I adore the movie Somewhere in Time and I also love this author, so when I saw the blurb of this novel I knew I had to read it. And it lived up to my expectations. The story is romantic and the characters are full of chemistry, and although it’s cliche, it’s still suspenseful and very sweet. The author really takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster, and there are lots of details that made this a wonderful read. I read the next in the series straight after!

Love’s Refrain is the first book in the Stardust Duet. It’s a romantic story that follows a couple, Phillip and Kat, who seem destined to be together despite being born several decades apart. It’s an enchanting story, set in a historic theatre and with music running through the story. The magical time travel elements of the story are nuanced enough that it does not feel like a huge departure from reality. The focus is more on representing the two times – present day and 1947 – and the connection between Phillip and Kat that reaches across the gap. I particularly like the vivid descriptions of things like the theatre, clothes and music. It really draws me into the story! Kat is very glamorous and has a taste for vintage clothing, which features prominently throughout the book, and I loved exploring the theatre with her and discovering its secrets! This is a two-part series, and the second book (Love’s Reverie) is also available. I barely paused for breath before moving on to it! I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. The second book fully concludes the story, so it is a satisfying, complete series. This book gets five stars from me. I really enjoyed it! I would recommend it to fans of Audrey Niffenegger and Cecelia Ahern.

This was an incredibly sweet story of love, music, and time travel. I really loved how the author mixed the old with the new. When Swinging on a Star was mentioned, I was overjoyed as that was a favorite song of my grandmother, and it still pops in my head randomly. Overall, I am really glad I read this book. It was a sweet, easy read.

Growing up, my mother loved Somewhere in Time and we watched it many times. This book gave me all the same feelings and emotions even though it is very different. The story of Katherine and Phillip is moving and beautiful. It is a love story that crosses time itself. I can’t wait to read the next part of the story.

The Love in this series is absolutely stargazing! Kat Monroe is a beautiful jazz singer who loves putting vintage in her life. Little did she know a vintage gift given by an elderly man who looked familiar leaved her in a time travel romance. The love they have for each other is amazing! I lived each adventure, the drama with exes, and the relationships. Can’t wait to read the 2nd book in this series!

In Love’s Refrain, our main character Katherine is achieving her goal of going on tour with her musical group and returns home for two weekends of shows. A story of love, time, and hard work follows in Love Refrains and while I was at first uncomfortable with the time travel aspect because the main love interest is technically in love with Katherine when she is born, I quickly overcame this as he spends his time actively avoiding her and the family while she is growing up. The inclusion of the song they create together is touching and a wonderful moment for them both to have while they are not together. K.G. Fletcher’s writing style is very sweet and romantic as well as fitting for the scenes portrayed in the story. You can feel the sweeping lights on the stage and the glittering jewels of the performers shining in the spotlight. Absolutely cannot wait for the continuation, hopefully, of the story.

This is not my typical genre when it comes to books, but K.G. Fletcher delivered an amazing book! It took a little while for me to get into the book, but when I did, I couldn’t put it down. I was intrigued by the love and connection that spans life, time, and death. Fletcher does a great job of describing the main characters, Kat and Phillip, as well as the setting for their story, Whitley, Georgia. I have not read any of K.G. Fletcher’s other novels but can’t wait to read more, especially the second book of this series. This is a great read for fans of pure, clean romance, no toxicity, no violence, just pure connection.

I am a big fan of KG Fletcher, so I did not even read the description to this book before I started reading it. At first I was a little confused as to what was happening, and thrown off. Most of her books are a love story through and through, and this didn’t have that feel in the beginning. That soon changed, and it was a cute story! Both Kat and Phillip’s characters are loveable. Fletcher did a good job describing the 1940s, allowing me to envision the era- the way he dressed, the emergence of movies, the cars, etc. Time travel always throws me off, and confuses me. This book was well written though, and it while it jumped back and forth, it was clear which era we were reading about. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, and am so glad the release dates are only a month or two apart, not years! Overall a very sweet romance story (with one steamy chapter), and anxiously awaiting Love’s Reverie.

I LOVE a good time travel novel. It has been a while since I picked one up because the last series that I read was excellent, and I was worried that any other ones wouldn’t measure up. LET ME TELL YOU HOW WRONG I WAS. I loved everything about this story. We meet Kat Monroe, who is a jazz singer in the present day. When she goes back to her hometown to perform during her tour, she sees a photograph on the wall of her dressing room from 1947 of a man that completely captures her attention and her heart at one glance. Why is he so familiar? Meet Philip. Heartthrob from the photograph and the one who has her full attention so many years in the future. After meeting him in the present day and receiving a locket with a mysterious note inside, she finds the portal and is transported to the past, where she meets him yet again – as the handsome man from the photograph. When she returns, she is left with missing pieces as to what happened in their past. Her ex-boyfriend and current piano accompanist, Spencer, is jealous, stubborn, and downright cringe. Will he let her move on so that she can fix the past and change the future? KG Fletcher did a fantastic job creating the characters, ensuring the dialogue fit the right era, and adding the correct music for the period. It felt natural and transported me to 1947 Georgia and back again with the right combination of words. I am looking forward to reading the next installment of this series and will be looking for more from this author in the future. If you love a romantic time travel novel without the same boring, repetitive storylines, pick this up and don’t put it down until you’re finished! You won’t regret it!

Love’s Refrain: A Time Travel Romance is the first book in The Stardust Duet series by K.G. Fletcher.
I am already a fan of this author and was not disappointed with this book. This truly is a love story. When reading the description I was a little apprehensive with regards to the time travel aspect, but I ended up loving this part. It added so much depth to both the story and the characters. I enjoyed both the past and present-day parts of the story, but I found myself especially looking forward to the parts where we were transported back to 1947.
This story was magical and I was hooked from the start. It’s the type of story that you find yourself thinking about even when you’re not reading it. The descriptive writing style is fantastic, I love it when the author takes time to set the scene so I can immerse myself properly in the story, and that is definitely the case here.

If you love Nicholas sparks you are not going to want to miss this. Set in Whitley, Georgia the descriptions of the town scream out southern sweet romance. It may have been the October air here in my own hometown but I just snuggled up with a blanket and my kindle and time-traveled to and from present-day and 1947 and I didn’t want to come back to 2021. Katherine and Philip were destined to be together and nothing was going to stop them. The book alone is an incredible read and I already have the 2nd book in my Amazon cart just waiting to buy it the day it comes out! If you adore classic romance mixes with time travel you are in for a real treat.

First of all, the author immediate reels me in with the premise, recalling a beloved classic and its epic soundtrack “Somewhere in Time”. Sometimes you leave a book or movie that is based off something well known and cherished feeling a little let down. KG Fletcher DID NOT disappoint. Kat and Phillip – oh my word I love them. This book is haunting and beautiful and plays like a beautiful melody in my mind. I don’t know that my heart will survive the wait for the end of this duet. But all I know is that my heart is singing along with this beautiful tune. Give me more of that stardust melody while I go hum about the purple dusk of twilight time…

A beautiful love that even time can’t come between. My heart was breaking for Phillip through so much of this story, knowing just how many years he waited and searched for the love of his life. When he finally reconnected with Katherine, the magic between them was electric, even with the passage of so much time. This was my first time reading a story about time travel and this was written so beautifully that I found myself invested from the very first page. My heart was in my throat the entire time, just waiting to see what would happen with Phillip and Kat. I’m counting down the days until I can read part two of their amazing journey.

“No one could ever comprehend the love Kat and Phillip shared. Theirs was a love that crossed a chasm of time and space into the future. And it was in that future their song would never die.” I think that quote sums up a lot about this book. I had a hard time getting into Loves Refrain at first but I’m so glad I was able to persevere because after the first couple chapters I was hooked. Although I did find the “modern” storyline to be a bit off putting. I’m not sure if it was because of Kat and the older Phillip or the outrageous, jealous, mess that was Spencer. I really did love the story line of Kat and Phillip once she went back in time. Their love was so strong they were able to overcome the obstacles of time and find a way to be together. Overall this is a lovely, light, romantic read that I enjoyed. I will definitely be picking up book number two when it’s released to see where the author takes these two.

What a unique and timeless romance that exists between the covers of this book. Such and amazing tale of passion, mystery, true love and that desire we all feel. I loved Kat. She is a true heroine and I really think her strong determination and amazing talent are wonderful but it is really her heart that makes this story so great. Phillip was described so well you get to know him down to his dimples. This novel kept me turning pages from the moment I read it until I finished it. I really enjoyed how detailed the story is and I love that it just pulls you in. I honestly can not wait for book two!

There’s just something about time travel in a love story that makes it even more romantic. Every time I stumble across one I can’t pass it up, and I’m so happy I found this one! K.G. Fletcher did time travel in a unique way that felt new and exciting for me. I had no idea how it was going to work in the beginning, and was confused when Phillip had his first POV. But man, once the story really took off I was hooked! I loved the characters, especially Kat. I loved how well written it was with the music and time differences. Seriously, beautiful story. It’s original, entertaining, enthralling, romantic and a page-turner. I enjoyed this novel immensely. I appreciated that Kat had the chance to meet past and present versions of Phillip; it just added an extra layer to this novel. I’m excited to see what the future holds for these two, to experience a love that transcends through time. I mean, please don’t keep reading my ramblings…Check out Love’s Refrain- I can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed.

Love’s Refrain by K.G.Fletcher is a a romance that does not know the bounds of time. It takes place in both 1947 and the present time. I could not wait to get to the end to find out if Kay and Phillip would find one another forever. I will definitely be reading book 2 to find out where their story continues. The book has characters I loved and a character I could not stand K.G. made these characters come to life for me.

This is a beautifully written tale of a love story through time. Katherine is a great character, a strong woman and musician who follows the beat of her own drummer. When she suddenly falls back through time to meet Phillip, the attraction they feel is instant and consuming. But how can they be together when they live decades apart? Kat and Phillip are wonderfully drawn characters, and their story is mesmerizing. The book is easy to follow and enjoyable to read. In the first part of the book, I found there were sections that were a bit slow for me, but once I got into it, I read it straight through til the end. I will be looking out for book 2!

This book is absolutely amazing. I was swept away to a timeless feel of love story romance that made me want to watch all my favorite old movies again when this book was done. It just exudes that nostalgia and that is just the world building and the character presence yall. The love story will blow your mind. These two, Phillip and Kat, will make you want to be them, or find a love like theirs or hope your love is like theirs. I am so excited to get my hands on book two and will be waiting for it like its rare gold. I wouldn’t wait to run and grab your copy now!

Katherine “Kat” Moore is a jazz singer and performer, returning to her home town in Georgia for the last lag of her tour. Backstage, she meets octogenarian Philip Gordon, who hands her a locket that he claims belongs to her with a message, urging Kat to “come back” to him. Confused, Kat tries to find meaning in the locket, brushing it off as the actions of a confused old man. But when she discovers a strange portal in the theatre, Kat soon winds up in 1947, and meets the young and handsome Philip Gordon face-to-face. Kat and Philip fall in love and desperately wish to be together but it seems impossible. Kat travels between 1947 and her own time, trying to find a way to be together with the love of her life.
K.G. Fletcher is a musician and author, and her love of music and performing is evident in this novel. Kat and Philip bond over music, connect over lyrics, and fall in love to song. Inspired by songs from different eras, Fletcher creates a musical backdrop to her time traveling romance.
I had a difficult time adapting to Kat’s relationship with elderly Philip. Although it was obviously chaste, the way Katherine described her love for him was off-putting (even though she meant the younger version), and their modern-time connection was fraught with disturbing disbelief. I don’t know what could have changed to allow me to accept Kat and elderly Phillip as a burgeoning couple from the past but the set up was awkward and uncomfortable.
The conversations between the characters was a bit stilted and in a few places it seemed forced, merely contrived to convey some background information that the reader would not otherwise know about. This often put unnecessary breaks in the story flow, dampening my enjoyment.
This is the first novel in a series by K.G. Fletcher, and I can see it garnering popularity with a certain crowd of readers. The romance was hot and heavy in this one, and fans who prefer their reading steamy and romantic will adore “Love’s Refrain”. I can see comparisons being drawn with “Outlander” and even “The Time Traveler’s Wife”, although the ages of the main male characters in those stories were well within a decade of their female love interest.
Fletcher’s creativity with the portal, and the musical component, added a unique flair to the plot. I was annoyed by how often Kat was called “doll face” or “doll” (in 1947) and “honey” and “sweetie” (in modern day), but the excessive condescension was appropriate to the time and situation.
“Love’s Refrain” is a light, romantic read for fans of time travel love stories. Kat and young Philip will immediately charm, and there is no doubt readers will be rooting for them. It will be interesting to see what the second novel in the series holds.

Kat Monroe is forced to choose between 1947 and present day. The love of her life, or an elderly fan she’s grown close to. She fits so well between both worlds, its heart breaking to follow her through her story. Her crazy story of time travel between then and now, who she will love, and where she will be. I loved the way the author draws you into Kat’s world, as well as Phillip’s. You feel everything they go through.

My whole life, I’ve imagined what it would be like to time travel. As someone about to turn 27, I really wish it was possible, as this is the age that Katherine Monroe’s life changes and this novel comes to be.
One of the best books that I’ve read so far this year, Love’s Refrain by K.G. Fletcher is the first book in the Stardust series written so eloquently it was near impossible for me to put it down. Katherine Monroe and Phillip Gordon meet in an expected way, and throughout the book the reader keeps wondering what the fate of their romance will be.
The chemistry between the two star-crossed lovers is tangible, and with every passing paragraph the reader becomes more invested in their unusual romance. This tale of time travel and a love of music between two lovers makes it even more unique. A touch of jealousy from an old ex also brings a hint of suspense to the novel, leading the reader to wonder if he will come between the two lovers or if their love will prevail. Can’t wait to see what is in store in future books in the series!

Love’s Refrain (The Stardust Duet, Book 1) by K.G. Fletcher – Review by Jeannie Anderson
Love’s Refrain takes the reader on a mesmerizing and breathtaking journey. It is truly an epic love story. The love between Katherine and Philip is genuine and sweet. I adore that the book is told from both Katherine and Philip’s perspective. The story is flawless and flows easily between the present and 1947. Each character is so richly developed that you can almost hear Katherine singing or Phillip playing the piano. This was truly delightful to read. I cannot wait to devour the rest of Katherine and Philip’s love story in Love’s Reverie.

Love’s Refrain (The Stardust Duet – Book 1) By: KG Fletcher Pages:267 Genre: Romance
I have never read a book so fast! If you love love and time travel this is for you. A tale of love, time and death, is time enough? A true story that love conquers all. What would you do if you were transported back in time. In 1947 the female lead goes on a journey that will have you wanting to skip to the end, I almost read the last chapters first because I was captive after the first page. KG Fletcher has a way with words describing the story in a ay that makes you feel as if you are a character right there on the page living scene to scene. Five stars and I cannot wait until book two. I hope I get time to read this again soon.
