Maggie by Mya O”Malley was quite a nice surprise. It’s basically a “who done it” book with a little good clean romance thrown in. It’ the “who done it” part that was the big surprise. One of the reasons I like mystery is because I like the anticipation of figuring out the villain. In Maggie, it’s quite a trick. I thought I had it, but then I didn’t, then I had it, but then I didn’t. A thoroughly enjoyable book……and did I mention the ghost? A sweet little paranormal story with quite an interesting little twist.
Maggie is the first book in Mya O’Malley’s Maggie Trilogy. It’s a thrilling ghost story with plenty of mystery and suspense. Our heroine, Naomi, finally overcomes her writer’s block when a ghost from the cemetery that backs onto her garden starts haunting her. Determined to tell Maggie’s story, Naomi is torn between creating a fictional version of events and uncovering the truth. With spooky dreams giving Naomi and the reader glimpses into Maggie’s fate as the book progresses, we are drawn into her story. I particularly like Zelda, Naomi’s cat. Zelda plays a hugely important role in the story by first drawing Naomi’s attention to Maggie’s grave, and is always up to various antics. Full of character, Zelda is a great companion for Naomi and a catalyst (CATalyst!) for events. There’s also a strong cast of (human) secondary characters. I was amused by Naomi’s friend Amy’s unfortunate attempts to set Naomi up with dates. I was entranced by little Holly’s instant affection for Naomi and her father Bryce’s warmth. For me, this is a four star book. It kept me on edge throughout – a real page-turner. I’d recommend for fans of the paranormal. A great book to snuggle up with on a cold, dark night!

Maggie (Maggie Trilogy Book 1) by Mya O’Malley was an exciting read. I loved the romance, mystery, and paranormal aspect of the story. Naomi is new to the town and is an author. Her new muse is a ghost haunting had. She is also dealing with issues from a past romance and is torn between two new guys. She is determined to figure out what happened to her muse and caused her to die. Maggie was too young to die.
The storyline is amazing and easy to get lost in. I could not put this book down. The characters were developed well and realistic. I found it easy to place myself in Naomi’s shoes in the story. I can’t wait to read the next book in this collection. I highly recommend it!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to share your home with an unearthly spirit who can’t find closure? Living on the edge of a cemetery with souls dating back to the 1700s would be enough to spook anyone, but Naomi finds it oddly romantic, and becomes inspired to write her next novel. Why not, when her muse, Maggie, calls to her from beyond her own window?
After all, the story couldn’t possibly be as complicated as Naomi’s own love life. Torn between Ryan, the mysterious and seemingly perfect man she just started dating, and Bryce, the sexy single dad who recently moved in next door, Naomi must navigate the tangled web of dating—all while trying to solve the mystery of Maggie’s death.
When things turn dangerous, Naomi quickly learns whom she can trust and, more importantly, whom she can’t. Will she be able to write Maggie’s story and finally give Maggie the peace she deserves?

Maggie by Mya O’Malley “Have you ever wondered what it would be like to share your home with an unearthly spirit who can’t find closure?” This book gripped my attention and never let it go! It’s an intriguing story that keeps you reading to find out what’s next Between Ryan and Naomi as well as Naomi and Bryce. Mrs. O’Malley has done a great job with giving you the details you need to picture the story as you’re reading it! Following Naomi, as she tries to write maggie’s story and deals with a dating dilemma with a twist of Danger Makes this book a true page-turner. I look forward very much to read more from Mrs. O’Malley I enjoy her writing style.
Naomi has finally met one of her adult goals and moved into a beautiful old house built in the 1700’s. Sure the house backs up to a cemetery that borders her property lines but being a writer that should give her inspiration, shouldn’t it? Naomi finally ended a terrible relationship with a guy called Nick and her best friend is setting her up with blind dates, begrudgingly. Arriving at the restaurant Naomi discovers her date is late and when he shows Naomi is less than impressed with him and his self importance. After heading to the bar she orders the same drink as the stranger sitting there and strikes up conversation. Realising she likes this guy they begin spending lots of time together.
When Ryan turns up to Naomi’s house he his blown away by the history not only of the house but the cemetery and surrounding property as well. Naomi has begun to notice strange things happening in her home and her cat Zelda is going crazy. Along with Ryan, Naomi explores the house and the cemetery at the back of her property. It is there that Naomi is drawn to a grave with a headstone that says Maggie T. Field. Naomi sets about finding Maggie’s story and vows to put all the pieces together to help Maggie rest in peace. Naomi soon discovers that the presence in her home and in her dreams needs help. Naomi ever the writer decides that Maggie’s story needs to be told and convinces Ryan to be her partner in crime to help her solve the mystery of what happened to Maggie. As Naomi investigates things start to turn dangerous and she starts to wonder just who she can trust and who she can’t and what the real story is. Things she once thought were real may not be so. Can Naomi find the truth and write Maggie’s story finally giving them both closure?
This book is full of twists and turns that will leave you on the edge of your seat and see you right there with Naomi trying to solve Maggie’s mystery. There will be tears so grab the tissues. Mya weaves a hell of a good story and I can’t wait to read the next installment.
Maggie by Mya O’Malley is the first book by the author that I have read. The story pulls you slowly in from the first chapter on. It does not start at all like your everyday ghost story so you relax and go with the flow rolling your eyes when Naomi goes to another awful blind date and deals with a horrible and abusive ex. At the same time, you can feel something creeping in from the side with the objects moving on their own and shadows blinking in and out. I love how Naomi has such an open mind and instead of being weary of the cemetery and all the spirits inhabiting it, she looks at it as a source of inspiration. The author has an amazing ability to blend the romance and paranormal and I can see how even the ones not believing into paranormal might be thinking “maybe it is possible” if they really allow the story to come alive and be honest with themselves. I love that it is not a ghostly love story but something deeper and more meaningful. The story keeps you captivating and at the edge of your seat until the last page – I loved the way Mya weaved different stories into the main story, it never got boring or let you down. I can see myself going back and re-reading Maggie and also reading other Mya’s books.
