Sinful Vow (Dark Mafia Sins, book 1) by Emily Bowie – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Sinful Vow (Dark Mafia Sins, #0.5)Sinful Vow by Emily Bowie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ever since their paths crossed years ago, Luca has vowed to protect Aly…whether she thinks she needs it or not. However, the night before she is set to marry one of her father’s men, Luca steals her away and announces she will marry him instead. He believes he is using her as leverage in a war between the families…so why is his heart getting involved? She knows she is being used and doesn’t know which side she can truly trust…but her heart is getting involved, too! Is she just a pawn in a game? Or is she the queen he has needed since years ago? When loyalties are tested…is their alliance strong enough to last?

I enjoyed this story. Sat down and read it one sitting. I liked both main characters…and Luca’s right hand man is a fun character, too! There are some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and kept the story interesting. Overall, an entertaining read that kept me turning the pages. There is hinting at the end at what the next story might be…and I am looking forward to it.

First of all, I love this series and this book doesn’t disappoint. Elena who grew up as one of the mafia princesses has been on the run for several years. As far as Marco knew, Elena was dead but when he finds out that Elena is alive and needs help he steps up to find her. Marco and Elena are helped by the five families. As usual, the author did a wonderful job of setting the scene, adding danger, romance, and action to keep you reading well past your bedtime. I can’t wait to pick up more books by this author!

I never thought of myself as a Mafia themed reader but this is the second series and this was another that did not disappoint. Aly and Luca both have a troubled childhoods that led them to paths niether pictured themselves in. The start of the book was a little slow and jumpy. I was hoping for a little more background of Aly and Luca as it started the book in the last jumping to different points in their lives. Each time frame gave a brief history and encounter. However, the build up and ending make up for the slow start. I wouldn’t mind following Aly and Luca further to see where their lives take them.

I will forever be a fan of smut.
I felt like I read this story before but without the spice.
I enjoyed that it was a quick and exciting.
Just enough thrill and spice to keep me turning the page.
Oh the MC is one I will be thinking of for awhile.
A very vivid picture was made with this author and that really set the story apart.
I am so happy this is a series because I need to know what happens next.
This book is what I needed to get out of a slump.
If you are a fan of mafia and family feuds, love and spice,
This is it.
I have never heard of this author before that was refreshing because it is very well written and entertaining.

Savage Secrets (Mafia Elite, book 4) by Amy McKinley – Review by Vanessa Watts

Savage Secrets (Mafia Elite, #4)Savage Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Having read the previous 3 books in this series I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I was to read this book. Although these books can be standalone, everything makes more sense if you start from book one. This will allow you to follow the storyline so you know all the players in this book as well as their backgrounds and past predicaments.

This book starts off in the action right away with Elena, who has been thought dead by most of the mafia family members. Known only to be alive by Sofia and Katya the Bratva assassin. Things change in the world when the Bratva discover that she is alive and well, thus Sofia must inform her brother Marco of the deception so he can try to protect her. It is a race to see which side can get to her first and if she can put her trust in the one man she never thought she could have.

This book is packed full of action, adventure, romance and more twists than a roller coaster. It will leave you on the edge of your seat as you try to solve why the Bratva want Elena dead so badly. Will they get their wish or can Marco put an end to it once and for all. Amy McKinley is one author that I will read anything she puts out, her books are just that good!

A very raw, dark and emotional romance, sit down and enjoy the ride because I can guarantee you wont be able to put this book down.

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, book 2) by Amy McKinley – Review by Candice Robinson Estes

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, #2)Blood Oath by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blood Oath continues the Mafia Elite Series by Amy McKinley. This second book in the series is a worthy companion to the first installment. This series keeps getting hotter and keeps ratcheting up the suspense and the drama. I can’t wait to see where this series goes from here, but I have absolutely no doubt that it will be amazing from start to finish. In this book, we follow the story of Sofia La Rosa and Enzo Vitale. Two star crossed lovers worthy of another Italian couple. While their families aren’t at war with each other, arranged marriages and secrets threaten to keep our clandestine lovers apart. Through the many twists and turns that can only possibly found within the Mafia , from a blood oath undertaken during a terrifying event at very young age, this pair find a way back to each other at different points in their lives, and even find a way for their love to work, at least for a while. The biggest question of all, though, is will the secrets that Sofia holds and that Enzo is a part of keep them apart for goo While there is definitely more blood and guts in this book, there is also a truly impressive story being told and unfolded at just the right pace to keep you guessing and coming back for more. I truly cannot wait to pick up the next installment of this gripping series and see if I have correctly found the rat among these Mafia bosses and their families.

Wow what more can I say. I like to delve into mafia romances every now and then and this one was not what I expected. I as not disappointed. I like how the author builds up the drama in this book and the chemistry between the characters is really dynamic. I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was gonna happen next. I like how the author outlines each characters life to start with and how they became entwined.

I like how the characters are realistic. I also like how I was drawn into the book and felt as though I was right there with the action. I will definitely be reading more from this author and this series.

I wasn’t sure what to make of Sinful Vow at first. It was much more “spicy” than I anticipated straight off the bat but it simultaneously had my undivided attention.
I liked how the narrative switched between both main characters and as the first book in a series, I felt like we were given a good background on all characters and each one really had a lot of depth.
I knew going into this that there was a romance element to the genre and originally found myself wishing there was more action, that wish was granted pretty quickly. This book truly exceeded all expectations and I look forward to more from this author.

Elena Caruso left home after she got news she was hunted by the Bratva. Her only choice was to follow what she had learned from her mother. She had been gone 4 years, when she received a text message stating The Bratva knows where she is. Before she can get out she is found and by not only the Bratva but by the one she has always loved. Not knowing Marco is coming to protect her, she fights him and runs for her life. Only after being shot does she slow down. But the danger is right behind her. Who can she trust? Why is she being hunted? Marco La Rosa must find Elena and get her to safety. She is not only in trouble, she is fighting him with all she has. Can Marco convince Elena to trust him? What is Marcos’ real plan?
This author again kept me glued to her book. Not only is it well written, it grabs you in the first sentence and you just can’t put it down. I love this series and the characters, Elena is one strong independent woman. The women of this Mafia are just as strong as the men. The fight is real for these characters. When all is read, you will find yourself wanting more. That is what makes this series so entertaining. I recommend you read this series in order, you won’t want to miss any of it. No Spoilers Here!

This was a book I could not put down. This is the first time I have read a book by this author and I was not disappointed in any way. The author was able to grab my attention and keep it throughout the entire book. The mafia world is a scary down right competitive backdrop to this book. I loved the protective instincts of our main characters even though they come from different mafia families at war. You will find the story line very intriguing and well as keeping you on your toes with all the beautifully written plot twists. I will certainly be reading book two.

This book follows Marco and Elena and is another Arranged Mafia Marriage romance. I blew through this book in one day! This book was packed with drama and excitement and the twist at the end OMG I was blown away. I did wish that there was more of a build-up and insight into the romance between Marco and Elena. You knew they were right for each other and had some history and angst but I wanted to fall in love with them and watch it unfold a little more but just like in the previous books from this series there was some good amount of spice and I truly love the world this author has created with these characters and I adore how they all intertwine in each book and I can keep watching new developments from previous book characters roll into this book along with the main characters of this. She does a really great job at incorporating old characters and continuing their story while also introducing a new story with Marco and Elena and I really love that. I look forward to reading book 5!

Savage Secrets is the fourth book in the Mafia Elite Series and I absolutely loved this book. This is a Romance Suspense that will have you turning the pages while on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what is going to happen next. I’m a huge fan of this author and she continues to amaze me with her attention to detail and her characters are well developed and amazing with a dash of hard edge. If you haven’t already started this series I highly recommend reading it from the beginning you won’t be disappointed. This is Marco and Elena’s story. She’s been on the run for years and up until now she has been hiding well but now she finds herself in a situation where she is in danger and not just about getting caught. She’s pretty much been in love with him for years but of course he believed she died several years back. He’s determined to protect her no matter what. Can their arrangement be her saving grace? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Sinful Vow (Dark Mafia Sins, #0.5)Sinful Vow by Emily Bowie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Aly and Luca probably couldn’t be more opposite if they tried, but they mesh well together. Aly wants nothing more than to get away from everything and everyone connected to her name while Luca is doing everything to gain the respect and take the place of his adopted father one day. When Luca finds out that Aly is to be married he kidnaps her from her father’s home. By doing so he has started a war that has been building up for years. His intention has always been to get revenge on Mr. Mancini for killing his two friends when he was a child, but when it comes to Aly he has a bit of a soft spot. Will Luca finally get his revenge or will these two families finally be able to make peace?

I can’t express enough how this book was to read. I don’t recall a Mafia romance where I was sucked in from the very first page. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.

Savage Secrets (Mafia Elite, book 4) by Amy McKinley – Review by Alexandria Richard

Savage Secrets (Mafia Elite, #4)Savage Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ever read a book series where each book gets better and better, and you’re enjoying it as it goes, but then you get to one down the line and you’re like THIS. IS. THE. ONE? Well that’s this one. I feel like books 1-3 set up everything for this book perfectly and left me astounded.

Did I expect most of it and guess some of the plots? Of course. But I still NEEDED this book in my life and sat there reading it from beginning to end. I feel like (almost) all the questions and build up where answered. Of course know it’s not all been said and done because this is only book 4 of 7 planned (according to Amazon at the time of this writing), but ugh, I can’t gush enough about this one.

We get Marco and Elena in this book. As with all the others there’s a HEA in terms of the love story, but the build up to there is so great. It’s kind of an enemies to lovers, second chance, forced proximity, story. They knew each other as kids but Marco starts pulling away and being a jerk to Elena in their teens because he knows he cannot have her. Then she’s on the run, hiding who she really is, and Marco steps in to save her. And then says you’re mine. AH!

I enjoyed the continual build up of the mafia world and the ongoing issues inside the Family as well as with the Bratva. Note: I really want my Katya novel next!

Content warning: talk of past abduction and violence against women, human trafficking, child murder, mafia violence, murder, and general mayhem.

Holy Mafia War! Savage Secrets OH EM GEE! Completely love it, it actually might be my favorite book in the series.

I love the dynamics between Elena and Marco, the chemistry is amazing. I picture the whole movie playing out in my mind as I read.
This series I would recommend over, over, and over again to anyone who likes romance and carnage. lol
Please please please, I beg you check it out, it will not disappoint! But now I need to go before I say too much!
My final note is so much love! I want to go back and start over and reread all 4 straight through!

I can’t get enough of this series! Every book just gets better, and I find more couples like who steal my heart with their stories.
Elena and Marco had a chemistry that steamed off the pages. Elena was no normal heroine being independent, headstrong, and fearless. Assuming a new identity due to issues with the Bratva she is alone on the run, and doing pretty good. When word is sent that they know where she is it becomes a running game… that is until her past shows up in the form of an old friend/crush. Marco Is a mob boss and a man who loved her in the past. Trying to protect her as well as finally be with her they assume a marriage of convenience. From there it’s 2 headstrong individuals trying to navigate their unspoken love and mafia revenge. It’s all the romance, action and suspense you could want and more.

This book was so good! This is the one I’ve been waiting for since the second book in this series (Blood Oath) came out! This book had all the action, some drama, some steamy/spicy scenes and some suspense. It was enthralling and a few secrets finally come to light. This is an enemies to lovers, arranged marriage book as well. This can be read as a standalone but it makes much more sense if you read the other 3 books before this one. I was so excited to get Elena and Marco’s story that I opened it up as soon as I could. Each book in this series so far has been an exciting ride. I had nothing but high hopes for this one and it did not let me down. Elena was a strong character, so following her was intriguing. The plot twist kept you wanting to find out the rest. If you have been thinking about getting into Mafia Romance books, then definitely give this series a try! This is the fourth book in a series, so I would recommend reading the first books to get a better understanding of the characters and relationships. However, the story can be followed without reading the previous books.

This was a 5 star read. This is one of my favorite genres and I couldn’t get enough, it was over too fast for me. I was on the edge of my seat right from the beginning. I was excited to finally get Elena and Marco’s story.

These two have had feelings for each other for years. But of course Elena was in an arranged marriage. But with a twist Elena ends up fleeing. When they learn that Elena is in danger, Marco goes looking for her. Will he be able to keep Elena safe?

Overall this was a great read with so many twists and turns. I believe this may just be my favorite of the series so far. It can be read as a standalone but I suggest reading from the beginning. I love love loved these two, they were perfect for each other in so many ways. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. 1-click and get started today.

I personally wish I could give this book 10 stars, I have loved absolutely everything in this series and while this was the fourth installment it did not disappoint. I have now read several things by this author and I am in love, she quickly become one of my top authors and I can’t wait to read more by her. But this mafia romance series is personally my favorite. Once again she brings back our favorite characters, and brings in some amazing new ones. The plot is a crazy emotional roller coaster ride, and what could be better then an enemies to lovers troupe? Elena and Marco have always been attracted to each other, but since Elena is arranged to marry someone else aren’t their hands tied? But their might be a chance for Elena to escape and make a new life for herself, buy what will happen when she succeeds and Marco has to find her before she’s killed? Will Marco be able to save her? Will they get to be together in the end? You’ll have to read this amazing story to find our for yourself. I personally can’t wait for more.

Sinful Vow (Dark Mafia Sins, #0.5)Sinful Vow by Emily Bowie
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sinful Vow was an interesting read. It’s a story about a young man adopted by a mafia Don that ends up meeting and falling for the daughter of the Don of the rival family. While I liked the character of Aly it was hard to root for her to be with Luca. He reads like a sociopath and she is his possession. It was very difficult to believe that he loved her and therefore very difficult to root for them. I was screaming for her to run in the other direction. I liked reading about Aly’s relationship with her mom. I wish we could have had more of that. Aly was a smart girl that just doesn’t realize that the man she loves is just like her father, with who she has a lot of issues. I’m not sure if this was intended but character-wise, it’s understandable. There’s lots of good action and it is a quick read. All in all, I liked it.
