For Kia Kamen, seeing Jeff “Smitty” Smith again changes everything. Five years ago she had a one night stand with Jeff and that night had her raising her son for the last five years without being able to locate his dad. Now he is the coach of her son’s baseball team.

Jeff cannot believe he is a dad and that he missed the first five years. He has every intention of being part of Max’s life and Kia is wonderful, feelings for her begin to arise again and as they explore what they have it is a bit of a roller coaster ride because the feelings they both share for one another is intense. This new couple have to figure out what they are building while being mindful of the fact that every decision for the future has to be the right move for Max.

Max is a hoot, he brought a lot of laughter to the story. What I really liked about this book is that their relationship has hiccups and they are believable ones. I enjoyed this book a lot.

So this is book 3 in this AMAZING series and yes you could just read it but I highly recommend reading the entire series start to finish. I promise you won’t regret even a single second spent reading. There is so much happening in this story with these fantastic characters, a bit of jealousy, meddling parents, trust issues and fear just to name a few, that you will be completely captivated from start to finish. I absolutely LOVE Jeff and Kia. I may have finished the book but they still have my heart and always will.

Kia has made a comfortable life as a single mom with her son. Her son starts teeball and can’t stop talking about his coach Smitty. When Kia goes to pick up her son from practice, Smitty, is Kias one night stand from six years ago and the father of her son.
Professional ball player Jake smith, “Smitty” is giving back and enjoying coaching for the little league. A blast from the past shows up and he’s excited to reconnect with Kia. Until she drops a bomb on him.
Kia doesn’t trust that Jake is going to stick around and the “newness” wears off and Jake is trying to convince Kia that he’s playing for keeps, not just the novelty of being a dad and committed relationship.
Even though this a part of a series, you can read as a stand alone and not feel like you are missing anything as each book features a player. Great fun read

This book is a great second chance romance, secret baby romance that fits perfectly with the overall feel of this series. This book was a great story from the moment I started reading. I loved the characters in the book and how they discovered each other after so many years.
This book is one of my favourite tropes and the author has done it so well. I was engaged with the story and the characters and wanted them to figure everything out. It didn’t take me long to read this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it all.

This contemporary sports romance is the third book in the Playing for Keeps series. It follows Kia and Jeff as they navigate their second chance romance which comes with a ready made family. I really enjoyed their story and it was easy to get swept up in the dialogue and storyline. Another great addition and looking forward to the rest of the series. Recommend.

Sliding Into Home is the fourth book in the Playing for Keeps series by Lauren Fraser. It is a contemporary sports romance with a secret baby trope, angst, drama, chemistry, single mother, professional baseball player, jealousy, meddling, tension, and emotion.
This is Kia and Jeff’s story- who had an encounter six years earlier that left more than an impression on them. Now, secrets are about to come to light. What happens makes for a great read.
If you are looking for a quick and easy sports romance that has some emotion, angst, interesting characters, and drama- then this might be the book for you.
The series contains:
-Too Far (Book #1)
-Everything to Me (Book #2)
-Throwing the Curve (Book #3)

Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Fraser does next.
Happy Reading…

Sliding into Home is the third book in the Playing for Keeps series by Lauren Fraser. It is a second chance romance sports romance with a secret. It can be read as a standalone, but I encourage you to start at the beginning as the characters cross over.
The characters feel real. We get to see sides to them that are not all polished. As we go through the journey of their lives, we feel it all the pain and emotions that go with it.
With tension, doubts, jealousy, drama, trust issues, fears, meddling parents, anger and angst it is a smorgasbord of emotions. But let’s not forget the passion and chemistry.
This is Kia and Jeff’s story. Baseball is his life, but he is about to discover that there is one thing that may just change his mind. Max steals the show though.
Sliding into Home is told in multiple POV’s which gives us a deeper look at the character. It is a quick and engaging baseball read.
I look forward to the rest of the teams’ stories.
Is love a good baseball romance this one is for you.

Sliding Into Home is Book Three in the Playing for Keeps Series. This story centers around the characters of Kia and Jeff. Six years ago, they met and hooked up for a one-night stand. Afterwards Kia discovered that she was pregnant, but she was unable to find Jeff to tell him. Jeff went onto to pursue a career in major league baseball which explains why he could not be found. Kia did not let this deter her from having a future and she moved forward with her life becoming a successful tattoo artist. She is determined, smart, hardworking, feisty, and a great mom to Max. When she runs into Jeff at her son’s baseball game she is surprised and knows that she needs to tell him that Max is his son. Jeff is now Max’s baseball coach, and he is just as surprised to see Kia after all these years. When Kia tells Jeff the news that he is Max’s father the two must navigate through how they will co-parent Max as well as work through all the external forces that seem determined to create unnecessary stress in their lives. Jeff could have easily walked away but he is determined to be a good dad to Max as well as be there for Kia. As Kia and Jeff spend more time together, they begin to develop intense, undeniable feelings for one another. A well written story with a fantastic storyline and great characters. This book will draw you in and have you rooting for Jeff, Kia, and Max to get their happily ever after story that they all deserve. A great read full of family, drama, stress, love, passion, hurt, jealousy, lies, and love.

An adorable second chance romance that will have you rooting for true love. Oh my, I found myself rooting for Max. Who wouldn’t? Max is a sweet little boy that deserved to have a mom and Dad. Kia and Smitty are two people that deserved that second chance and they will protect Max at all costs. Watching them work out their parenting issues while the spark burned between them was charming. This is one of those couples you just want to cheer for. You also give a big happy yell when some changes are made in Kia’s life. I loved the plot. The story sucks you right in from the beginning. It is very good and very intriguing. It Keeps you engaged and wanting more. I enjoyed this story so much. The romance, humor and the fact that it’s a quick read. Genre – Sports, Contemporary Romance

Cover Designer – Lauren Fraser

Sliding into home isn’t easy, sometimes it’s a fight to stay on the bag.

Single mom, and tattoo artist, Kia Kamen finally has her act together. Sure, it might be an illusion, but it feels like a pretty good one. Until a chance encounter with Jeff Smith proves it was all a lie. She’s not even close to having it all together. But what’s a girl supposed to do when her one-night stand from six years ago shows up as her son’s T-ball coach? Blurt out he’s the father, of course.

As centerfielder for the San Diego Hawks, Jeff ‘Smitty’ Smith is used to being put in pressure situations. He just never expected that to mean needing to come in clutch as a dad. Being a father he could figure out, getting Kia to take a chance on them is proving to be a little more challenging. Thank god, he’s a competitive guy, who doesn’t know the meaning of the word quit.

But how does he convince Kia it’s not a game to him? This professional athlete is ready to play for keeps.

Strong characters and baseball
Really enjoyed this sports based romance. The author has put a little bit of everything in this book about a fake relationship turning into something more. The banter between Ryan and Peyton was brilliant and their chemistry was well written. My favourite character obviously would have to be Rayne – lol! Highly recommend.

When Peyton is confronted with the truth, that the man she has just started dating is actually married with children, she needs to find away out of the situation…fast. When Ryan takes her home, along with an announcement by one his teammates, the story begins to spread that Ryan and Peyton are dating. Little do they know…they can’t stand each other. But, they agree to continue the fake-dating arrangement because it would look bad for Peyton’s foundation and Ryan’s career. These two continue to deny their feelings…but when things start tearing them apart, they must decide if they will acknowledge what is really going on or if they are going to continue to live their lies.

I enjoyed both of these characters. They both had strong personalities in their professional lives and their chemistry together was off the charts. Their strong-willed refusal to admit their feelings, even though it was obvious to everyone around them, was frustrating at times. The both had their reasons to keep their hearts protected…but could they be the ones that the other has been waiting for to make them believe in love? (You have to read it to find out)

This was a great 5 star read. I was pulled right into this story. The characters were great and I loved the connection they had. Peyton finds herself in a situation that Ryan ends up helping her out of. Because of Ryan’s career he has a hard time finding a woman who is real. When they decide to keep up the facade will feelings get in the way?

I now can’t wait for baseball season! This book not only got me excited about the season but I enjoyed reading it.

Peyton is the absolute best person. She does everything possible to serve as a good example to the kids she works with and is just a genuine person. If she could only read people a little better.

Ryan is very judgey, but after finding out about his past it sort of make sense, though I think he went a little too far. Overall he is a pretty amazing guy and just as genuine as Peyton.

I think I have found a new series to follow and see which guy falls next.

This is the second book in this series and it doesn’t disappoint. It can be read as a stand alone so don’t fret. If you enjoy this book as much as I did, you will definitely want to read the first book in the series. To start this book took some turns that I didn’t see coming. The way that the leading female character in the book is introduced to her love interest, completely caught me off guard. It was an amazing twist that you don’t typically see in the sports romance genre. The way that the characters build their interest in each other is by “using” the other person. They each had something to gain from their fake relationship. The leading female hates that she has been put in this situation and is angry with everyone including herself. The leading man is just trying to be a good team mate, so he steps up to help when a teammate tries to hide the lies and save his marriage. What starts as an enemies agreement turns to something else. The slow build in this book is everything. It helps builds the feelings, helps the characters to have growth, and makes for a dang good story. This is an easy to read story that will keep you interested in the plot the whole time. It is all fun and games until a fake relationship isn’t so fake anymore.

This book is book two of the series. You don’t need to read book one to follow along but I would because both are so good!

Peyton has always strived to do the right thing. How she found herself in this pickle she’ll never know? How did she not know he was married? Ryan has always been told the team comes first. When his teammate makes a mess of things, he steps in to help, begrudgingly. He doesn’t believe for a second that Peyton is innocent in all this. Ryan and Peyton’s fake dating wasn’t supposed to be a whole thing but now they need to keep up the facade. Is it a facade though or do they develop feelings for each other (other than hate)? Will the team always come first or will Ryan’s priorities shift?

I really enjoyed this book! Ryan was a bit harsh at first but I get why. His character evolved well throughout the book. Peyton is also a great character. Their chemistry was wow! I couldn’t put this book down! I can’t wait to read book three!

In all honesty, I’m not much into sports romances, but the concept of these books had me so intrigued that I had to read this series and wow, am I glad I did. Lauren Fraser has written this series so well that I truly connected to the characters and was invested in their stories.

What do you do when you invite your friend’s little sister to stay with you only to realize she’s nothing like you remember? Do you break bro code and have a little fun? Do you risk your friendship for something you’re sure will only be a passing tryst? Can true love actually be real? This is an entertaining read that definitely packs some steam along with all the feels. Kendall and Pete are great characters and this is a fast, fun read.

When I read the description of this book I was like a moth to a flame. I had to know how two people who were thrown together because of the actions of a selfish jerk were gonna pretend to be a couple and why would Ryan (the main hero) even bother to help out this stranger?

Peyton finds herself at a party with a married man, which completely baffles her that she could be so stupid as to not have known. Ryan, the star pitcher, goes above and beyond for his teammates, so he ends up trying to help his cheating teammate by fake dating the girl he was cheating with. Peyton and Ryan are now thrown together and neither is that happy about it, though as time goes on they can’t deny the chemistry they have. Will a fake relationship turn into a real one that neither of them could see coming, or is it safer to move on and forget this whole ordeal? Even if you’re like me and not so much into sports books, I’d definitely say check this out, because if you like a book with drama, romance, chemistry, and enemies to lovers, then you are in for a treat.

Throwing the Curve is a sports romance between Peyton and Ryan. Peyton is a director of a community center who will be working with the Hawks, a professional baseball team. She meets one of the players, Andy, and really hits is off, however he is hiding some important information. This deceitful behavior leads Peyton to have to use Ryan, the star player on the team, to save her from embarrassment. This joint union ends up being one of the best things to happen, once the two of them stopped making assumptions about each other. What is suppose to be a business transaction ends up becoming all to real. However, each of them, especially Ryan, have some major insecurities around relationships. Hopefully he can get it together before everything is ruined.
I really enjoyed this sports romance with a little enemy to lovers motif. Each of the characters were loveable, but Ryan you had to get to know a little before that happened. By the end, he became one of my favorite characters and you could really see love develop over the page. I enjoyed how the book had male figures standing up for female rights and defending a positive treatment for them (but with that comes some negative treatment of women too). Peyton was a great character. She was strong, feminine, intelligent, but also realistic. I enjoyed her strength throughout. Overall, it was a good, fun read.

This book totally works as a stand alone, but if you are like me you will run out and get the first one as well! Seriously, this book is fake dating at its best. Ryan is a super hot major league pitcher with no use for the baseball groupies that hang around. Peyton finds herself in a situation she never thought she would be. Ryan and Peyton start “dating” to save face and keep the peace for a few weeks. The chemistry pouring off these two is palpable.

We begin this story with Peyton who is meeting the team because she is dating one of the players. And boy does he turn out to be a player. Just not the type of player Peyton wants to be with. When it rains it pours, bad things happen in threes, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Peyton is living this way. She just wants to be happy and helping the kids at her center is what makes her heart the happiest. But getting the local baseball team to volunteer is a dream come true.

The baseball team includes Ryan. Ryan is Kendall’s brother. We met Kendall in Book 1. (Everything to Me). I love this story so much more than book 1. By chapter 3 I was already loving it! These characters are funny, feisty and sassy. Again, this author throws a curve for her characters. And we get to enjoy the game!

Another homerun by this author. Looking forward to who’s up next!

⭐️⭐️⭐⭐️ Book Review

“When life throws you a curve sometimes all you can do is swing for the fences.” Throwing the Curve is an enemies to lovers, sports romance written by Lauren Fraser. It is the second installment of the Playing for Keeps series. Although it is a part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

Peyton Sharp prides herself on being an honest person and doing what is right. When she realizes the baseball player she is dating is a married man she can’t continue with the shenanigans and must escape from the mess. Ryan Graves, another member of the baseball team comes to her rescue and agrees to be Peyton’s fake boyfriend. This fake relationship doesn’t come without stipulations.

Lauren Fraser writes about love and relationships but in the end she’s a sucker for a happy ending. Throwing the Curve will not let you down in the happy ending category. The characters of Peyton and Ryan were relatable and lovable. Ryan’s team mates as secondary characters really wrapped up the storyline. The pace of this novel kept me wanting more, never bored throughout. I did feel like the forced fake relationship was awkward but overall I really liked the story. Despite this the characters and Fraser’s writing style really drew me in. And the SPICE, oh my! It will not disappoint. I can’t wait to see what installment 3 of this series brings to the table.

This story is about Pete and Kendall. What starts out as a typical “can’t love or even lust after my best friend’s little sister and I love my brother’s best friend” type of story turns out to be pretty good. This author gives these characters a fun and flirty life with a baseball twist. Super cute and sweet.

I loved how the author told their back story without having actual flashbacks so the story continued to flow. There’s sexy time so this book is not for kids or easily offended readers. This story is a quick read and has a HEA. And the fact that there are secondary characters is even better. Nothing better than more stories to read by an author who knows how to write.

Would recommend this story and looking forward to who’s up to bat next!

We all know not to mess with team dynamics when it comes to a team sport like baseball. Pete took a leap of faith when he fell hard for Kendall and then had to face up to Ryan at the end.

Peyton Sharp wasn’t sure about the man she had just started seeing, but when they show up at a party she quickly realizes that everything he told her was a facade. Getting thrown under the buss Ryan Graves, star pitcher of the team, finds himself pretending to be Peyton’s boyfriend at least until he can get her out of there. Ryan though believes she is just another woman in a long line trying to date a baseball star for personal gain, he couldn’t be more wrong. News gets out that the man who no one sees date is dating, Peyton and Ryan come to a truce and decide to continue to pretend. What happens though when feelings get involved though, can Ryan push his doubts aside?

This was delightful. The story pulls you in right away and I really liked Peyton. I thought the way the characters emotions were written you could easily visualize what was happening. Terrific chemistry, terrific book.
