This is an author that I really enjoy reading and this book is one of my favorites yet. Her books are creative and engaging. This book is no different. This is a well written, fast paced story that is hard to put down. The characters are steamy and made the story easy to read. They are connectable and pull you into their world. They have great growth and chemistry as well. A story where going backwards is not always a bad thing. What happens with Doctor Frank you don’t want to miss for sure. What will he do when he is faced with a choice of going back to something he said he never would? This is a romance story you don’t want to miss for sure. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Doctor Frank Enstein (Doctors of Eastport General) by C.A. King is Ms. King’s second contribution to this medical romance series: the Doctors of Eastport General collection is a collaboration by several different authors, each releasing their own story set in Eastport General Hospital. This is another by Ms. King, a spicy, short, and sexy read that will keep you in its grasp right through to the end.
Let’s face it, I already love Ms. King’s stories, so it was a given that I would be reading this book as soon as it hit my Kindle. And who doesn’t love a sexy Doctor? I know I sure do…
This novella is a contemporary romance- and although it might be smaller in page numbers, it has the feel and delivery of a much larger novel.
We meet plastic surgeon, Doctor Frank Enstein, who has a passion to help disfigured patients by repairing their damaged flesh and helping them regain some of their lost confidence. He wants to use his position to truly make a difference in the world. When he meets Barbara, their chemistry certainly sizzles, but he might get the wrong impression at first…Barbara, on the other hand, just wants to be feel ‘normal’ and pain free and is desperate for help- she meets Doctor Frank and finally has hope. But has she placed her hope in the wrong hands? Can and will he help her? What starts off as pretty casual, turns out to be so much more than either of them ever expected. What happens makes for a sweet and engaging read.
Looking forward to seeing what Ms. King has in store for us next.

This was a good book. I would be interested to read Coyote Summer to see what the story is like with magical elements. This kind of book is one that makes you uncomfortable and tense because it is a topic that is so real. I found myself getting angry at the situation because of the real life aspect of it and I couldn’t imagine this happening to me or people I knew in my youth. I thought the characters were relatable and you could feel the pressure and angst they were feeling. It definitely fits in the genre of its kind.

His protector is a book about a candidate running for President of the US. Jack is a great guy who everyone loves and is married with a child on the way. A botched attempt on his life kills his wife and unborn child leaving him alone and heartbroken. When he becomes president, the attempts don’t stop and his secret service team works very hard to keep him safe. The head of his SS detail Ginger and Jack become very close over the years and have both gotten Feelings for eachother but, Ginger takes a step back knowing, she cannot keep him safe and protect him while in a relationship with Him.
I thought the book was well written and the characters were well liked but, I felt like it took way to long to get anything between Jack and Ginger.

This is a cute romance for those that thought it couldn’t happen. Barbara has been dealing with a health issue that has left her feeling less confident and in pain. Along comes Dr. Frank. He has never felt this way about any woman. They have a lovely chemistry. A wonderfully quick read that I wish had just a bit more story to it. I loved it anyway and found it quite romantic.

This books is book one of the series. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I wasn’t disappointed. This was such a good book I couldn’t put it down!

Rae has decided, after seeing what it did to her mom, that love is just not for her. She is independent. She gets to travel and see the world. Why would she need to be tied to a man? Dean doesn’t let anything get him down. To make sure of that, he’s swearing off women. Neither one of them expect that one weekend can change everything. Why would they? They are happy with how their lives are.

These characters are so well developed. Rae and Dean are both stubborn. Rae is patient but also knows not to take any crap. Their chemistry just about jumps off the page. You couldn’t help but root for them! This book has some ups and downs and so much heart and emotion. It’s truly well written and I can’t wait to dive into book two. I definitely recommend this book!

This book is book four of the series but can be read as a standalone. I didn’t read the first three books but didn’t feel like I lost anything. It might be a good idea to read them first to be introduced to other characters.

Noah is lost and in over his head as he finds himself the guardian of a baby. He does what anyone would do, calls his brother for help. Luckily his brother knows Amy and Amy happens to be good with kids. At first glance Amy can tell Noah is overwhelmed. She wants nothing more than to help. So she finds herself hired as Amelia’s nanny. Amy is sunshine and rainbows and Noah is definitely not. Can these two get passed their differences? There is so much more to their story but you should really read it yourself.

This was a really good read. The characters have depth and are a tad complicated. There’s secrets and a lot of emotion. This book is well written and I’m glad I picked it up!

This is an interesting take on the world of demons and angels. Kai is an angel of death and he has been trained from birth to kill. He has been taught that demons are evil and do not have emotions but that all changes when he meets Byron. The young demon shows Kai how wrong everything he has been taught is. When Kai is assigned to kill Byron, he begins to question things and lies begin to unravel as Kai and Byron fight to survive.
I enjoyed meeting Kai and Byron. The two are good together and their story pulled me in right from the start. The two quickly endeared themselves to this reader. Kai has gone through a lot in his life and he is surviving but the pain has left its mark. Byron is a young man who sees the good in Kai and trusts him to keep them safe. It was nice to watch their relationship take shape as the two work to figure out why Byron has been targeted. I also enjoyed seeing the relationship and interactions of Byron and his family. Their story moves at a good pace and I was immersed in the world and characters that the author has created.

His Forever Muse is the second book in The Echo series by C.R. Alam. This is a captivating second-chance contemporary romance- a friends to lovers rockstar romance with a best friends sister element threaded through.
Brandon is the front man for rock band ‘Canis Major’. His whole life revolves around his creativity and artistic expression- music, art, and tattoos. So, when he loses his inspiration and his creativity begins to suffer, Brandon’s quest is to find something, well anything really, that will reignite his creative passion. This is where he encounters a blast from the past, in the form of Calliope Chen-Bisset…. will she become “His Forever Muse”? This is well worth the read to find out….
There’s plenty of emotion, chemistry, friendship, suspense, and overcoming past pain to take a chance on love. My favourite of the series, so far.

His Forever Muse is a romantic suspense friends to lover’s second chance story. It is the second book in The Echo series. I enjoyed the first book Echoing Hearts so I was looking forward to seeing the secondary characters from the first book get their own story and what this book brought to the series. I fell in love with this book even more.
Although this story has some domestic violence themes, which may cause some triggers the author did a good job of not writing it graphically.
This heartfelt tale will make your heartache along the way as we watch our female lead find herself in a safe and loving environment that helps her to find herself and her strength once again. There is pain and suffering, angst and fear, tension and suspense and a couple of twists and an unpleasant ex from the past.
I look forward to seeing where C.R. Alam takes us next.

Cry Baby: A Grump Sunshine Slow Burn Romantic Comedy (Pierce Brothers Book 4)

Crying is what I feel like doing knowing I have to say bye to the brothers. I have fallen a little in love with each of them for totally different reasons.

Noah was so hard for me to get any vibes on in the previous books but now I know why. It’s crazy how the brothers were all raised basically the same way but the loss of their Mom impacted them into their adult lives and Noah’s way was to retreat.

Amy is trust into Noah’s life when he desperately needed help. She was there to save the day amongst other things.

I loved seeing Noah progress and evolve throughout the book. He was finally able to move forward after so many years.

I have had the pleasure of reading several books by Ms. Williams and enjoyed every single one. Looking forward to reading more by her in the future. Maybe a spinoff from this series so we can catch up with the boys and their lives???

The Summer I Went Crazy by Laura Koerber is another intriguing story with plenty of thought-provoking content. As always, Ms. Koerber brings realism and complete believability to her story- making you feel like this actually happened.
One Summer that will never be forgotten, for many reasons. Forty years later and it still is plays on the mind and soul. Now, can a phone call change everything?
The story does have an emotive quality about it, and definitely made me ‘feel’ quite a lot as everything unravelled- it does centre around a crazy summer, and does contain sensitive subject matters, as in rape, which is central to the whole story – but this is ultimately a coming-of-age story- with dubious decisions, drama, angst, guilt, turmoil, emotion, and a first-person POV.
This story is a rewrite of Ms. Koerber’s Coyote Summer, but without the fantasy and magical realism. This version is a ‘straight’ up fiction/women’s fiction story- which works really well. It is a bit of a character study too- with the whole coming of age woven through it all.
Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Koerber does next.

Have you considered whether a war is going on during your book, a pandemic, or possibly wherever the automobile has been invented yet? The author talks you through your background information on the book so that once you get in the writing groove, you don’t have to keep stopping. A great resource for a new author or one needing to review basics!

This is an amazing read!! There is a prequel to this book that I suggest you read but you don’t have to in order to dive into this one. Jack and Isaac have off the charts chemistry. It’s been five years since they last saw each other and there is so much they have to say. I was ecstatic when I found out that the author was writing a second generation series. I have loved reading about the Hawkes since the beginning. Jack and Isaac have a lot of feelings and outside problems that they have to work through. This story has action, romance, danger, steamy moments and so much more. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down until I got to the end. This is a must read you don’t want to miss out on.

I am a sucker for a second chance romance always, and this one did not disappoint. I loved Brandon and Callie’s story. Their feelings go way back to their childhood, but they went their separate ways. Will they ultimately find their way back to each other one day? If fate has anything to do with it they certainly will, never without a few bumps in the road of course.

Right off the bat, this book had my full attention. I loved seeing an LGBT+ main character for the series, especially one so well written! Honestly what really captivated me was the wit of Ruarnon’s personality. There’s a lot of world building in the first chunk of this book, which is to be expected with it being a fantasy trilogy. This is my first book by this author, and I’m really impressed with it! The writing style is very detailed, and reminds me almost of Tolkien’s work. It did take me some time to get through it all, but I really enjoyed it and I do recommend it!

Destiny of Light is the third and final book in the Quirk of Destiny Trilogy by Catherine Greenall. As with the rest of the trilogy, this is a gripping dystopian post-apocalyptic thriller with sci-fi elements, action, danger, agendas, good vs evil, GM messages, sinister foes, twists, and plenty of dramatic developments.
As I said with the other instalments, Ms. Greenall cleverly weaves a dynamic, detailed, and incredibly descriptive saga, managing to pack so much tension, intrigue, and thrilling detail into the story. Each book builds onto what has come before- painting a ‘bigger’, more dramatic and yet truly believable picture. As I have said before, I can definitely see this trilogy making a great dystopian movie or TV series.
As each book builds on from the previous, I really recommend reading the first two books before starting on this final instalment, as there is a lot of important plot information, character details, and backstory there that you should know in order to fully understand and appreciate this book.
If you love intense, post-apocalyptic stories with a highly original plot, environmental messages, believability, danger, and plenty of action- then this is definitely the book/series for you.

All I can say is I’m obsessed with Brandon. His Forever Muse is the second book on The Echo Series. I was extremely happy with this read. A fabulous second chance romance story that will make your heart feel it all. I was unable to put this book down. A must read.

Walt and Elyse were a powerful duo. This book was great though not surprised with KG Fletcher. Could the two make two worlds collide and build something beautiful? Read it and you will find out. Honestly such a great novel, perfect length, great story building and the characters are always to die for. Couldn’t put this one down and I say that often but I read this one twice. I didn’t want it to end and I wasn’t ready to let these two go. The chemistry is off the charts and these two are exceptional!

The first book of the Echo Series. Echoing Hearts will take you to amazing places with great characters. You will fall in love with the characters and their intense relationship. I love how the characters are relatable in their own way. This was definitely an easy read and very enjoyable. Definitely recommend reading this book.

Shameless Love is the 2nd book in the Bennetts of Langston Falls series. I did not read the first book, and still enjoyed this, however, I felt like I was missing quite a bit of backstory. The focus of the story is on Elyse and Walt, and their story is a stand alone. However, there is a lot of background family drama at the start and end of the book, that I felt lost regarding. I assume Teddy and Glen’s drama unfolded in book 1. This book did not go the direction I was expecting. The story starts out talking about Walt buying a house, in a questionable way, with some background drama. And then shifts to his sister Becky, and being approached by a cable network Cooking show. Walt offers to chaperone her, and up to this point, is portrayed as a southern country gentleman. However, things turn around at the New Years Eve party, and the book turns to a bit of smut. The focus for the bulk of the book is their building relationship, which was a good story. But, I feel like the beginning and the end, with Walt’s home, and Glen, is a whole other story, that didn’t seem to flow well. It was a little more steamy than I expected, but the author did warn us of that! Overall, not bad, and I would read the others in the story or by the author. I like the close family dynamic the author created.

Emissary was interesting. I liked it but I’ll be honest I didn’t love it. But I won’t take anything away from the author. What the author presented was well written. If you enjoy MM romance with some protective action, this is a book you should definitely check out.
Kai has been assigned to rid the world of demons and watchers. Unfortunately to those above him “the angel of death” cannot justify ridding the world of one demon on his hit list. Byron may be a demon but he has a pure soul. He needs to understand why before going through with his orders. Especially since the stars are telling him otherwise, “that it’s not his time.” It also doesn’t help that he’s attracted to the innocent man.
Byron doesn’t understand why the Emissary spared his life. He has one job and that’s to kill his kind. So why him? He can’t deny that this angel is stunning. He wants him despite him being extremely dangerous.
Kai, taken aback by how Byron sees him, plans to protect him at all costs. They set out on an adventure to answer the question of, why? While being on the run.
I wasn’t a fan of the brutality but I enjoyed the romance and adventure. You may feel differently and this book could be everything you’re looking for. So check it out, because I’m sure no matter what you will find a new potentially favorite author.

This is the 3rd book I’ve read in The Green Brotherhood series and I feel like it’s the best one and most put together. For a book on the shorter end Real Movie Hero I enjoyed it. Fair warning it could very well be a trigger warning for some. I do enjoy this author, I just wish the books were a little longer. I always want more whenever I finish one. The one thing I know I can count on, is all these storylines overlap, so though 1 book might be done but the next one overlaps at a point. Which makes me enjoy the author more.
Both Reed and Christie won tickets on the radio to the next great action movie’s premiere. What they didn’t know was how that night would change their lives. Initially drawn to one another after experiencing a traumatic event they are thrust into each other’s paths. Bringing them even closer together.
Will Reed be the next Seal to fall?
Will Christie get past her fears?
The author hooks you and by the time you’re into it, it’s over and you’re wanting more. This book as well as the series are worth checking out. Especially when you don’t have a lot of time. If you enjoy reading but have little time these shorter books are perfect for you!
