Master Bistrita is the eleventh book in the Masters of the Consulate series by Sylvia Black. It is another dark paranormal romance with fated mates, vampires, shifters, witches, magic, rogues, pure bloods, politics, agendas, dramatic developments, BDSM, age gap, supernatural elements, secrets, lies, powerful foes, unexpected allies, danger, tension, intrigue, chemistry, sizzle, action, and more.
This is Master Bistrita and Chara’s story- which is a dark, tense, romantic suspense-that not only tells their story, but also helps build onto the bridging story which has been developing over the course of the series.
Again, as with the rest of the series, this is told from a duel POV- which helps deliver a fuller perspective- while building a bigger picture of developments.
There is a lot going on here, and a large ‘cast’ of characters- delivering a fast-paced read that’s descriptive and detailed.
The next is instalment — “Master Slobozia” (Book #12) releases in October, and I’m curious to see where we go from here.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Sylvia Black!

This story is fast paced with suspense, danger and a little bit of spiciness and there’s a plot twist that I didn’t see coming. It kept me on edge with every chapter. I couldn’t put it down and read this book in one night.

Although all the books in the series can be read as stand alone books, they do intertwine with the story of the war going on between the pureblood vampires and the rouge vampires and shifters, so it would have made a little more sense had I read those first, but by the second or third chapter I was able to determine what was going on. There were a lot of secondary characters that I knew nothing about other than they had found their mates and I’d like to go back and read about their love stories and get to know them as well.

I really enjoyed the main characters, Master Bistrita and Chara, and their love story. I would have liked more page time for them but I enjoyed the story overall. There’s one more book in the series and I can’t wait to read the love story between the new characters and see how the war ends.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Every time Sylvia adds another dark and delicious Master to the series, I think it is my favourite, but she keeps raising the bar. I have said it before, and I am saying it again Masters of the Consulate is one of my favourite series and it is so easy to become lost to this harsh world yet there is also something beautiful within the darkness.
This dark Vampire romance series is every paranormal reader paradise. Sylvia has cleverly created multiple threads that weave a dangerous and complex world with multilayered characters, the Masters. With a world full of paranormal beings, old world factions, rogues, wars, lies, secrets there is something for even the most discerning reader.
Wickedly delightful Master Bistrita’s story is enticing, fast paced, full of suspense and let’s not forget it is sizzling hot. He is fierce, he is loyal, he is intense, he is sexy, he is deadly. Master Bistrita is on my list of book boyfriends. Ok so are the others but still. They love hard and fiercely and will stop at nothing to keep what they deem as theirs safe.
While chasing rogues Master Bistrita finds something he does not believe in but there she is in front of his face. Fated. Mate. But there is also something much worst and shocking in the foreground that he must face and that is betrayal.
Betrayal, greed, fighting for survival, feuds, a harsh and savage underworld that is so deliciously dark and gritty. With a vividly rich narrative you can feel things escalating and coalescing to an epic and explosive ending.
There are 11 books so far in the series with the twelfth still to come. Make sure you read them in order because seriously you are missing out and the Masters cross over.
Book 1 – Master Descallia
Book 2 – Master Tascano
Book 3 – Master Trentino
Book 4 – Master Romano
Book 5 – Master Catteneo
Book 6 – Master Calabrea
Book 7 – Master Campania
Book 8 – Master Sardinia
Book 9 – Master Botosoni
Book 10 – Master Oradea
Book 11 – Master Bistrita
Book 12 – Master Slobozia the last and final book to the series. I can’t wait for it to be released. Am I selfish when I say I don’t want this series to end.

Each book in this series has been wonderful, and somehow they have been refreshingly new while still being interconnected. While it is possible to read each of these as a standalone and not be completely lost, I highly recommend reading each one in the series for the full experience. After reading just one you will end up going back to pick up the rest anyways because it is so addictive! In this book we get to know Bistrita and Chara a little deeper. A war within the vampires is bound to be destructive but revenge is a strong force. Without giving anything away, I will tell you that the drama and suspense is heavier in this one more than the previous. This would be a perfect book if you enjoy intense paranormal books. Don’t forget to pick up the other books in the series as well to feed your addiction!

This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. This is the eleventh book in this series. I highly suggest reading the previous books as well. They are just as great as this one. I enjoy how the author is able to pull me into the character’s world from the start. I also enjoy the attention to details that this author puts into her book to make them come to life. This book is no different. This is a well written story that is full of steam, vampires and has a dark twist to it. The characters are creative and connectable. They add so much to the story which makes it easy and entertaining to read. I enjoyed the growth throughout the story which also made it hard to put down. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next book in this series.

I may have found my favorite in this series. Master Bistrita and Chara’s story is one of fiesty independence, spitfire, and who’s in control. Alas, book 11 of the series, this means we are close to the end of the series. I have followed this since book 1. The best way to read this series is in order so that you can understand what’s going on. I do like how the characters start to tie things together. As the story has gone along, all the Masters and their mates have followed into the next story and made an appearance. This story is fast-paced, lots of paranormal action. There’s even some steamy romance. There are lots of twists mixed in the story. I can’t wait for the final book. This is a must read if you like dark vampire reads.
