Beast (Popov Bratva Book 5) by Leslie Georgeson – Review by Kayla Octaviano

Beast (Popov Bratva #5)Beast by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amazing! Heartfelt, heartbreaking, and heartwarming all in one! Adrik is a loyal Popov boyveik, or soldier, and he has been for a long time. It’s the only place he ever felt accepted because of his facial deformities. He is known as the beast. From the moment he saw Annika Popov, the granddaughter of the Popov mafia leader, he knew he needed to get to know her. But she was off limits, and he wanted to shield her from having to see his deformed face. This is a love story, but it’s also a family story. The Popov family is strong and wealthy, and they worked very hard to be in that position. Adrik’s family, and family trauma, are nothing like the Popovs. Sadly, his past comes back to haunt him. Read this book if you love suspense, betrayal, family loyalty, and fighting for someone you love.

Wow. This was the perfect mix of dramatic, emotional, loving, exciting, dangerous, and relatable. Read this book! This is the first book in this series that I have read, but I can’t wait to read the rest! This book is about Leah and Dominik. Leah is a pop country singer with a secret past nobody knows about, while Dominik is a part of the Bratva brotherhood, his mob-like family businesses. Dominik is a thief, but he stole the wrong girl’s car, or so he thinks. Read their story! It is exciting and you won’t be able to put it down! I loved Dominik and Leah’s story and I know you will too! It’s the perfect combination of action and romance.

Adrik and Annika’s story might just be in my top three favorite reads for 2022. I did read this as a stand-alone without any problems but you can tell other characters have a story to be read so I’ll definitely be going back to read the rest of the series. There’s so many amazing things about this story, the characters pull you so completely into their world it’s hard to leave when the end comes. Once I started this book I simply couldn’t put it down. I read it in one night and wished I could have slowed it down but I was just way to invested. I’ll definitely be rereading this one though. Well written with characters you’ll fall for. Five huge stars and highly recommended!

This story focuses on Dominik and Leah, two complete opposites. One lives in the shadows and seems to operate only in darkness while the other thrives in the light. While on a heist Dominik has a wrench thrown in his plans when the owner of the car he is boosting jumps in and goes along for the ride. Each has secrets that could easily get them into trouble or end a career. Dominik isn’t one for getting attached to anyone but something about this woman is making him want to break that rule. Will these two end up with a happily ever after or will they try to ruin one another? Now that I have read at least two books in this series I plan on going back to read the rest. I really do dislike when I read books that are part of a series but I started at the end, haha. Granted this can be read as a stand alone. <br />You won’t feel lost as the author has written the books in such a way that they all tie together but you don’t have to read the others to get any back stories. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

I just want to start off saying that this book was a good read. I liked that Adrik had a plan to make things happen to try and better his life and then set things into motion. After having such a hard life due to some unfortunate circumstances he didn’t feel like he stood a chance doing anything. He must’ve felt like he was on cloud nine when the Bratva Brotherhood let him into their ranks. He spent years proving that he was a good and loyal soldier to them so he got the task of protecting the boss’ daughter, Annika. Adrik is the only one that stand between Annika and whoever is after her. He has been crushing on her for years but he doesn’t want to scare her away like so many others with his scars. Will he be able to keep her safe from himself?

Beast (Popov Bratva Book 5) by Leslie Georgeson – Review by Kayla Kearney

Beast (Popov Bratva #5)Beast by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I chose this book for the name thinking it was a twist on the classic Beauty and the Beast, and even though it wasn’t completely, I enjoyed it so much! I’ve been reading a lot of mafia books by Amy McKinley in the past year and a half or so, and even though it wasn’t by her, it was just as fantastic as all of them have been.

This book is the fifth of the series but I was able to enjoy it without having read the other books first. I enjoyed the story a lot, the flashbacks that pop up throughout made me want to not put it down, because it made me need to know more about ‘Beast’ and his haunted past. I love the connection that he forges with Annika, and how she is able to show him that it is what lies beneath the surface that matters more. Can’t wait to read more by this author!

Forbidden love tropes are my absolute favorite!!!
Add a broken man who needs fixing and I’m hooked!
I truly believe that our soul mates are suppose to have such a significant impact on our lives that we are forever changed and this book just cemented that believe.
This book is superbly written with well developed characters and an amazing storyline.
I did not read the previous books in this series, so it can definitely be read and enjoyed as a standalone. But I loved this author’s writing so much I’m going to read the other.

I haven’t been this interested in a mafia story in ages. I couldn’t put it down! Adrik and Annika are this unlikely, yet perfect pair that fit together in the most unexpected, wonderful ways.

Learning about Adrik’s traumatising past, along with Annika’s, and seeing the similarities was absolutely insane. There are twists, turns, and love in all corners of this story that will keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire book.

I loved every minute of this one, and I just KNOW you will too.

Beast (Popov Bratva #5)Beast by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

While this is book 5 in the Popov Bratva series it is the second book by Leslie Georgeson I have read, the first being Thief book 4 in the series. First learning of Adrik in book 4 I found him interesting and wanting to know his story, so I was very happy when I learned this book was about him. While book 4 Adrik had been with the Popov Bratva for several years this book starts with his time before, and how he began working for the Popov’s.
Growing up Adrik knew nothing about his father’s work until the day he was fired. That day changed everything, Kirill Volkov was Adrik’s father and was the cash collector for the Bratva, taking the money to the bookkeeper Alexei. Until the numbers started being off, having a family of his own he was fired and let off easy. At the age of seventeen Adrik had witnessed a year of his father abusing his mother, enough was enough and he stood up to his father for her only to be beaten badly by his father and warned next time he would kill him. With no other choice Adrik packed a bag and left, knowing he physically was not able to deal with his father, he vowed to his little brother Damien, who was 11 at the time that he would return for him as soon as he had somewhere for them to live and could care for him. Four years later Adrik had succeeded in impressing the grandsons of the Bratva and was given a place in their brotherhood so long as his story checked out. With time jumps both backwards and forwards this book gives an overall life story of how far Adrik has come. From being a homeless 21-year-old in the beginning to jumping forward 8 years. After a devastating lose only Annika seems to be filling the emptiness inside of him and she doesn’t even know what he looks like. Annika is different from her family, an outcast of sorts in her own rights amongst the other Popov females. She is a concert pianist having suffered a great trauma that makes Adrik long to protect her. Annika has always seen him around but never given the chance to see his face or introduce herself to him.
Can they heal each other’s trauma? Will Adrik, the Beast, ever get to feel the love he is craved? Will Annika show revulsion if or when she sees his face? Adrik hides in the shadows and behind his shaggy hair in fear that the day she sees him she will turn away in revulsion like all the others, but with her he knows it would break him if she did. The authors world she has created is so in depth both in story and twists that it keeps the reader guessing what will happen next. I look forward to PUNK (Efrem’s story) – coming March 28, 2023, to learn of the youngest Popov male’s story.

Beast (Popov Bratva #5)Beast by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If I could give this 10 stars, I would! I knew I was going to love this book. I’ve read Thief which is the 4th book of this series, which I’m obsessed with. So knowing how much I loved that book I just KNEW I was going to love this one. The suspense, the action, the thrill…I LOVE IT. Adrik has had it hard growing up. His face is what everyone notices at first, and he’s gotten crap for it more times than he can count. They call him BEAST because people say he looks like a monster. His face is all messed up from a terrible time in his life. His dad is a horrible person. He left his home before he did something he would regret…but he didn’t want to leave his younger brother. So he left to try and make a life and he would come back for his brother once he was settled. He joins the mob and ends up having to protect the families daughter, Annika. She was attacked and now is receiving threatening messages. Adrik has always had an eye for Annika and now that he’s responsible for her life and for protecting her, nothing will stop him! Annika sees him for WHO he is and not by what he looks like. If you love a book that gives you all the emotions, read this! You won’t be disappointed! Leslie Georgeson is becoming one of my favorite authors! Her books keep me interested and I can’t seem to put her books down. I finish her books in one sitting. They’re THAT good. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this series!

Thief (Popov Bratva Book 4) by Leslie Georgeson – Review by Ayla Phipps

Thief (Popov Bratva #4)Thief by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by Leslie Georgeson, and I plan on reading them all after this. While Thief is technically the fourth book in the Popov Bratva series each book can be read as a standalone. Yes, the characters from the previous books do appear in this book but it is just adding to the story, they are not the main leads here. This book is a dual perspective book, going between Dominik and Leah.
Dominik Popov is a 28-year-old man living in L.A., he is a part of the Popov Bratva family that has many business ventures including car sales and owning nightclubs. Dominik lived life by one rule, don’t get attached, but over the past year since his mother had passed away and his twin brother moved out of the family home things are different. Now feeling very dissatisfied with his life Dom decides to fill a new order for a car, for a thrill he has long lost.
Leah Hart is a 27-year-old country music star living in L.A., a simple run to the local grocery store with her best friend and manager Melanie flips her life on its head. In the hurry to leave the store after a fellow customer recognizes her, she realizes after getting home that she has lost her wallet. A quick call to Gus her chauffeur and bodyguard to check the car she has no choice but to return to the store before they close in hopes of finding it.
10:45 p.m. with only 15 minutes until the store closes for the night Leah feels parking next to the only other expensive vehicle in the parking lot is safe. The feeling someone is behind her she catches a mysterious man exit the other vehicle and steal hers, but he won’t get away without her. With no choice but to let her go with her car he makes sure she keeps quiet. Insuring he has a backup plan in case she goes to the police he sets out to find out exactly who Leah Hart is. No preparation in the world could have prepared him for what he learns. A false name, dark family past, and a twisted ex keeps Dominik and Leah on their toes as they fight against their unwanted attraction for the other.
Secrets come out and life mottos begin to shift. What will happen when Dominik learns all her secrets? What will happen when Leah’s past finds her? The authors world building and character development kept me racing to learn more. I can’t wait to learn more about Adrik, one of Dominik’s most loyal and trusted bodyguards in Beast, book 5 in the Popov Bratva series.

Beast (Popov Bratva #5)Beast by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I read Leslie Georgeson’s ‘Beast,’ the 5th book in her Popov Bratva’s series, in A NIGHT. It started off steady, but after the first few chapters I was HOOKED. I could not put the book down.
The story is told from both the point of view of the mafia bodyguard, Adrik – aka the beast – and the mafia princess, Annika, and I think it’s really important how the two love interests have physical deformities/disabilities, a group of people we rarely see in love stories but SHOULD.
It’s emotional, it’s romantic, it’s full of lust and pining. It’s everything you want from a mafia romance.
‘I didn’t even know the girl. Yet, I felt an inexplicable affinity to her.’
It’s a must read! I highly recommend!

I read Beast in one day. I kept telling myself ok one more chapter then I’m going to stop. Next thing I know it’s 2 am and I’ve finished the book. What I enjoyed most about this story is that Adrik’s past was revealed in little pieces. It kept me reading. When the whole story of his childhood was revealed my heart hurt for him. Annika is such a treasure. I enjoyed her character a lot. She’s had her fair share of trauma but she’s strong. It was like their lives led them to each other. This was a good read worth the lack of sleep.

Beast (Popov Bratva #5)Beast by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Adrik was a lost and lonely child, broken by his father and having the determination that he will not be like him drives him to seek a better life, although that better life brings him in to the Popov Bratva.

Being in the folds he has viewed her from a far as he would never be able to get close to the Princess, which is Annika, but when her life is threatened, she requests the most unlikely bodyguard Adrik. Alone in the lake house will she see through the veil of ugliness and see the true heart of the Beast?

This is the fifth book in this series, and this is a heart-warming beautiful book. It can be read as a stand-alone story, but it would not hurt to read the series if not yet read. Adrik is such a strong character with a horrendous past but shows the determination to work to get better and the overall goal to be nothing like his father.

The chemistry between these two jumped off the page and the forbidden love angle adds the depth to the story as it goes along. I loved the twists and turns of the story and that the pasts intertwine to make the plot even more interesting. I loved how strong the female character Annika was and that it was not her nature to back down from anything. I could not put this book down and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Thief (Popov Bratva #4)Thief by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Bratva prince. The long lost daughter of a 1%-er MC president. Secrets. Revenge. Mistrust. Tension. Grief. Throw in a few country songs, blend on high! Instant ro-spense magic!!!

Dominic is bored. He has been living the Bratva life. It has not been as exciting since his twin left to be with his fiance. Dominic hasn’t even really found the company of women interesting. The one thing that brings any joy anymore is boosting cars. One night, he sets out to do just that. Except he gets more than he bargained for when he takes off in her car.

Leah is on hiatus from her singing career due to a scandal that caused her to take a step back. One night she is out looking for her wallet that she lost and when someone steals her car, she does the only logical thing she can think of, she jumps into the passenger side and pepper sprays the driver. This doesn’t stop him from stealing her car and only gets her kidnapped. This is just the beginning to the bad night Leah was having.

Dominic and Leah float around in the same circles for a while, trying to avoid each other due to the intense attraction felt by both. Until the friend thing doesn’t work. The hurt feelings and anger is just the tip of the iceberg for these two. Throw in a vengeful father, a crazy ex, more secrets, paparazzi, some ice and shake. Don’t stir.

Hot Dang!!! You never knew what was coming next. This book was fantastic!! If you haven’t started this series, don’t wait! Start here.

Beast (Popov Bratva #5)Beast by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I don’t know if a main character since the fairy tales days has been so misjudged simply on his looks. Adrik deserved so much better than his father and the people who mistreated him simply because of his looks. I am so happy Adrik found Annika.

Adrik had met with much misfortune in his life. At 8, he was disfigured by a dog. At 17, his father kicked him out of the house. At 19, Adrik found himself on the streets, homeless. Adrik figured out a plan and put it into motion. He joined the Popov Bratva and sought to make a better life for himself. Just as things were starting to turn around for him, tragedy struck and Adrik lost the people most important to him except for his Bratva brothers. Many years after working his way up through the ranks, Adrik is a trusted soldier. He gets a special assignment, to guard the boss’s daughter. The only problem is that Adrik has been crushing on her since joining the Bratva 8 years ago.

Annika is not like all the Bratva princesses. She is weird, quiet, and shy. Ever since recovering from a childhood trauma, Annika has liked playing her piano more than being with people. After a recent attempt on her life, Annika has been confined to a wheelchair. When Annika’s stalker reappears, she agrees to go into hiding but she wants to pick the guards. She picks Adrik and his partner. As Annika gets to know Adrik more, the more she knows that he is the one for her. But so much stands in their way.

When the stalker takes things to the next level, his identity is discovered. Adrik is haunted by this. Things come to a head when Annika is kidnapped and Adrik is left to the Bratva to be dealt with.

Let me say that I am a mafiosa at heart. I have not spent much time getting to know the Russian Bratva but if all are like the Popov Bratva, I will find room in my omerta’d heart for the brotherhood. Excellent story. Fantastic characters. Strong, sassy women!!! Just the right amount of heat. What is not to love? Not much!!!

This book is part of a series, but it works as a stand alone book. I have not read any of the other books yet, but I still enjoyed this one. The main characters are Adrik and Annika. Adrik has facial disfiguration from his childhood and hides his face. Annika requests that Adrik guard her, and they grow close during that time. The story was a little predictable about the mafia princess falling in love with her guard, but it was well written and enjoyable. The best part of the story was that both characters had trauma that they pushed through. I loved that they helped each other grow and overcome their trauma.

Beast (Popov Bratva #5)Beast by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is about Beast aka Adrik Volkov. He is nothing like his father who had double crossed the Russian Bratva.
Adrik was hoping for a place in the Bratva but in order to earn a spot he must fight Timofey.
Adrik was at the lowest of the low when he left home. He couldn’t stay any longer. He needed to get away, get settled and then go back and get his little brother.
He watched Annika from a far. Kept his face hidden from most. No one really knew what happened to his face. I loved his character. He had had such a rough life along with his little brother Damien but Adrik refuses to bow down to his dad and follow in his footsteps. He wants something better.
He becomes a trusted member in the Bratva after being with them for about a decade. He watched Annika grow from a weird young girl who was like an outcast, to a beautiful, young, talented woman. He knew he couldn’t get close to her because she’s a Bratva Princess and then she would see his face and run from his ugliness.
When Annika’s life is in danger, the two men she chooses to protect her at a safe house is Adrik and Timofey.
This book had some crazy suspense I didn’t see coming that’s for sure. I loved the friendships formed throughout the book. Annika was such a strong character even with her recent disability. She doesn’t back down from a challenge even when the odds are stacked against her.
Just loved this from beginning to end. The men in her family, every last one of them are amazing men. Definitely looking forward to another book from the author. Maybe Efrem will be next? Cannot wait. This was Definitely another 5 star read from this author.

Beast (Popov Bratva #5)Beast by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another explosive story from this author! I loved the story and the characters! This flows along at a great pace and I quickly read it in two sittings! The characters are resilient and not what I expected.

At first I was hesitant because Adrick is only a bodyguard and I wasn’t too interested in him. Boy was I wrong! His back/story is fascinating! The growth he had over his life is remarkable as he has faced many struggles and horrendous things. It is amazing he turned out like he has. I love that he had the secret crush! I still remember when I read the line anout how he had touched her for the first time…he was sooo excited or giddy. So refreshing! I could hear his thoughts in my head.

While I enjoyed Annika, her plight and her strength I was more empathetic to the beast and how everything would play out for him. I did like all of the family involvement into the storyline.

Overall this is an outstanding addition to the series. This is the fifth book in the series but can easily be read as a standalone. The author does a good quick job of artfully filling pasts where they need to be. I look forward to more!

So this is the first book I have read in this series. I don’t feel like I was missing anything. I do believe I will need to go read the first 4 books though! Adrik and Annika’s story is wonderful. It has everything you could want; suspense, twists and turns, love that sees past what is on the outside. Is their love enough though to see them through the traumas they have both endured in their lives?

I absolutely love a good Mafia story and I have to say this has got to be amongst the best I’ve read. It was an absolutely fantastic read – from beginning to end I was completely hooked. I think Adrik had my heart from the very beginning – with everything he went through as a child, my heart broke for him so many times. Annika was not what I was expecting at all from a Mafia Princess! I loved her character straight away. This story was so heart-warming – I loved the slow burn between Adrik and Annika, it was so perfect for them. I just absolutely adored them both!
I read this book as a standalone and it was also the first I had read by this author but I will absolutely be looking for more to read!!

Beast (Popov Bratva #5)Beast by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book 5 in the Popov Bratva series. And wow this series keeps getting better with every book. I have loved everyone. The author does an amazing job with the characters giving the reader and insight into a Mafia family while also making them realistic. This story is a romance but it is full of danger and heartbreak as well.

Adrik (Beast) has a past that has scared him in a physical way as well as emotional. His upbringing was hard and because of the scars on his face he is used to people staring at him. After his upbringing he joins the Bratva to find a purpose and something he didn’t expect to find, a family.

After working for the Bratva for a few years he meets a woman that takes his breath away Annika. However he is too scared he would scare her so he keeps his distance and doesn’t show his face.

Annika has had trauma in her past as well the most recent indecent was when she was attacked and stabbed by an unknown person. While she recovers she has seen Beast around and has felt a connection and an attraction she can’t explain.

When the stalker returns and threatens Annika’s life again she is told to leave for her own safety, taking just 2 guards for protection. When she chooses Beast she sees it as a chance to finally get to know this mysterious man while Beast is going to do everything in his power to protect her from danger but also from the shock of seeing his scares.

This book is full of romance but also a great deal of danger. Your heart bleeds for both Beast and Annika for the past they have had and for the things they are still going through and dealing with. Can two Wounded people heal each other? Or will Annika be repulsed like so many others by the scars left on Beast?

Beast is the fifth book in the Popov Bratva series by Leslie Georgeson. I love this series so much, and it just seems to get better with each new instalment. Book #5 has proven to be another feather in Ms. Georgeson’s cap- another fantastic Bratva romance- a bit of an intense and emotional romantic suspense with lots of action, dramatic developments, tension, danger, intrigue, secret crushes, forbidden romance, scarred MC, sweet fMC, heart-wrenching details, chemistry, sizzle, endearing & interesting characters, mafia politics, and violence.
I loved Adrik (Beast) when I first met him in the previous instalment, even though he was just a supporting character. I knew there was so much more to him than what we were shown/told, and I wanted to know ALL the details—- so I was thrilled to find he was getting his own book.
What an emotional and heart-wrenching story he has to tell, my heart ached for what he had gone through. He and Anika are so sweet together, but these two have harboured secret crushes for quite some time, and being his boss’s daughter, and a Bratva princess, theirs is a forbidden romance. So that definitely throws some angst and drama into the mix. Add in the stalker element, danger, and drama- and things take an intense turn. Ms. Georgeson doesn’t make things too easy for them, making them work for any happiness and their chance for a HEA.
I highly recommend this addictive series. Each book could be read as a standalone, but, like me, you will probably find that one book isn’t enough and will end up binge reading the entire series….

The series consists of:
-Freak (Book One) ….. Zeke and Mia’s story
-Snitch (Book Two) ….. Sacha and Willow’s story
-Thug (Book Three) ….. Lev and Siena’s story
-Thief (Book Four) ….. Dom and Leah’s story (Dom is Lev’s twin brother)
-Beast (Book Five) ….. Adrik and Annika’s story (due for release in Oct 2022)
-Punk (Book Six) ….. due to release in March 2023

Happy reading!

Thank you, Leslie Georgeson!

Beast (a secret crush Mafia romantic suspense) (Popov Bratva Book 5)

I was so excited the Adrik got his own story. I have only read Dominik’s story so far but there was something very endearing about Adrik. As soon as I saw this was coming I knew I had to read it ASAP and I have no regrets.

Adrick has quiet the interesting back story which only made me like him more. His determination to make something of himself was admirable.

Annika is not the typical Princess, so someone coming for her made no sense. She simply wants to live as simple of a life as possible.

I was on the edge of my seat as I turned pages and may have lost track of time reading when I should have been doing other things like working.

I need to slow like down a bit so I can go back and read the others before the next book is released.

Beast (Popov Bratva Book 5) by Leslie Georgeson – Review by Dawn Brown

Beast (Popov Bratva #5)Beast by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Adrik had a horrible childhood with some trauma that resulted in facial dis-figuration. After living on the streets as a teen, he finally gets up the courage to ask the Russian mafia for a job. After being hired, he fell in love with a mafia princess but he cannot get close to her or let her see his face.
Annika was attacked five months ago leaving her wheelchair bound. When the psycho came back for her, her mafia family sends her off to a secluded house in the middle of the night under watch. She requests Adrik be a guard. Once there, the two grow close but he must protect her at all cost and he is not suppose to get close to her.
Opinion
This is the fifth book in the series but the first one I’ve read. I found that I was able to follow the story quite easily, even though I haven’t read any other books in the series.
I’m a lover of mafia romances. This book is a lot less violent that other mafia books that I have read and would be perfect for those interested but squeamish.
The story is cute, mafia princess falls in love with a guard. I just found it odd that Adrik would not let Annika see his face and would cover it up with hair and a hoodie. If he is guarding her, he should be able to see all around them at all times. Covering your face up would not allow this. Other than this oversight, I think the book was a great and sweet love story.

Beast (Popov Bratva Book 5) by Leslie Georgeson – Review by Carlie Del Gallo

Beast (Popov Bratva #5)Beast by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 5th book in the series by Leslie Georgeson and I am still in awe. The way that this book was written to tell Adrik and Annika’s story was wonderfully done. The way that these characters interact, and their story unfolded was done in such a wonderful way that I found myself reading instead of working. Adrik underwent something horrific, just like Annika did and once they finally were able to share with one another what the other went through, it solidified their relationship and had them becoming closer to one another. There were lots of twists and turns in this book that had me unable to guess what was going to happen next. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series and find out what happens next!!
