I read Leslie Georgeson’s ‘Beast,’ the 5th book in her Popov Bratva’s series, in A NIGHT. It started off steady, but after the first few chapters I was HOOKED. I could not put the book down. The story is told from both the point of view of the mafia bodyguard, Adrik – aka the beast – and the mafia princess, Annika, and I think it’s really important how the two love interests have physical deformities/disabilities, a group of people we rarely see in love stories but SHOULD. It’s emotional, it’s romantic, it’s full of lust and pining. It’s everything you want from a mafia romance. ‘I didn’t even know the girl. Yet, I felt an inexplicable affinity to her.’ It’s a must read! I highly recommend!

I read Beast in one day. I kept telling myself ok one more chapter then I’m going to stop. Next thing I know it’s 2 am and I’ve finished the book. What I enjoyed most about this story is that Adrik’s past was revealed in little pieces. It kept me reading. When the whole story of his childhood was revealed my heart hurt for him. Annika is such a treasure. I enjoyed her character a lot. She’s had her fair share of trauma but she’s strong. It was like their lives led them to each other. This was a good read worth the lack of sleep.

I have read a lot of Dark Mafia romances, but I loved this one. It wasn’t what I normally read, but it kept my interest and kept me wanting more. I just finished the first book, and can’t wait to get started on the 2nd one in this series. Chase and Katarina are characters that you will want to get to know. This was the first book that I read from this author, and I hope she has some similar books to read after I finish this series!

Adrik was a lost and lonely child, broken by his father and having the determination that he will not be like him drives him to seek a better life, although that better life brings him in to the Popov Bratva.
Being in the folds he has viewed her from a far as he would never be able to get close to the Princess, which is Annika, but when her life is threatened, she requests the most unlikely bodyguard Adrik. Alone in the lake house will she see through the veil of ugliness and see the true heart of the Beast?
This is the fifth book in this series, and this is a heart-warming beautiful book. It can be read as a stand-alone story, but it would not hurt to read the series if not yet read. Adrik is such a strong character with a horrendous past but shows the determination to work to get better and the overall goal to be nothing like his father.
The chemistry between these two jumped off the page and the forbidden love angle adds the depth to the story as it goes along. I loved the twists and turns of the story and that the pasts intertwine to make the plot even more interesting. I loved how strong the female character Annika was and that it was not her nature to back down from anything. I could not put this book down and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

A Bratva prince. The long lost daughter of a 1%-er MC president. Secrets. Revenge. Mistrust. Tension. Grief. Throw in a few country songs, blend on high! Instant ro-spense magic!!!
Dominic is bored. He has been living the Bratva life. It has not been as exciting since his twin left to be with his fiance. Dominic hasn’t even really found the company of women interesting. The one thing that brings any joy anymore is boosting cars. One night, he sets out to do just that. Except he gets more than he bargained for when he takes off in her car.
Leah is on hiatus from her singing career due to a scandal that caused her to take a step back. One night she is out looking for her wallet that she lost and when someone steals her car, she does the only logical thing she can think of, she jumps into the passenger side and pepper sprays the driver. This doesn’t stop him from stealing her car and only gets her kidnapped. This is just the beginning to the bad night Leah was having.
Dominic and Leah float around in the same circles for a while, trying to avoid each other due to the intense attraction felt by both. Until the friend thing doesn’t work. The hurt feelings and anger is just the tip of the iceberg for these two. Throw in a vengeful father, a crazy ex, more secrets, paparazzi, some ice and shake. Don’t stir.
Hot Dang!!! You never knew what was coming next. This book was fantastic!! If you haven’t started this series, don’t wait! Start here.

I don’t know if a main character since the fairy tales days has been so misjudged simply on his looks. Adrik deserved so much better than his father and the people who mistreated him simply because of his looks. I am so happy Adrik found Annika.
Adrik had met with much misfortune in his life. At 8, he was disfigured by a dog. At 17, his father kicked him out of the house. At 19, Adrik found himself on the streets, homeless. Adrik figured out a plan and put it into motion. He joined the Popov Bratva and sought to make a better life for himself. Just as things were starting to turn around for him, tragedy struck and Adrik lost the people most important to him except for his Bratva brothers. Many years after working his way up through the ranks, Adrik is a trusted soldier. He gets a special assignment, to guard the boss’s daughter. The only problem is that Adrik has been crushing on her since joining the Bratva 8 years ago.
Annika is not like all the Bratva princesses. She is weird, quiet, and shy. Ever since recovering from a childhood trauma, Annika has liked playing her piano more than being with people. After a recent attempt on her life, Annika has been confined to a wheelchair. When Annika’s stalker reappears, she agrees to go into hiding but she wants to pick the guards. She picks Adrik and his partner. As Annika gets to know Adrik more, the more she knows that he is the one for her. But so much stands in their way.
When the stalker takes things to the next level, his identity is discovered. Adrik is haunted by this. Things come to a head when Annika is kidnapped and Adrik is left to the Bratva to be dealt with.
Let me say that I am a mafiosa at heart. I have not spent much time getting to know the Russian Bratva but if all are like the Popov Bratva, I will find room in my omerta’d heart for the brotherhood. Excellent story. Fantastic characters. Strong, sassy women!!! Just the right amount of heat. What is not to love? Not much!!!

This book is part of a series, but it works as a stand alone book. I have not read any of the other books yet, but I still enjoyed this one. The main characters are Adrik and Annika. Adrik has facial disfiguration from his childhood and hides his face. Annika requests that Adrik guard her, and they grow close during that time. The story was a little predictable about the mafia princess falling in love with her guard, but it was well written and enjoyable. The best part of the story was that both characters had trauma that they pushed through. I loved that they helped each other grow and overcome their trauma.

I finished this book in one sitting and immediately got the next one so I could know more on what happens with Chase and Katarina!
This was such a hold my attention, can’t stop, must know what happens next book.
Katarina is on a work trip when she meets wealthy Chase…. and did not realize he’s actually her employer! A whirlwind romance mixed in with some dangerous events lead Katarina and Chase living together.
Chase is a man of mystery to Katarina however and she is quickly thrown into the paparazzi spotlight when they return to the US. The events from the week long work trip follow her home and she questions her future with Chase. All of this is happening while she is exploring her sexual side with Chase! Seriously go read to find out more and then proceed to download the others in this series!

This is the fourth installment to this series and I honestly can’t believe it took me this long to discover this author. This enemies to lovers story is full of action, drama, mystery, chemistry and so much more that I simply couldn’t put it down. While I haven’t read the previous three books in this series I will definitely be going back and reading them in order. That being said you can read them each as a stand-alone but if you love them as much as I did you’ll want to binge the entire series in a weekend.
This is the fifth installment in this amazing series and while I have only read one other book in this series I am looking to pickup the rest of the series as soon as possible. But trust me when I say that this author will hook you from the very beginning and take you on an emotional ride. This author gives us not only an emotional ride, but a ride full of suspense, drama, romance and so much more. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
This book is about Beast aka Adrik Volkov. He is nothing like his father who had double crossed the Russian Bratva. Adrik was hoping for a place in the Bratva but in order to earn a spot he must fight Timofey. Adrik was at the lowest of the low when he left home. He couldn’t stay any longer. He needed to get away, get settled and then go back and get his little brother. He watched Annika from a far. Kept his face hidden from most. No one really knew what happened to his face. I loved his character. He had had such a rough life along with his little brother Damien but Adrik refuses to bow down to his dad and follow in his footsteps. He wants something better. He becomes a trusted member in the Bratva after being with them for about a decade. He watched Annika grow from a weird young girl who was like an outcast, to a beautiful, young, talented woman. He knew he couldn’t get close to her because she’s a Bratva Princess and then she would see his face and run from his ugliness. When Annika’s life is in danger, the two men she chooses to protect her at a safe house is Adrik and Timofey. This book had some crazy suspense I didn’t see coming that’s for sure. I loved the friendships formed throughout the book. Annika was such a strong character even with her recent disability. She doesn’t back down from a challenge even when the odds are stacked against her. Just loved this from beginning to end. The men in her family, every last one of them are amazing men. Definitely looking forward to another book from the author. Maybe Efrem will be next? Cannot wait. This was Definitely another 5 star read from this author.
Another explosive story from this author! I loved the story and the characters! This flows along at a great pace and I quickly read it in two sittings! The characters are resilient and not what I expected.
At first I was hesitant because Adrick is only a bodyguard and I wasn’t too interested in him. Boy was I wrong! His back/story is fascinating! The growth he had over his life is remarkable as he has faced many struggles and horrendous things. It is amazing he turned out like he has. I love that he had the secret crush! I still remember when I read the line anout how he had touched her for the first time…he was sooo excited or giddy. So refreshing! I could hear his thoughts in my head.
While I enjoyed Annika, her plight and her strength I was more empathetic to the beast and how everything would play out for him. I did like all of the family involvement into the storyline.
Overall this is an outstanding addition to the series. This is the fifth book in the series but can easily be read as a standalone. The author does a good quick job of artfully filling pasts where they need to be. I look forward to more!

Strong starter This was a good book. The first in the series and it takes some time but sets the scene. Most of the book is dedicated to the establishment of Kate and Chase’s relationship and the boss – employee saga. I was hoping for more about Kate’s past but I expect that is to come. There are some intense sexy times which are written better each time. I feel the author gains momentum as the book proceeds and just past the halfway mark I was totally engrossed. This is a worthy read and I’m looking forward to reading book 2 Degrees of Control.

So this is the first book I have read in this series. I don’t feel like I was missing anything. I do believe I will need to go read the first 4 books though! Adrik and Annika’s story is wonderful. It has everything you could want; suspense, twists and turns, love that sees past what is on the outside. Is their love enough though to see them through the traumas they have both endured in their lives?
17 chapters of a whirlwind romance with an edge of mystery, Degrees Of Innocence won’t lack in capturing the reader’s attention. Katarina narrates her time in Aruba working on a project to make healthcare more accessible. When a man collapses in the dining room of the resort, Katarina begins CPR when another man assists her. After the man is taken to an ambulance, Chase buys her dinner and escorts her to her room where they exchange phone numbers. Chase promises to give her a tour of the island. Katarina finds she can’t stop thinking about Chase. Meanwhile, she continues to work on setting up for the conference. Much to her dismay, the owner of Prestian Corporation keeps emailing her to stop working so she can enjoy the resort.
Sunday, Katarina and Chase go on a tour of the island. Both of them admit to their attraction and while Katarina would willingly allow Chase in her room that evening, Chase promises they can spend their time on Monday evening where he intends to spend his time focused completely on her. When Monday morning arrives, Katarina is shocked to see Chase in a business suit. Chase is the owner of Prestian Corporation! The story progresses delving into the dynamic of Katarina and Chase’s relationship. Rumors turn into dangerous threats and Katarina is faced with her mother’s past which is a serious threat to her life and Chase’s company. This is a promising series and I eagerly look forward to reading this romance series.

I absolutely love a good Mafia story and I have to say this has got to be amongst the best I’ve read. It was an absolutely fantastic read – from beginning to end I was completely hooked. I think Adrik had my heart from the very beginning – with everything he went through as a child, my heart broke for him so many times. Annika was not what I was expecting at all from a Mafia Princess! I loved her character straight away. This story was so heart-warming – I loved the slow burn between Adrik and Annika, it was so perfect for them. I just absolutely adored them both! I read this book as a standalone and it was also the first I had read by this author but I will absolutely be looking for more to read!!
This is book 5 in the Popov Bratva series. And wow this series keeps getting better with every book. I have loved everyone. The author does an amazing job with the characters giving the reader and insight into a Mafia family while also making them realistic. This story is a romance but it is full of danger and heartbreak as well.
Adrik (Beast) has a past that has scared him in a physical way as well as emotional. His upbringing was hard and because of the scars on his face he is used to people staring at him. After his upbringing he joins the Bratva to find a purpose and something he didn’t expect to find, a family.
After working for the Bratva for a few years he meets a woman that takes his breath away Annika. However he is too scared he would scare her so he keeps his distance and doesn’t show his face.
Annika has had trauma in her past as well the most recent indecent was when she was attacked and stabbed by an unknown person. While she recovers she has seen Beast around and has felt a connection and an attraction she can’t explain.
When the stalker returns and threatens Annika’s life again she is told to leave for her own safety, taking just 2 guards for protection. When she chooses Beast she sees it as a chance to finally get to know this mysterious man while Beast is going to do everything in his power to protect her from danger but also from the shock of seeing his scares.
This book is full of romance but also a great deal of danger. Your heart bleeds for both Beast and Annika for the past they have had and for the things they are still going through and dealing with. Can two Wounded people heal each other? Or will Annika be repulsed like so many others by the scars left on Beast?
Beast is the fifth book in the Popov Bratva series by Leslie Georgeson. I love this series so much, and it just seems to get better with each new instalment. Book #5 has proven to be another feather in Ms. Georgeson’s cap- another fantastic Bratva romance- a bit of an intense and emotional romantic suspense with lots of action, dramatic developments, tension, danger, intrigue, secret crushes, forbidden romance, scarred MC, sweet fMC, heart-wrenching details, chemistry, sizzle, endearing & interesting characters, mafia politics, and violence. I loved Adrik (Beast) when I first met him in the previous instalment, even though he was just a supporting character. I knew there was so much more to him than what we were shown/told, and I wanted to know ALL the details—- so I was thrilled to find he was getting his own book. What an emotional and heart-wrenching story he has to tell, my heart ached for what he had gone through. He and Anika are so sweet together, but these two have harboured secret crushes for quite some time, and being his boss’s daughter, and a Bratva princess, theirs is a forbidden romance. So that definitely throws some angst and drama into the mix. Add in the stalker element, danger, and drama- and things take an intense turn. Ms. Georgeson doesn’t make things too easy for them, making them work for any happiness and their chance for a HEA. I highly recommend this addictive series. Each book could be read as a standalone, but, like me, you will probably find that one book isn’t enough and will end up binge reading the entire series….
The series consists of: -Freak (Book One) ….. Zeke and Mia’s story -Snitch (Book Two) ….. Sacha and Willow’s story -Thug (Book Three) ….. Lev and Siena’s story -Thief (Book Four) ….. Dom and Leah’s story (Dom is Lev’s twin brother) -Beast (Book Five) ….. Adrik and Annika’s story (due for release in Oct 2022) -Punk (Book Six) ….. due to release in March 2023
Beast (a secret crush Mafia romantic suspense) (Popov Bratva Book 5)
I was so excited the Adrik got his own story. I have only read Dominik’s story so far but there was something very endearing about Adrik. As soon as I saw this was coming I knew I had to read it ASAP and I have no regrets.
Adrick has quiet the interesting back story which only made me like him more. His determination to make something of himself was admirable.
Annika is not the typical Princess, so someone coming for her made no sense. She simply wants to live as simple of a life as possible.
I was on the edge of my seat as I turned pages and may have lost track of time reading when I should have been doing other things like working.
I need to slow like down a bit so I can go back and read the others before the next book is released.

Degrees of Innocence: Dark Mafia Romance (Cruel Deceptions Book 1) By Via Mari – Review by Jessica Stone
I’ve been blown away a lot quite recently with the “mafia” romances I’ve been reading and this one once again, did not disappoint.
Pretty straightforward story about a strong independent, intelligent woman, who ends up falling for the man she never saw coming. Katerina or Kate as she likes to be called is a design consultant hired on to a new job, when her and her team are flown out as a team to spend some time working on a design concept. Some crazy things start happening shortly after they arrive and Kate ends meeting our gorgeous gorgeous man Chase. Not knowing that he’s the billionaire who hired her team for the project at the time, it’s already too late for Katerina to get away from this man. From the moment he met her, Chase is enthralled with her brains and beauty, and don’t get me wrong, Kate feels the attraction as-well, it even has her thinking she might have found something special, something real, that is until she finds out Chase is her new billionaire boss. Their connection grows, but so does the danger surrounding them, and the ever growing threat to Kate from an unknown enemy. Is it linked to her new acquaintance to Chase or does it have to do with who Kate is and where she comes from….
Ok so that being said, this one’s a hottttt one, granted I’ve read spicer but this had me sweating a bit. The chemistry between these two is undeniable and so much fun. Chase is very controlling, domineering, typical manly man ,I will protect you, you’re mine sort. And Kate is very much a, I can do things by myself, I don’t need you holding my hand, stop telling me what to do, I’m a grown woman, type of gal. They butt heads in the most delicious way possible.
I absolutely loveee the spin on the mafia romance, the book has ties to the mafia don’t get me wrong but it’s not fully centered around big mafia men telling women what to do, keeping them safe, being the main story. The action/mystery of who is behind the increasing attacks on Kate kept me guessing all the way to the end and still I was flabbergasted. I still have soooo many question I need answered, I cannot (hopefully) wait to read more about these two and delve deeper into their life and the story of those surrounding them.
Wonderful mix of smutty, mysterious, mafia romance all put together and packaged neatly, I think this author did a wonderful job building her characters and starting this world, I’m excited to see more!

Degrees of Innocence is the first novel in the Cruel Deceptions series. While at a resort preparing for a week-long training and development session for a new medical center, Katarina meets a mysterious stranger named Chase under interesting circumstances. She soon learns that he isn’t entirely who he says he is thus starting a whirlwind of drama and pure lust. This feels very 50 Shades of Grey adjacent as Chase is very much Elijah from the vampire diaries and Christian Grey morphed into one man. While Katarina is a sweet, innocent, career driven woman. This was a quick, entertaining read that can absolutely be read in one sitting plus there are several books in this series ready to be devoured.

This book came out amazing Chase and Katarina are my two favorite characters. Chase is so determined that Katarina is what he needs and Katarina is determined in her career knowing that the Mafia life is going to change her path and love will change his path with Katarina. Funny that this is my second book with Mafia romance, and every story has a different ending and it keeps me on my toes.

Adrik had a horrible childhood with some trauma that resulted in facial dis-figuration. After living on the streets as a teen, he finally gets up the courage to ask the Russian mafia for a job. After being hired, he fell in love with a mafia princess but he cannot get close to her or let her see his face. Annika was attacked five months ago leaving her wheelchair bound. When the psycho came back for her, her mafia family sends her off to a secluded house in the middle of the night under watch. She requests Adrik be a guard. Once there, the two grow close but he must protect her at all cost and he is not suppose to get close to her. Opinion This is the fifth book in the series but the first one I’ve read. I found that I was able to follow the story quite easily, even though I haven’t read any other books in the series. I’m a lover of mafia romances. This book is a lot less violent that other mafia books that I have read and would be perfect for those interested but squeamish. The story is cute, mafia princess falls in love with a guard. I just found it odd that Adrik would not let Annika see his face and would cover it up with hair and a hoodie. If he is guarding her, he should be able to see all around them at all times. Covering your face up would not allow this. Other than this oversight, I think the book was a great and sweet love story.

This is the 5th book in the series by Leslie Georgeson and I am still in awe. The way that this book was written to tell Adrik and Annika’s story was wonderfully done. The way that these characters interact, and their story unfolded was done in such a wonderful way that I found myself reading instead of working. Adrik underwent something horrific, just like Annika did and once they finally were able to share with one another what the other went through, it solidified their relationship and had them becoming closer to one another. There were lots of twists and turns in this book that had me unable to guess what was going to happen next. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series and find out what happens next!!

This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed reading. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future. This is a well written story that is full of mafia romance, trust and some rules are meant to be broken. I enjoyed how the characters brought the story to life on each page. They pulled me into their story from the start and had me coming back for more. They have great growth and chemistry throughout the story. This is a fast paced story that is hard to put down. It is an engaging story that you don’t want to miss. Will rules be broken? Is there a happily ever after? This is such a great story, I highly recommend this book.
This is the second book by this author that I have read. I enjoyed this one just as much as the first one I read. This is a well written story that is full of romance and suspense. A story that is fast paced and hard to put down. He is a protector in the shadows until she is more curious and gets closer to him. There is great growth both in the plot and character throughout the story. Their chemistry is off the charts which made the story easy and entertaining to read. I enjoyed how they pulled me into their world with ease. They made me feel as if I was part of their story. The suspense had me turning pages fast just to see what would happen next with them. This is a really great story and I highly recommend it.
This book is utterly fantastic. It really pulled me in from the start and could not read enough about Adrik! This has been a strong series so far but I think this book has to be my favourite. It seemed to have that extra level and I really connected with it. The story was dark an intense and the whole book had an exciting feel to it. This is still a relatively new author to me and yet with each book she solidifies her place as a go to author. Even though I have just finished this book I am already looking forward to the next.
Revenge is a dish best served cold! This was an awesome addition to the story filled with action, suspense, drama and of course romance. Adrik (aka The Beast) has a disfigurement but appears as a confident, put together kind of guy only to those he knows but deep down he has insecurities stemming from trauma. Similarly, Amelia has her own set of issues and secrets that she keeps hidden. Together these two create chemistry and steam but there is so much against them. There is so much emotion. I don’t want to give too much away as there are so many layers to their story. This is the fifth book in the series and can be read as a stand-alone but much better as a part of the series.

Leslie Georgeson writes a gripping dark and twisted tale that has become addicting. She writes compelling, and complex characters that will entice you to want a closer look. Beast is the fifth book and is a thrilling forbidden love secret crush romance story where the main character is anything but ordinary. His looks alone scare people that is where his name Beast came from. Annika has led a sheltered life as a Bratva princess. She is off limits as the Boss’s daughter, but he can’t help but love her. She is the one thing that is able to see past his scars and see him for who he truly is. This book in the Popov Bratva series is full of everything you could want to keep the reader enthralled. As with the other books in the series there is intrigue and suspense, passion and angst, lies and deceit, secrets and betrayal, danger and violence. It reminded me a bit of Beauty and the Beast in a twisted and dark Mafia way with a scarred and broken man, a forbidden princess and a monster of a stalker this instalment will have your heart breaking and melting at the same time. There are also some steamy moments that will fog up your glasses, moments when you are on the edge of your seat and moments when you will need the tissue box. Don’t miss this gripping tale.
