I did not know if I would love or hate this book upon first glance. It was outside of the box for me because I don’t typically enjoy love triangles. This author is new to me and I would 100% pick up another book they have written. The story was heartfelt, romantic, emotional, dramatic, and felt down to earth. Rae and Dean had a story that most can humanly relate to. Ray and Dean each had a background where heartbreak shaped their outlook on where their lives would go. With determination and distraction, they successfully avoided, the L word, and their past demons. As they find their feelings, unavoidable, they just give in and go where things lead. Both prove to be stubborn and jaded. They dive in headfirst and learn what it is like when love is meant to be.

This was a great 5 star read. The beginning oh my, it starts with some heart wrenching moments. The characters were great, they were both strong and great for each other. Even though they fought the attraction they did finally give in. Ginger is hired to protect Jack after his heartbreaking loss. Now that he is president his safety is her number one priority. As they spend time together feelings start to develop. Will these two give in to their attraction? Can Ginger protect Jack? Overall I really enjoyed this book. So The Summer I Went Crazy is not something I typically read. It was a one off to try something different. That different had me wondering for a while about what I was reading. However, it wasn’t bad, and it was well written. The author gave the reader an interesting take on coping with one’s guilt while finding oneself at the same time. The guilt in question could be a trigger from some so just be mindful. Ben was witness to something that he wishes to forget. And knowing that just makes him feel guilty. It also makes him realize that those around him aren’t really in his corner. He spends his summer finding himself with the help of Phoebe. Adventures he never thought he would take part in, but they were the exact adventures he needed. He’s from an upper class neighborhood she’s from quote on quote the other side of the tracks, What could they really have in common? Reality more than one could think. Plus she’s genuine which he likes about her vs those he grew up with, they were all the same, no diversity. The path of self discovery for Ben is one I feel I’m going to have to reread. I feel like I missed a lot because my mind was trying too hard to figure what one thing had to do with another. Once I did I know I missed a lot. What I can say is, give it a chance. And if you find yourself in the same place I am, read it again because it might surprise you.

This was a very good story. Princess Zarina is the youngest of the royal family. She is deemed the most beautiful of the children. Unfortunately it leaves her out of touch with the world. She’s selfish and materialistic. After the dressmaker makes her a special dress, she is tested in ways she never was before. She learns valuable life lessons along the way. I think it’s relatively easy to read. It moves at a decent pace and is ok for kids about 10 years old and up.

Rae Allen and Dean Rowland meet by chance, as Rae is working on a article for a Homes magazine all about Dean’s beautiful home in they eyes of Dean’s sister Kat. There is some tension at first, Dean is a bit stand offish and rude, Rae is all about business as she is a known blogger and journalist with her many adventures all across the globe. Sparks fly between Rae and Dean and months later, Dean is trying to persuade Rae to more….getting to know each other..Dean’s totally intrigued by Rae as she is no holds bar like the other women in Dean’s past. What needs to happen is also letting the past go in order for Rae and Dean to move forward. Will the past come back and haunt Dean before he can move on and fall in love?
Betrayal, love, banter, jealousy and mistrust play into this story and it was hard to put down. I loved Dean and Rae as they try and navigate their feelings while trying not to get their heart broken as well. I am looking forward to book 2 in this series!

As satisfying as the first book in this series. In first book we meet Tink and Shadow. Shadow has been through unimaginable things that shaped who she is. So, she does work most people can’t fathom. She is a vigilante.
The Silent Road by S.N. McKibben is a long-haul trucker MM romance with plenty of emotion, complicated family dynamics, anger, angst, a sexual awakening/discovery of sorts, a quest for redemption, and drama it had a bit of a Big Rig “Brokeback Mountain” feel to it all. The characters are complex with their own personalities, quirks, and flaws. I found it hard to connect with them, especially Dan- which made it hard to invest in them or the story. We ‘hear’ the story from Dan’s POV, which I think added to my frustration because I didn’t really ‘like’ him much, and that caused me more discontent. I think if we got to see the story from another/other perspectives, then that would have given the story an added element interest and added much more depth, balance, and ‘texture’ (for me). I don’t know a lot about long-haul trucking, so that part of the story was definitely interesting. Also, the difficult family dynamics and the quest for redemption added extra angst and emotion to the story, as well as the complications that came with the sexual awakening/feelings that develop/arise along the way.

This was a really good read! I really enjoyed all the twists throughout this book and the romance. The characters were fantastic and I was really rooting for them throughout this read. I enjoyed the plot a lot and the story was just incredible. I’m excited to see where this author takes the next book in this series!

Creatures Of The Night By: C.A. King Review by: Susan Ratchford 5 Stars
I absolutely love books that mix paranormal and mythology so Creatures Of The Night by C. A. King really caught my eye. I was very intrigued to see it had vampires, werewolves, and ghosts as well as demons, gorgons, centaurs, and gods. What else could anyone want in a book! King also has a way of writing that is so beautiful and gripping, for example “ The sun had finished its shift for the day, leaving keys in the moon’s hand until it returned once more.” Her writing made this story have its own heartbeat. This isn’t the first book I’ve read by her and she never disappoints! Zoe is also a real easy character to feel for, having the abilities she does but being stuck on the sidelines. Creatures Of The Night was also so unpredictable as soon as I thought I knew what was going to happen the whole thing did a 180 degree turn and I was taken aback. A book hasn’t surprised me like that in a while. I recommend this book to any paranormal fantasy lover! You will be in for a real treat!

This was a nice room com read. Apparently also part of a series. I must have missed that bit but it gives me something to look at reading in the near future. The characters are well developed and the storyline has a nice hook that keeps you wanting more.

This story dealt with heavy topics without being too heavy. It was flirtatious, with a touch of realism – this book was a quick, fun read! It works as a standalone if you haven’t read the other books in the series. After reading it though, I want to go back and read the others in the series. Destiny of Light is the final book in the Quirk of Destiny Trilogy. Make sure you read the first two books. This is a gripping dystopian Sci Fi tale where science fiction meets real science and is unlike anything you have read before. I couldn’t wait to see how Catherine brought the story to a close in this epic trilogy. I was not disappointed. A dark and twisted tale of madness, devastation and destruction in a post-apocalyptic world where genetically modified food created the Genies, the Elite who have the power to destroy and evil with paranormal powers. It is a world in ruin. Can Calum together with his friends stop those behind this terrible conspiracy and bringing destruction to the world be stopped? Destiny of Light is a compelling storyline with many twists and turns that you cannot put down. If you like post-apocalyptic sci fi thrillers, you need to grab this trilogy and get stuck in. A definite must-read.

Book 4 in the Pierce brothers series and it was so damn good. Holy cow, I adored this one in the series way to much to be healthy honestly. Broody Noah and optimistic Amy clash and meld together in this easy to read romantic comedy. Belinda as always gives us her gift and has us fall for our characters right out of the gate. This one was perfect and I will definitely be reading it again!

3.5 stars Beware there may be triggers as the story delves into a lot of things but the main one is rape. As Laura says The Summer I Went Crazy is now a straight literary fiction novel. A New Adult story. If it looks/feels familiar it’s because it was once called Coyote Summer but it has been rewritten. Rich kids at a private school doesn’t stop atrocities from happening. In fact sometimes they are worse because they think they are more entitled, that they are more than privileged, have more money, more power. All it takes is one summer. One crazy day. One party. One single action. One defining moment. One hour for lives to be changed. One minute for a life time of horror, pain, suffering, torment. One promise. One second for a lifetime of guilt. BUT it took 40 years for the one phone call that would change everything. It is an intriguing story because it is told in the first person as seen by a young man. His lack of conscience, values and actions and the questionable morals annoyed me. He is not a nice person but Laura did well in creating his character. He struggles with what he witnessed and is full of guilt that carries through decades with him. Who looks back on his past and that of his friends and realises he should have done more. Now, forty years later, and one phone call……………. My emotions and feelings were all over the place with this one. It is definitely a thought provoking story.

3.5 stars The Silent Road is the first book I have read this author’s work and I enjoyed her writing style. The story is well written and interesting. It is an MM romance tale that is very emotive with a lot of anger and tension, angst and frustration and more. I wish that this one was told in multiple POV to get the other perspective besides just Dan’s. It would have had a lot more impact if the story was told in multiple POV. I really liked Jake but Dan left a lot to be desired it took the whole book to redeem himself if only a little. My brother does long haul driving, the long hours, the isolation and tiredness just to name a few so I can understand the effects it has on people which made it easier to understand the MC’s position a bit better. It had it all and lost it all. He needs to redeem himself to those he has wronged. An unexpected turn of events is now leading him towards something he never thought he would want. He is unaccustomed to these feelings. I hope there is more to this story as I felt there is something more for them it felt a bit unfinished for them.
This was an interesting read and good start to the series! Being my first time reading this author I was not sure what to expect but definitely enjoyed their writing style. This story is complex and fast paced, it will hold your attention until the end. Overcoming adversity and being thrown into a role they were not ready for Ruarnon has to prove they are ready. This story is definitely one of a kind and very unique. I look forward to reading the next book in the series to see where the author takes us!

This fantasy book may appeal to those who enjoy time travel, war, and sea monsters along with high stakes situations involving a lot of threats and murder. There is a lot of action that takes place in this book. At times, it became very difficult for me to keep up with who was doing what and where. There are times the writing was a bit choppy too. It’s a debut author so there is definitely a lot of room for growth, and I’m sure it will take place. I had a very difficult time keeping up with the characters too. I understand that a book of this length and depth will have a variety of characters but it almost seemed too much for me. I did feel for the main characters and the challenges that they faced and the decisions that these young minds were tasked to make. I even teared up in a couple of scenes. I’m sure that there are others who really loved this book but for me, it just wasn’t my style.

Having read and enjoyed book one in this series I was looking forward to being back in Langston Falls with the Bennett’s, and I was not disappointed. This story focuses on small town Walter (Walt) Bennett and city girl Elyse Farrell, in an opposites attracts steamy romance. Broody and a bit grumpy Walt has worked hard to protect his family and make a life for himself in Langston Falls, whilst the sexy television producer, Elyse has no interest in settling down in a small town. Therefore, he knows that he should have looked the other way when he saw Elyse in a very revealing dress at a studio party, but he couldn’t resist their chemistry and neither could she. Thinking they can only ever be friends who shared a passionate night together, they plan on going their separate ways. However, when then get trapped together during a freak snowstorm they realise there connection maybe stronger than they thought. The descriptive narrative once again brought the small town feeling of Langston Falls vividly to life, making me feel immersed in the storyline. The chemistry between Walt and Elyse really came across in the writing and I was hoping they would get their promised HEA.

This book really caught my attention from the minute I read the blurb and I just knew this was a book was going to have to read. I wasn’t disappointed either. The characters in this book were fantastic. Their connection felt so real and relatable. I wanted to know more about them and watch how their relationship progressed. And for me, it wasn’t just about the characters in this book. The storyline was just as strong and engaging. Although it was a prequel I thought this author did a great job at tying everything together. This author is one that I always really enjoy and this book is no exception. I am already looking forward to whatever comes next.
This is the third and final book in trilogy and it was a great way to round off the stories. I was easily pulled back into the story and the characters and wanted to see how things would turn out. As with the other books this one is well written and really knows how to draw you in. This is still a relatively new author to me and I have really enjoyed getting familiar with her work over this trilogy. The characters have been strong and varied and I will definitely be looking into more from her soon.

This book is so good. It is a very in depth look at what it is like to live with a deep secret and what happens when your secret comes to light. This story is filled with amazing characters with stories that definitely tug at your heart strings. It has some steam but that is not the focus of the story rather the focus is at finding who you really are, who you can trust and who and what really matters. This book is phenomenal with characters I truly loved. I definitely recommend this book!
I truly enjoyed Zoe’s story. She knows what she has to do with her life but she is now in a journey to combine what she is with whom she wants to be. This is a paranormal fantasy story told in a very movie like fashion with all the details you need to fall deeper in. The characters have amazing backgrounds and the storyline is very strong. You won’t regret picking up this novel.

This novel has an interesting plot. I’ve never known people to invite others into their home to review it unless they are looking to sell. Kat does not want to sell, so it is peculiar to me that she wants someone to write about it. Other than that, Rae is a force to be reckoned with both professionally and personally.
Rae and Dean have this connection that is undeniable from the moment they meet. You can feel every bit of emotion from the authors writing. If you are looking for a great romance novel, this is it. I cannot wait to read the sequel!

I really have enjoyed the Buckeye Falls books so far. This was a cute, quick read for me. I really like this genre especially when baking or cooking is involved in the plot. I thought that Cece was a great character and her chemistry with Evan was well designed. I look forward to more books in the series.

Streets of Shadows was a great written book. It’s not my typical type of read, but the description had my attention. The world building, plot, and characters was thought out well. This book was fast paced and hard to put down. The story was about a sister who wanted to get justice for her sister. Manipulator’s War by Elise Carlson is the first book in the Ruarnon Trilogy and my first book with this author. This is also my first book with a nonbinary character lead. I didn’t have any particular expectations going into this book but it sounded interesting. While the story did not take off immediately for me as I got into the rythym of it all, I eventually found myself absolutey enthralled in this tale and then the pages turned faster and faster. I felt like the characters and their interactions, the plot, and details were beautifully crafted and all came together perfectly inside its fantasy realm. And at the end, I was ready for more. This book has definitely opened me up to be more willing to read outside of my norm. Never know when you’ll find an absolute gem where you’re not necessarily looking for one. I look forward to reading book two!

A new author to me I was not sure what to expect from this young adult book. What I got was a realistic book I could not put down. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is very inclusive and not did not exclude anyone based on race, gender, or sexuality. That was a pleasure to see from a young adult story. It is great to say that there is a story out there I can recommend to friends and family members that are part of the LGBTIQA+ community. This is the first book in this book series, and I cannot wait to read the next book. If you are interested in historical young adult fiction, please give this story a read. It is well written and informative.
