So Close (Love Grows Series Book 4) by Renee Regent – Review by Juls Dick

So Close (Love Grows #4)So Close by Renee Regent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So Close is the 4th book in the Love Grows series by Renee Regent. The story follows single parent Dahlia, who has recently been promoted into her dream job role at the resort she works at and Levi, who has been hired to work with Dahlia on a time sensitive project. The only issue is that the pair already have a touchy history, from being best friends as children up until they became enemies 7 years ago. The pair had never admitted how they truly felt about each other. When they do finally reconnect, the question is will they be able to rebuild the trust that Dahlia feels was broken and will the other people in their lives let them succeed. This is an enjoyable contemporary romance, ideal for people who enjoy a second chance/friends to lovers’ romance. The characters are written well, and the author does a good job of immersing you in the scene.

This book is one of my top ten favorite reads of 2021! I found myself going through just about every single emotion that one could while reading it and it was beyond refreshing! I was just blown away with how well this book was written and done. I will say the enemies to lovers, friends etc thing is normally not my cup of tea because it is a trope I have just outplayed myself on. I read it so much growing up that I felt as if I had read it all and none of them were that good anymore. This one however really took the cake and just played all the cards so right that I was sucked in and completely fell in love with it all over again. I can’t say enough good things about this book, but I won’t divulge any goods either and spoil it so I will keep this review brief with them and tell you to run and buy the whole series. All of them. This is book four of Renee Regents Love Grows Series and I have read them all so I wasn’t lost at all, and I wouldn’t imagine if you hadn’t read them all you would have issues but I would suggest reading them anyway because they are all good too! This one just happens to be my favorite. Dahlia and Levi will rip you apart, make you mad, like scream at your kindle and get weird looks from your family mad, and then they will slowly put you back together again and make you fall in love with love again. What more could you want in a romance novel? Go one-click today!

This is a great contemporary romance read and my first from Author Renee Regent but will definitely not be my last. Dahlia and Levi grew up together and were best friends. After a falling out, Dahlia felt betrayed by Levi and has not spoken to him in years. After Dahlia receives a promotion at work, her boss has Dahlia work with a contractor to get ready for a big party, and that contractor ends up being Levi. Growing up, Levi and Dahlia had a crush on each other but their feelings were never revealed. When Dahlia and Levi start working together, at first, it had to stay strictly professional. Dahlia was still hurt and angry from the past betrayal she felt with Levi. After working together for a few weeks, slowly the walls come down and Levi and Dahlia go from best friends to lovers. This story is fantastic and I truly enjoyed each character. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

So Close is the fourth book in the Love Grows series by Renee Regent. This is a best friends to enemies to lovers romance that will pull you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the end. I absolutely loved reading this book so much I read in one day. Dahlia and Levi were once best friends but after one horrible night it’s been seven years and now she finds herself working with him on a project. Levi knows he messed up and just wants to explain but she wont have. She’s trying to keep her distance and he’s trying to close it. Can she trust him? Can they get their chance at more than being ex best friends? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

So Close (Love Grows #4)So Close by Renee Regent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So I kind of read So Close by Renee Regent and the rest of the Love Grows Series in an unorthodox way. Not in order and all over the place! I encourage you to read all of them, however you don’t have to read them in order!
This story in particular is about Dahlia(who we meet in book #1), a woman who has worked hard to be where she is today, but also has been broken by her ex-husband Trey and her ex-bestfriend Levi. She cut Levi out of her life that is until she became general manager of Riverbank Lodge. Dahlia and Levi were tasked to spear-head a project, to reinvent the patio/clubhouse area in 6 weeks time to celebrate Riverbank Lodges 5 year anniversary. With betrayal come animosity that Dahlia has to learn to put behind her to see this project to success. Along the way Levi starts to break her exterior of hatred she’s had towards him the last 7 years.
Are you someone who likes a story of overcoming obstacles in life for true love? If so, then this book is ABSOLUTELY for you!
A gripping novel loaded with cheating, passion, and betrayal will keep you turning pages to find out what happens for Dahlia? What Happens with Levi? Where does the ex-husband Trey fall into all of this? Does Dahlia drop her walls for a chance at forever love?
Renee Regent doesn’t disappoint with another story that keeps you wanting more! To have those questions above answered as well as others you may have, you need to dig in and read it till the end. Possibly in one sitting!

It’s been a while since I read a book by this author so I was really excited to pick her newest release and I wasn’t disappointed. I love a friends to lovers story, I like to see how the relationship progresses and it always feel mor genuine and realistic as well. I liked that this book wasn’t just friends to lovers there was the enemies bit thrown in too. I love Ms Regents writing it’s a pleasure to read, the pace and flow are always good. Dahlia and Levi’s relationship has definitely had its ups and downs but I could feel this genuine connection between them. I really enjoyed reading their story. Although it’s the fourth book in this series it can easily be read as a standalone which is what I did – I definitely would like to read the others too.
I would certainly recommend So Close to other readers.

This is the fourth book in this series which I enjoyed just as much as the first book I read. This is an author that I have enjoyed from the first book that I picked up. She writes with a lot of heart and her attention to details give the story a realistic feel. This book is no different. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning by the characters. They are connectable and made the story easy and fun to read. I had a hard time putting this book down. This is a story about a couple that were best friends then over one situation they become enemies but is it possible that they could become more to each other? Will they forgive, learn to trust to find a happily ever after? I enjoyed watching the growth and chemistry between Dahlia and Levi. They truly made the story for me. I really enjoyed what they brought to the story. This is worth the pick up and I highly recommend it.

So Close by Renee Regent is book four of the Love Grows series. This is a best friends to enemies to lovers romance and I loved every minute of it!

Dahlia worked so hard to get promoted to general manager so she’s not going to do anything to risk that. So when her first big project requires she work closely with her ex-best friend, she has to work hard for patience. Working so close with Levi is a dangerous game, the more time they spend together but she’s determined to keep him at arms length. Levi knows he messed up but he just needs a chance to explain. Working with Dahlia every day is a special kind of torture. He wants to break through the wall she built to protect herself but it’s not as easy as it would seem. Will Dahlia let her guard down and trust Levi again or are the destined to be ex-best friends?

I really enjoyed this book. Levi is determined but Dahlia is strong and independent. These characters meshed very well together and I enjoyed their chemistry!

I related to the strong female lead in this story, tenfold. Dahlia is a young, single mother to her newly seven-year-old son, Beckett, who must deal with the stress of co-parenting with her uncooperative ex-husband, Trey. Co-parenting is never easy, and especially when you have different parenting styles. This story not only revolves around the love that develops between Dahlia and Trey, but also the issues and real-world problems that arise from being a parent.

This story revolves around Dahlia, her son Beckett, her ex-husband Trey, and her ex-best friend, Levi, with whom she’s been estranged from for the past 7 years. Rene Regent does a phenomenal job at keeping the reader interested, from the very first chapter. Not only are you captured and pulled in by the possibility of a friendship turned relationship, but also the fact that being a parent truly is a full-time job, no matter what parenting style you may choose. I personally, wasn’t setting this book down until my curiosity was satisfied.

I love the way the story follows the characters around and gives you snippets into each of their personalities and the way they are involved in the story. Beckett is a very strong headed, amazing little man that reminds me of my own daughter, which made it that much more relatable. Adventuresome, honest little children are my favorite! I will be reading more by Ms. Regent, and so very glad I picked up this novel. It was everything I hoped that it would be, from reading the synopsis, and her writing style is just addictive. I cannot wait to read more of her work. Thank you, Renee!

This was an enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance with a friends to lovers storyline but with a twist. I was hooked from start to finish by this heartwarming romance which had plenty of drama in the plot along with the romance to keep me happily turning the pages. Dahlia And Levi were best friends as children and even though Dahlia had a teenage crush on Levi they remained friends until they became enemies. Now after seven years the pair are reunited by a work project and although Dahlia is determined to keep it professional, Levi has other ideas. Levi never meant to hurt Dahlia, after all she’s the only woman he’s ever loved and now they have met up again he’s determined to win back her trust and become more than just friends. I was fully immersed in this story and found both main characters to be likeable and relatable and I enjoyed seeing how their relationship changed and developed through the years. Although book four in the ‘Love Grows Series’ it can be read as a standalone story, however I have enjoyed each novel in this series and recommend them all as great reads.

This is a fantastic friends to enemies to lovers story- with plenty of drama, angst, and chemistry to keep things very interesting.
Dahlia and Levi had been the best of friends, until heartbreak tore them apart. With pain and trust issues marring what used to be. But now they are thrust together again- things are about to take an even more interesting turn. A story all about second chances and finding love unexpectedly.

Thank you, Renee Regent!

So Close (Love Grows #4)So Close by Renee Regent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was my first read by this very wonderful author, and most certainly it shall not be my last. This was the 4th novel they had written in the series. I simply loved the two characters the story focused upon. It had a lot of feeling and a lot of emotion along with it. And to me, if you can feel that, you know its a good book!

The story is told through time and time gaps of the friendship and love that was growing and lost and found again between the characters Dahlia and Levi. In their childhood they were basically the best friends that would always be. At least so they thought. They were each others back and even as children they knew the friendship they had would always be needed and special always and forever.

As the story first opened they were two grown adults. Time and something had happened that separated and ruined everything they had or could have had within testing the strength the bonds of friendship and maybe even true love. Personally for Dahlia she is quite happy with life and doesn’t need a curve ball to change the course of how things are going for her, Dahlia is done and over from the years that they no longer spoke and she wants nothing more than to ever hear his name again. Perhaps you cant avoid destiny? They meet again and probably in the most worst way at the time. They have to work together and basically spend a lot of one on one time together.

Yes things were weird for these two very much, but you honestly could feel their feelings for one another leaping off the pages and truly they loved one another even though there was pain and resentment mixed into the pot. I kept asking myself what happened? What made them lose everything they had? Was Levi at fault, as it truly was the way it seemed?

They spend more time together. Let me say the drama and hurt was strong feeling between these two souls, but I must say love can be the strongest thing of all if you let it. The truth comes out with what happened between them, and it was not what I expected. Then, everything made sense and a lot of things come together and into place, and even hearts that were never meant to leave one another’s side.

Things happen quickly to sum up towards the end of the book. I personally saw this as a romantic movie. The main couple solves the problems and drama that kept them apart and both realize what they wanted all along was one another and they pushed one another away out of hurt and drama. And then like a moment that froze still in time and the rest of the world fast forwarded around them, they found what they always knew what they wanted, and never got, and that was the love of one another and being together. And truly this time they both knew no doubts, forever was in their cards, as well as their hearts.

I really enjoyed reading this love story between Dahlia and Levi. It kept me interested in what happened that ruined everything. And even after the truth came out everything made sense and everything came together like a perfect masterpiece. Love isn’t easy. It isn’t for most. Sometimes you have to go through hard times to really show your love is worth it. And that is exactly what these two souls did

I recommend this book truly. I think the story itself was appealing plus I enjoyed reading about Dahlia and Levi’s backstory of times they shared together. The story was very sweet and enjoyable. I had a good experience reading this book and will read more. And I look forward to that! Pick it up and read this book, its one I can honestly say you will enjoy it as much as I did truly.

As with the other books in the series the story will find its way into your heart. This captivating tale is raw and has a real feel to the storyline. I really enjoyed this story. Its got a slight twist on a friends to lovers story because inbetween our couple goes from friends to enemies. The author does an amazing job with her characters that you can’t help falling in love with the pair of them. You can feel all the emotion and affection between them.

Levi and Dehlia were best friends. Always there for each other. Both had romantic feelings for the other but nothing came of it. Their friendship was really special until an event involving Dehlia’s ex husband torn them apart.
Levi never got to explain his side of events and because of that Dehlia cut him off completely.

Now years later they are forced to work together on a project for Dehlia’s work. Dehlia is guarded and trying to protect herself and her heart but she can’t deny the feelings still run strong. Levi has never stopped loving her and is now making it his mission to prove to her how right they are for each other.

After so many heartbreaks can Dehlia let anyone in again? Will Levi be able to regain the trust he had with Dehlia or is the pain still to much for them both to heal.

They had everything going for them – chemistry, history, drama. I just thought they were so enjoyable to read about.

So Close: A Best Friends To Enemies to Lovers Romance is book four in the Love Grows series by Renee Regent. As far as friends to lovers stories go, this one ranked very high. Also add in the enemies drama, which made this book almost impossible to put down. The interaction between characters was seamless and even though there were many battles, the connection was undeniable and the chemistry was incredibly steamy. The heartbreak was brutal and the sense of betrayal palpable. Dahlia and Levi were a couple that should never have been. Their history was marred with tears and a lack of trust, but they fought their demons and won. Their strength was admirable and the willingness to eventually forgive provided a gripping and seductively structured masterpiece. I truly felt every struggle this couple battled through. Their ending was hard fought and so very passionate. In my eyes, a near perfect story. Stunning in its complexity, beautiful in it’s conclusion. This one will definitely be worth many re-reads. 5 stars.

Dahlia and Levi are childhood buddies that grew up together and were best friends until she experienced the ultimate betrayal from her ex-husband and her ex-best friend. And until she gets the general manager position at the resort, life has been good. Now she must work with the contractor to plan a 6-wk renovation. The contractor is none other than Levi. She must deal with her feelings as they work on this project. She learns the real reason that he did what he did. She also has to deal with her son’s behavior and an ex-husband who is an overgrown child. Dahlia is a strong woman who has a stubborn streak a mile long. She puts up with a lot and she comes through many challenges with a lot of strength. Levi has always been in love with her so he’ll wait while she works things out. This book is fantastic. I love how the main character is a divorced single mom. It shows that she can find romance again but it also shows the struggles also. It also showed a little of the struggle kids of divorce go through. Supporting characters were great, even Tara with her whiny bratness, just blending into the background. The description sounds heavenly. That’s a resort I would love to visit. Highly recommend.

Not So Far (Love Grows series Book 3) by Renee Regent

I really wanted to savor this book and and tried to read it a bit slower than I normally do. There was something about Audrey and her life that called to me and I felt a connection. We really don’t have much in common and I haven’t been able to figure it out.

Silas made his mistakes but when he finds himself back home after almost twenty years he decides to meet up with someone from his past. He has no idea what to expect, but what he does find out is beyond even a wild thought.

I really liked the way Audrey and Silas were together, could have been their age or the fact that they have learned how precious everything is.

I hope to see more of this series. I have really enjoyed each of the books and hope to enjoy more.

Second chance romances are my favorite and this was no exception. Audrey and Silas had a crazy summer and then Silas left abruptly and Audrey was heart broken. 18 years later and Silas is back in town for a funeral and decides to try and find her again.
While I understand it’s a book and an escape from reality, this just happened WAY too fast especially with kids involved. That honestly is my only negative take away from this. Answers are finally given for all of the past they couldn’t say back then and it ends beautifully.

Not So Far is the 3rd book in the Love Grows series by Renee Regent. I have read the other 2 books before this and they were great. This book did not disappoint. The story follows Silas and Audrey, two people who dated one summer in high school, and haven’t spoken for 18 years. Fate seems to have brought them back together, but they both need to own up to their secrets, in order to move on. Fate can be a tricky thing, but so can love. Is it time to lay everything on the table and see where they stand? He split town without so much as a warning. How will things unfold? Read to find out. This could be a stand alone, but I highly recommend all 3 in order.

Not So Far is the 3rd book in the Love Grows series by Renee Regent. It is the first book I read in the series, and the first by this author. It can be read as a stand alone, and I enjoyed it. It is predictable, but I still enjoyed reading it and would like to go back and read book 1 and 2.

Not So Far is the 3rd book in the Love Grows Series by Renee Regent. I had read, and loved, the first 2 books in the series and was looking forward to reading another. Not So Wrong is a great second chance romance with characters that you can’t help but fall in love with.
Audrey Colebank is a recently widowed mother of 3 with a huge secret eating away at her. Silas was the love of her life as a teenager and she was devastated when he left and has never forgiven him. Silas has returned to town after the death of his grandfather and his arrival throws Audrey into turmoil. She hates Silas for what he did to her but her body can’t help but still be attracted to him. Silas also has a huge secret of his own as to why he left.
Will either of them divulge the huge secrets that would cause even more turmoil to the other? Can Silas win back Audrey, the love of his life? Can Audrey put the past behind her and make a future with Silas? I’m not going to answer any of these questions. I urge you to read this great book and get the answers for yourself.
This is a great second chance romance that will pull at your heartstrings and drag you through a range of emotions. 100% recommend.

Not So Far is the third book in the love grows series by Renee Regent and I have loved all three books. The characters are well written and strong minded. I just love their quirkiness that the characters share.

Audrey and Silas where teenage lovers for a summer. She thought they had true love, but he left and she doesn’t know why. Now he is back in town and her feelings are just as strong but there is so much water under the bridge, so much anger, so much pain, so much lost, so many secrets.

Silas wants to tell Audrey why he left but he can’t. Will she believe him when he comes clean? Will Audrey tell Silas her secrets? Will Silas forgive Audrey for her secrets?

I enjoyed this standalone story in Renee Regent’s ‘Love Grows’ series, it is a lovely second chance at love story. Silas and Audrey were young when they first fell in love and came from very different backgrounds when Silas just disappeared they were both left heartbroken. When fate brings Silas back to Atlanta, Georgia he is determined to have a second chance at love with Audrey, the only girl he has ever loved. However telling Audrey why he left will devastate her and Silas is not the only one with a secret. I loved the two main characters and the attraction between them was obvious as was the hurt and distrust. I found this an enjoyable read and although this is the first book I’ve read by Renee Regent it will not be the last.

Not So Far (Love Grows series, Book 3)Not So Far by Renee Regent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What happens when your life is finally on track and then a blast from the past who you truly loved comes back into your life to threaten everything, well that’s the dilemma Audrey has when Silas comes back into her life to see if the love they had years ago still there.

Audrey has never really forgotten about her first love Silas but when he up and left she was heartbroken but when a chance meeting again threatens to stir all those emotion back up but does she want to go back and put her heart on the line to have it broken all over again.

Silas has thought about the love he lost all those years ago and going back to Atalanta seems the best option to try and re-kindle the love he felt with Audrey but will a secret from his past throw that relationship out of the water or will she be able to forgive him and have want they should have always deserved all those years ago.

I really enjoyed this story, it was full of emotion and a beautiful woven story, I have not read the other two books and felt although the book flowed I would have been better getting more information from the two stories before but that did not deflect from this book, I am greedy and wanted to know more about other characters and Silas and Audrey.

The characters were well developed, you were taken into the story and held all through. The female lead Audrey was sassy and independent, Silas was a great counter to this wonderful female character. I recommend this book and this wonderful story but I would try to read the first two books first just to give some background. I certainly will be reading them shortly.

In an effort to regain the love of his life, Silas must return to Atlanta, Georgia to pick up where he left off with a lover turned enemy, Audrey Colebank. She’s never forgave him for ghosting her years ago. Silas is withholding a secret that someone close to her ran him off in the first place but he doesn’t want to risk hurting Audrey all over again. Silas’ fire still burns deep for Audrey and he can’t extinguish it but the real question is whether or not to rekindle the flame or let it die down by leaving well enough alone.
Audrey has finally created the life she’s always wanted except life threw her a curve ball, the man she once loved: Silas Vance. The same flame he holds for her, she holds for him but she also holds a secret dear to her heart without losing him again. They’re drawn to one another the closer they are in proximity to one another. Will their worlds collide and they face their demons head on?
This is a beautiful read as you can’t help but want these characters to get it together and face their fears to let love win, secrets and all. This is a pleasant read that’s original and entertaining, steamy and romantic. Pick it up and invest in a great story!

Not So Far (Love Grows series, Book 3)Not So Far by Renee Regent

This is a powerful love story that made me laugh and cry.

Silas and Audrey were young when they fell in love. Audrey is from a rich family and her relationship with Silas was frowned on from the beginning. However they loved each other and both thought they would be together forever, but that wasnt the case. An incident that Silas was involved in left him with a tough choice. Leave the woman he loves or ruin both of there lives. So Silas leaves, leaving behind a heartbroken Audrey but that’s not all.

Fast forward years later and while Silas is sorting out the sale of his grandpa’s house he reconnect with Audrey. The connection is strong between them but can Audrey learn to forgive the past. And will secrets that they have both been keeping bring them closer together or tear them apart.
