To say I enjoyed this book is an understatement! It is a unique adventure, that is going to give you laughs, mystery and a good scare from time to time. The dialogue was pretty well thought of, which made for a fun action and page turning book that has scares and adventure. Definitely recommend for a good time! I missed out on the first book of the series, but I can guarantee you that I will definitely be reading that one as well!

Operation Pinpoint (Space Force Rejects Book 1) by Landra Graf – Review by Mary Espinoza

Operation PinpointOperation Pinpoint by Landra Graf
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is not my normal genre for reading, but the cover looked was intriguing enough to give it a try. I had no idea what to expect from this book, like the saying goes “don’t judge a book by its cover!”. I am glad that I decided to go ahead and indulge into this interesting, entertaining read. The story was short, but was full of adventure, and this is enough to keep you enjoying the story from start to finish. Captain Ravenna is on a mission to rescue her love at any cost, or at least that’s what she thinks she needs to do. This includes teaming up with an untrustworthy alien named Dravos. Dravos is a prisoner that is out on his own mission to find the missing Space Force vessel, searching for freedom. The way their stories connect while searching to accomplish their missions is bound to draw you in. If you are looking for a new sci-fi read with love triangle romance then this is the book to pick up and give a try.

Gathering of the Four (The Serrulata Saga #1)Gathering of the Four by A.E. Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you’re looking for a great page turning sci-fi book, this is definitely the one! I truly enjoyed that there was romance in this story (it’s not always included in fantasy or science fiction) and I was impressed with the friendships were well developed for a sci-fi book. For the setting to take place about 2500 years in the future, it is a well written, well thought out book. I definitely want to see what happens next. I seriously can’t wait for book 2!

From Brick & DarknessFrom Brick & Darkness by J.L. Sullivan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Be careful what you wish for!! Something we have been told again and again, but poor Bax had to learn the hard way! This novel is Modern And Dark, and I Loved It! It is a great YA novel for those who like their stories a little dark and gritty. It was definitely a unique and modern spin on an ancient evil. This book had an Aladdin feel to it in a todays world setting. It was 100% a page turner!

Fractured Worlds: Courage in the Apocalypse by Courtney Konstantin – Review by Mary Espinoza

Fractured World: Courage in the Apocalypse CollectionFractured World: Courage in the Apocalypse Collection by Maira Dawn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First off, this book is a collection of multiple short stories and it is a massive book! We’re talking Stephen king sized massive, Lord of the Rings massive! The stories cover many different aspects of possible apocalyptic world. Zombies, virus outbreaks, solar flares, EMPs and even mosquitoes! Some stories are complete stand alone and some are prequels or sequels with characters we are familiar with from previous stories. It’s a great collection and definitely not what I was expecting! Happy reading!!

Ashali and the Blue Horseman is a modern day superhero adventure story by Jordan Elizabeth. I was interested soon as I saw the picture on the title. This was a fun filled, action story with just the right amount of tension, intrigue, mystery, and romance to keep things fascinating. Ashali’s life is about to take an unexpected, twisted and action-packed turn. With a gang of assassins, a vigilante, secret identities, and much more- get set for a ride on the fun side. I wouldn’t be surprised if this becomes a movie at some point on time! It was a great read!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was definitely strange, unique and a story unlike any I have read before. The chapters are short and entertaining, making the story very fast paced. There isn’t a chance to connect with the characters but doesn’t take away from any of the uniqueness of this story. The Cool Thing: A Dark Comedy. Or Not, is truly that….a dark comedy…or not. You will just have to read the book yourself to form your own opinion.

Distant Memories (Nurse Morgan Series Book 2) by Kate MacInnis – Review by Mary Espinoza

Distant Memories: A Nurse Morgan Series: Book TwoDistant Memories: A Nurse Morgan Series: Book Two by Kate MacInnis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Nurse Morgan series by Kate MacInnis. This book is a spooky romance and has a storyline so great, that if you didn’t read the first book, you won’t feel left out. It has ghosts, drama, mystery, and lots of laughs. The characters are described wonderfully as well as the different settings in the book. There were plenty of emotions that took me on a roller coaster ride. The story moves at a fast pace and doesn’t stand still for one moment. Morgan, our main character is an RN who works in the ER and has the ability to ghosts who get her in trouble a just a bit. She is dating a handsome MD and the chemistry between them is pretty hot and spicy, but just when she thinks everything is going her way…she finds herself involved in another mystery with some of her ghost friends. I highly recommend this book! Nurse Morgan is a refreshing, funny character and I cannot wait to see what is going to happen next!

The Prospect of Death (Alyssa Chalmers mysteries, #2)The Prospect of Death by Carmen Radtke

This is a great mystery and just like any great mystery, it made it an enjoyable read. This is my first book by this author and I would have to say that I’m impressed! This is a well written, well thought out story that is full of suspense and was honestly hard to put down. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into a different time and place in history. The characters are strong, creative, supportive and it truly helped bring the story to life. I found this book to be fast paced, entertaining and engaging. This is a unique story about finding out who is a murderer in order to restore peace but the murderer is getting desperate. You will truly be left in suspense and don’t want to miss what happens next in this story. I guess you will just have to read and find out what happens with the main characters and the murderer!

No Pistol Tastes the Same (PTSD Disaster Book 1) by Jacob Paul Patchen – Review by Mary Espinoza

No Pistol Tastes the SameNo Pistol Tastes the Same by Jacob Paul Patchen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a new author for me. I was not sure how I would feel about this story. This is a story about PTSD, and how it affects each person differently, and honestly it was a story that hit close to home. Jacob Paul Patchen had a unique, detailed way of telling this story. The attention to detail was outstanding, and it made me feel as if I was part of the story as well. His characters are realistic, raw and by no means did the story feel as is if it were a made up tale. The main character and his struggles will leave you asking yourself multiple questions, what would you do if you were in his shoes? Would you be able to live with yourself afterwards, the list of questions goes on and on. Through the rollercoaster of emotions, I can honestly say that you will find this is a book that is an enjoyable page turner!

Caging Grace is a powerful and emotional story about dedication, determination and overcoming barriers. Grace is strong, determined, passionate and is doing everything she can to care for her younger sister and her mom. The chance comes for Grace to make some big moves in her life, she jumps on it! Some amazing characters are thrown her way including Johnny, her trainer and Dar, a rich, snotty kid who isn’t as big and bad as he seems on the surface. Grace, Johnny and Dar end up bringing out the best of each other and they build amazing relationships are true and genuine. From page 1, I was captivated by Caging Grace, she has to deal with quite a bit of adversity, and is determined to succeed from it all!

Thorfinn and the Witch’s Curse (The Forerunner Saga Book 1) by Jay Veloso Batista – Review By Mary Espinoza

Thorfinn and the Witch's Curse (The Forerunner Series #1)Thorfinn and the Witch’s Curse by Jay Veloso Batista
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This particular story takes place in a wondrous world… Midgard, the Viking Kingdoms of ninth century England. The imagery, vivid yet accurate, brought to mind a familiar style of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings series. The story’s characters all had a unique feeling to them, and the plot was entertaining and interesting. From the beginning of the story, till the end, you are entertained and drawn to keep reading to find what happens next. Overall, this is a fascinating and excellent read, and one that I highly recommend, especially if you are drawn to and interested in Medieval and Norse mythology.

The Curse of a FaebloodThe Curse of a Faeblood by M.K. Lorber
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have found that the world of Fae is not only magical, it also some romance mixed in. I enjoyed the way the world was described and how it was introduced. The author did a good job of describing the world and the characters within it. The story has a way of pulling you in slowly and keeping your attention until the end. It is the perfect blend of fantasy, romance, mystery, and action. Ember and Gravyn, the story’s main characters had a connection from the beginning and it starts off rocky, but then quickly turns into a different kind of relationship. There were many different plot twists, but that just enhances where the story goes.

The Scent of Gardenias by Lorraine Haas – Review by Mary Espinoza

The Scent of GardeniasThe Scent of Gardenias by Lorraine Haas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh my goodness!! This is was a page turner!! I could not put this book down! Margaret Rose, which is the main character…had lived through so much heartbreak and adversity, and still refuses to give into life’s hardships. She had a rough start in life, and continues to face many different difficulties. Through it all Margaret Rose refuses to let life bring her down, she’s determined to find a way to make her mark in this world, one way or another. I could go on and on, but I don’t want to ruin the book. Lorraine Haas outdid herself with this book. To say I enjoyed this book is an understatement, I found myself lost in this book. The Scent of Gardenias is hands down one of my new favorite books.

Manipulator's War (Ruarnon Trilogy, #1)Manipulator’s War by Elise Carlson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Manipulator’s War by Elise Carlson is confusing and yet entertaining. It took awhile for me to get into this book. I really had to concentrate to keep up with the story line. It’s the first book that I have ever come across where the main character is non binary, and if you’re not paying attention at first…it is a little bit confusing. You start off in one world and wind up another. This was definitely a one of a kind book.

The Cruiser (The Hustlers Trilogy, #1)The Cruiser by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Cruiser ( The Hustlers Trilogy, #1) by Rowan Rossler, wrote a book that delivered 100%!! The Cruiser is a book that I found myself reading at every opportunity I could find during the day! Morgan and Vandana have a rocky beginning, but bring the fire by the end of the book! Morgan comes off as a pretentious, rich boy and Vandana is successful in her own way and her world is about to be turned upside down. There are so many details and situations that happen in the book, that it is so hard not to spoil the book! This is a must read if you like a good, steamy romance with some twists and turns. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this trilogy! Great job Rowan Rossler!

Everwood County Plantation: BWWM Enemies-to-Lovers Billionaire RomanceEverwood County Plantation: BWWM Enemies-to-Lovers Billionaire Romance by Stacy-Deanne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Everwood County Plantation: BWWM Enemies-to-Lovers Billionaire Romance was the first I’ve read by Stacy-Deanne. This short romance story was a quick read for me and I could not put it down. The chemistry buildup between the two main characters, billionaire Colton and florist Zenni, at first was quite a bit of arrogance between the two, but that quickly turns into a hot, steamy romance. They both feel something, but aren’t sure due to the fact that they are rivals on the matter of tearing down the Everwood plantation. Zenni feels that this plantation is her livelihood and her connection to her family’s past will be destroyed if the plantation is torn down, on the other hand, Colton wants to destroy the plantation and remove the physical reminder of the pain and suffering of the people who were enslaved there. Because of this, Zenni and Colton struggle to see that they have a strong and loving connection all because of the plantation’s history. Will they be able to connect for good, or is the plantation going to get in the way of their relationship? Read and find out!

Sashimi (Evil Sushi Book 2) by C.A. King – Review by Mary Espinoza

Sashimi (Evil Sushi #2)Sashimi by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What can I say….C.A. King is on a roll with her series Evil Sushi! I thought that book 1, Evil Sushi was awesome, but I think that Sashimi is just as good, if not better! C.A. King knows how to mix suspense with a love story, mystery, and a little bit of horror. In her first book of the series, Evil Sushi we are introduced to Rod, Ned and Sally, well the adventure continues with Rod, Ned and Sally. Ned is still a stubborn, know it all old fisherman, Rod and Sally finally tie the knot, and Evil Sushi is still lurking out there…somewhere. The human race is on the verge of extinction, and it’s up to Rod and Ned to work with the government to figure out how to stop this “virus”. Rod and Sally’s marriage is already facing turmoil, and there’s nothing Rod can do about it at this moment. The government is working with Rod, Ned and Sally to try to find a solution, but are they really looking for a true solution, or are they just using Rod, Ned and Sally. There’s so much in this book that it is so hard not to spoil it!! I will definitely be reading the third book in the series, Wasabi.

Evil Sushi by C.A. King….Wow! This book was truly a page turner and you never knew what to expect on the next page!! There’s a storm brewing, and it’s not very pretty! The main characters Rod, Ned and Sally definitely have no idea what they are getting themselves into when they go on a typical fishing trip and it turns into an unexpected catch…to say the least! C.A. King definitely knew how to set the plot and how to make you feel like you were in the book right next to the characters. Evil Sushi is a mixture of horror/suspense/love story. Evil Sushi kept me on my toes with the plot twisting every couple of pages. I can’t wait to read Sashimi, book 2 in the series. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would in a heartbeat!!

The author did an awesome job of describing the characters, the places and emotions that the characters were feeling at the time.
