Even being part of a series this book was easy t0 read without having read others! The characters definitely make this book very engaging and hard to put down! The plot is well written and feels very well thought out and put together. The story has a nice hook that keeps readers attention and personally makes me want to read others in this series!

This poetry book was awesome! The art work was fantastic as well. Becker lets you in on all of his struggles and accomplishments through his poetry stories. He gets you sucked in right from the beginning. I definitely want to read more of his work.

In Savage Truth, we continue the story of Riley and Cole. Riley is still feeling unsafe in the Savage household and her mom is pulling away. Cole, unaware of the danger Riley and Raelynn are in, still torments and pines after Riley. This was a good follow up to the 1st book in the series and picked up right where we left off. This book offers more closure into their relationship and telling us the full history of Riley’s lifestyle. While I do like romantic suspense, the teen angst in this series is a bit much. So much drama that as an adult reading gives me eye roll moments. The possessiveness of Cole was also giving me red flag moments although I feel the author was trying to add more drama into the story. Good read overall.

The conspiracy theory behind a government entity ignoring laws and procedures to turn a profit is something you hear about often. At the very least I do. I loved the questions at the end of the book that make you think about what you have read. More authors should do this! I want to discuss a book with someone once I finish a novel, but the questions helped me settle that feeling.
This book was very interesting. It gives Alice in Wonderland vibes. It is also pretty corny, especially near the end. It didn’t stop me from reading it though. I highly enjoyed every page. We all have to face our fears eventually and Miranda’s strength shows that anyone can preserve. I recommend this to anyone looking for a fast paced, conspiracy thriller. I have not been able to put down a novel by this author once I start it, so I may have found a new favorite author!

This novel is well written, but I have to admit that I am confused by many things. I will definitely have to go back and read the first of the series to see what I have missed. That being said, I recommend picking up the first book then diving into the second. This novel is very short and took me a little over an hour to read from start to finish.
I would have liked more character development, but I could have missed most of that development from the first book. However, the storyline is so fun and entertaining. Overall, I recommend to any fantasy lover. Just make sure to read the first in the series then this one!

Yeti Left Home by Aaron Rosenberg is a wonderfully written Fantasy/Supernatural that I truly enjoyed reading. This is my first book by this author and definitely not my last. Going in I wasn’t real sure what to expect but I was intrigued by the cover and the fact that I was super curious about this Yeti. Boy was I wrong but im happy I took the chance on this book. I can totally relate to Wiley and the feeling like you don’t quite fit in or belong but you push through and keep on keeping on. Wiley is content and happy just hanging out at his little cabin in the woods. But soon his world will take a turn when murders start happening and hunter shows up in his woods . Wiley leaves his home and heads to the Big City where he discovers a whole different kind of world and people. What will happen when Wiley sees the Hunter in the big city? This may not have been was I was expecting but it was what I needed to read. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Stay For Me is the fifth book in the Balefire series by Tam DeRudder Jackson. It is a contemporary second chances rockstar romance, with past pain, love, loss, heartache, drama, humour, emotion, angst, plenty of chemistry, and steam. Even though this is the fifth book in the series, it could be read as a standalone if you wanted, as each book in the series focuses on a different member of the Balefire rock band. I have to be honest, I really wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy this book going in, as I wasn’t a fan of Garrett as he’d been a bit of jerk in the past (books). So, I was prepared to not like this book at all. But Ms. DeRudder Jackson surprised me and won me over through the course of the story. Ten years ago, Garret made the biggest mistake of his life. I just adore her books- she really is an amazing storyteller and produces fresh, original, and creative stories that fire my imagination and leave me wanting to stay in the ‘worlds’ and stories she creates. I have definitely developed an addiction to her work… and I need my next fix STAT 😊 This a captivating urban fantasy/paranormal romance with prophecy, magic, shifters, Fae, supernatural elements, demons, angels, secrets, agendas, danger, drama, high stakes, action, adventure, tension, intrigue, chemistry, suspense, mysteriousness, humour, witty banter, a quest, powerful rings/relics, a key, ex-issues, interesting/quirky characters, witness protection, small town, self-discovery, and opposites attract. I love the way Lois Wickstrom’s stories always have fun lessons placed within them in such a way that you really don’t realize you’re learning. I often find it’s more fun to read and then get hands-on by trying the experiments in her books versus being taught by lectures and textbooks like I was taught as a child. In most cases, if a child can get excited about doing an activity, they often retain the information they are learning more and for longer periods of time. The lessons that are incorporated at the end of her stories are an added bonus for the more inquisitive readers who want to understand how and why these things happen. This would be an excellent book to use in a classroom setting to help students learn.
This book is about Alex the Inventor who never wants anything to go to waste but would rather repurpose it (which is a great segway into learning about recycling and the environment also). Alex uses her imagination to try and find other uses for the magnets from the refrigerator. Through trial and error (experiments) she learns more about magnetic energy and how the magnets react to multiple things. I love the way the character keeps trying and doesn’t give up. If one idea fails, she tries either a different way or something new. This is a great read with beautifully rendered illustrations that enhance the story. Adults and children alike could all learn from and enjoy reading this book and the lesson at the end of it.

This was a great 5 star read. Rowan and her family have been working on getting her inn ready for a family wedding. There is an unexpected twist that turns her world upside down in several ways. It was a heartbreaking moment, my emotions were all over the place. Chris shows up in town and his plans end up changing when he offers to help Rowan. As they work together their feelings start to build, I really enjoyed the banter between them. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in. I really liked all of the characters. It felt like we got more than one story. If you like romantic suspense I suggest you 1-click and get started today. Full of suspense and mysterious adventures, I sat on the edge of my seat the entire time. This was a really good read! This author never seems to disappoint and once again I’m proven right with this book. I wasn’t expecting so much to be put in a book this short (less than 100 pages) and I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with what a good story it was. The end seemed to be left open to me, so I’m hoping there’s more to come with these characters. I would love to visit them again!
My family and I love it anytime we pick up a book by Lois Wickstrom! We know we are in for a fun, educational adventure and this one was no different. Not only does it include a great message of not letting anything go to waste, but good things come with using your imagination! Alex finds a way to use what seem like ordinary objects to try and build a flying carpet. It got my kiddos thinking and they tried building their own flying carpet which led to a ton of giggles and fun. We had some good conversations as well, which is not unusual with this authors work! This is another great one for the family or classroom to teach about scientific experiments as well as creative problem-solving.

This book has EVERYTHING. I was hooked from the 1st chapter. I lost sleep. I ordered pizza instead of cooking… I could NOT put this book down. The characters are so well written. The plot is strong. The story flows. There is some MAJOR twists I did NOT expect. Usually I can figure out the “who done it” aspect of books. But this one had me SHOCKED. I 100% recommend this book!!!

I never miss a book by this author and I’m glad to see the series continuing! I love everything about Tam DeRudder Jackson’s writing. The way she pulls you in and makes you completely forget about what’s going on around you. The world she creates encapsulates you so quickly that you don’t even realize what happened. Garrett broke Olivia’s heart years ago when he chose his career over his future love life with her. He says he has never forgotten her, but she’s not falling for it quite so easily. Fool me once! Olivia used that pain as fuel to get her name recognized as a music video director, but it’s starting to flame out. Will she give him a chance to show her what he’s made of, or has the pain of him leaving left her too devastated to try? I highly recommend picking up not only this book, but the entire Balefire series!

This gripping series continues with Queen Titania’s journey unfolding in her quest to save her people, the Fae. This easily proves to be her biggest challenge yet. This is the first work I have read by the talented Ryan M. Becker. While initially I wasn’t sure about this book the cover and title stuck in my mind until I finally caved in to see what journey it would take me on. A collection of fifty-seven poems that range from a short half page to six pages long. This book will leave you scratching your head with the thoughts it provokes. Though I have the kindle version only for now, the art was a huge part of the poems as each one has its own design. Amongst the collection I mostly connected with thirteen of them that reached a deeper part of me. That said I found a quote or stanza in nearly every poem that I felt a connection to, that made me pause for a moment and think deeper about why it affected me. The very first poem “The Story of Me and What’s to Be” had the following line that I couldn’t resist but to write it down to remember it later “…doctor made me manic, then made me panic he made my thoughts gigantic…” I feel all too often in our world that people would rather slap a label on something than figure out the route of the issue. Another thought-provoking line was from poem number five “Euphoric Rhythm in My Mind: A Voice Inside It Screams” which is “…night so mare, a scare so rare, never share what’s under there a secret you they thought they knew a better view that’s split in two…”. This entire collection is strongly focused on music and how the author interpreted the lyrics and feelings into his own creations on paper. I finished this book about an hour ago and still have several lines stuck in my head that when strung together seem a little psychedelic, bits, and pieces from several of the poems. Overall, this book made me feel connected to the words within, though my thoughts or feelings mission accomplished by the author to Stimulate the Scenes and Open the Mind.

This is a good book with a great plot. The characters are well-developed and have growth throughout the book.
This book focuses on Natalie and Grayson. Natalie is a woman on a mission to uncover something about her late father. Grayson is one of the best architects and has built more elaborate walls around himself.
Natalie meets Grayson while working in a job that she is overqualified for while looking for answers. She’s not one of the girls in the office that gossips and waits around for Grayson to notice her. She gets her work done and is pretty persistent. Grayson is a force to be reckoned with he goes after what he wants.
What happens when a self reliant woman meets a strong-willed man? Can she break down his walls? Will he find out the secrets she tries to hide? What will happen when the truth final comes out? Read to find out.

This is the second book in the Balefire series that I have read, but it is the fifth in the series. This book is so well written and it sucks you right in. Years ago, Olivia was the one who got away. The one that he left for the band. This time he gets a second chance at love with Olivia. However, will he mess it up again or will she be too hurt from before to even let him in. I definitely recommend picking this one up to see what happens. It packs on the steam as well as showing well written characters.

Cynthia Hamilton is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her books always feature wonderful characters and fast paced plot featuring plenty of suspense. This story is definitely not an exception. Madeline, Mike and the rest of the team receive another complicated set of cases. In the first, they must determine where some money has gone from a friend’s company. In another, a worried family seeks to find information regarding their father’s fiance. However, the team gets very confused when nothing is what it seems and the cases begin to cross into one another. If you love a good mystery with well developed characters and many plot twists this is definitely the book for you!

Once again, Lois Wickstrom does not disappoint. She has written such a beautiful story with wonderful characters. In this story, a young inventor loves to make use of every thing, she doesn’t like to see anything go to waste. A refrigerator magnet crosses her path and she is definitely stumped by what to do. She uses her imagination as she tries to come up with something to do with this magnet. This story is definitely great at reinforcing the idea of using your imagination. It also shows how you can repurpose things that you find and give them new life. This is a great story for young children and would be best suited for elementary aged students.

Madeline Dawkins the PI is back and she has some new cases to investigate, hot on the tail of her last case, two more fall into her lap and they both happen to be old friends of Madeline’s, as she brings her team up to date on the details of the first case, she outlines that it is money related, a trusted bookkeeper has disappeared after calling in sick at work, nobody has heard from her since, however, it has been found that a serious amount of money has also disappeared along with her. In the second case, a friends widowed father is embarking on nuptials with a much younger woman who he met while working on a project and a whirlwind romance has taken everyone by surprise and his son is worried that he may be being blinded by rose tinted glasses.
Madeline is both intrigued and worried by both these cases, especially when she and her team start to dog deeper into the fact surrounding them both, but as they do this digging, more questions than answers appear, especially when some facts are coincidentally very similar to other cases they have been involved in. As for the background check on the fiancée it turns out that she is not all she says she is and nothing is as it appears on the surface, but as their options run out on her true intentions and identity, it appears time may be running out.
In the investigation, it all seems to boil down to money and the trails it leaves behind, but can the team find the missing bookkeeper and retrieve the money which has been stolen, or will they end up with a less than satisfactory ending? Can Madeline find any information about this mystery woman with apparently no background at all before a widower is taken advantage of and his life thrown into disarray again? This is yet another fast paced thriller where a team of private investigators hunt down the answers to multiple mysteries, all while trying to stay out of danger and the implications of chasing financial trails, as you follow along these trails to their final turn.

This is the 8th book in the series and can be read as a standalone, however I will be going back to read from the beginning for character backgrounds to better understand them. This is the second book of the series that I’ve read and I enjoyed it as much as the other I read. I enjoy the characters we return to and their investigative styles and the personal connections which seem to appear. The characters are strong, and each stand out in their own right, especially Madeline who is strong and resilient despite everything thrown at her. Once again there are multiple cases on the go, but a combination of the flow the author’s writing possesses and the talent the author has of clear communication, the cases remain easy to follow. This clarity does not interfere with the author’s ability to build the tension and danger within and surprise you with a twist here and there which is great. As with the last book, the cases being investigated are engaging, keeping you invested in the characters and resolution of the investigations. I can’t wait to go back and read from book 1!

This is the first book I have read by Cynthia Hamilton and this most definitely won’t be my last. In fact, I have already ordered a few more to read next. She writes so very well that I most definitely think she will become one of my must read authors. This is a book in the Madeline Dawkins series and it definitely acts as a standalone. Madeline receives a call from her father and she rushes with Mike to her father’s side. It is there that she discovers that someone is revealing deep dark secrets of the residents at her father’s assistant living. These are secrets that the residents thought would never see the light of day. While working on this case, Madeline and her team receive another case. One that hits very close to home for Madeline. Do they have enough resources to solve both cases? Will they be successful? This book is filled with wonderful characters and plenty of suspense. I definitely recommend reading it!

What can you do when one of your fridge magnets breaks? This is the question that Alex, the Inventor, a young girl with a bright mind comes across when one of her fridge magnets breaks and she has to find something to do with it.
So what can magnets do, apart from sticking to fridges? This is the first of many experiments Alex will investigate and when she discovers that they can push apart as well as stick together, this leads onto ideas of how she can use these facts, including whether she can use magnets to make a magic carpet.
This is a great way for kids to learn about the basics of the science behind magnets in a way which is both entertaining and interesting for the young and old alike in this charming and well thought out educational book.
