I was hesitant to read Wrong for Him due to it being the third installment in the Love Lottery Series, but I was pleasantly surprised when I had no trouble following the story or characters. Very few instances in this book referenced anything from the other books in the series so it could easily be a stand alone read. Christi Barth has a well written story and amazing characters that are so well developed that I wished that I could be their friend! It took me a while to dive into Wrong for Him, but ultimately well worth it! I am looking forward to reading the other two books in the series, if in the wrong order. I would recommend this book to fans of friends-to-lovers and best-friend’s-sister romances.

I absolutely loved No Strings Attached from start to finish! Lara Ward Cosio develops realistic characters and a fantastic storyline. This book was easy to read and easy to follow and understand. The main characters, Kayla and Tanner, embark on a journey together that ignites passion and love in each that neither one is prepared for. It’s a modern day fairy tale complete with ups and downs along the way, and just enough spice and lust to keep it exciting! I look forward to reading more from Lara Ward Cosio. No Strings Attached is a must read for anyone who loves feel-good romance!

Wow! Stormwood is hauntingly scary, and I couldn’t put it down! Such character building and story telling all rolled into a neat, almost sorrowfully short, book. Luna Mayfield uses romance to spice up this paranormal tale, but the haunting elements remain the focal point. Mayfield also includes a little familial history along the way. Intriguing and original, I recommend Stormwood to those brave enough to weather the chills and goosebumps. I can’t wait to see what other tales Luna Mayfield spins.

The first book in the Born Bad series, Deadly Words is a chilling, psychological, page-turner. I could not put this book down! The ending definitely left me wanting more and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series! Meghan O’Flynn has written an original, creative, realistic story that draws the reader in and doesn’t let go. I simultaneously wanted to be Poppy’s friend and turn her in to the authorities. This story includes elements of manipulation, murder, revenge, lies, and so much more. I recommend this book to anyone looking for edge-of-your-seat reading.

Wesley Britton’s Return to Alpha: A New Saga Begins is a wonderfully imaginative and well-written story about a topic written many times before…aliens. However, Return to Alpha explores the topic in a relatively new way by connecting the aliens to Alpha-Earth by their home planets of Beta-Earth and Cerapin-Earth, Earths that exist in parallel universes to ours. Britton’s writing is easily read, flows well from thought to thought, and gives the characters a realistic quality that makes you want to know their stories. Published earlier this year, 2021, this book is eerily similar to the pandemic still sweeping across the globe presently. I look forward to reading more of Wesley Britton’s works.

M. Billiter’s first book of The Divided Series, A Divided Mind, explores one family’s journey with mental health diagnosis. Branson finally admits to hearing voices after blacking out and coming to with bloody knuckles. A Divided Mind looks at mental illness from the perspective of the individual with the illness (Branson) as well as the perspective of those around him (his mother and siblings). Based off the author’s own personal journey, and that of her son, this book delves deep into the roller coaster ride of diagnosing and treating mental illnesses. A Divided Mind has me smiling, frowning, and crying (lots of crying). Not only were the characters realistic, right down to a dramatic mother, but the back and forth narrative from Branson to Tara (his mother) allowed me to see how others view mental illness. I am looking forward to reading Book 2 in this series!

This is the first time I’ve read anything by Natalina Reis, but I will definitely be searching for more! Dating the Intern is a feel-good, rom-com that also includes an element of emotional abuse. This element of realism made me fall in love with the character Ivory all the more! Despite her battling demons in her head daily, Ivory slowly begins to overcome her past to live and love in her present! Ivory’s handsome intern, Li Qiang, offers to help her out when she’s in a bind, but their chemistry for one another is hard to resist! Natalina Reis delivers with laughter, love, and a whole lot of heart!

The third installment of the Heron Harbor series does not disappoint. Hold Me Forever can be read as a stand alone or in conjunction with the previous two books. Lea Nolan creates relatable characters and realistic environments with her descriptive writing. Hold Me Forever is humorous, romantic, and full of twists and turns. Lea Nolan keeps you on your toes and wanting more! Lark and her sisters have such a good relationship with one another; enviable for this only child! Lark’s free spirit and artistic nature shines through and makes the reader want to take a trip with her in her less than reliable Winnebago. I will definitely be reading the other two books in this series to experience more adventures with the Donovan sisters!

The Dream Catchers by J.U. Menon is an amazing book for all ages! I read this to, and along with, my 7-year-old daughter and we both loved it! The characters are believably realistic and the plot is extremely imaginative. We were all imaginative children once, and The Dream Catchers transported me back to that time of wonderment and awe. J.U. Menon’s writing is descriptive, yet easy enough for younger readers to understand. This book pulls you in from the beginning and takes you on an amazing adventure through the dream world of Prestoria. I look forward to more books by J.U. Menon.

From start to finish, Bared (Green St. Girls #1) had me captivated! The characters that N. D. Jackson writes about are all thought out, relatable, and completely likeable! It had me wishing I had friends like those girls when I was younger. All of the characters dealt with their losses and triumphs in their own ways, but the connection between them all is truly amazing. Jackson showed how much each character cared for the others. This contemporary romance also has a surprising element in the sport in which Tru plays, billiards. Athena and Tru’s relationship created such a whirlwind of emotions within me and I found myself celebrating their triumphs, scowling at their setbacks, and crying with the thought of them ending. This is definitely a must read and a newly found author for me! I can’t wait to read more from N. D. Jackson!

James Talisman has the gift of descriptive writing! I am normally not big into the Sci-Fi genre, but Talisman’s writing style and character development, along with his story building, had me excitedly turning pages. It did take me a while to understand the immenseness of the characters and worlds in this book, but Talisman’s talented use of descriptive words had me feeling as though I were in the multiverse along with them. Journeys Through SpaceTime is an amazing work of art full of otherworldly characters, amazing settings, and a sense wonder at the vastness of life and our interconnectedness with everything around us. I don’t think I’ll be switching my overall reading to this genre anytime soon, but I will definitely be seeking out more from Mr. Talisman.

This is not just for fans of mythology but anyone who enjoys humor, suspense, and a little bit of romance! This will be on my “must read again” list.
