Avenging Devil Part 1 is the third in the Satan’s Devil MC San Diego series and WOW! This book is emotional and hits on some very sensitive subjects but that in no way deflects from the story. Saffie and Niran seem to have everything stacked against them. She is scared of MC’s and rightfully so. He cannot get his head around why it is so important for him to make sure Saffie is safe. Heads up: this book has a heck of a cliff hanger! I cannot read the next book fast enough!

This author seems to pull at your heartstrings in the most profound ways through storytelling. I’ve read numerous books by this author and have captivated me after reading them. This book is no different as worlds collide but don’t end like you’d suspect. You will enjoy this one just as much as I did.

Niran is a biker with the Satan’s Devils MC, he has been a member for a couple of years and was a United States Marine before that, he only left when he was medically retired due to losing his leg and had been drifting in a civilian life until he came across the MC and never looked back, even though the prospecting was hard work. Saffie is a broken woman in more ways than one, she thought she had met the man of her dreams until she married him and it all went downhill from there and five years later, she is still a prisoner in his eyes and the eyes of those around him, but one day after she is beaten to within an inch of her life and needs to go to the hospital. It is in that hospital that she makes a decision which will change her life again, she finds out that she is pregnant with his child, but that though terrifies her enough to agree and accept an offer of help to finally escape her life of hell.

Niran is at work as usual in the auto shop the Devil’s own and he is waiting for his boss and fellow member to get back from a trip to LA, however, when he calls and asks Niran to go to the hospital with his old lady for an prenatal appointment, Niran is honoured to be asked and accepts with no questions asked. Saffie meanwhile is trying to settle down in her new life in San Diego, but she is worried that her husband will find her and drag her back, so she moves to a different and cheaper apartment and now that a few months have passed and he is still nowhere in sight, Saffie decides to go and get a check up and see how her baby is doing. As Niran is escorting his boss’s old lady into the hospital, he notices a woman sat on her own and his eyes keep getting drawn back to her, he thinks no more of it until after the appointment where he sees the woman again in the car park crying hysterically and neither he, nor the woman he is accompanying can leave her in such a state, so they go over and talk to her and try to offer some comfort. In the process of doing this they offer to drive her home, she accepts the woman’s help, however appears terrified of Niran, which he can understand with him being a tall, well built black man. When they get to her apartment, it is not the best place for a woman on her own to be living, so after she has calmed down a bit Niran offers to stay while his companion returns home, Saffie isn’t especially comfortable with this, but she grees because she doesn’t want to be on her own and for some reason, she feels comfortable with him.

This is how the two spend the next few days with Niran staying at the apartment after work until one day she finds out who he is associated with and throws him out of the house, she is even more terrified than before and refuses any more of his help, that is until a few weeks later when he finds out something has happened and steps in to offer his help and comfort again, but this is something Saffie still isn’t comfortable with despite assurances from multiple different people. However, she receives information that her past is possibly coming back to haunt her and she realises that she may need Niran’s help after all, but will she be able to get over her misgivings and accept the help offered to her, or will she run for the hills and disappear? This is an MC romance with a dark twist which will hook you in and keep you on the edge of your seat throughout.

The Halfling’s Court (A Bad-Ass Faerie Tale Book 1) by Danielle Ackley-McPhail is a great fantasy story

Put your badass hat on! The rumbling of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Black leather glints in the light. Polished chrome has a gleam to it. The unrestricted freedom of the wide road. As Lance Cosain, the halfling head of The Wild Hunt MC, defends his land and his people from attacks ordered by Dair na Scath, the high king of the fae, motorcycles collide with magic and mayhem. Lance just wants to settle down with his wife after fending off renegade fae, redcaps, and enraged road gremlins. Instead, he fights the high king’s champion for an ancient blade and his right to the kingdom. Who will come out on top? Is it better to be king of the road or king of the realm? In either case, the hunt is on!

I loved this story and the concept of it as well.I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is the first book in the series and I can’t wait to read more. I would love to continue the story.

Of the other Satan’s Devils MC books, this one is definitely more my style. This book is filled with dark moments and traumatic storylines, which may not be for some readers. And the cliffhanger is killing me! However, don’t let all of that scare you and miss out on this evolving and riveting story of Niran and Saffie. Niran was an intriguing character in the other books in this series, where we learned that he is an ex-marine and an amputee, but I always got the sense that his story would be worth the wait. In Avenging Devil, Niran wasn’t even out looking for love. He was only helping out his club and a friend, which is SO Niran. However, he stumbled upon Saffie, whom certainly wasn’t in any shape for romance, but Niran refuses to let her slip away. I cannot wait to find out how the rest of this story unfolds in part 2!

Being Lost (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #1)Being Lost by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Being Lost is the first book in this riveting series about the San Diego chapter of the Satan’s Devils MC. I can’t get enough of the way that Manda Mellett paints such a detailed and realistic picture of her fictional worlds and takes the reader along for the ride. This story has many different mysterious plots and aspects that slowly unfold throughout the book, which keeps the reader on their toes. Lost is certainly one sexy Silver Fox and it was exciting to get a peek into his head and watch his transformation throughout the book, from an unsure man that is always second-guessing himself to a much stronger character, as the relationship between him and Patsy develops. You’ve got to love when a good woman brings out the best in her man. I can’t wait to binge-read more from this talented author!

I will preface this by saying if you have triggers while reading, this will tick alot of those boxes. This isnt for the faint of heart and i was so emotional with this book. I have cried and screamed at many of this authors books but this one, this one knocked me down and kept me an emotional mess with a lot of it.

Niran and Saffie, I dont even know how to explain without laying it all out there. But I know their story will have you a crazy mess and begging for the next part because that cliffhanger ending has me ready to beg for part 2 now. If you need the next part immediately then wait for part 2 to be released before even starting this one.

I love MC reads so I was excited to read this mixture of MC with Paranormal and I really enjoyed it.

Lance is the leader of the Wild Hunt MC. He is half human and fae but he knows little about his fae side. Things take a twist when his old lady is taken by someone from the fae side. Will he be able to protect his club and find his old lady?

Overall this was a good read. We get a look at both worlds during the read that is in Lance’s POV. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right into her world. All of the characters added a great element to the story. This is my first read from this author and I look forward to reading more from her and the series. 1-click and get started today.

I give The Halfling’s Court (A Bad-Ass Faerie Tale Book 1) by Danielle Ackley-McPhail, 4 stars.

This was quite an interesting book. I am used to seeing Motorcycle Club books in the hot romance category. It was refreshing to see that was not the case here. While they are enjoyable, I like that this book is so different. Throw in the Fae courts and fantasy characters, mix it with a motorcycle club of Fae and humans battling some corrupted creatures, and you have this book. It is full of honor and action. The characters are great, especially Lance. He has very endearing qualities and has to learn just what he is as the story goes on. The other characters are so good too, I really hope to learn more about them in future books. The action starts in the very beginning of the book and continues until the end. It is such a wonderfully woven tale of fantasy and action and I highly recommend it. I cannot wait to read the next book.

The Halfling's Court (A Bad-Ass Faerie Tale Book 1)The Halfling’s Court by Danielle Ackley-McPhail
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lance Cosain is half fae, his mother was fae and his father is human, they are not close, but they are still family, but Lance has other family, his MC family in the Wild Hunt of whom he is the Wind Walker, they are a group of Harley Davidson riding, leather wearing people, both human and fae alike and they live side by side in harmony with the local fae. The Dair na Scath is the High King of the Fae Realm in Underhill, he has been for a long time and he has a faithful and loyal court around him, but he has become corrupted by power and greed, so when some of his court betray him and leave, he cannot but be furious, however, when he is told that they are dead, he breaths a small sigh of relief, or at least he does for a time.

Lance is just trying to live his life with his lady and prepare for the Steel Horse Stampede, however, when his lady is late and nobody has heard from her, he knows something is wrong, so he does what he does best and goes to find her and see what has happened, however, when he gets there, it isn’t what he expected. The wind starts to blow up a storm followed by a column of darkness coalescing in the middle of the crossroads as a derisive voice throws insults and derisive comments towards Lance and his right hand man just before he reveals himself as a fae, but the most surprising thing is the team of redcaps who have someone in their grasp. Lance barely manages to control himself as he battles with the fae to leave his friend free to free the prisoner, however, although he injures the fae, Lance is brought down by the relentless attacks and his friend is suffering too, although what happens next nearly kills Lance, but allows him to push the fae back to his own realm.

When they have all recovered and have enough strength to return to their home, Lance has to have some difficult conversations, although he isn’t sure if he is getting all the information he needs, however, he has to make do, especially when he is told that more fae will come for him. It is when he is on his way home a few days later when he is attacked again, but this time by a gremlin which does more damage than he expects, however, again he manages to succeed in taming another opponent, but when he later receives a message from the High King of the Fae himself, Lance knows that he has to protect everything he loves now more than ever, but will he be able to defeat a full blood fae, or will his halfling limitations cause him to taste a defeat more painful than any other before? This is a fantastic blend of fantasy and MC romance which will have you on the edge of your seat throughout, as the action continues and the fae on opposite sides fight for both family and honour.

I really loved this book as it contains two of my favourite subjects and motorcycle club and fantasy. The author has for a unique theme for this book with the mix of danger with the MC club and the mystery and magic that surrounds the magical world.
The MC part of the story keeps the book placed into reality which gives the story a realistic feeling. You actually feel that it could happen.

Lance is a halfling. He is leader of his MC club and it is his job to protect his club and his people from threats. However some threats are worse than others and the when King of the fae comes after him Lance had a war on his hands he never anticipated.  Will Lance take his rightful place as the new king of the Fae? What happened to the ancient dagger? Will Lance’s life be the same and can he protect his people?

This book is a Bad-Ass Faerie Tale features an intriguing mix of bikers and elves an exciting novel full of action and adventure that will change your mind about just how bad-ass faeries can be. A well thought out and crafted book of two worlds blended together to compel this amazing story.
The characters are immensely likable, and I found myself growing quite fond of them, Lance being an amazing biker that takes finding out so much of a world that he didn’t know anything about. One that he didn’t know and the one he was living in were he just wanted to settle down and be with his girl. With so many that he needed to protect, lance goes into this role and crushed it, making it very exciting to read.
This book is a fast=paced adventure produces a compelling story, that was a lot of fun to read. an entertaining twist on the two worlds together to see who would win, a page-turning tale and a must definite read.

The Halflings Court By Danielle Ackley-McPhail sure is a Bad-Ass Faerie Book! It is my very first book by the author and I loved it. She is a very talented and descriptive writer who makes you feel like you are right there in the book every step of the way. Mixing Faerie and a motorcycle club is something I haven’t seen anywhere else and it’s such an awesome combination.

Lance is a Halfling and head of The Wild Hunt MC, after an attack on his lovely Susanne, he discovers there is so much more to himself and he suspects to his own family. He knows his aunt and uncle who have basically raised him after his mother died during child birth, are hiding something. Even his human father who he has a rather strained relationship with knows more then he is telling him. One thing he knows for sure is that trouble is coming and he is not backing down, he is going to kick arse!!

i truly hope this is just the first of many more Bad-Ass Faerie Tales.

This is the first book that I have read from this author. She really impressed me. If Sarah J Maas and Manda Mellett ever collaborated on a book, this would be it. These two happen to be my favourite authors and for me to put this author up there with them, I tip my hat. Just the fact that Ms. Ackley-McPhail thought to meld the Fae and a motorcycle club shows how imaginative she is. Why didn’t anyone think of this before? I loved the book.

Lance is a halfling who runs a motorcycle club. He’s been kept in the dark about his Fae heritage. He just wants to settle down with the love of his life, Suzanne. When she gets attacked, his Fae powers emerge, causing him to get noticed by the Dair Na Scath, the Fae king. No good can come if that and a war commences. Only one Fae can rule, who will it be?

Different take on a book when you have Fae + MC = Very good story. Lucas is half fae half human character. When he grows up, he becomes part of the Wild Hunt MC. When Lucas finds that is girl is taken by the dark fae, nothing will stand in his way to rescue her. Will the dark fae win or will Lucas save his girl in time…..if you like stories with magic, action, fantasy along with MC Fae (which is new and very intriguing) this book is for you. Cannot wait to continue this series.

Manda Mellett is keeping me up at night with all these good stories. It’s the second book for the Satan’s Devils MC. Grumbler is a character all his own, and he meets his match in Mary. Never having had an old lady his one true love was always his motorcycle. As the story progresses we watch Grumbler gain an old lady and daughter, Its beautiful watching their romantic pull as they navigate the trials in their journey.
It’s very realistic can easily be related to.

A good MC series is few and far between, but her series is just amazing across-the-board. Lost and Patsy have an amazing story. I love that it’s a love story that shows even with age true love can still always be found. Patsy is a fierce mama bear who protects her cubs at all costs and has more strength then she knows. Her and Lost meet when his MC sends him to keep watch for her son and her. The action, danger, and romantic chemistry are at a all time high. It shows an MC family never backs down, And a biker always gets his old lady.

Another great book from a great author. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book I have read by this author and this one is no different. I became so invested in Saffie’s story that I couldn’t put the book down. I wanted so much for her and her happiness after what she’s been through the last five years. Niran being the good guy that he is just wants to help her, but that’s not as easy as it would seem. This story took me on an emotional roller-coaster! It is a must read and I cannot wait to get my hands on part two!!! I don’t want to give anything away so I’m just going to say I highly recommend this book!

This booked hooked me from the beginning and I held on til the end…and now I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!

Saffie is married to the VP of a MC. She is used and abused and definitely not treated like the old ladies we have gotten to know throughout this series. When she ends up in the hospital…she is given an opportunity that she can’t refuse.

Niran is a member of the San Diego chapter of Satan’s Devils. He is a former Marine that has found a family in the MC. When helping out one of his brother’s women, he crosses paths with Saffie. His protector side comes out and he finds himself wanting to be her friend…because she obviously needs one!

As the truth of Saffie’s past comes out, Niran finds that he will have major hurdles to overcome just to be friends with her. As the danger gets closer, he finds himself wanting to do whatever he can to protect her…but her past is keeping her from accepting the help. When trouble is at her door…it might be too late!

Gah..this book was amazing. I found myself glued to the story because I needed to know what was going to happen. Like all the books in the series…the other members of the MC (and their spouses) all play a significant role in the story. And I have not figured out what’s up with Niran’s sister yet…but it can’t be good. I will definitely be waiting for book 2 to come out because this one ends on quite the cliffhanger!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’m too old to find love, my bike is all I need but in she walked and I could not resist.

Grumbler is set in his ways, he has been in the MC as long as he can remember and he has given his blood, sweat for the club and although all around him have old ladies he has never been one to go looking for one, until one day he gets the shock of his life and decides to give love a go.

Mary is a single mom, trying to juggle a wayward teenager who is determined to send her insane before her 18th birthday. Alicia’s new torture is to be a model, but Mary is not happy with her going alone as something does not seem right and how right Mary was. With the help of the handsome MC rider can they get themselves out of the mess they have got themselves in.

I love all of the series written by Manda Mellett and this does not disappoint, I loved the relationship between Mary and Grumbler as they seem like an unlikely couple but are so perfect for each other. Also, this is a great older couple story its not all the young people who can find love, the chemistry between was brilliant and the way the characters have been developed made them believable and relatable. The relationship also between Mary and her daughter was brilliantly written and in the end I loved how it all concluded.

I can’t ain’t wait to read the next instalment in this series.

I have been running from my past, I finally thought I had but in steps a man who I thought could rebuild me but end ups being part of the old me.

Saffie has tried hard to escape and run from the horrendous past that still haunts her but she is strong and can overcome the past in time but when one day when she believes her salvation has come into her life just to find out he is part of the world she is running from.

Niran was forced to take his VP’s Old lady to her prenatal appointment and what joy that’s going to be, but when he walks into the room he sees her and there is instant chemistry. Niran knows the look of a woman in need and with the draw he has to Saffie he will do anything to help her.

This is a brilliant instalment to this series and a well written, intriguing story. I loved the chemistry between these two characters and you are just willing them to get together, but there is some hard hitting storylines which was delicately written and has you drawn in from the beginning.

I loved the character of Saffie who was strong and over come so much heartbreak and evil that it breaks your heart but her will carries on. Niran’s character is definitely a brilliant counter to Saffie and his pure determination to prove himself was also brilliant to read.

I can’t wait for the next book as I want to see how this ends.

UGH a cliff hanger !!. However that does not discourage me. I absolutely LOVE Saffie and Niran. They have a VERY hard road ahead of them. But OH MY the feels that Niran is experiencing are DEEP. Saffie… my heart is going out to her and I don’t know that I can wait until part two is released before I start hyperventilating.
Saffie’s story is heartbreaking. She is abused and tortured, it is no wonder she finds it hard to trust anyone and especially Niran since he is in an MC. UGH I just want them to find their happy-ever-after.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this story.

Grumbler’s Ride (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #2) by Manda Mellett – Review by Ashleyann Sanabria

Grumbler's Ride (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #2)Grumbler’s Ride by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once again, I have been utterly taken in by a biker story. You would think it would get repetitive, but Manda Mellett does not write the same love story twice. Love can happen even when you aren’t looking. This book has all the common themes I have come to love and expect from this author: Love, Complex Characters, Tight Family Bonds, and Plot Twists that make for quite the RIDE! (tehe, see what I did there?). Some of it was hard to read, but helps the reader understand the characters better. Clear the space on your TBR, cause you’re likely going to want to pick up the next.

Book Review: Grumbler’s Ride
Author Manada Mellette
FIVE STARS
Book 2 in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego chapter does NOT disappoint. Grumbler is a mid to late 50’s man who has not had the best of luck in life. He has resigned himself to being alone for the rest of his life and he is ok with that.
Mary is in her late 40’s and a single mom. She has her hands full with her head strong daughter who is trying to find a place in the difficult life of being a teenager.
Grumbler is approached by a man who take photographs. This is how he meets Mary, her daughter is modeling and they are using Grumbler’s motorcycle as a prop.
This story is funny as well disturbing. Some of the things the photographer is into is very shady and NOT COOL.
I love the way the Satan’s Devils are able to take down the trafficking of persons. So far I am in love with this series.

The Halfling’s Court (A Bad-Ass Faerie Tale Book 1) by Danielle Ackley-McPhail – Review by Heather Lovelace

The Halfling's Court (A Bad-Ass Faerie Tale Book 1)The Halfling’s Court by Danielle Ackley-McPhail
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Very interesting dive into the mashup of the far world and MC universe. I really liked how the author set up the story. It immediately grabbed my attention and provided me with an emotional touch point that kept me wondering how it would play into the events that would unfold. I enjoy this author’s writing and her unique spin on some classic themes. Very enjoyable read.
