My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The continuation of Blue Summer, this sequel follows the cliffhanger of Part One. This sequel is filled with more uncovered truths about the Zayed and Lillie, romance, magic, and thrilling scenes. If you liked the first book, you’ll love the second. Another fast-paced read, Blue Summer Part Two starts off with the events of the previous book and concludes the Blue Summer books. By the end of the book, I was satisfied with the ending.

The Earl’s Scandalous Wager by Wareeze Woodson – Review by Angela Hayes

The Earl's Scandalous WagerThe Earl’s Scandalous Wager by Wareeze Woodson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Earl’s Scandalous Wager by Wareeze Woodson.
This is an historical romance, written in the old school style- keeping true to the language and style of the era. I read a lot of historical romances, but it did take me a few beats to get into the style of writing, as well as this type of dialogue, but it didn’t take too long for me to settle into the story. Everything was very ‘proper’, including the intimate scenes- where the sex was suggested, but not depicted in any great detail. Again, in keeping with the era- and the old school style.
Emily is quite beside herself when her stepbrother, and legal guardian, places his bets in a card game by using her as his collateral. You guessed it, her brother loses the bet, and Emily becomes the Earl of Lenbridge’s prize of the night. What will he decide to do with her? Will it all end in heartache and scandal? If you really want to know, then you should snap up a copy and discover all the details for yourself- no spoilers here.
While I did enjoy the story for the most part, there were a few frustrating moments for me that detracted a little from my overall enjoyment of the story. I found that the storyline was full of contradictions… things that pulled me out of the story and made me go back to reread sections thinking that I had maybe misread or misunderstood them. But no, I hadn’t- the story was just contradicting itself a little. Things like;
“Not that Annalise was necessarily vicious, but she certainly enjoyed tweaking Emily when she could.”
Then only a short while later, this…
“Annalise would use the information to discredit his wife. Annalise was a spiteful, jealous cat…”
And this is just one example of quite a few instances of contradictions- it really frustrated me.
This is my first read by Wareeze Woodson, so I will definitely explore more of her work in order to get a better ‘feel’ for her style and stories.
If you love old school historical romances, with meddling relatives, jealous adversaries, hidden agendas, danger, and drama- then this is definitely the book for you.

Thank you, Wareeze Woodson!

I’m Vanessa and I have this thing I do that brings out the inner beauty in people. Can’t really
explain it; I just do it — but my talent seems to have ticked off a goddess or two.
And I’ve no idea why.
My first major lesson in life came when my billionaire father left us — with nothing.
Thanks, Dad.
That’s when I realized there are only two types of men: angels and — yeah — the other “A”
word.
Mind you, I’m about to meet a few guys who might, actually, be both.
Hard to imagine, huh?
First off, Grey. He’s the Don of the Underworld. And being an a-hole is pretty much part of the
job. But as you might imagine, he’s sexy as Hell.
Then, there’s Aroz — literally an angel — with the whole nine yards…golden wings, lusty love
arrows, and to-die-for lips as curvaceous as his well-strung bow…which isn’t the only thing of
his that’s well-strung, by the way.
And finally, Raef. Meeting him turned my attitude toward men on its head. And as good as
forced me to add a third category to the list. Gentlemen.
Now, I’ve got three categories and three sexy-as-sin men.
Well, I guess there are worse problems to have…
Oh, wait. I might have a few of those, too.

The Hunter’s Heart (Love After Earth) by Astrid Sharpe is a Sci Fi romance and her debut book. The creativity is not limited and Astrid’s world building and character building which is vividly rich in its descriptions and enticing to even someone like me who is not a huge sci fi buff. There is fun and easy banter and sexy attraction. It is a great start to this new series, and I am excited to see where it goes. Good work Astrid.

This is the first book I have read by Phoebe Alexander, and I can tell you it has been a hot and steamy ride. If you don’t like hot and steamy, then don’t read it but by the cover of the book you can tell it is already. Not only does the writer incorporate some no string attached playboy type stuff, but she pulls at the heart strings of the reader when you find out the mother is a single mother who has a child that is sick. Playboy who keeps on playing, or someone who trips up and falls in love? Keep reading because there are twist and turns on this roller coaster of a story!

Wild Vamp (Jaded Vamp Book 2) by L.D. Wosar is a romance story. This is a fast-paced vampire tale that I enjoyed from start to finish. I thought vampires were done to death, but LD gave us a fresh look, and I loved the humour sparked with the action, the danger and adventure to make it a good read. The timeline of the story has jumped forward by quite a few years compared to the first book. If you love a little grit and grime, violence, and blood then you will love this.

Forbidden WolfForbidden Wolf by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

C.R Robertson did a well job in portraying a vivid image so the reader could envision the book, playing just as a movie did. This book is not for the kids 12 and under as there are sexual depictions through the entirety of it. I despised Tasha’s coven leader but that is nothing to do with the author in themselves, it added to the story and the reasoning behind the need of Levi and Tasha’s bonding. The hate, the neediness, the pure emotional turmoil both characters went through as well as the hidden lies that lay for centuries between them. Will they come together, or will the war and world rip them apart? It is your choice to read this fantastic book and find out.

I truly enjoyed reading this! I probably felt a little more attached to it since it was a military guy and his girl. I loved the description of the town, the parents’ (on both sides) involvement, and how Patience got back to herself before moving on from her loveless marriage. May did a fantastic job of making Duke redeem himself before getting the girl!

It says book 1, which means there should be more in this series! My hope is that it’s about the rest of their guy friends and finding love!

Dirty Tactics (Special Weapons & Tactics Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Peyton Banks – Review by Sunday Barnaby

Dirty Tactics by Peyton Banks

Narrated by Wen Ross and Teri Taylor

Five Stars

Dirty Tactics is the first book in the Special Weapons & Tactic series by Peyton Banks. This is the first book I have listed to by Ms. Banks, but definitely won’t be the last. I enjoyed this book from the very start. Marcus and Sarena have off the charts chemistry and the intimate scenes are Hot, Hot, Hot,

This book packs a bunch of action in its five plus hours. I can’t wait to listen to the next book in this series.

Wen Ross does a wonderful job narrating, as usual, bringing the characters to life. This is the first book I have listened to Trei Taylor narrate, but won’t be the last. She did a wonderful job.

Sugar & Spice by Phoebe Alexander
Four Stars

Sugar & Spice is the first book in the Spicetopia series by Phoebe Alexander. This book was just what I anticipated from Ms. Alexander. The main characters Jolie Cox, a single mother, and Cy Sweet, the son of an amusement park owners, meet while they are each playing roles at Sweetopia. Their chemistry is off the chart, and the dialogue is full of sass. This book kept me up long into the night, just to see what happened in the end. This is a great start to what I hope is a superb series.

The Cross of CiaranThe Cross of Ciaran by Andrea Matthews
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ths Cross of Ciaran was an interesting read for me, while I’ve never really been into novels involving history Ms. Matthews has a way of including it that makes interesting. During this novel she takes us back in time and then brings us back to the present flawlessly. Ms. Matthews sets a beautiful scene with her vivid descriptions, great word building, and fantastic characters. For being one of my first history romance novel I found the plot to be interesting, and Ms. Matthews writing style flows wonderfully. So while this is my first romance novel, I highly recommend The Cross of Ciaran as a highly interesting Romance novel to read.

Wild Vamp is book two of this series and it had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Wild Vamp is full of twists and turns, its mysterious and dark but just enough that it has you flipping through the pages as fast as you can. I will admit that I was originally drawn to it just based on the front cover, but it is one of the better vampire novels that I have read in a long time. Ms. Woser’s character descriptions are amazing, each vamp either sexy, beautiful, smart, or any perfect combination of characteristics. Her setting perfectly dark and mysterious, just the right setting for a dark romance novel. So if your looking for a dark, fun novel to read this weekend I highly recommend Wild Vamp.

Secure Decision (Chase Security Series Book 5) by R.L. Dunn – Review by Juls Dick

Secure Decision (Chase Security Series Book 5)Secure Decision by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Secure Decision by RL Dunn is the 5th book in the Chase Security series, each book follows a different member of the team and can be read as a stand alone however I find it easier to keep track of who everyone is, as I have read each book in sequence.
Secure Decision follows Wes, a Chase Security Exec who has been tasked with opening and running the companies newest training centre, and Eleanor, who is hired as the head of the equine therapy team. Unfortunately, she is also on the run from her past and it seems that it is starting to catch up with her. When bodies start showing up on the grounds and the team is targeted by outside subjects it becomes difficult for the team to know who to trust. I really liked all the books in this series so far, but this one might be my favourite. It is fast paced, and action packed with a bit of romance thrown in too. It makes you really care for the characters and you find yourself cheering them on. I highly recommend to fans of this genre.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was very impressed with the plot of this book. The author has a well-developed plot with a ton of details. Many twists are revealed as you read, some I didn’t expect. My favorite character was the hero, Wes. He was perfect for the troubled heroine of this book. I will say that sometimes scenes were so detailed that I bogged down with the medical and military terminology. I’m a fast reader, and the author definitely made me slow down. I felt like I was going to miss a detail, even going back and re-reading a few paragraphs. Overall, a really good read with a plot that keeps you guessing.

I really enjoyed this book. It started with a mystery from the beginning and didn’t rush through everything, but built up slowly and consistently. I love history and enjoy the little bits of Gaelic, Latin and Celtic history interwoven into the story. The idea is unique, from what I have seen so far, and a great spin looking at the past. Turning Wheels (Satan's Devils MC, #1)Turning Wheels by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was my first book by this author. I am a huge fan of Sons Of Anarchy and this was a perfect fit for that genre. This is the story of Wraith and Sophie. I love Sophie, she is insecure about her womanhood after an accident puts her in a wheelchair. For her safety she is taken to the Satan’s Outlaws, and MC in the states. She is thrown into their lifestyle which she has never been exposed to before but makes friends as she starts to come out of her shell. This book made me feel every emotion; fear, sadness, anger, love, and joy.
Wraith never thought to find someone that rocks his world enough to have an “old lady”, but he knows there is something different about Sophie as soon as he meets her. He wonders though, if she will fit into his hardcore world. Would love to see more about this couple and am looking forward to reading more books in this series.

Sleeping Angel (Soul Connection Book 2) by Nikki Lynn Barrett

Sleeping Angel is the second book in the Soul Connection Series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. This is a Paranormal Romance that is packed with mystery, suspense, anger, grief , ghosts . Although this can be read as a standalone I do however recommend reading the first book to get to know the characters. This is my favorite yet. I found myself lost in the pages while on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. This is Logan and Angel’s story. Both of the have experienced something tragic. Logan lost his little sister and Andi and he has become a very angry drunk. She witnessed something she should have spoken up about sooner than she did. They both have anger and regret. What happens when he wakes up in the hospital and is the reason why Angel is now in someone else’s body. Find out what happens next in this emotional rollercoaster ride that the twists and turns will have you turning the pages to see what happens next. I highly recommend reading this book and I can’t wait to read more from this Author.
