Stormy’s Thunder (Satan’s Devils MC Utah #2) by Manda Mellett – Review by Angela Hayes

Stormy's Thunder (Satan's Devils MC Utah #2)Stormy’s Thunder by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Stormy’s Thunder is the second book in Satan’s Devils MC Utah Chapter Series by Manda Mellett. I have eagerly followed the Satan’s Devils since the very beginning, all through the original series and on to the newer spin-off chapters. And as always, I know I can rely on Ms. Mellett to deliver a story that not only captures my attention, but will also bring some unexpected developments, which inevitably make me sit up and really take notice.
To be honest though, I really didn’t like Storm going into this book- having met him previously. But as the story progressed and we were taken back in time, I was given a different perspective of the man- and Stormy and Ms. Mellett not only won me over, but had me rooting for him (and Cat) right till the end.
As always, if you love a really beautifully written and riveting MC story- with complex, quirky and endearing characters, steam and sizzling, emotion, action, suspense, and dramatic developments- then you definitely won’t want to miss this. Be warned though, as you may discover that one of Ms. Mellett’s books may prove addictive, and one will never be enough!

Thank you, Manda Mellett!

Stormy’s Thunder (Satan’s Devils MC Utah #2) by Manda Mellett
Genre – Romantic suspense, contemporary romance, MC romance
Page Count – 380 pages
I’m a man haunted by my mistakes of the past. I’d achieved my dream, lost it, then found my place with the Satan’s Devils MC. Of course, being me, I blew that as well. Worse, I walked out on my brothers.
Is this who I want to be? Of course it’s not, who sets out to be a failure?
When I get an opportunity to become a new man, I grab it with both hands, but before I can make the most of the chance, history catches up with me. I become snared in a web from which I can’t escape and at its centre is a spider intent on killing me.
It’s too late for redemption, unless I beat the odds and stay alive. But damn it, it’s hard. How can one body take so much punishment and not die? It wouldn’t be possible unless a man is driven to protect the woman he loves.
Because if I don’t survive, neither will she.

Manda’s life’s always seemed a bit weird, starting with a childhood that even today she’s still trying to make sense of, then losing her parents in the late teens. Going from the tragic to the bizarre, who else could be unlucky enough to have had two car accidents, neither her fault, one involving a nun, and another involving a police woman?

There isn’t enough space to list everything that’s happened to Manda, or what she’s learned from it. But by using the rich fabric of her personal life, psychology degree, varied work experiences, and amazing characters she’s met, Manda is able to populate her books with believable in-depth characters and enjoys pitting them against situations which challenge them. Her books are full of suspense, twists and turns and the unexpected.

Manda lives in the beautiful countryside of Essex in the UK, the area’s claim to fame being the Wilkin’s Jam Factory at nearby Tiptree. She can usually find jars of jam which remind her of home wherever she goes. As well as writing books and reading, Manda loves walking her dogs and keeping fit. She lives with her husband of over 30 years, who, along with her son, is her greatest fan and supporter.

Manda is thankful that one of the more unusual, and at the time unpleasant, turns her life took, now enables her to spend her time writing. Confirming, in her view, every cloud has a silver lining.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is Grumblers and Mary’s story. And it was interesting because its an older couple and that isnt something you see often. These two are matched perfectly. Its a slow pace but works perfectly because its a bit more in depth. This is quickly becoming a fantastically favorite series of mine!!! Bravo Manda!!!!

Grumblers Ride is book 2 in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series, by Manda Mellet.

The story starts with Grumbler….who certainly earns his name at first. He’s an older member of the club and you get the impression he’s seen almost everything. His bike is his pride and joy, so when he agrees to it ‘modelling’ in a photo, he gets annoyed very quickly when his fee isn’t paid.
Mary is having the same problem, except it’s her daughter who’s waiting for her modelling fee. She didn’t want her seventeen year old daughter involved in this anyway, but there’s no going back now, and she deserves to be paid rather than conned.
Grumbler and his MC brothers soon come up with a plan, and when grumbler spends more time with Mary and Alicia, we begin to see the softer side to him….there’s more to him than his name lets on.
I loved the relationship between Grumbler and Mary, she softens his grumpiness and he brings her out of her shell and shows her there’s more to life that she’s been missing out on. I would recommend this story, and can’t wait to read more books in the series now.

I simply adore this author and with this book she’s done it again! Grumblers Ride is Book 2 in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series. This time we take a look in to Grumbler’s life. Being one of the older members of the MC, he has never had anyone special to call his own and not to mention that he never wanted to either. He also never had or desired having kids. His Harley Davidson is the love of his life, that is until he meets a young girl and her mother. Mary is raising her 17 year old daughter Alicia on her own since her husband passed. When these two meet they form a friendship. When things start taking a turn for the worse they get closer until one day it just clicks for Grumbler. Now that the situation that they found themselves in, Grumbler decides he wants Mary as his own. This story was so great because it reached to those who are older. It isn’t about a young guy and girl trying to find someone. I was able to connect to the book in that way. However, I do have to mention that in Manda Mellett style, this book was so incredibly good. I love all of her MC series and continue to want to read more and more of her books. I recommend this book to anyone who loves MC books!

Grumbler’s Ride (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #2) by Manda Mellett is a great love story. People caught up in situations they never expected to be in with people they never expected to be with. I love how Manda Mellet’s stories deal with the evil underbelly of our society and the justice it so richly deserves. There are adult situations in this story that some may find uncomfortable and there is violence. But generally, it’s a sweet love story.

Grumbler’s Ride is the second novel in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series. It follows Grumbler, Lost’s sargent-in-arms.

Grumbler is one of the oldest members of the club and was in the club when everything went down with Snake. He has never had a family, or kids, or anything but the club and his bike.

Mary is a single mom of a teenage daughter. She is struggling like most parents do with how to balance her child almost being an adult, but not quite being there yet.

I really enjoyed the second installment of this series and truly cannot wait to delve more into this series and this author’s other series!

This book didn’t disappoint! I loved the first book in the series and this one is even better. There are some dark parts (could be a trigger for some) but the relationship between the older couple Grumbler and Mary make it so worth it. The way that Grumbler steps in to help Mary and her teenage daughter is heartwarming. The fact that members of other chapters assist each other is nice to see. I really like the San Diego chapter and I’m looking forward to reading the other series Ms. Mellett has written to learn about those chapters.

Being Lost (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1) by Manda Mellett – Review by Betsy Melano

Being Lost (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #1)Being Lost by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by Manda Mellett. I think it might even be the first book I’m reading about a biker chapter. I’ve enjoyed learning about how the San Diego chapter functions, all the different businesses they run, and what their beliefs are. The chapter prez “Lost” is an older member who even after having this position for several years, he still feels unworthy. The chapter is notified by a chapter in Colorado to keep an eye on some family members under whiteness protection. When Lost meets Patsy, he immediately feels a connection and it seems Patsy does too. It’s nice to see these older characters find interest in each other. This is a great beginning to a series and I’m looking forward to learning more about the characters we meet in this book.
