Mermaid and the Rainbow: Mermaid Science by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Karen Pearman

the mermaid and the rainbowthe mermaid and the rainbow by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

For a children’s book, this is quite a way to introduce science into the lives of our kids. I found it to be extremely interactive for the kids and was great science experiments for them to try on their own. My kids loved it. The colors were so vibrant and jumped off the pages. I also loved the theme of using the mermaid to help engage the kids and teach them the lessons. I also found it to be quite interesting and learned some things I didn’t know along the way. I would highly suggest purchasing this book for your kids or for other kids as gifts. This would be a perfect gift for an elementary science teacher’s room. Please give it a read.

Beelzebub: The Gift of Glutony (A Sinful Seven Novel) by JC Brown & Lena Lane – Review by Kerry Carr

Beelzebub The Gift of Gluttony (Sinful Seven, #2)Beelzebub The Gift of Gluttony by J.C. Brown
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really fun and flirty paranormal romance story. It was a really good read and I loved how the relationship between the characters progressed through the story. The author does an amazing job of making the paranormal and the events in this story seem so real. This is book 2 in the Sinful Seven series.

Beelzebub is definately sin. As the one of the seven prince’s of hell and his sin is gluttony. His main pleasure is to tempt humans to give into their gluttonous side and then taint their souls. He likes to inhabit the bodies of the people he marks and never has any resistance until he meets Clara.

Clara is an empath. Helping people with her skill drains her energy. When she meets Beelzebub he thinks she will be an easy target but how wrong he is.

What follows is a really good story about this couple, the fights they need to endure between saving Cara’s soul and the war against angel and demons and the strange reason why Beelzebub wants Cara’s soul saved instead of marked. She’s just another human after all right?

I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. It is a short romance, very gripping and has all the elements of a good read in it. Clover is a waitress who has had her fair shares of hardship . She is someone who is waiting for her dream-partner. Shamrock on the other hand is a flirt who has a reputation. News has it that he intends to remain that way When both meet, the sparks fly. And this time Shamrock does get interested. But can Clover forgive his past and move on? This is a very cute romance story I have read in a while. Loved it !!

Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite, #5)Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nothing comes close to how amazing this series is! This author has written 5 amazing books that only get stronger as they go. This book had the right amount of angst, and a good bity of mystery that also intertwined parts that were steamy, suspenseful, intense, and unpredictable, I was prepared to finish this book in one sitting because there is not putting it down with this series.

Luc and Summer had passion and fire together. The chemistry from that one night proved to be enough for a life time. Summer was tough and felt smart and fearless. Luc was a pure Alpha who was complex and not easily trusting of those around him, but still charming enough to make his lady swoon. Their relationship begins unconventionally, but soon blossoms to be more if they can make it through the Mafia underworld in once piece. As Summer’s secrets soon prove to be bigger than believed it becomes a question of if that pull they feel is enough, and if Luc is the one who will save her or walk away.

Wow Wow Wow!! This series is so good but this book is my favorite….I had to hold on tight as this roller coaster of secrets really came to light. This author’s storytelling of this series has really been truly great.

There is some tension between Chains and a new prospect to the Grimm Wolves, Iron. When Chains believes his secret is not safe with Iron, Chains tries to find some secrets about Iron. When the story comes together, families are at stake. The twists and turns really keep you wanting more and I look forward to the next book!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an author that I have loved reading from the first book I picked up. I never hesitate to pick up her books as I know what I am in for. One of the things I love about her books is her ability to pull me into the story with ease. Her writing style is such that it brings her books to a new level with each one that I pick up. This book is no different. This is the second book in the series which I enjoyed just as much if not more than the first. The characters are connectable and pulled me into the story from the beginning. They are creative, unique and I enjoyed how supportive of each other they are. They have great growth throughout the story as well. This is a story about finding a cure that could be impossible and making a huge choice that could affect everyone. You don’t want to miss what happens in this book. It is worth the pick up. I really enjoyed reading this book and what it brought to my afternoon. I highly recommend this book and this author.

I have read a few books from this author and she continues to blow my mind. This book is from the series Welcome to Cupid’s Cove and it could be read as a stand alone. This is a perfect story if you want some sweet romance. These characters had me hooked to this story right from the beginning. It only took me a few hours to devour this book. I can’t wait to see what she will write next.

Nite Fire: Slash & Burn (Book 4) AUDIO BOOK by C.L. Schneider – Review by Bobbi Wagner

This is the fourth book in this series and it is just as great as the previous three.   I have enjoyed the audibles in this series and this book is no different.  The narrator pulled me in with the different types of tones of the characters.  They made it engaging and easy to listen to.  They pull you into the story from the beginning.   In this audible Dahlia is back in another  journey of non stop action. Things will never be the same again, things are changing and things are starting to happen that can’t be stopped. In search of truth, the things she finds only make her question more. Everything is pointing to the beginning of things.   An entertaining story that kept me coming back for more.  This is another great audible by this great author and I highly recommend it.

This story features Lenny (Iron) and Joy and their daughter Everly, but it also features Chains, Winnie and Jackson. I’m so glad everyone gets to have their point of view. As an MC club they all have their brothers back. With every book I read in this series, I get more involved with the characters. The boys are big strong bikers, and the women smooth out their rough edges but still have the strength to hold them together through the rough patches. This series is in the top five of all the books I have read this year. I’m really looking forward to reading the next in the series.

The connection these brothers have in the MC is very telling. Even though they are big bad bikers, they really have hearts of gold. Don’t get me wrong, they are still dangerous and take care of their own first and foremost. This story features Beast and Cathy and their son Ryder. I’ve said this before with this series, getting a glimpse of all the characters in the club in their own point of view is a big yes for me. Sometimes when you get multiple points of view the storylines get messy and hard to understand, but not this series. It just bring you closer to each of the characters. All of the books in this series have grabbed a piece of my heart, but this one is my favorite so far.

The imagination that goes into these stories is amazing. I love that in this series each book is based around one couple, but every one in or related to the club has a voice. This story is Bullet and Clementine’s. This book is a little shorter than the first but it is still packed with mystery and action. I read it in one sitting and was so enthralled. I just want to keep going with the series.

This author really knows how to tell a story. Francis (Stitch) is such an unusual character. I wasn’t sure were this story was going when I first started reading, but it blew me away by the time I reached the end. Francis and Grace are wonderful together, but Damien steal the story and my heart. This book is told from many different viewpoints and I really enjoyed getting everyone’s thoughts. This story is action packed from beginning to end. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store next.

4 Stars

Shamrock & Clover: Fields Apart by C.A. King is a sweet, feel-good, emotional, and engaging romantic package that may be short in pages but packs the ‘reading experience’ of a much larger novel.
I have said this many times before and am likely to keep repeating it again many more times; I am a big fan of Ms. Kings work and have enjoyed all her stories immensely- so it was no great surprise that this book was a winning recipe for me as well. Shamrock & Clover has all the ingredients you could want from a contemporary romantic comedy about opposites attracting and finding love unexpectedly.
Clover has been unlucky in love, until she finds her Shamrock.
Happy reading!

Thank you, C.A. King!

This story really drew me in from the beginning. Abbey is such a strong-willed and relatable character who I know would be a good friend to have. The descriptions of the clowns brought me back to 2016 with the hysteria of the scary clowns attacking people. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat even as I couldn’t stop reading because I just had to know what came next. I adore the dynamic between the soccer team, especially Abbey, Lexi, and Kelly. I love her determined spirit, and I absolutely adore her relationship with her family. Everything good about stories that draws you in is executed beautifully in this book!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ruthless Heir is the 5th book in the Mafia Elite series. Like all the others, it was ah-mazing. I was a little confused at first how the characters fit into the story, as neither seemed to be related. However, it all came together and turned out to be another great addition. I love that the characters are strong and independent on their own, and when together they are even stronger. There were a couple of parts that made me laugh out loud. The chemistry between Luc and Summer was strong, and I love how they fit into the couples from the Five Families. I cant wait for the next book in the series and am super stoked to see there are 2 more to come!

The story follows Harry, who over has gone by many names over many years, and his adventures. I will start by saying that although the first book is not necessary to follow along but makes book two significantly more enjoyable. With that being said, I had a much harder time getting into boom two but having read the first book, I knew it would get better and answers to my questions would be resolved. I enjoyed learning more about Harry and his past lives. The author did a really nice job seamlessly blending the past with the current time while also building wonderful character development. I found myself missing the same people Harry was and wondering what happened to them. We also continue to find out how Tristan is doing and his budding romance with Elena. My favorite interactions will always be with Tristan and Harry. I’m excited to read the third book.

“Reunion in the Outback” written by Nicole Flockton, is the fourth book in the Welcome to Bunya Junction series, but can easily be read as a standalone. Michael and Yolanda were high school sweethearts, who left their small hometown and moved to the city to start a life together. They are now married with a young daughter, but when some intense and emotional stressors appear in their marriage, Yolanda heads back home hoping to rebuild her life. Michael is determined to keep his family together and fight for his marriage. The lack of communication between the couple was very frustrating at times, but I did enjoy the character development.

This is the second book in the series by this author I have read, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first one. I thought this book provided the reader more of the story of the main character, especially his past and what got him to where he is at today. I love her sci-fi writing style and her amazing depiction of the experiences going on in that place and time. This book brought me more emotion than the first book which I honestly was not prepared for, but it was all needed to help with the story arc. She did a great job. I would highly recommend that you read these books in order instead of reading this one first. It will benefit you in understanding how and what you are reading about. Very good read.

Full of secrets, emotions, and crazy twists and turns, put author definitely knows how to keep their readers on the edge of their seats. Claiming My Mate was definitely my kind of book. I loved how Lily’s character developed in this story. My only complaint is major things happen so quickly that I was left feeling a bit dizzy. I think had the author spent just a little more time explaining what was going on and just slowed it down a tad, it would have been better. It seemed like I was missing part of the story by starting with book 2. I’m absolutely going to look for a book two however, because I’m looking forward to reading more from Nicole Howl.

Keeping Secrets is the fourth book in the Grimm Wolves MC Series. I absolutely loved reading this fast paced Romance/MC Romance that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. I swear I was on the edge of my seat from the first page. I’m a huge fan of MC Romance and this book checked all the boxes. I highly recommend reading this series in order as it will help give you a better idea of what each character brings to the MC, plus who doesn’t love a good series? I loved everything about this book, the characters are fun, relatable and pretty easy to fall in love with. The authors style of writing grabs you from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the end. The only negative thing is I want more, more, more. This story has it all from action to drama, secrets, lies and little romance. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I will say parts had my emotions all over the place. If you’re a fan of MC then this is definitely one for you. You won’t be disappointed I know I sure wasn’t. Ruthless Heir (Mafia Elite Book 5) by Amy McKinley – Review by Wendy Wary

Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite, #5)Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I liked how this book started off in a different direction than previous books in the series.

Summer takes a temp job in California after escaping a near-death experience in Georgia. Finding out that her best friend didn’t make it out of the clutch of a New York mobster had Summer acting out of character and hooking up with a hot guy she met at a bar for a one-night stand. Waking up in his posh hotel room, and running late to work, she rushes in to the office only to find out the guy she spent the night with is her new boss. Thanks to her old boss throwing shade her way as he was escorted out, Summer finds that Luc, her one-night stand, now thinks she’s a spy who has worked with his enemies to steal his money.

When a Chicago mob boss shows up at the office and corners Luc while he’s still interrogating Summer, Luc brings her along to meet up with the five families in Chicago until he can figure out how she’s connected to his bank accounts being drained. Meanwhile, Summer fears her escape from Georgia may not have been as seamless as she thought, and she might actually be the reason for the Chicago mafia showing up. Hiding her own secrets, and trying to convince Luc she has nothing to do with his disappearing funds proves to be a challenge as both Luc and Summer get caught up in mafia business in Chicago.

Once again, the characters in this series make it hard not to fall in love with the families who run organized crime in Chicago. It’s a brutal life full of danger, and yet, the bonds with the friends and family in the crime syndicate are strong, loving, and protective. This book delivers, as the previous stories in the series have, on drama, intrigue, mystery, and romance.

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla) by S.B. Alexander – Review by Megan Conley

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla, #1)The Hunted by S.B. Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book does NOT disappoint! From the smexy tension between Sam and Layla to the bond the Aberdeen sisters share to the supernatural aspect of the novel, S.B. Alexander keeps her readers on edge. With her well thought-out plot lines, character development, and descriptions, Alexander has her readers turning pages faster than vampire falls for vampire huntress. I absolutely love how Sam and Layla’s relationship develops over the course of this book, but it’s not overpowering. Alexander has put multiple plot lines in place and she does an excellent job of developing each at a pace that seems very appropriate. The spicy scenes are *chef’s kiss* amazing. They aren’t over-the-top nor are there too many or too few.

This is Sam & Layla Book #1 in the series and it does end on a cliffhanger. I cannot wait for Sam & Layla Book #2 to be released! It has made its way to the top of my TBR list! If you like romance, paranormal/supernatural, or are just looking for something different to read; definitely pick this book up and give it a shot…You won’t be disappointed!

Seductively Yours (Titans Of Manhattan, #3)Seductively Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the third book in the Titans series. I am totally invested in this series. I love how each book is intertwined with the next. The author’s attention to detail when it comes to connecting each book, yet each book centers on a different member of the Titan click. This is what keeps me coming back for the next book. I will say that this book, I felt, did concentrate more on the build-up to the relationship than the actual relationship. This was the steamiest and hottest of the books.
Rhyann is a strong woman who is following her dream of dancing professionally. She leaves her slower pace life in Kanase for the busy streets of Manhatten where she will be enrolled in one of the best dance schools. Rhyann is in for a hard awakening when she realizes she can afford her dream unless she starts making money. The one night she decides to step out of her comfort zone and let lose will be the night that changes her life forever. Some good and some not so good will come from that night. The owner of a few adult nightclubs in various states, Mason makes the rule to never get involved with one of his dancers. He could have any female and has had his share of hookups but the one night he walks into Vault he has no clue who that gorgeous female is that is hanging out with Allie Porter. He’s never seen her before. Little did Mason know that was going to be the night his world would be flipped upside down.
Great book, love the author and can’t wait for the next book in the series.
