Can Dreams Come True? (Book One of the Cecily Taylor Series) by Krysten Lindsay Hager was a really good read! I’m not going to lie. It wasn’t until about the halfway point that I really got into this book. It felt kind of drawn out in a way, but also very naive. Cecily seemed like such a pushover, and very docile I think is the word? I felt like she let things go too far with Zach while he pushed her for the same exact thing. It seemed very toxic to me, and I didn’t enjoy that relationship at all. However, once Cecily started kind of speaking and saying what she actually thought, she became much more likeable. Overall though this was a really good read and I would definitely recommend it as a coming of age story and I can’t wait to read the next installment!

Strings Attached: A Braebeach Rock Romance by Loriana Cappello. I just love a good sink into love story about second chances. From the first page I knew I’d love this story and I definitely was right. The characters are complex and truly engaging, they pulled me in so completely I definitely lost track of time lots of time during my reading. The storyline is well written and paced nicely. I won’t be forgetting these characters or all the feelings this author made me feel for a while. So excited to see what else this author has to offer. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

Professor Valentine was a student – teacher short romance. I thought the book was ok but felt it was lacking something. Cassandra was a student and started to have feelings for a professor who was going thru a divorce and made her feelings known after embarrassing herself in his office. Diego keeps pushing Cassie away and even makes up lies to try to get her to move on so she doesn’t ruin her education. This was the first book I’ve read by this author.

This is the first book in a new series of standalone novellas set in the fictionalised Kirk University. First year psychology student Cassie Rodriguez is at University to both work hard and party hard and definitely not to fall in love. However during her tutorials with Diego Valentine her seminar lecturer, the chemistry between them is hard to ignore. Cassie and Diego have to decide whether to act on their feelings, or keep their relationship a secret. This is an enjoyable and engaging forbidden love novella. A fairly quick read but one which took me on an emotional rollercoaster. I fell in love with both Cassie and Diego who were likeable and realistic characters. The chemistry between them really came across in the narrative and led to some steamy scenes. I look forward to reading future books in this series by Diana Vale.

I’m really getting into N.L. Holmes’ books and The Sun at Twilight is another fantastic read! It’s the fourth in the Empire at Twilight series – set in the 13th Century BCE near the end of the Hittite Empire. The books focus on different characters during this period – in this case, it is the King Tudhaliya IV. As I’ve said before, N.L. Holmes does a fantastic job of bringing historical worlds to life. She draws on historical evidence to inform the stories and their settings, creating vivid pictures of what life might have been like. Empire at Twilight takes place in a time and place I knew very little about so it has been very educational, as well as inspiring me to look into what artefacts have survived from this period. The story is exciting and compelling. It opens with the protagonist mourning his late father and setting out his hopes and fears for his coming reign. There are already plenty of complications in family dynamics and allegiances, and people waiting to take advantage of the change in leadership. As the story progresses, there are even more twists and turns. For me, this is a five star book. I would recommend this series to adult readers who enjoy historical fiction and want to be transported far back in time.

Hooks little mermaid is a new version of the classic tale of Peter pan with a twist a certain sea witch and mermaid are involved. It’s great I loved it. You finally understand why captain Hook and Peter actually have a feud. Captain James Shaw who we come to know as Captain Hook was by far my favourite character he was written so well and you really see him in a different light, you will be pleasantly surprised

I enjoyed this sweet romance story. This is a new author for me and I can’t wait to see what is next for her. This is a well developed story about Stone who is all of a sudden faced with real responsibility and Emmerslyn who is finally getting her practice started. What she didn’t expect was for him to walk into her life. Now he is faced with someone who needs him and someone who has his heart. What will fate have in store for them? They are really great characters that are relatable and made me feel as if I was right there with them. It was entertaining reading their story as well as a page turner. I highly recommend finding out what happens to these two by reading this book.

This is a young adult story that is a little dark and I loved reading it. This is an author I have loved from the first time I picked up one of her books. I was pulled into the story from the first word. It is a fast paced, well written story that kept me turning pages to the end. The characters are relatable and bring the story to life. They made the story easy to read. This is a story about a young girl whose life is just a struggle. She is in search of ways to make her feel less lonely and most of all less pain. She struggles everyday but will she find the light? Will the people who care about her help bring light into her or will the darkness just take over? I loved watching the characters grow throughout the story and what they bring to the story. I am glad I picked up this book and I think you will too. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This is a well written story that has characters that not only bring the story to life but also took me on an adventure of redemption. The characters are relatable and kept me turning pages to see what they would do next. This is a story of a race against time to save thousands of people and a conspiracy that is broken wide open. What happens next I highly recommend reading to find out. This truly is a great story that took me on a nonstop adventure.

Hacker is the 2nd book in the Mercenaries Series by Nadine Travers. Although part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. When I read this book I didn’t realise that there had been a book before it and did not feel that I was missing any necessary information. Although having now read Hacker, I’d love to go back and read Renegade’s story. This is a really great, well written, free flowing book that keeps the reader engaged from the very beginning and doesn’t let you go until the end. The story is packed with content and will drag you through many emotions. Chris ‘Hacker’ Montgomery is unable to forget the girl he met 6 months ago who subsequently vanished so what happens when Marie appears and asks him to protect her and her sister from their mafia father? I thoroughly enjoyed Hacker and Marie’s story. They are both great characters that you can’t help but fall in love with and want them to have their well deserved HEA. This is not all flowers and romance, This book is packed with action, danger, intrigue and mystery. The romance part is just a nice added extra. If you like a mafia romance with a bit of a difference then this book is for you. I really can’t wait to read more from this series.

Mystery of the Lost Avenger (Book 4) is a wonderful blend of historical fiction and mystery. This is my first read from Linda Maria Frank and I found her writing style, plot and pacing admirable. I also love reading about anything WWII, and there’s plenty of intrigue and adventure to keep you turning pages. I recommend this for readers of all ages.

Its the story of Cassie who is a student studying psychology at the local University. Cassie wants to be a child psychologist so she takes the extra tutorials from Professor Valentine. When she meets him she almost melts. He is gorgeous and seems so personable asking her not to call him sir but to call him Diego! She is rattled and ends up getting sick in his office! What an impression. Continuing on with her tutorials and seeing Diego out and spending time with him its not long before sparks fly! Diego tries really hard to stay professional but its getting harder every day. If you like paranormal fantasy stories, look no further Jean GIll is an amazing author. This is the third book in the series and even though it can be a stand alone book, I highly recommend reading the first two books to have the back knowledge of what is going on and who is who. The plot-line pulled me from the first page of the book until the last word. It has action and adventure around each corner. The characters are unique and complicated. The journey you take with them will keep you on your toes. You need to have eyes in the back of your head to see what is going on behind you as well as in front of you. The imagination of Jean Gill is in full force and I cannot wait to see what she has coming next. I highly recommend this book and the whole series especially if you like fantasy and paranormal stories.

This book was different then any other rockstar romance I’ve read, it took a while to get into but after I was in I was COMMITTED! You won’t be disappointed in this book, it is refreshing that it didn’t end up following the typical small town boy and girl fall in love, boy gets famous and leaves and then years down the road he comes back to realize he’s made a mistake. No In this book they’ve known each other for most of their lives but never acted on their feelings until it’s time for Ash to follow his dreams of becoming famous. Truly, this is such an exciting series! I loved book 1 so much that I binge read book 2 in a matter of a day! Her ability to interweave fairy tales, stories, and nursery rhymes is so enjoyable! You just never know who you are going to meet next!
The pace of the book kept me reading to find out what happened next, and I was surprised by who was introduced as new characters to continue with Hook’s mission to save the little mermaid. Just when I thought I knew what would happen next, there was an unexpected twist!

This is the first book by Vale I’ve read but it won’t be my last. Vale knows what she’s doing and keeps readers interested in the book. Professor Valentine is a great start to a new series.
Cassie is a freshman at Kirk University and is trying to accomplish her dreams. She wants to work in child psychology and is working her way to it. Her Professor is not the old type, but younger and hot. The quote I chose for Cassie is: “Nah, I’m still recovering from last night.”
Diego Valentine is the youngest professor to date and he is hot. When one student catches his eye things change. He does what isn’t allowed and loves every moment of it. Cassie is the best student and a great person. The quote I chose for Diego is: “Don’t mention it. The staff do have cleaners. I just told them that one of my students was a little sick. Don’t worry, I didn’t say who.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

Diego Valentine is a Professor at Kirk University, he teaches Psychology and his students really enjoy his classes, plus he is easy on the eye which is a bonus. Cassie Rodriguez is a first year under-graduate studying Psychology at Kirk University, but she is all about studying hard, but she does enjoy playing hard too and being a fresher, that is an easy thing to do, but between the two, she has no time for romance or relationships.
So she can really get to grips with the seminar materials for child psychology Cassie signs up for some extra tutorials with Professor Valentine, but when she rolls in late for her first one still a bit worse for wear and looking it too and the complete opposite of the gorgeous man sitting opposite her, who insists she calls him Diego and not sir, she ends up embarrassing herself by throwing up in his office,]. Cassie is utterly mortified, but he is understanding and also trying to suppress laughter at the same time, but he promises not to tell anyone about what happened, but she decides that when she next sees him, she is going to look better and prove that she isn’t just what her first impression showed. The next day she intends to go and see him before lectures, but instead runs into friends from her class and ends up spending most of the day with them, however, as luck might have it, when they go for coffee later on, Diego is there as well, so they end up chatting for a little but and agree that she should book another session on the University portal and he gives her a hint when his next free one is with a wink.
As time goes on and Cassie continues in her studies and tutorial meetings with Diego, she keeps making an effort and finds that they spend as much time talking as they do going over notes, but when their attraction raises its head, she realises that it is mutual, but because they are a student and teacher, Diego tries to stay professional, but finds that it is becoming harder to do.
Will they be able to keep their relationship professional, or will their secret be revealed to the rest of the world? This is a short tale of romance which deals with secrets, revelations and forbidden love which sweeps you along for the ride.

This novella starts out like other rom coms, describing the scene of Cassie, an 18-year-old, who has always worked hard and never let herself have any extra fun if it interrupted with her studies. This all changes when she attends Kirk where she falls in love with Diego. Not only is he older than her but he is also her teacher. Due to the nature of the novella a lot happens in a very short period, so the novel goes from slow moving for the first few pages to action packed until the end of the book. Things move at a very fast pace which makes for an enjoyable read for someone who wants to know the ending quickly.

Epic-Dystopian is not a genre that I would normally read, but the book cover drew me in when I walked past it on the library shelf. I’m glad that I picked this book up to read as it was filled with many things I do like in books: magic, danger, drama, and great characters. I must admit that the book drew me in from the beginning to the end and I felt like I was on a wild fantasy ride I didn’t want to jump off. The author knows how to use description to truly make you feel like you are in this story. By the end of the book, I felt like I knew the characters personally and that at some point in my lifetime I had met many of them. It is certainly a tale of finding out who your true friends are, and which ones will stab you in the back to overthrow you. Apparently this is the ending of a trilogy written by this author and I have placed the previous two on my library wish list so that I can read the entire collection.

This is the 4th book in the Chase Security Series. And this book is just as gripped as the others. The author does an amazing job of bringing the characters to life and with the mixture of romance and danger they make for a compelling read.

Kissing the Kavalier by Annette Nauraine is a well written historical romance that completely drew me in. I loved the characters in this book and the romance that builds between them. The way it comes about is so heartwarming and really made me connect with the two of them. You could feel the chemistry from the moment you started reading. The book felt accurate for the time period it was written in and I liked that it was set in Austria. Most books in this genre I have read are set in England so this was a refreshing change. This is a new author to me and I enjoyed how she approached the book. The writing style had a great flow about it and she did a great job of building up the story and the characters. I really enjoyed this book and I will certainly be looking to read more from her in the future.

Chris has spent most of his professional career behind the keyboard and has got the nickname “Hacker”, but on a night out all that changes when he meets Maria. They end up in bed together and he feels like his world is finally complete until the morning light brings the foreboding realisation, she is gone with no way of contacting her.
After six months of searching everywhere she is a ghost and when he feels he needs to give up the ghost she comes crashing into his life with one scared phone call and then shit gets real.
Maria is brave and strong but her family is slowly chipping down the resistance she has built up, but one action will rock the world she lived in or survived in and she wants out. The only person she can think to help her walk out on him six months ago will be the man she hopes he is and helps her leave the world she hates but she needs to protect her sister as well, will he help them both?
OMG is all I am saying at the moment, let me breathe. I loved this story if you have not already realised, the characters were brilliant both flawed but still had love to give in their hearts. The relationship between Chris and Maria was brilliant, the initial reaction was pure lust but as they got to know each other and their relationship built up you got to see the smouldering passion and love building was just brilliant to read.
This is a well-developed story full of action and grit to get your teeth into. I loved that the rest of the secondary characters were invested within the mission and that their loyalty to each shone through within the writing. Whenever there is a strong leading woman sometimes the author goes overboard with the hung go attitude but I felt that the character of Maria had just the right amount of vulnerability to make her believable and someone you wanted to route for. As this is my first book by this author this book can be read as a stand alone but I am definitely going to read the first book in this series and can’t wait for more books to come out in this series. The World Beyond The Walls: epic dystopian eco-fantasy by Jean Gill is the third book in the Natural Forces series. This is the final book in the trilogy and was an brilliant end of the series. This book is easily the best one in the series. I fell back into this story and the characters so easily. This book is every bit as exciting and and intriguing as the previous books and I found that pages basically turned themselves. Once I started reading I just couldn’t stop. The author has created a brilliant fantasy world with such a strong group of friends right at the centre. With everything they have been through already I could not wait to see what this book had in store for them. It was well written and engaging and I thoroughly enjoyed every part of this book. I would highly recommend this whole series to any fan of the genre.

When I was younger, I used to love the whole student-teacher romance thing. Thought it was really hot and taboo (which made it hotter) and of course, and I couldn’t get enough of them. Back then, of course, I wasn’t married to a teacher. For some reason, this little fact has changed the way I see these books, or at least this one because I’ll admit I haven’t read one in a while, and instead of hot sexiness I was cringing something fierce. I will admit though that, as student-teacher romances go, this is written really well and packs a small punch in the short space it’s given. It could have been a little longer in my opinion, simply so that the characters could be explored a little more, and their interactions could have had more space to breathe. At times I felt that their relationship was rushed, and while Cassie was all up for it, I thought that Vale could have made more of Diego’s reluctance and caution. So, Cassie is a student studying psychology at University. There she meets none other than Diego, the unbelievably sexy, recently divorced lecturer who is attracted to Cassie against his better judgment. They do have chemistry, it is evident from the get-go, my only issue is that you don’t really get to know why. I know that sounds daft, but given the shortness of the story, you don’t really get a chance to explore that and understand why out of all the students Diego would have seen and come across, Cassie is different. Honestly, though I feel like I can’t judge appropriately anymore because this genre has been ruined for me a little bit, all I found myself doing was scoffing at Diego’s unprofessionalism which might get some people going, but it doesn’t really light my fire if you know what I mean. I just kept screaming at Diego that he was the adult in the scenario and should act accordingly, which I don’t think is what Vale had in mind when she wrote this. This is written from Cassie’s perspective and I think Vale gets the character spot on. There is an innocence to her and a vulnerability which I think is perfectly written, for both her age and situation. It’s a shame that younger me couldn’t have found this because I probably would have adored it and spent my time fantasizing about my own Diego. Anyone that loves the taboo romances that are steamy and sizzling with sexual tension, then this is for you.

I really enjoyed this sweet romance between a professor and his student. The characters were so well written you feel every emotion they go through and for a short book it contains so much emotion its a really great read.
Cassie is an amazing student. Only ever focused on her studies she doesn’t have time for dating and doesn’t believe in love. That is until she falls for her psychology professor and her whole world turns upside down.
Are their feelings for each other true? Can they be together with everything that’s against them? And will they be brave enough to take the chance or will one of them end up heartbroken.
