Oh my word poor Kenna has just had the worst time ! Her husband cheats on her , to add insult to injury the other woman got the promotion meant for and then she looses her cool with her boss and then is escorted out the building by security and then she gets tidings that her aunt has passed away ! She may not have known the aunt but it’s still a blow and she’s off to Sunshine Key to sort her estate and I think it’s just what she needs to rediscover herself and remember who Kenna is ….

Dec isn’t exactly a ray of sunshine but he has to share the boat club left to him and Kenna and she may just be his ray of sunshine 😉from house renovations to heart renovations these 2 are just entertaining to say the least ….they’re the perfect example of first impressions don’t last 😉

I laughed hard and I did shed a few tears but all in all I had a great holiday in Sunshine Key 😉will I be rereading this …FOR SURE 😉❣️📚will I be sharing this with the girls in bookclub … FOR SURE 😉

Salt Love is a Romantic Comedy that will have you turning the pages till the end. I absolutely loved reading this book and found it had the perfect mix of humor to keep you entertained till the end. This is a fairly new author to me but I can say she’s got a new fan. I’m going to be looking into what other books she has written. What a wonderfully written second chance romance where you never know where you might find love. I highly recommend reading this book and I look forward to reading more from this Author.

This being my first introduction to this talented author I was not at disappointed at all. The author’s writing was engaging and heartfelt, and really knows how to draw readers in.
This is a Rom Com for sure that explores themes of love, second chances, and personal growth. I found it to be humorous, fun, snarky and beautifully balanced. With beautifully built characters, main and secondary ones, which made reading the story all the better. I 100% look forward to reading more books by Marika Ray, especially if they’re all this good. 🥰

Kenna finds out her husband is cheating on her and she simmers but when she does not receive the promotion she was hoping for she turns to a full on rage. Put on immediate leave she heads to the newest problem in her life, an inheritance from an Aunt and split ownership with the next door neighbor Dec Boggs. Kenna and Dec are like oil and water, but it is only a matter of time before they can’t resist each other. With everything going on from divorce, partnership and the job in limbo, Kenna has a mess of a life but she is determined to become her own woman and hear herself roar.

This was so much fun to read. Hilarious, I would totally want to be Kenna. I thought the way she went through everything was so much like a roller coaster, you laugh and want to cry. Perfect beach read.

Salt Love: A Summer Romantic Comedy

I loved Kenna from almost the very beginning. Her fairly normal life is turned upside down with a phone call. Her marriage is over after finding out he was cheating with her work enemy, after a not so private confrontation she has to figure out she’s going to do next. Off to Florida to take care of her estranged Aunt’s estate.
Kenna’s strength and resilience during one of the darkest times in her life was impressive and at times funny
I could relate to the hair incident unfortunately.

Dec is happy with his life on the Key. He fishes and takes care of things for his neighbor and when she died he isn’t expecting anything at all, but Kenna is the biggest surprise of them all

There are definitely some laugh out loud moments like the hair incident or the gator. I will be watching for more books by Ms. Ray and hopefully we will see what happens next on Sunshine Key.

I had only read one other book by this author before, but I enjoyed it so much that I had to pick this on up as well. I’m so glad I did because it was the refreshing romantic comedy that I needed! I found myself laughing out loud at a few moments in the book while others tugged at my heart. It took me a little bit to find my reading rhythm, but once I did there was no putting it down. The characters are well thought out and developed. Kenna and Dec will have you rooting for them the whole time as you keep turning pages to find out what happens. If you are looking for a wonderfully fun summer read that has great banter and emotions, please pick this up and get lost for the afternoon! I am looking forward to seeing more work by this author in the near future.

As expected, this romance novel starts with Kenna having all the bad things happen one right after the other, and Dec comes to save the day. Throughout the story Kenna does have some self growth, however, Dec does have to catch up eventually. I love how the author intermingles the minor characters to make the story more entertaining for the reader.

Kenna was having the worst day of her life, nobody would question that. Her life was in shambles on every front when her aunt passed away leaving Kenna with a seemingly impossible task to fulfill in order to claim her inheritance. Dec Boggs is the all American guy with the sweetest soul, despite a troubled past. Kenna and Dec must make nice, Maeve left them no choice. Salt Love was an easy read about taking your life back and not being afraid to get what you want and deserve in life. The characters feel deeply and are so relatable.

Kenna’s life is falling apart. Her marriage is over, her husband is a cheating loser, she was beat out for a promotion by a woman she cannot stand and now her Aunt has passed away and she must travel for the reading of the will. Her Aunt’s next door neighbor Dec was a huge part of her life before she passed. They were great friends. Everything was pretty much left to Dec and Kenna.
Immediately, Kenna disliked Dec even though she thought he was insanely hot! They became friends which was inevitable since they are neighbors for at least the next year and will be running a business together. Dec sees Kenna at her worst when she breaks down and he also has a chance to see her at her best. The both develop feelings for eachother but, should Kenna really have feelings for a man before her divorce is even final? And Dec has a secret that will come out and Kenna feels
Like he lied to her all along. She feels like he’s a different person and she doesn’t even know him anymore. Will they be able to build a relationship or will the secrets be a deal breaker and end what they have before it even really begins. I really enjoyed reading this book but I knew I would because I love everything by this author.

Salt Love: A Summer Romantic Comedy by Marika Ray. This is such a emotional read about Kenna who married her high school sweetheart and such a hard worker. Finding out in the same week that her husband was cheating on her and her favorite Aunt passed away. Being served divorce papers and finding out she is part owner in a boat club and a new house left to her by her aunt in Florida in the same week is a lot to take in. Heading to Florida she is so down on herself feeling like a complete failure. When she arrives in Florida she finds out that 1/2 of the boat club is owned by a hot, grumpy guy named Dec. Dec was super grumpy but he felt a pull towards Kenna and can’t stay away from her. They end up spending time together and getting closer. While working on her house and working at the boat club gives her a sense of purpose and Dec makes her think she might believe in love again. Kenna has a lot of funny situations happen and this book will make you laugh out loud.

Kenna is at the end of her rope. Her husband is cheating. In turn, his work mistress got HER promotion and she gets a call to find an aunt she never knew has passed away in Florida and she is needed there to figure out her inheritance. She is desperate for a fresh start and rediscovering herself, so it sounds like Florida, it is!

When she gets there, she finds a pretty huge inheritance with stipulations involved. She is able to inherit an oceanfront home if she stays in the key for one year, and in the meantime she is 50/50 owner with her aunts former neighbor, Dec. Dec is definitely a sight for sore eyes, but the appeal really stops there. He’s short tempered, surly, and not interested in partnership. But boy, is he handsome.

As Kenna learns to get through her new normal and rediscover herself, she finds Dec is not who she thought he was, either. He can be sweet and sensitive and looks out for her. Kenna knows he is hiding a secret, but can’t figure out what. In a time of her life when secrets are being revealed day in and day out, will his be the one she can’t learn to live with?

Such a fun read, great chemistry, and I loved Kenna’s path of rediscovering herself!

This is a really enjoyable romcom read. It is a fun, steamy second chance romance. It is a story about losing everything in your life, rebuilding your life over again in a new place and finding love when you least expect it.
Kenna life falls apart in the space of one week. First she finds out her husband is cheating on her and then the promotion she worked so hard for was given to someone else.
On the verge of a breakdown she takes the chance and leaves to take care of her aunty’s estate. This is where she meets her aunt’s neighbour Don.
Their relationship to begin with was definately dislike at first sight.
As they spend time together feelings change but they both have things they are working on. Kenna needs to work on rediscovering herself and rebuilding her life, meanwhile Don is hiding a secret a secret of his own.
Will this be their second chance of a happy ever after?

This was a really enjoyable read. I loved the characters and how they communicated with each other. One thing I also loved was the story being told from the point of view of both our main characters so you get the complete story instead of a one sided story. This is definately a holiday read for me.

I could not put this book down and would have absolutely read it in one sitting if I didn’t have to be a responsible adult. Ray’s writing is phenomenal and her ability to develop her characters is spectacular. This is the first book I’ve read by Ray solely, but it won’t be the last. I cannot tell you how hard it was for me to put this book down when I had to adult. I loved Kenna and Dec’s story and I absolutely loved how Ray developed them as characters both individually and together. I cannot wait to pick up another of Ray’s books. This book made me do a lot of belly laughs. I absolutely loved Kenna, she was delt a bad hand in the beginning and I had felt really bad. But seeing as she grew throughout the book and meeting up with Dec and getting to know him was something to see. Dec kind of reminded me of a little bit of grumpy cat, until Kenna thawed him out. The ups and downs that they both went through was hard. But this book had a few good laughs that got me going. I enjoyed reading this book by Markia. I can’t wait to read more by her!

This was a good 5 star read. Kenna has had the worst week ever. To get away from everything she goes to take care of her aunt’s estate. There is a twist in the rules regarding her inheritance. She has to stay in Florida for a year. When she meets her neighbor and co-owner of the boat club there is an instant connection. They both have a past they are trying to move forward from.
I had several LOL moments and was pulled right into the story. My heart went out to both characters. Can these two find a HEA? Overall, I really enjoyed this read. The author does a great job with her writing. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. If you are looking for a good rom com, 1-click and get started today. There are points in this book that you just have to shake your head and laugh out loud. Then there are also points where you just want to hug Dec or even Kenna due to some of the crap, they have had to deal with over the years. They both come from single parent upbringings and therefore understand what it was like to be missing a parent but they grew up in very different situations. Both characters developed and grew throughout the whole story and they grew together. Fantastic writing and story line. (also for you E-readers there is a link at the end to get an extended Epilogue that will have you laughing out loud!)

Salt Love by Marika Ray follows Kenna’s life after her whole world begins to tatter at the seams in a matter of days. Among the wreckage, she receives news that her aunt has died and flies to Florida to meet with a lawyer to discuss her aunt’s final wishes. It’s there that she meets Dec Boggs, a friend and neighbor of Kenna’s aunt. While he is absolutely infuriating to her, she can’t help but be curious about him…and feel an attraction to him. She is temporarily less than thrilled to find out that she is sharing ownership of Maeve’s boat club with him. As the story continues unfolding, a connection between the two of them really begins to flourish. But can their pasts be left where the past belongs, or will secrets keep them from truly letting love in again?

This story had me cheering Kenna on from the very first page. Her lack of luck had me laughing but also feeling sympathetic. When it rains, it pours! But once Kenna finds her footing, she really begins to shine. If you enjoy a well-written romantic comedy with a nice helping of sweet and spicy, I highly recommend this book! I will be looking for more books by this author in the future.

Salt Love by Marika Ray is a great romantic comedy.

Security escorted her out of the premises, and then she immediately took a plane to Sunshine Key to handle her aunt’s inheritance. She meets her new neighbor there, a sullen, beautiful man with all the charm of a rusty anchor—at least when he’s not frowning. Her aunt gives the two of us her yacht club. Ownership was split 50/50 even though she had no prior boating experience. or Florida. According to the will, she must reside on this small island for a full year to be eligible to inherit the seaside home.

Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. The story brings us into their world. I couldn’t put the book down.

Salt Love: A Romantic Comedy by Marika Kay.
It’s just one piece of bad news after the other, first it is finding out that her aunt has died and second is a cheating husband who has only been found out by chance after a jewellery shop called about a bracelet she had never seen, and now it is the morning of the presentation to get a promotion and unfortunately, the bracelet is being worn by the other woman, who just happens to also be the other woman up for the position as well, so when she is overlooked for the cheater, she snaps and gives everyone a piece of her mind.
It is probably a good thing that she must go to Florida to sort out her aunt’s estate because she must take a leave of absence after her outburst, however, it is not a smooth start when she arrives in a flurry of rainy weather and stress. Meanwhile, Dec Boggs, is a man who likes to live his life in an uncomplicated manner, by spending time on the water and with his Dad, but when he sees a flummoxed, agitated and drenched woman entering the lawyers office to hear the reading of the will and when it doesn’t go as she expected she explodes, but being the nice neighbour he is, he escorts her back to her aunt’s house, which just so happens to be next door to his.
After the initial shock of all the events occurring around her, this lady is at the end of her tether, especially when she finds out that she must live in Sunshine Keys in Florida for a year before she can claim her inheritance and on top of that, she is now a shared owner of a boating club, and she knows nothing about boating, or Florida, or gators! This is where her sexy, yet surly neighbour comes in, helping her to adapt to the salt life and tempting her to forget her past, but when the past catches up to them both, will it change their minds about the future, or will the salt life win out? This is a romantic comedy which is full of ups, downs and everything in between which will entertain you as time plays out and adventures await in Sunshine Keys.

Salt Love is a cute story. Of two characters who fight to admit who they are and what they want. I really like the growth of the two main characters as they navigated their new life. I say that in a figurative sense. This author sucks the reader in with the fall of Kenna’s life.
Kenna has been placed on sabbatical after losing it when she didn’t get the promotion. A promotion that went to a woman who was also currently sleeping with her husband. On top of finding out her aunt passed away. A small trip to Florida to settle her aunt’s affairs finds herself in a situation she’s not sure how to handle. With a man she’s extremely attracted too and doesn’t want to be.
Dec leads a quiet life in the keys. Hiding away from a life he left behind. Befriending Maeve was easy. Having to handle the responsibilities after her death not so much. He was attracted to Kenna and he doesn’t like it. He’s not someone to be tied down.
He likes her but is scared to admit to himself..
She’s dealing with a divorce and sworn off men.
What will they do?
They have no choice to run the business together for a year, or she has to give up her inheritance.
The dynamic between them is sometimes swoon worthy. Who doesn’t wish for that kind of banter. Playful and fun.
That’s what made me love it!
Can’t wait to check out more books by this author in the future.

Now Kenna has to go down to Florida while also reeling from having to take a forced sabbatical from work and being served divorce papers from her cheating husband. Fortunately, this trip to read her aunt’s will is the right step in a new direction. Kenna is such a relatable character. Everyone can relate to being at that point where everything is falling apart. This book gives you hope that a second chance is possible for you too. The romance was sweet. I didn’t like Dec at first but he ended up being a great guy and the chemistry between him and Kenna is great. The other characters in this story are great as well. The friendship between Kenna and Liz is perfect. This is a fun book for those who love to see characters remake their lives.

When life throws you down…..picking up to move to another state could be just what is in order or how Kenna’s late aunt would know would do her good. Salt Love is a fun, romantic comedy that I absolutely adored from page one. I loved the banter between Kenna and Dec with a mix of emotions, humor, romance with lots of spark and sizzle, letting go of the past, secrets and friendships. This was a fantastic read, the story flowed so easily and I could not put this book down.

Kenna is down on her luck…between losing her husband, losing out on a work promotion and also losing her aunt…this is a lot all at once. Aunt Maeve left specific instructions for not only Kenna but also for Dec..whom befriends Maeve down at Sunshine Key. Kenna and Dec have to work together to take over her business…what can be so hard? Dec comes across as the grumpy neighbor, keeping to himself with some secrets of his own. Having to share a business with Maeve’s niece whom he never met before can be a challenge.

As Kenna and Dec work together with Maeve’s business and Kenna’s remodeling of the house….spark fly instantly between Kenna and Dec. Will Kenna be able to move past her ex-husband and also will Dec be able to share secrets that he keeps near or will the past tear Kenna and Dec apart….

Definitely read and find out. I highly recommend this book…..loved it loved it loved it!!

I loved that everyone was brought together by a deceased loved one. The two MC started with a hate relationship and went through stages to reach the love. While Kenna, at times, seemed like a hot mess Dec came off as kind and considerate more than once. His secret was a surprise to me and I could see both sides of his story. I had read a few reviews before picking up this book so I expected it to be entertaining. However, this book was so much more amusing and fun than I had anticipated. It is a brilliant romcom story and the characters are right at the heart of this. They are engaging, lively and a joy to read about. I loved watching them explore their feelings for each other and their connection which I definitely became invested with.
The story was just as good as the characters on the page. I loved how the author tied everything together and I found myself being completely swept away with everything going on. This is a brilliant story that I would highly recommend.
