisted tale, surprise you. So, no spoilers from me. I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to exploring more from this talented author! Happy reading!

Mind officially blown! It is a dark and twisted tale that this author has intricately weaved. A complex psychological thriller that will do your head in. The author is new to me, but I am impressed with her work. It started a little slow and I had to settle in but when it gets going it is one twisty ride. It is full of obsession and deceit, lies and suspense, turmoil and secrets. This multi layered plot is unique, original and gripping and oh so twisted. I say don’t even try to work out what is going on just go with the flow cause there is no way you will guess what is going on. I am not going to give anything away, you need to discover this little gem all on your own. I have to say this is one of the best books I have read this year and I have read a lot. This book was a good read but definitely much darker and twisted than other books I usually read. I was drawn in by the synopsis. The connection between the characters especially Ivy and Aria was interesting for sure. There were some parts that definitely surprised me. I wasn’t expecting the Mattias angle or Gabriele part either. I did have a hard time staying engaged in the story but that could be just because it wasn’t something that I could connect with. Overall, I’m glad I read it but it definitely was different than I was expecting.

I loved this dark thriller. This is a newer author for me which I can’t wait to see what is next for her. This is a well written story about a woman who thinks she sees someone else looking back at her. She takes control of her life in every aspect. What happens next is truly twisted and hard to put down. The twists and turns are like no other and kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters not only bring the story to life but also keep the story engaging. This is a fast paced story that you don’t want to miss. The growth of the characters and plot throughout the story is awesome. I highly recommend this book.
