Cry Baby is the first book I’ve read by this author and obviously the first I’ve read of the Pierce Brothers series. This book read well without having read any books prior. Cry Baby was a refreshing rom com that handled loss and grief well. The characters were really well written and I loved to see the progression as the storyline unfolded. As always when I find a book series later in the game, I am really interested in reading more and learning about the tie in characters. I found yet another to add to my ever growing to be read pile. If you’re looking for a slow burn rom com with realistic and enjoyable characters, I recommend Cry Baby.

This is the first book I’ve read from this author, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. She did a fantastic job weaving together a realistic story with romance and tragedy and characters who are just beautifully human. I would love to see more authors tackle the use of therapy to heal from trauma as a way to help normalize it, and this book made great use of it without it overtaking the story. I am not a crier, but this book definitely had me in tears. Can’t wait to read more from this series and author!

What Loretta’s Katydid Did is the fourth book in the Loretta’s Insects series by Lois Wickstrom. This is a fun children’s illustrated storybook full of interesting facts about insects, educational elements, a school science fair, various insects, and an entertaining bit of an adventure. Loretta loves insects and this time her Grammie brings her an orange tree all the way from Florida. Loretta discovers that the tree has aphids which are killing the tree. But because Loretta loves all insects she just can’t bring herself to kill them. Then she finds a Katydid on her tree- and her aphid problem is solved. With her school science fair coming up, her new tree and her love of insects might just make a winning entry. What happens makes for a fun read. This is not just a cute story, it also encourages children to learn while they read. I read this story with my grandson, but we wish the illustrations were better, as they are very simplistic and aren’t as bright, bold, or eye catching like a lot of Ms. Wickstrom’s other books- so they didn’t grab or hold his attention like some of her others have done. As with the other books in the series, the ‘new’ cover is great, but unfortunately the illustrations inside the book aren’t up to the same standard. With better illustrations, this would have been an even better story, in our opinion. This is the final book in this series and it is a great fantasy story. For me it was all about the characters. I loved watching their development throughout the book and I felt like I became really invested in them. their growth really was fascinating to watch. This is a new author to me and, although the final book of the series, I thought this book was a great way to be introduced to her. I enjoyed the writing style. The pace of the book was perfect and the story seemed to flow with ease. I will definitely be going back to read books 1&2 as well as checking out more of her work.

I am always so excited to get my hands on a book by this author and this one is definitely no exception. I loved this story. It is different from anything the author has done before and it is a unique paranormal story. I was pulled into this book from the start and read it all in one sitting. I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen. I enjoyed the character in this book too. I thought the author got the combination of them and the storyline perfect, each complimenting the other. This author is easily one of my favourites and I would urge everyone to read her books.

Loretta is back with some more adventures and when she gets home from school this time, she has an unexpected visitor, her Grandma and she has not come empty handed, she has brought Loretta an orange tree and Loretta thinks that this is perfect, as she can use it for her science project. As her Grandma explains how to look after the tree, Loretta notices that it has some insects on it, her Grandma explain that they are aphids and that Loretta will need to kill them, or they will eat the tree, but Loretta doesn’t want to kill any insects and instead just watches them.
A couple of days later and the aphids have mysteriously disappeared, but Loretta can hear a strange noise “Katy did, Katy did” coming from the tree, when she goes to tell her Grandma, she is told that it is a Katydid, an insect which eats aphids, Loretta is happy about this, but not so much when the Katydid starts to feast on her tree instead!
What will happen to Loretta’s orange tree now the Katydid has moved in and will it survive long enough for Loretta to use it for her project? This is yet another charming and informative book for all ages, with lovely illustrations to go along with it.
I really enjoyed this story. It starts out with a sexual scene but it follows with so much. There is a lot going on in the book but it is not hard to follow or understand like some others. An unconventional love story at the least. I’ll definitely be binging other stories by Gwyn.

First book by this author and pleasantly happy. This story is about heartbreak and 2nd chances. Sometimes heartbreak is disguised as disappointment. However, “Heartbreak is always a risk for the kind of love worth the wait”.
Rae has watched her mother literally die from a broken heart which led to depression. Rae knew love wasn’t meant for everyone, especially her. There was no way she wanted to end up like her mother.
Dean gets left at the altar and while he doesn’t seem to upset by this turn of events, he decides marriage and relationships in general are a no-go for him. He doesn’t see ever finding the kind of forever love his parents still have.
These two meet because fate is a funny thing. Almost wrong place at the wrong time but everything with these two is so right. Fireworks from the very first moment they meet. These characters are sassy and take no crap from anyone much less each other. At first it just seems like a lust filled attraction, but they soon learn they have something different going on. They eventually learn to love each other fiercely, but neither knows how to deal with those feelings. Past relationships come to a head and force Dean and Rae to face some hard truths.
Overall, this story is really good. I enjoyed the bantering, the push and pull of Dean and Rae’s attraction. I enjoyed the secondary characters because everyone should have a friend, a sister, a brother, someone that pushes you to be better, someone who holds you when things are hard, someone who gets you. That someone doesn’t have to be a romantic partner but an actual best type of friend.
Looking forward to what and who comes next in this series.

Ok, I needed this story. I haven’t chuckled this hard in a while. The characters are endearingly romantic yet rough. The Frost and Klaus feud, love this. The paranormal twist with bikers is a fantastic idea that I’m glad the author ran with. I found the storyline engaging. It could be my twisted imagination. I love these kinds of stories. I want more of this. I don’t think we have enough. It’s a fun story that engages you and grabs you. I will look for more by this author.

I found this one to be quite the intense story. I understand that this was the prequel to Watcher. I do agree that it could be read as a standalone. It is action-packed . I loved the paranormal/fantasy twist with angels/demons among the humans. The storyline kept me hooked. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. The characters, I can’t say enough. They are out of this world, exciting. A good read that fans of this genre will love.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything about this story! I don’t even know where to start to tell you all the amazing things about this book! The story is wonderfully done. It is filled with cuteness and adorable comments, gestures as well as laugh out loud moments. The characters are incredible. Each one is built to make the reader fall in love with them..no matter which one they are. I fell for the whole family and could hardly take my eyes from the pages. It has antics between the two main characters which I enjoyed but one of my favorite things is the lyrics when they sing. I just shook my head at them and chuckled to myself.
Ms Sylvie has knocked this one out of the park in my opinion. I will be doing some backlog reading on a few couples that show up in here while I await the next in the series.
Kudos to another families adventures that has become a new favorite for me.

Echoing Hearts is a wonderfully written Contemporary Romance / Enemies to Lover’s Romance that once you start reading there’s no stopping until you finish. I absolutely loved reading this book and it proved to be the perfect book to read on a dreary day. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m definitely going to check out what other books they have written. This is a Rae and Dean’s story. Rae is traveling the world living her dream all while getting paid to do it. She doesn’t believe in love and Happily ever afters due to watching her mom go down down hill from a broken heart. Then there’s Dean who is a thriving business man with more money than he knows what to do with. These two meet and the chemistry between them is off the charts but can she open her heart and let him in or will something get in the way? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

This is the first book in the Love On Tap series and I really enjoyed it. This is an enemies to lovers story and it is full of laughter as our 2 main characters Cash and Hollis battle against each other. The author does an amazing job with the characters and I love how sassy Hollis is. She is one determined lady who won’t back down from a fight. You can feel the chemistry and attraction between them right from the start even though reading the words you would think they hated this sight of each other but the chemistry is there and it gets more intense as they push each others buttons. All to the mix a crazy family and this is a story that will have you hooked and laughing all the way. The main question is how long will it take them to realise that all this banter and pushing of the buttons is just hiding their true feelings? And what happens if they stopped the fighting and gave into them?

My daughter and I started reading this together as a part of our nightly routine. Following Princess Zarina and her black magic dress was a tale to be reckoned with. Watching as Princess Zarina started out as this spoiled princess was almost off-putting and my daughter didn’t like her at all at first. But as the story progressed, and Zarina became more and more less spoiled and like a warrior princess to avenge the death of her parents, was absolutely amazing. My daughter absolutely loved this book as did I. The writing was fantastic and certainly kept us entrapped and entertained and wanting more each night. One more paragraph became one more page and one more page became one more chapter, we just couldn’t stop! This will definitely be put on our favorite book list to read over and over again.

This book was an interesting read. the story between Malakai and Bryon was like no other, especially on how your inner self can reflect on how you view others or celestials. Also, how this book took a turn from hunting these entities to falling for them a helping instead, was an amazing turn of events. This book really kept me guessing while I was reading it. The way the author visibly wrote out the worlds in this book made you feel like you were right in the book. This book is also very good without having to read the others, but I highly suggest you do, you will not be disappointed.
Shameless Love focuses on Walt Bennett’s story and his love story with Elyse. Elyse is a producer who is hoping to work with Walt’s sister, but Walt just can’t get enough of Elyse. Sparks fly immediately when Elyse and Walt meet and they never let up! Their love story is relatively uncomplicated and without romantic drama. Shameless Love is a story of love, family, and forgiveness. All of which play a major role in the plot and keep the story moving. It’s a sweet story of love in a small town living the simple life.

C.A. King is just great in my opinion! I enjoy her books so much and this one was no different. Difficult choices, a possible romance of the ages and all the pressure on her shoulders. Somehow I missed that this was the last book of the series. I still enjoyed reading this paranormal urban fantasy book. This young adult book has adventure, friends, family, witches, and more. Amy has had a tough time and finds herself and her life changed in ways she never expected. So much change at once can really take a toll. On top of that, she must find help from someone she considers an enemy. The story is well written and kept me turning the page to see what happens next. The author is new to me and I’m looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

It’s Caspian’s unbirthday again. What will Grandpa give him this year? An empty box? No, an invisible magic wand! How cool is that? This is a cute story following Caspian and his adventures at school with his wand. This is a fun story filled with colourful illustrations and silly endeavours. Geared towards children aged 4-8. They will love it!
This is another great story by an author I have come to really enjoy. I love the way she tells a story, developing it right to the end. This is another quick read, with a historical angle and some fantastic characters. I loved reading their story, watching as they tried to navigate their world and circumstances. Although this is a short story, there is so much going on in the book. The author has really packed so much in. This is the kind of book that you can read in one sitting. This is only the second book in the series and I am looking forward to reading the rest.

I was a bit hesitant to read this book initially, given it was so far through the series but I am so glad I gave it a chance. The book was easy to understand and had an intriguing plot line. I enjoyed trying to work out how it was going to turn out. There was an interesting mix of characters to compliment the storyline and everything as a whole seemed to work well. I also really enjoyed that the book was set in Rome. It felt different to the usual American/English settings. This is still a pretty new author to me but if this is an example of what her books will be like, I can’t wait to read more.

Will Loretta’s orange tree help her to win the science fair at school?
Again, Lois Wickstrom has written another great children’s book! This one is a part of a series on bugs and has a science focus on it. This book would be inspiring to a child about to enter their first science fair!

What Loretta’s Katydid Did is full of beautiful illustrations by Francie Mion. It is another story in the Loretta’s Insects series which is 6 books. It is for children aged 4 – 8 years or Preschool – 3. The stories in this series are original and fun and full of interesting facts. Loretta enters the science fair with her orange tree but first she must get rid of the pesky infestation that is threatening to ruin it all. How can Loretta cure the tree of its problem and still compete for the prize. The one thing I like about Lois’s work is that there is always something to learn and there is always a solution to a problem. It makes your imagination envision all sorts of outcomes and solutions. Taming Brooklyn is a delightful romance tale and is the first book in The Club Kings series. Let me tell you The Club Kings are hot! This is my first time reading anything by Charlotte and I was happy to find I liked her work. Now I will be going back to indulge in the others. I love a story that is dark and Taming Brooklyn is just that. There is steamy romance that is slow burning but then there is romance where it hits you instantly. With a dangerous ex, a stalker and sexy men who are protective and alpha what could go wrong? The answer is plenty. The story is told in multiple POV which is the best way to tell stories these days because you get a better inside look in to the true character of these fully realised complex characters. Their story is spicy, sexy, steamy and hot along with some fun. I perfect read to escape the world worries for a bit and enjoy some adult time with a healthy dose of a stiff drink. I can’t wait to read more of Charlottes work.
