WOW! WOW! WOW!!! This is Stefano and Emiliana’s story. Put together by this amazing author. This being the third book in this series. Just goes to say she has so much more to offer. But! Before you start this one, make sure to read the first two. Here is a Mafia Romance that should not take place. But the heart wants what it wants. I found myself intrigued by this book. I could not turn the pages fast enough. It’s filled with Romance, Suspense, Action and even Mafia politics. Your heart will be broken and healed in one book. The characters are strong and play along with the author’s mind. Emiliana is a strong woman, and nothing can stop her. Stefano knows what he needs to get done. So if I stop here you get no spoilers. I just think you should give this series and this author a go. You won’t be disappointed. Now I have to wait for the next in this series.

Not many books keep me awake wantimg to finish but I could not go to bed until I finished the book. Another fantastic installment in this series. The book follows Emiliana and Stefano as they navigate their growing feelings while trying to protect the people they love. I don’t know how this series continues to create such strong emotions with each turn of the page. I found myself growing to love each character more and more. The shock at the end just made the book all that much better. I cannot wait to continue reading the next installment in the series.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Another outstanding story in this series! I was glued/hooked into this one until the last page! I am please in how this series is playing out. Its mafia to the core! Dies it have soft moments? Of course but when the boys or the girls become offended or ticked off?? Wait for the fallout and see who is left standing!
Stefano and Em were both characters I was waiting to find out more about. Each has had a…lets say difficult…time in the past years. Then to see how they *feel* for each other. I LOVEd it! Especially when the others get involved.
Overall another smash by this author. I would recommend reading them in order for the best understanding of whats going on. I can’t wait for more! Jan 2022….hurry please

Unequivocally brilliant Alpha mafia men and strong resilient women make this a winning series. This book is filled with romance, action, drama and suspense with strong family ties bringing it all together. Each book gets better and better. We finally get behind the scenes with Stefano and Emiliana in this book and I was not prepared for how ruthless Stefano could be. Took my breath away. This can be read on its own but reading the first two books will help you to really understand and appreciate the story so much more. Highly recommended series.

I would highly suggest you start at book one and work your way through. The series is dark and covers topics that may make the faint of heart squirm. However, the way the story is written is fabulous and intriguing. The author has a back and forth between past and present day where the characters are remembering what had happened. This, above all else, shows the steady interest of Emiliana and Stefano to each other. I highly recommend this book.

Stefano Rossi is the Underboss of the Rossi family, his has been a life of darkness from the start and his father is the main cause of it, however, losing others in his family has had a deep affect as well, but there is one spot of light and that is Emiliana Vitale, but she has her own darkness within that she fights on the daily as well, they would appear to be the perfect match, however, danger is always on the horizon for the two.
The Five Families have found out that there is a rat within their ranks and they have their suspicions, but they don’t have any solid proof, but hopefully that will soon change, Stefano is investigating with the other heads of the Five Families, but he has to play the slow game and when he is with his father, he has to project a cold demeanour where nothing and nobody mean anything to him, it is the only way to keep them safe from harm. Meanwhile Emiliana is slowly recovering from a past trauma which was inflicted by the rat they are all trying to catch, is still affecting her now, but she tries to do a bit more each day to break its hold over her, however, when she is triggered by an event in a supposed safe place, she realises that maybe she isn’t as far forward in her recovery as she hoped. The only shining light is Stefano, he can hold the demons at bay and calm her raging emotions like no one else, but the feelings she has for him are deep, strong and undeniable, but the stolen moments they share aren’t enough any more.
As the danger around Emiliana becomes apparent when she is attacked and Stefano realises that he cannot keep the necessary distance between them any longer and for them to truly be free, his father needs to go and he will target anyone who hurts Emiliana in the process, now they have made the first move it is no holds barred. Emiliana insists that she isn’t the fragile Princess everyone assumes her to be and she demands to be able to be part of the plan to defend herself. I seriously can not get enough of this freaking amazing series. The author writes each one with amazing anticipation and characters as the last book had withheld. I am so lost in every book in this series, and can not get enough, I love this series, and I will tell you that till the cows come home!
This one was just good and amazing as the previous novels! I seriously think this series keeps getting better and better, the suspense and the passion will make me swoon one of these days for sure haha! I fall in love with the characters from each book every time and I can not get enough from what I read!
Honestly each book is different in regards to the story line and the characters. Nothing seems to over lap or repeat itself in the sense of you are amazed and slammed against the wall with the passion with no intentions of ever letting go! For this one I was super excited as Emiliana was getting her story, loved her and she always spoke to me as a character, and after reading this amazing book, I understand why! The danger really intensified in this novel and as well as my thoughts when things happened! I loved this one, think it is my favorite one in the series thus far! Amazing read and do not pass this one up!
As I hope to have made clear, this series keeps on getting more and more amazing. This is one of my most favorite series I have been reading since the first book. I can not let go of these books! No doubt, a must read series and book! Seriously read it! I recommend it with all that resides in my heart!

OMG, this series started out with a bang and each book has continued to be the same way. This story is a dark mafia romance suspense and there is everything you could think of to make this tale an outstanding read. With danger and violence, secrets and lies, intrigue and darkness, angst and fear, intrigue, and sizzling chemistry it pops off the page and keeps your heart pumping and you don’t know whether to sit or stand as you enter the darkness to seek out the enemies. He is waiting for his time to come to claim what’s his and the woman he loves. She has become a part of the darkness when she was betrayed. Not even their enemies will see them coming. This book was great! I have read a few books by this author and they’re always good. This one is no exception, it pulled me in from page one and kept me interested until the very last line. I have been waiting for this book!!! I was NOT disappointed! I truly enjoyed Stefano and Emiliana’s story.
Emiliana is a victim of Stefano’s vindictive, mafia boss, dad. However, she doesn’t let it define who she is. She might seem like she’s fragile, but she is far from it! I loved her inner strength to overcome the trauma and become a force to be reckoned with. Stefano is also a strong character. He had to deal with so much loss in his life that it turned him into a fierce protector. And Emiliana is his to protect until the end. He is determined that he will do anything, even take down his own dad, to keep her safe. But can he do it before his dad causes more damage? Can he ferret out the rat before all is lost?
Mafia Elite is a well written series. Every character drew me in immediately to their story and I couldn’t help but love them! I am definitely on the lookout for the next book!!

OH EM GEE!! Born in Darkness was the perfect book 3 in Mafia Elite Series. I love Emiliana and Stefano’s story, I love their character development too, especially when together. Emiliana is the one he can’t have, for her own safety, but she’s the only 1 Stefano wants. Someone’s after Emiliana the question is who? She’s been in a situation where she was kidnapped before but this time feels different. A situation that has hardened her to likes of her world and the cruelties outside of the mafia as well. Which infuriates Stefano, but he has to keep his mind about him, so he can rise and forcibly replace his father as the head of the Rossi family. On top of all that they are trying to flush a rat out of the organization, that’s giving away valuable information to the wrong people. I want to say so much but I’m behaving because I don’t want to spoil the book for others. So I’ll end on this note as some who’s read all 3 books: If you have yet to read a Mafia Elite book, stop what you’re reading now and start reading this series! Yes please start with book 1, trust me you’ll get to this book because you won’t want to put it down. If you’ve read book 1 & 2, what are you waiting for? I know your heart beats for book 3 so go on out and get it! No matter who comes across this book, trust me when I say you will not be disappointed if you jump head 1st into the Mafia Elite Series! I just love love love this series and the story of Stefano and Emiliana was dark, twisty, gut wrenching and full of suspense. I recommend reading this series in order from the beginning and you get to really know the mafia families and each character. Stefano and Emiliana’s story is not for the faint of heart. It truly is more dark…..Emiliana’s battle from within after being rescued by Stefano after being kidnapped and the dreams that continue to haunt her. Stefano and biding his time with his very cruel father, who has no problem even punishing his own son if he is out of line, to get more information and hope to take him down. This story really grabs you from page one and does not let go. This book is one roller coaster of emotions and I have been truly vested from the beginning, I cannot get enough of this series.

Em has been in love with Stefano for as long as she can remember. He saved her when they were just children and he hasn’t stopped protecting her since. Hearing the truth of Stefano’s upbringing was heartbreaking and she has always been the one light in his life that made everything bearable. The electricity between Em and Stefano is insanely electric and I was cheering for them the entire time. So many obstacles keep getting thrown in their way and there is so much action and betrayal that I just couldn’t put this book down once I picked it up. The ending is amazing and this book is just as incredible as the others in this series. I highly recommend that you go back and read the others if you haven’t because they definitely all build on each other. I can’t wait to read the next books in this incredibly addictive series.

This is the 3rd book in this series that I have read and this author has done it again! I absolutely love this series. I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the series. Just when I think the mafia world can’t draw me in again, it does. I wondered in the previous book if I would get insight into what’s going on in Emiliana’s head and this book does just that. Emiliana’s and Stefano’s story is just as good as Lili & Max’s and Sofia & Enzo’s. I can’t wait to keep reading.

I loved this book! This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites. This can be read as a standalone but is book 3 in the Mafia Elite series. If you haven’t read the first two I highly recommend it, they are wonderful. This one is my favorite of the series so far. This is Emiliana and Stefano’s story. Em is the absolute perfect heroine! What a story! I know to expect something incredible from this author and this book really shows why. These characters have such a chemistry between them, I could feel it on every single page. They are both strong characters and that strength I think really shows through. This is a gripping story. I finished it in one sitting only to wish I hadn’t because I juat didn’t want it to end. This author has become one of my all time favourites and you need to do yourself a favour by reading everything she has written. This book is absolutely fantastic and I cannot speak highly enough about it.

If you believe sleep is over rated and you don’t mind not getting any then this is the book for you because once you start you won’t want to put it down. I know I didn’t!! It is a 5 star book from start to finish which is something I have come to expect from this amazing author and in particular this series. I was on the edge of my seat from the first word and stayed there right until the end. She takes us into the Mafia world and shows us the dark side of the life but also such depth of feelings and emotions shared by the characters especially Stefano and Emiliana. I LOVE the strength and connection they have. I also LOVE the badass female characters she writes. While you can read just this book on it’s own, you really don’t want to miss the grounding the previous books will give you into the storylines that thread through this series. I couldn’t wait to see if a few suspicions I had after reading the previous 2 books were true and while I won’t say if they were or not , no spoilers here, I will say please give me more!!!

This is the 3rd book in this dark mafia romance series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but it makes sense to read them in order to get the best enjoyment of the series and not give yourself spoilers. I have been a huge fan of this author since the very first book of hers that I read and she continues to produce amazing books that I just lose myself in and this book is another one of those. In this book we get the story of underboss Stefano Rossi and mafia princess Emiliana Vitale. Both have been in love with each other for years but due to Stefano’s cruel mafia boss father, they have had to keep their feelings under wraps and try to stay away from each other as much as possible. I absolutely loved Stefano and Emiliana’s story. It’s very angsty as the two of them try to keep apart and I do love a good angsty story. As with the other romantic suspense novels by this author, as well as the romance storyline, there is also another storyline running alongside, that of the mafia family and the dangers surrounding them. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline that runs through this book and could not put this book down. This author is definitely a master (or is it mistress?) or writing amazing romantic suspense and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

This is book 3 in the Mafia Elite series. I love this authors writing. The characters are really well written and I love them all. Even though it is a Mafia Romance where the men are strong and protective of what is there’s the women are also equally strong and determined.
This story is a bit of a Romeo and Juliet story. A man and a woman from 2 different Mafia families fall in love but it isn’t possible for them to be together. All because of Stefano’s father. He is a horrible, dangerous man who will stop at nothing to keep Stefano in line. Even if that means hurting the woman he loves Emiliana.
Emiliana is also dealing with her own demons after her kidnapping, she struggles to control the darkness that has awoken inside her. The only light in her life is the love of Stefano and she is counting down the days till they can be together. The problem is Stefano’s father needs to be out of the picture. But before Stefano can take over his family they need to find the rat that is buried somewhere in the families causing trouble and putting lives in danger. But who is the rat? Is it Stefano’s father? Could he be working with the Russans? Or is it someone closer to home.
This book is full of adventure, danger and passion. It is a Mafia Romance written in a way that keeps you guessing and wanting more.

At this point I’m starting to sound like a broken record but my goodness this series is phenomenal, a must read!!! This Mafia series is one of the best I’ve ever read, it’s intense, dramatic, action-packed, mysterious, shocking, twisted and so complex. I would highly recommend reading this series in order as each new book follows the last.
Just like the other books of this series I read this one in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading, once I started I couldn’t stop until I reached the very end. I loved everything about this book, it might actually be my favorite of the series!!

So, after finishing this and having read most of Ms. McKinley’s books now, I have come to the conclusion that she could write the phone book and make it addictive reading! Seriously!!! If you have yet to pick up one of her many books, what are you waiting for? You will kick yourself for missing out this long. Born in Darkness is another gem in Ms. McKinley’s crown- a stellar mafia romance, it is the third book in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. A masterfully woven romantic suspense story with action, violence, mafia politics, second chances, family dynamics, friendship, chemistry, sizzle, secrets, drama, intrigue, tension, and edge of your seat developments. This book is Stefano and Emiliana’s story, I was excited to dive in and honestly say Ms. McKinley doesn’t rest on her laurels here, she ups the ante yet again, grabbing me right from the get-go and had me flipping the pages to find out what happens, all while proving once again that this series just gets better and better with each new release. If you haven’t read the previous two books, I highly recommend that you do, as not only are they fantastic stories in their own rights, they also contain important information that will help you better appreciate this story, as well as building a bigger picture. I love this series and the wonderfully complex characters that take centre stage here. I have a serious addiction to Ms. McKinley’s stories and need my next fix stat- Book #4 can’t come soon enough and looks set to be brilliant!!! Take my word for it- if you love mafia romance, romantic suspense, wonderfully developed characters, depth, and addictive reading- then you definitely won’t want to miss this exciting story or series!!! This installment brings us the development between Emiliana Vitale and Stefano Rossi. If you have read the previous novels, you will have some more information on them and the others that we have read about so far, and I really enjoy feeling as though we have already gotten to know a bit about these characters before delving deeper into their love story. Poor Em suffers from PTSD from her abduction a few years prior, where our knight in shining armor came to carry her right out of hell. Stefano has had to deal with his own ‘darkness’ being the son of Frank, devil incarnate, and has struggled with keeping his distance from Em only to keep her safe. I for one, was swept off my feet by their love story.
I have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this new installment to this series. I have had my sleuth hat on from the very first novel, and I was very much looking forward to knowing whether I was right in my assumptions. I absolutely adore the way this author reels you in, and feeds you information, but with the twists and turns, and introductions of new characters, doubt creeps in. Of course, I won’t tell you who the rat in the Five Families was, but I was very proud of my skills. Another one for the books, highly recommend!

For me this book was even better than the first book. I really connected with Enzo and Sofia. This book had suspense, intrigue, a lot of action, and also gives a little history into the relationship going back to when they were six and eight years old. I enjoyed how the sub characters that were in book one were also in book 2 and that as each book goes you can see the intense camaraderie that flourishes. This author does a great job at storytelling hitting all of the right notes and bringing you completely into the fold. This is my first mafia series and it has not let me down I can’t wait to see all of the secrets come out one by one because throughout the series so far there definitely are several that leave you with your mouth hanging open and on the edge of your seat I love how this authors mind works. Now onto book 3.
This author is one of my favorites. Her characters are strong, well-written and the story is always driven with a KAPOW climactic ending. This series does not fail. You get sucked in at the beginning with the action and just don’t want to leave. This mafia family is twisted and all these guys want is to get out. You can’t help but find yourself rooting for them. They go through some pretty tough challenges but will their love make it? You are going to have to read it to find out. This is one series that will keep you active and involved. Highly recommend. I would give it more than 5 if I could.

This is the third book in this series which is just as awesome as the previous two books. I highly suggest reading the previous two books to help your enhancement of this series. This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. Her books are well written and her attention to details just makes her stories pop. This book is no different. I was pulled into the story by the characters from the beginning. They are connectable and keep the story engaging. This is a faster paced story that is full of action and romance. Stefano has a destiny of being kind. He is biding his time just waiting for that to happen, not only is he waiting for that but also for the woman he loves to be by his side. Emiliana fell in love with the one man who is off limits to her. As their relationship grows so do the enemies. How far will he go to keep her safe and at his side? I loved their growth and chemistry throughout the story. They truly made the story fun and entertaining to read. I also loved the growth of the plot that kept me wanting to know more. This is a must read and I highly recommend it.

I don’t know how I got through life without have a book by this author to read. I have had the pleasure of reading several now and each of them has me reading as much and as often as possible, sometimes even while working (but don’t tell my boss).
Sofia and Enzo are absolutely electric together. They fight their mutual attraction even though they know how the other feels until they cannot resist each other any longer.
There are some steamy moments, suspenseful/dangerous moments and even some laughs here and there mixed in.
The characters are well developed and I find myself counting the days until the next one will be released. I need to find out what happens next with all of these amazing people.
